Int stays negative even when it is negated
This is very odd. There is an integer that stays negative, even if you negate it.
-Integer.MIN_VALUE == Integer.MIN_VALUE <----- Returns true??? I am going to have to try that next time I open Eclipse.

Short answer is you probably cannot. Once water gets inside the device and it is powered on, the damage likely is permanant.

My iPhone got wet in the rain. Everything works fine. But The flash stays on even when no battery. Any help?
A liquid damaged iPhone 4 can be replaced by Apple for $149.
By the way... and electrical short can be dangerous, creating a fire or explosion hazard. You can see the short that's affecting the flash... It's the short you may not see that's affecting the battery and/or charging circuitry that's the problem.

My Macbook is not playing sound unless i have headphones in. The light in the headphone port stays on even when they are not plugged in. How can i fix this?
You might need to clean the headphone port (I was in the same situation and this worked for me). Dirt, dust, and debris accumulate in the port and eventually the computer registers the debris as headphones being plugged in. After cleaning the issue was resolved.

Screen turns black, Laptop goes to sleep - Stays on even when unplugged
Hello.
Having a strange repair issue with a powerbook 15 inch titanium. The symptoms are as follows:
- Screen turns black (completely)
- Sleep light stays fully lit and stays lit even when the battery is unplugged and the AC is removed
- Still stay lit for 5-10 minutes and turn itself off
Steps taken:
Replaced the logic board 2 months ago. Fixed the issue for that duration, but has now shown its face again. What if any other parts should I replace besides the Sound/DC-In board, and another logic board?

Spoke with someone at Customer Relations who basically said there was nothing she could do for me. My advisor has definitely been slacking and has been really hard to get responses from.
On Dec. 20th, I emailed my advisor a capture data and waited almost a week before he responded after repeated calls and contact with his manager. He and the techs felt it was a third party application causing it because thats what the capture data showed so we uninstalled it right away. I though finally the issue was resolved but no. Again on Jan. 1st my comptuer went to sleep after I had just finished a search in google. I did a capture data and emailed him right away. I called to leave a voicemail and let him know that I had sent the email but his voicemail box was full. I called back on Jan. 2nd at 9 am to see if it was still full and it wasn't so I left a message asking him to please call me or email as soon as possible to let me know that he had gotten the capture data and to let me know where we go and what we do from here.
As of Jan. 3rd at 10:05 I still havn't gotten a response, since they claim a 24 hour response time. I called back and spoke with another advisor who said that he hadn't even put any of this information into my case notes. I'm beyond annoyed at this point because this has been going on since October 4th. I not all that happy that I have to keep track of the days and times that I speak with people because now nothing is being added to my case notes.
Who do I contact about this? Has anyone ever had this type of issue? I've tried everything I can possibly think of and tried to contact everyone I possibly could up until now and nothing has been resolved. -
I uninstalled my "forever floyd" persona but it stays on, even when I choose another persona!
How can I get rid of my "Forever Floyd" persona. Every time I choose a different persona to take the place of the "Forever Floyd" persona, the different persona is shown but it doesn't stay shown. When I log back online, the "Forever Floyd" persona shows up again, even after I've uninstalled it and it doesn't even show up in my list of saved personas! How can I keep this from happening?
A: Try Forced Firewire Mode. If the Apple logo is not showing on your iPod, try a Reset by pressing and holding the Menu + Pause/Play buttons for 10 seconds or so. At the Apple logo, press the FF and REW buttons until it says "OK to Disconnect". Then connect your iPod to the computer.
Or put iPod into disk mode and restore it if it allows you to. Good luck -
Performance Counter monitors stay unhealthy even when values drop below thresholds
I'm investigating some (SCOM 2012) alerts on our Exchange 2013 (SP1) environment:
Malware filtering is taking too long (90th percentile)
Mailbox Transport Submission is not keeping up with the work...
Queue Alert: Internal Aggregate Delivery Queue (Normal Priority) exceeds threshold
The total number of messages in shadow queues exceeds 1500
All the monitors are Performance Counter based monitors. When I investigate those performance counters (found via the Crimson Channels in the Eventlogs ../ActiveMonitoring/Monitordefinition) all affected counters have already dropped below threshold values
but the associated Health Sets stay unhealthy
IE: Get-ServerHealth -Identity '<Server>' -HealthSet '<HealthSet>' still reports Total.Shadow.Queue.Length.Above.Threshold.Monitor as UnHealthy while perfmon reports values way below 1500 for that particular server.
How to (re)evaluate the monitors ?For investigation purposes I've added some perfmoncounters in SCOM
Another server now alerts 'Total number of messages in shadow queues exceeds 1500'. On the specific server the treshold never reached 1500; it was about 5 at the time the alert fired ?!?
Now it seems the alerts fire for no reason and cannot be reset (I want Managed Availability to reset the alert, not scom)

My iPhone 4 won't stay on even when plugged in
my phone was getting really hot yesterday and charging very slowly, when unplugged the battery was draining fast.
I shut down all my apps and charged it completely, 2 hours later the battery was draining.
This morning it was dead, plugged it in the wall and on my laptop, all I get is the apple logo comes on for a few seconds and then off again.
It's been going on for few hours.how long have you had your iphone? if it's within it's 1 year warranty you can buy applecare protection plan for $69 which adds 1 extra year of coverage ontop of the 1 year which comes with a free battery replacement. That's definitely the best route to save $10 on the battery replacement plus extra coverage. if you're interested.

What Catalyst driver version do you have? 14.4 Is current and works well with all versions of Photoshop (I personally have a 7850).
Have you closed and restarted Photoshop after changing configuration options?
Have you changed from another card since Windows was installed? If so, it's possible remnants of other drivers may still be in your system.
Do you have more than one GPU?

It also seems that my sound can no longer be controlled by the keys on my keypad. Has anyone else experience this? I am running osx 10.6.8.
IF RESET DOESN'T WORK, FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

You need to go to your iPad in iTunes and then go to Summary. In that window there is an Options box. Make sure "Manually Manage Music and Videos" is checked.

Key Stuck - *EVEN WHEN NO KEYBOARD CONNECTED*

The up cursor on the keyboard is stuck on.
But it stays stuck even when no keyboard is connected at all.
i.e. if you use the mouse to open a menu, the options will highlight from the bottom up.
If you type a document the cursor will keep flying back to the top.
It's impossible to enter any passwords as the invisible keystrokes of the up cursor seem to make it invalid.
It's exactly if something was resting on the keyboard.
I"ve tried different keyboards, including a BlueTooth one, so that rules out the connections.
And As I say it persists even when the keyboard and mouse are entirely disconnected.
It is still on when I startup from a bootable CD.
It feels as if some sort of hardware problem has occurred...
I've tried resetting the PRAM but as the keyboard doesn't function correctly, I can't use the startup shortcut.
I've unplugged mains power and removed the battery and pressed the PMU reset button, but to no avail.
I've started up from an OSX Leopard disk, but the problem persists.
This is driving me crazy, any ideas?yes, I've tried with 2 different mice, and with no mouse connected.
Even restarted from an install CD with no keyboard or mouse connected at all, cursor is still jumping upwards, and the repeating chime that you get when the keyboard buffer is full (like when you acidentally rest something on a key) is constantly sounding.
It feels to me as if there is some false signal getting to the keyboard buffer that the computer is interpreting as a constant up arrow key press.
Any ideas? Is there a part of the internals of the computer that I should check hasn't come loose in some way, triggering this false key input?
The problem happened after I moved the computer from one part of the office to another. -
Is the W520 supposed to whirrr and click even when completely shut down?
I just received my W520 (#4270CTO) about 3 weeks ago. This is my first laptop (to be used for video editing and animation), so I'm not sure what to expect.
I noticed that when I shut down the W520 (go to "Start" select "shutdown"), it continues to make a very faint whirrr and click noise. The noise pattern goes like this: long whirrrr, click, short period of silence, then it repeats. It does this all the time when the computer is turned off. Even when I don't use the computer for 2 days, and it is turned off, it continues to whirr and click. It only stops when I disconnect the battery and reinstall it. Only then, is it completely silent.
Is it supposed to do that (the whirr and click all the time)?
The whirr and click noise is very soft, so you have to lift it up and listen to it but it is audible. My friend says that it is the hard drive noise, and said it should not be doing that, but he doesn't have a W520, and isn't familiar with it. So I thought I should ask someone else who has one to see if theirs is doing the same thing.
I also noticed that the fingerprint reader LED stays lit all the time except for when the computer is on and I'm using it. It stays green even when the computer is shut down and the lid is closed.
Please help. Is my W520 working properly, or should I call for tech support?

I've only noticed the noise coming from the underside of the computer when my W520 is turned off with the battery still attached.
If I remove the battery and reinstall it, the noise stops.
If I plug in the power brick, the noise stops. (The brick doesn't even have to be plugged into a wall socket. I could just plug the power brick into the computer without plugging in the other end to a power supply.)
Of course, if I remove the battery the noise also stops.
But if I use the W520, then shut it down and leave the battery attached, it will continue to make the faint long whirrr and click noise. I have let it sit without turning on the machine for 3 days, and it continued to make the soft noise every day.
I don't suppose your computer makes the same noise. Maybe my computer really is defective. It works great otherwise.
