Intalling iTunes problem
I am having trouble installing iTunes. When the status is at: Service Stopped, a screen pops up that says,
Service 'Ipodservice' (Ipodsevice) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficant privileges to stop system services.
Does anyone have any ideas what this may be? I can't figure this one out!!!!

hmmmm. perhaps let's try a "download, restart, then install strategy." (trying to make sure that the iTunes installer is minimally distracted.)
leave your ipod unplugged.
download and save a copy of the itunes installer to your hard drive. (do not run the install on line, and do not start the install by clicking on the iTunesSetup.exe (installer) file just yet.)
iTunes 7.1.0.59 Installer
shut down running applications and restart the PC.
do not open any other applications prior to attempting the iTunes install. switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.
does the install go through properly this time?

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

Itunes problem with windows Vista
ok i bought my touchsmart tx2 1025 with windows vista ultimate 64 bit and well i ve noticed that ..well since this is my third time i exchange this computer and i noticed there was a problem with the speakers when i was playing music that anytime during a song i would get this distorted sound like when u put a lot of volume in ipod headphones that it sounds like a crack. Well that happened in my computer even with low volumes.
However I played two times the same song on itunes and two times on windows media player.
Every single time on itunes the sound came as if the speakers were about to blow... like a crack..
Every single time on Windows media player it never sounded like that.
So i am pretty sure its an itunes problem. Does anyone know how to fix this.. i would rather use itunes than windows media player but i really hate the sound it makes sometimes because it shows about 2 to 3 times during one song.It's possible that the song your playing does indeed have a little audio distortion in it, some media players are capable of filtering it out in a silent way, others play a beep, hence with one song I have, if i play it in windows media player it goes on and then for a split second theres a beep, iTunes doesent seem to do it, so instead of filtering out the missing data, it plays it.
This is more likley a problem with the song than iTunes -
i re started my computer and re intalled itunes. all my music is on my iphone and i cannot get it back on itunes. when i try to sync it tells me i am going to loose all my music. i really don't wont to go through all my CD's again so can any one help

My computer failed and the main drive had to be formatted but all my music was on a separate internal hard drive. So I downloaded the latest iTunes , problem is it has found all my songs but seems to not recognize half of the album data, half of the artists, all of the dates and all ratings data.
I had a large part of it backed up on DVD's but it does not want to recognise them either?

when trying to launch facetime on mac, a message drops down that says "unable to verify email because it is already in use by another Apple ID". The mac tech things it's an itunes problem. Anybody?
You need to select the "Manage My Account" link and not the "Reset Your Password" link. Once you use the "Manage My Account" it will ask you to log in and in there you should see which email addresses are verified.

(iTunes) Problem with Windows installer package? I try to install the new version of iTunes but get an error "Problem with Windows installer package. A Program required for this install could not be run." Can anyone help shed some light for me as to how to correct this? I have tried to install the program through Chrome, Explorer and FireFox but have had no success. I have included a screenshot of the error. Hopefully it's visable. Thank you for any help.

When I try to intall iTunes I get the message 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to retry or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi'.
I do get a music player on screen with my tracks but it won't do anything else and the only discussions I've found about iTunes64.msi are about updates, not initial installation.

The steps in the second box (similar to those given above) are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I am unable to update an app, Chirps! USA. I have tried both wireless and when connected to the computer. I contacted the company and they said it was an iTunes problem. ANy suggestions?
Hi..
Delete the app then reinstall.
Hold the app icon down until all the apps jiggle then tap the x then tap Delete. Press the Home button once or twice to stop the jiggling.
Then go to the iTunes store and re download the app.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
That should download the most recent version including whatever update was available.
You won't be charged again. -

Problems with importing CDs - is it an iTunes problem or a computer problem

I just purchased a new iMac in August, and have had problems importing audio CDs into my iTunes library. Sometimes the computer completely skips over certain songs when importing or the songs are imported but have parts skipped over, almost like the cd is skipping while it is importing. This is happening quite frequently, and it is happening with cds that I know aren't scratched, etc, so there is no reason that I can think of that these wouldn't be importing just fine. I'm wondering if this is an iTunes issue or a computer issue. I don't want to bring my computer in to get serviced if this is just merely an iTunes problem.

I think it's because I have an Apple multitouch pad but it functions as a mouse so it's actually sending two notices. It doesn't do it on a touch screen device nor does it do it when everything is switched to mouse events, so I think it's just unique to Device Central and this particular type of mouse.
