Insufficient disk space for Lightroom update

I have Lightroom v. 4.1. In the process to update to v. 4.2, I receive a message that disk space is insufficient. There is over 500 GB on the hard drive. The update is halted at this time. I am using a Mac, OS Lion. Please help. vict465

"Insufficient disk space for encoding" There is!!!!

Hi,
I've got a problem that is really driving me crazy.
When ever I write an .img or even burn to disk, the following comes up:
"Insufficient disk space for encoding. Please free up disk space on your encoding target drive"
This is untrue. I have 6.95 GB left on my hard drive, plenty on my LaCie drives and enough on my DVD-R. I really don't know what the problem is. I've written DVDs with less than 6.95 GB before.
Can anyone help?

That's not enough, when your hard drive gets about 80% full, then you may begin to see this issue. There is alot of files that are temporary, that also use disk space during the build process.
You really need alot more space than what you currently have left, (like 20GB) or more.
Look, I know that some here are on a shoe string budget, but the prices that ATA firewire drives are at now, there cheep. I just saw one on deal-mac.com, (250GB ATA, internal) for $80.00 and a 160GB for $40.00. You could replace your current firewire drive, for not much.
I know, you don't want to open the external firewire drive inclosure, that's ok, I also have a solution for that. It's a one time expense, but get a firewire bridge, like the one Wiebetech.com sells for $120.00 and from then on, you can just purchase raw internal HD's on sale as the need arises and plug those drives in via the 6pin firewire bridge from Wiebetech. This has saved me allot cash on purchasing the fire interface over and over, (as you have to do when purchasing an external firewire drive.)
I just move the Wiebetech drive dock firewire bridge from drive to drive as needed, I now have 4 of them. It also allows me to quickly archive off footage to an ATA drive quickly, as well as use that footage from that drive while authoring a DVD or FCP project.
I have looked at other solution like this, but this seems to be the lowest cost per GB & buck, ($.)

Insufficient disk space for encoding?

Hello, when I burn my DVD in DVDSP I get this message:
"Insufficient disk space for encoding. Please free up disk space on your encoding target drive. Build cancelled"
I couldn't find anything in the documentation about this. I have 26 GB on my hard drive, which is set in the Encoding dropdown of the Destinations preference tab.
My project is showing 3.0 GB as the size.
Any idea what's going on?

Personally, I prefer to use Compressor to encode my video and audio to m2v and ac3 before going into DVDSP.
Yes, me too, but I had some old QT movies I needed to get onto a DVD and it was easier just to drag and drop than recompress.

I keep having this message when I try to burn\enconde\build a DVD with DVDSP 4, I'm setting the Build folder in a external hard drive with 300Gigas free, so for sure is not the porblem...

I found this in a 2-pop forum - it may be the solution...
"Are you both using the DVDSP Background encoder? If so, make sure the *DESTINATIONS PREFERENCE for ENCODING is pointing to the disk drive that actually HAS the free space* - normally, it points to the SAME FOLDER where the asset is living. If you're short on space on that drive, that will trigger the condition you describe... - always maintain this free space "

Insufficient disk space for render. What does this mean?

In Final Cut Express, I received this message. Insufficient disk space for render. Please free up space & retry. Does this mean not enough space on the finished project? Is my project too long? How can I free up space?

If you haven't done so already, you can empty your Trash bin on your dock. But, you do not have enough disk space on the target drive to save your project. You'll need to delete files to free up space or save it to another drive.

Insufficient disk space for rendering - about to kill myself

I have two clips on my timeline. Quicktime clips. I just want to render them. It says I have insufficient disk space for rendering, try cleaning out files and trying again. I deleted everything in my render files, everything in the final cut pro documents. My hard drive has 199 GB of free space. Together in total these clips are under 4 minutes. Why in the name of all that is holy is 200 GB of space not enough for rendering? If you can answer that or tell me what to do, I'll give you my first born child.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Without full system info (computer, OS, FCE and QT versions, external devices, etc. along with specifics of the QuickTime clips), this is just guesswork. Is there another hard drive involved? Could your FCE System Settings have your render files going to a drive that's almost full?

Insufficient Disk Space for Encoding but 49.7 GB free on drive???

Attempting to build a DVD project, but I keep getting an error that there's insufficient disk space. There's almost 50GB free on the drive. What gives?

Permissions should be fine, considering I burned a DVD not more than 6 days ago, same drive.
I import video from my camcorder, create a menu screen, import the screen and video into DVD Studio Pro 3, build the project, then burn to DVD with Toast (I never have been able to burn straight from DVD Studio Pro for some strange reason)
But as of yesterday, DVD Studio Pro tells me there's not enough disk space to Encode the files. The full DVD is only 3.9 GB, and with 49 GB of empty disk space on the hard drive, that should be more than enough room to build!!!

I am fairly new to Solaris (was on Linux before) but anyway I tried to install SunStudio 12. Prepare went well but when I ran install script:

or even GUI installation:

there was following report displayed:

Then i did df -kh to check disk space and got output as follows:

I think the problem is that there is not enough space in / filesystem:
/dev/dsk/c0d1s0 4,6G 4,4G 98M 98% /
It has only 98 Mb free. By default Sun Studio is installed at /opt, which is a directory in / filesystem.
I'd suggest you to extract Sun Studio Express from the tar.gz file. You can download it from this page:
http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/express/index.jsp
Extract it somewhere (say /export/home/ss12), set PATH and run compilers and tools.

Final Cut Express 4 insufficient disk space for rendering

I have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz intel core 2 Duo, 2GB 667 MHz SDRAM, and a 750 GB hard drive with over 400 GB of free space. I just purchased Final Cut Express 4 and when I uploaded my first clip and I tried to render it, it said that I have "insufficient disk space to render." I don't understand how this is possible, I may just have a setting messed up but I need step by step instructions to switch that setting or fix my problem, thank you.

There is a Final Cut Pro forum, you probably repost there. I suspect someone with Final Cut Pro experience may have a better idea than this forum which is a general iMac forum. You can find that forum at:

How to fix " insufficient disk space for encoding" on DVD STUDIO PRO 4

I keep getting the error message, "insuffiecient disl space for encoding" on DVD STUDIO PRO 4. I reinstallled the program, uptaded software and also cheked the library receipts file. After the reinstall I am still getting the same message. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I am getting this error message when I go to build and format the dvd. This is after compression encoding.

I started recieving a message that states "Insufficient disk space for logging Historical data".

I am using bridgeview, version 2.1 with fieldpoint. I just started recieving this error and it will not run my real time graph. The error will appear one day and not the next. I have plenty of hard disk space. I am running it on windows 2000. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It may be a corruption of the database. The quickest way to check is to move all the files in the database folder to a new folder before starting BridgeVIEW. When you then start BridgeVIEW, that database folder will be empty and a new database is started. If the original database was corrupt you will see the error go away.
Also make sure that all the services are started.

Insufficient disk space - HP Color LaserJet 4650

Hi, every time I print more than ONE item in Adobe InDesign I get the following page printed from my printer...
Error: Unable to store job at printer
Reason: Insufficient disk space for this job
Solution: Delete some files from the disk before resending this job
But I have plenty of free space on the disk and I can print multiple items from other software packages?
What do I do please? Any help is much appreciated, I need to print from Indesign all the time now.

Insufficient disk space error during export

I've been exporting approximately 1,200 photograghs (975 MB) to a Desktop folder which I copy and then burn to a DVD for playback on a Windows PC without difficulty for the past several months. However, I'm now receiving an error message stating "insufficient disk space for that operation". What's happening? I receive the error even when attempting to export 50 photograghs (25 - 30 MB).

I have edited most of the JPEG files with PE4. Could this be causing the trouble?
Possibly. Check your Edit->Color Setting menu window and see if you've got color management turn one. Mine looks like this. If it's not set to manage then some of those files may not have a profile. To correct this you can either reedit each and save to embed the profile or, much easier, download the Automator application "Embed sRGB Profile" from Toad's Cellar, unzip and drag the original files that need it onto it. It will automatically embed the profile.
Were the files you tried to export the same as before or a new bunch? Had then been editied?

Not enough disk space for asset ecoding

Hi all,
I have a dvdsp project with:
a feature: 3.3 gb
dvd extra: 289
menu assets: 65mb
and shows that it is 3.8 mb all together, but when i try to build/format it stops the build at the menu and gives the error message: Not enough disk space for asset encoding. I was running a test build when this happened. i have yet to add the audio for the extra thinking i still had some room on here to work with.
I have burned dvd's up 4.5 without any issues. any ideas why this is happening?

I'm having the same problem. Except I have tried to switch locations for the Current Build and each time it says Not enough disk space for asset encoding. I have a 500GB raid with almost 400GB free and then another 500GB raid with about 130GB free. I really need help on this pronto!
Another message it now brings up after it starts Encoding Assets: Insufficient disk space for encoding. Please free up disk space on your encoding target drive. Please Help!!

BitLocker Insufficient Disk Space

Hi,
I am using Vista Ultimate and am using a USB flashdrive to BitLocker my C:
When Vista runs the BitLocker System Check, it returns with the error:
"Insufficient disk space for BitLocker Drive Encryption to encrypt the drive.
Use disk maintenance tools to repair the disk and try again"
But the message doesn't say how much space is needed, not what kind of space is needed (e.g. contiguous?), or on which partition. so I don't know how to solve it.
My config is as follows:
C: (name: SYSTEM) 52.34GB Free: 23.26GB
Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition
D: (name: DATA) 20.18GB Free 7.21GB

I have already run Vista error-checking several times, and the Vista Disk Defragmenter several times. I even ran PowerDefragmenter with Contig.exe several times, but to no avail.

Try the following:
1.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
2.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
3.
Verify the data type of the PagingFiles registry entry. If the data type is REG_SZ, follow these steps:
a.
Note the value data for the PagingFiles registry entry.
b.
Back up the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
c.
Right-click PagingFiles, and then click Delete.
d.
Click Yes when you are prompted.
e.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Multi-String Value (REG_MULTI_SZ).
f.
Type PagingFiles, and then press ENTER.
g.
On the Edit menu, click Modify.
h.
In the Value data box, type the value data that you noted in step 3a, and then click OK.
i.
Exit Registry Editor.
4.
Restart the computer.
