Intallation problems

Hi !!!
I'd like to evaluate JDeveloper3.0 with Oracle8 EE release 8.0.4 for NT.
My server is a NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 5.
The problem is about intallation of Oracle8 Server 8.0.4.
While the Intallation Process was running, it appear the the following error:
Dr. Watson for Win NT
An application error has ocurred
and an application error log is being generated
ORAINST.EXE
Exception: access violation(0xc0000005)
Addresss: 0x77a08075
Later, the installation process aborts. The istallation not is complete. Net8 is corrupted.
I have done it 3 times and it happens the same.
Any help will be appreciated.

My experience stays that for the Oracle Database has some problems with Service Pack 5. So it is recommended that u stick to Service Pack 3/4 preferably 3 to solve your problem.

Solaris 10 x86 intallation problems

I have an athlon based machine which was happily running XP this morning. I had previously divided the disk to use a Linux distribution on one half and XP on the other. I wanst using the Linux bit much due to graphics driver problems so I decided to replace it with a Solaris 10.
I duly went through the installation and was told that the solaris boot loader was incomaptible with the Linux one, grub I think, so I overwrote it and proceeded with the install. During the disk layout procedure I asked it to preserve my XP partition and use the rest for solaris. I had to shrink the solaris bit beyond teh full size by 100k or so and eventually it was happy, or so I thought.
Solaris is now duly installed and runs fine. I just need to sort out a network card driver. However my problem is that the sun boot loader sees the old XP partition as an extended dos partition (partition 3) and wont boot from it....
WHat have I done wrong?
Please dont tell me my XP partition is lost! Is there some tool I can use to make it bootable again? I have seen the grub bits on the GNU site. Are these any use?

FYI: I tried yet another version of solaris as i found out that theres a bug in the 64-bit kernel on update 4 for alot of new processors. Solaris 10 x86 update 7 did the trick! :). Installed right away on a standard 'Solaris 10 (64 bit)' VM. I still find it strange that the most recent version of solaris 10 fails to even start the installation.

It seems the problem is with the installer. Tried a couple of more times, & still getting the same error message.

InDesign CS3 Intallation Problem

I was wondering if anyone can help. I have downloaded the free 30 day trial of InDesign CS3 3 times now and installed. Each time I try and load the program it comes up with the following message:
"Adobe InDesign is missing required files. Please reinstall.
Missing files:\Program Files\Common Files\TypeSupport\...\CP1252.TXT"
I dont know why this keeps happening or even what to do. Please help because I want to know if this is worth buying or not.

This could be a problem. Trial versions can be installed only once on a computer without doing a low-level format in order to keep people from using them over and over without buying the real thing.
Unfortunately, the CS3 installers are horribly sensitive to a lot of configuration issues and if you haven't got your system properly prepared (which is not well documented anywhere, though you'll find lots of information scattered through these forums), the installation will fail, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after nearly an hour of what looks like success. I have no idea at what point the installer writes the information, or where, that tells the demo it has been previously installed.
With the fully licensed version there are a number of options, including a cleanup script, that can put the system back into a state where the installer has a chance of working. It has been suggested a number of times that doing the cleanup might allow a failed demo to install, but I'm not aware of anyone who has tried and posted back that it worked, or didn't work, so I have no way to advise you in that regard.
It's a little unclear to me just what has happened, though. Are you saying that InDesign actually launches, but throws up an error? If that's the case, it might be possible to copy the missing file from a working system. That certainly worked for earlier versions and the "missing required cmap files" error.
The file you referenced should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\TypeSupport\Unicode\Mappings\Win, along with about a dozen others. You may be seeing only the first missing file, so I'd recommend copying the entire folder.
Worth buying? That depends on a lot of factors. What do you plan to use it to do? What are you using now? How much will it cost? How long can you wait?
As a professional I use it everyday, and the upgrade cost From CS2 was paid in increased productivity in a matter of months. Students are eligible for discount pricing that makes it eminently worthwhile to buy before graduation -- you can use it commercially later. If you can wait, the usual pattern is that an upgrade is issued about every 18 to 24 months, so you might expect the CS4 versions to be out by early 2009. One could hope the Installers would be fixed.

Illustator cs5 intallation problems

Am downloading illustrator cs5 trial, when it gets to the installation stage it fails to install saying "Adminstrator privilages required". I have tried so many times to install but its still giving me the same message what do i resolve this problem?

It appears that you do not have the permissions necessary on your user account to install the software? If your computer is managed by an I.T. department then I would recommend speaking with them. If it is not then you will want to try creating a new local administrator account and see if your difficulties persist. I am not sure which operating system you are using but if it is Windows 7 or Vista the following article should assist you with setting up the account. Intallation problem

I just bought LR 5 on disc. Installation on my laptop seemed to be going well-Windows 8.1, 6 gb ram. Loaded LR 5.7 on prompt. Installation does not seem to have completed. I now have 2 icons on the desktop-Lr 5.7 64 bit and Adobe (just looks like an old manilla folder) LR does not open.
What can I do to complete the install?

When I went to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7 and right clicked there was no Run as Administrator option. I right clicked the Lightroom icon on the desktop and hit Run as Administrator. It brought me back to the page that asks me if I wan it to make changes and I said yes. Then it went back to the page that begins registration. I went to the point where I enter the serial number but it won't let me proceed past that.
As you suggested, I installed 5.7.1. The exact problems remain.

Intallation problems with oracle personal 8i

I have tried to install Oracle personal 8i on both of our computer. Neither installations are successful.
1) On one computer during installation a window pop up advising: oracle\dra8\Bin\oracore8 is unable to install.
2) on the other computer it would intall and then freezes at 76% while trying to copy a file called comus.
3) I tried to deinstall and reinstall but the software won't work.
Can you give suggestions as what I can do to get oracle personal 8i to work on my computer.
4)Also, when I deinstall oracle it would not completely take the software off the registry. It has caused my windows 98 to crash constantly. I had to reinstall windows 98 just to get rid of oracle personal 8i.
Is there a way that I can completely deinstall oracle from my windows registry?

Check with lsnrctl stat at command prompt to see if the listener is running
Also check thru svrmgr if you can connect to the database.If you can then ur database is fine.else as the error says, the database is not opened properly.

Old mx400 install problem

Please help with intallation problem of this video card.
I know it's oldie, but helpful for me if I could only make it work:
System:
video (graphic) card MS-8826 ver:2.0,
based on nvidia geforce mx400, 64 Mb.
mobo: pcpartner, chipset VIA Apollo MVP3,
AMD K6-2/400, 128 Mb S-DRAM.
bus : 100 Mhz.
AGP ver 1., AGP 1X/2X supported.
BIOS updated (last available) and VIA drivers for the mobo newly updated too.
Windows 98SE, Enabled (Hebrew)
Problem:
After installing drivers for the MS-8826 card and rebooting as instructed, nstead of loading windows properly, after first stage of windows completed it makes reboot on its own and then, of course, loaded in safe mode as "uncompleted previous loading process".
Same goes with the original driver supplied on the cd ver 1200 and with driver ver 3000 downloaded.
Any advice? is it because it's AGP 4X and the mobo supports 2X only? if so, how can I fix it?

I know the Rage Pro 2x was able to work, that was because it didn't have any advanced features. Have you tried setting the agp slot to run at 1x?
Some of the problems were associated to lack of power to the agp slot, there was nothing that could be done to help this. Only the high current video cards posed problems with this (TNT/TNT2/GeForce)
I found this site, it's kind of old but they were able to get AGP 2x out of a card on the MVP3 chipset.

Mass Storage/ Com port

I have an iphone 4s and i have troubles in syncing it with itunes. When i plug- in the usb cable all i see in my iphone is USB config and it asked me to choose mass storage or com port. I tried using mass storage to transfer apps from itunes in my iphone but when i open it, it doesn't work. When i tried com port it has some intallation problems so i can't use it. I don't know what seems to be the problem i tried using some of the troubleshooting techniques but none seems to work i still cannot sync my iphone to itunes. I dunno what to do i really wanted to transfer my apps in my iphone.

one and a half year has passed since TS' message but the problem still appears to be relevant. the thing is as simple as it only can be - this iPhone is fake. look at its screen, touch its buttons, check its edging. they are far from Apple perfect design. Devil is hiding in the detail. be careful!

Did you try to repair Apple Software Update?
That is the important thing to try.
If that doesn't work we would need to try something else.

You cannot. If someone else told you there is a way then they will need to show you. After Effects requires a 64-bit system and the latest release requires Mac OS X v10.8 or v10.9 minimum

HT4623 missing apps on iphone4 forllowing intallation of IOS6 software . Has anyone had this problem?

I have an iphone 4 and just installed IOS6 software. All of my apps are no longer visible on the screen but are somewhere in my phone. I tried to sync my phone and even went to icloud but nothing has worked for me yet. Does anyone know how to resolve?
