I had installed Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 under window xp environment.
I got error message when deploy war file by the following command =>
pdeploy deploy -u amadmin -w amAdminPassword -g -p
amAdminPassword -v portletsamples.war
errorStoreDP (sms-UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION_OCCURRED)
in pdeploy.debug , I got the following error message =>
Message:The user does not have permission to perform the operation.
netscape.ldap.LDAPException: error result (50); Insufficient 'write' privilege to the 'sunserviceschema'
Actually, this command is work for me before, I don't know why it's not
working right now.
How can we setup the 'write' privilege ?
Can someone help me ?

I am sorry but I really don't have answer for the problem I mentioned in this thread.
First of all, what I installed was 2005Q4 for windows.
It's been working for me once a while, then I think I re-deployed
a portlet without undeploy it or vice versa.. then i received
that error. In the end I removed 2005Q4 from control panel and
re-install that thing using another set of ID/PWD. I've been repeating this several times, sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I even wipe out my hard drive once a time to re-install the OS then 2005Q4.
it's painful. I talked with JES support staff, they said there are bugs
on 2005Q4 but they have them addressed in version 7...
After you remove it from control panel, make sure run regedit to see
all JES related entries have been removed from HKEY-LOCAL-
MACHINE/Software.
I don't have this problem anymore since I got an Unix box, so far
2005Q4 seems to be working fine on Unix.

Try adding a scope of subtree to the ACI. If it still does not work, check if there are other ACIs that disallow write on isavail because deny ACIs are given higher priority over allow ACIs. Also provide the schema definition of the IsAvail attribute as it does not seem to be a standard attribute supplied by Sun.

I get this error message (The messages could not be filtered to folder 'Generic Folder' because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.) popping up on many, though not all of my incoming filters. I recently migrated from a Windows 7 installation to a Linux Mint 17 system.

I did give it time to run through everything when I initially migrated, and it frequently will sit open for 3 to 4 hours while I'm working on other projects.
The 'Generic Folder' represents sorting folders in my main mail account in Thunderbird. For example, my mail which is listed to filter into my 'Amazon' folder is sorted there with no problem, while any mail designated to be filtered into my 'Games' folder prompts the above error massage.

Can't install Exchange 2013 after previous uninstall (insufficient user privileges with the same user)

I have installed Exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012, which ist a member of a Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain. All prerequisites and AD modifications were successfully completed and I could install Exchange 2013. Unfortunately I made a mistake with
the target directory and had to uninstal Exchange 2013. If I start the Setup again, it fails in prerequisite check - the current user should not be a member of Enterprise and Schema admin Group, but it's the same user, which comleted the previous Installation
of Exchange 2013! Do you have any idea how to solve this Problem - I'm running out of ideas.

Inhave tried to run setup /PrepareSchema again and get the following error in exchange setup log:

I recently had my computer serviced. I re-downloaded Thunderbird (getting a newer version), and retrieved my saved email. Now, Thunderbird keeps asking me to compact, but when I do, I get this error message:
The folder 'Inbox' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.
Obviously, since I'm getting mail all the time, I have write privileges, and disk space. The question is whether there's a setting I need to specify, or whether Thunderbird is writing to a special partition that may have gotten write-protected when my computer was in the hospital - or whether this is related to a known bug.
All help appreciated.

The only know bug I can see is probably your anti virus is trying to scan the file when the new inbox is created leaving Thunderbird to think the file was not created.
As an experimental / diagnostic process. Restart the machine in safe mode with networking using Microsoft instructions for [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7] then try the compact. If it works I was most likely right. If it does not, another idea must surface.

When compacting, I get an alert that asks me to verify that I enough disc space and that I have write privalages to the file system. How do I do this?

Mozilla asks me if I want to compact, I click 'yes' and after a while I get this:

Lost write privileges to external USB hard drive- please help!

I've got an external Western Digital 250GB USB hard drive that has been chugging along just fine until about a month ago, when somehow I seemed to have lost write privileges to the top level directory. I"m not sure if this happened when I installed an Mac OS update, or what, as I use the drive as backup and didn't notice it for a while.
The drive appears in the sidebar with a tiny lock icon, and when I try to copy a file from my internal HD to the external (top level directory, or drag the items right onto the icon), the following things happen:
Dialog box says "The item "foo" cannot be moved because "External HD" cannot be modified", with an authenticate button, which I then click.
After I authenticate, I get the error msg "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items."
But I *CAN** copy files directly into a folder that already exists on the external drive, but I cannot create new folders in the top level directory.
I have tried the following, to no avail:
1) "get info" on the external drive, checkign the permissions. In the Ownership and Permissions section, it says "You can Read & Write", and under details:
Owner: my account (dimmed) and access level is "read & write".
Group: my account (dimmed) Access: Read only
Others: No access
Ignore ownership on this volume (unchecked).
The fact that my account was named both as owner and group seemed odd, since in Group the access was "read only". I clicked on the little lock icon next to Owner, authenticated, and was allowed to change the Group settings. I changed the Group access to "read & Write", but it's not "sticking" -- when I close teh details field and reopen it, or close the get info window and reopen, the Group access settings go back to "read only".
2) I've also, of course, tried repairing permissions on my internal startup drive, which did not help the matter. Also in Disk Utility, I verified/repaired the offendin external USB drive (no problems), Verify/Repair permissions were dimmed for this drive (I assume becuase it doesn't have MacOS X installed on it?)
3) Searched the forums, Western Digital support, etc. and I cannot seem to figure out what has gone wrong.
4) When I connect the drive to another computer (my iBook) the situation is the same. Also, when I create a new admin user account and try to access the drive from that account, I still cannot write to the drive.

Open the Terminal in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and enter the following:
chflags nouchg
followed by a space; next, drag the disk into the Terminal window and press Enter. The lock should now be gone.

Recent versions of Mac OS X create a group with the same name whenever you create an account from the Setup Assistant or System Preferences. The Group permissions don't apply in this case.

That is correct. The Repair Permissions mechanism uses data from the /Library/Receipts/ folder on a disk to function, and this data is only present on disks which have Mac OS X installed.

OK what's up. I'd like to buy the upgrade! Chronic error won't let me install. Install error below.

So am I mistaken when this looks like a 32bit program on my 64bit system?
So all the genius' at Adobe and the LR5 team, this is a chronic issue all over the web. What is the fix?

Yes! On a 64-bit Windows system you have two different folders for programs. One is called "Program Files (x86)" - this one is for 32-bit programs; the other is called "Program Files" - and that's the one you have to select for the installation of 64-bit programs.
Also, be careful when the installer wants to send the program to the desktop. The desktop has a limited capacity. And when you have too many items on it, the capacity is not enough for installation of a program. And Lr5 is not small - heck, it's a 810 MB file!
Rather do this: On your C drive in the folder "Program Files" create a folder "Adobe" - if it's not there already. Then in the folder "Adobe" create a folder "Lightroom 5" or "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5". When the installer comes up for unzipping, direct it to this folder. Then when the InstallShield comes up for the installation direct it again to this folder. Then you know where everything is regarding Lr5 - and everything is in one folder.

CS4 Install Error - ... write privileges ... ???

During the extraction of the upgrade version of CS4 (about 95-100% completed) I got the error "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder". I have 690GB free on a 750GB drive so I know space is not a problem. I'm running XP w SP3. Any ideas on how to resolve?

But is there any limitation or quota on your temp directory? Please check C:\Documents and Settings\Rudy\Local Settings\Temp. Clean out the directory if necessary and attempt another install. Also check the status of system restore, updates and the trash can. It may be advisable to clean them out, too. Unfortunately Windows has some not so smart automatisms for all this stuff and chokes on itself, so to speak, under some circumstances. A good way to cover all those aspects is the use of CCcleaner, a freely available third-party tool.

ICal write privileges were switched on wifes computer

ICal 2.2 write privileges were switched be either .mac Sync or Backup on my wifes computer when I tried to merge my calendar with hers. I own the .mac account and I now now have the problem that she can't add events to her own calendar. I most likely caused the problem by clicking the replace option but quickly hit the cancel and then merge. She did lose all the old events but not the new ones. GOT LUCKY. There is only one user account so we don't need the multi user option. Just want to switch the write privilege back to her.

I have just finished cloning our EBS to the DEV server. All process and services were succssful.
Except I see some failed message about OUI registration? in the ouInventory? because no permission of the directory
But it scrolled so fast and I can not retrieve back the log.
It says you can run registration again by run the dir which I was not able to capture.
So when I login SYSADMIN/SYSADMIN to the new cloned instance, I got this error:
You have insufficient privileges to the current operationAll userid have this error message when logged in.
Is this caused by the failed ouInventory registratrion?
Where can I find that file to run for registration?

It has been determined that the ICX_PARAMETERS table has old value for session_domain_name.
Solution
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Update the "s_cookie_domain" context variable to the new load balancer domain value
2. Run autoconfig
3. Check the value of "session_cookie_domain" in the ICX_PARAMETERS table:
select * from ICX_PARAMETERS;
4. If it is the old value then do the following:
a. backup the ICX_PARAMETERS table:
create table ICX_PARAMETERS_BKP
as select * from ICX_PARAMETERS;
b. update the table with the sql statement below:
