Insured Phone non Apple refurbished replacement.

I got an iPhone 3GS in January so I think it is still under an annual warranty. I looked after it well. It got stolen. I had cover with my bank account.
The replacement phone was a refurbished model that came in a weird grubby box and has glue on it where they stuck it together and had dirt under the screen (Between touch screen and under screen). I have refused this replacement.
I'm assuming this not an apple refurbished phone as it did not have the blue dot and white apple box to go with it.
I think this is not a "Like for Like" replacement. I don't mind getting a refurbished fphone but do I have the right to ask it to be an Apple quality control refurbishment.

I need to get a new battery for my MacBook, and would like to avoid paying $129 for a new one from the Apple Store. I found the following battery on Amazon, and want to find out if anyone has any experience with this brand before I purchase it. My opinion is how can you go wrong for $45? A one year replacement warranty to boot. I think I'm going to get one of these for myself. Thanks for the link!

My brother has an iPhone 5 which recently has a malfunctioning screen - it is out of warranty so replacing it will cost $250. My family is thinking of switching over to a different carrier and we were planning on returning our iPhones for Apple credit. I was wondering if I were to get a non-Apple certified replacement screen, would I still be able to return the phone for Apple credit? Or, if I were to go ahead with the $250 replacement, will I still get the full credit on the iPhone 5 back (valued at $375)?

Some US Apple stores are now able to in-store repair iPhone 5-series devices...teh price for the screen is $149. Check with your Apple store to see if they can do the repair.

Yes, unless you need to break an item's DRM to do so. This isn't a problem for music, except in the case of very old purchases, but might be for video content purchased from the iTunes Store.

How can I copy mp3 files from my Itunes library to an SD card for use in a non-apple phone? I can physically copy the tunes as mp3's but the phone does not seem to be able to play all of them. Do I need to copy an entire album or can I just pick & choose individual songs? The phone is question is an LG running who knows what for an operating system.

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding. Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD). More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder). Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button. Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder. After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version." You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding. Hopefully your phone will play that.

The sleep/wake button on my Iphone 3G has dropped significantly lower from its original position, so much so that it is hard to push to wake the screen. I've had this issue with the original phone and once before with the 3G and an exchange to get a new phone with apple has never been an issue because this is a known problem with the phone. I took the phone in for an exchange but due to a quarter inch crack in the plastic near the dock connector they refuse to do an exchange or even fix the sleep/wake button. The employee said, "you could get an aftermarket company to put on a new plastic back then take it back in and then we would probably exchange it." Does anybody know of any other solution or similar problems that they've had that can help me? Thanks in advance

wow your issue about sleep/wake button dropped lower from its original position I have never heard of let alone it be a known issue. While I have heard of lots of people with cracks on their casing I for one have had two phones with cracks first one was a small crack by the Dock Connector and apple replaced it no problem second time crack was by the SIM Card Tray again apple replaced it no problem...
If you took it to another company to do any work then apple would not exchange it as you would have just VOIDED the Warranty...

This is not a feature of iPhone, iPad or iOS.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone
devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the
app store and internet tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this it will not connect to a phone/computer/device. (thanks to ckuan for the wording)
