If this is an application that you can access via a URL , you can create an iView using the URL iView template
Content Administration -> Portal Content -> "Create a new folder" -> "New iView"

Setting up a federated portal network is comparable to connecting your portal to a u201Cnormalu201D backend system. The steps of configuring a FPN in a nutshell are:

Project systems integration with portal (EP)

Dear all,
I have to integrate the projects systems module with Portal.(EP)
In portal transactional I views can be used to create projects which can be store in the R/3.
Now the issue is to create projects with out using Transactional I views. This should be a simple entry through portal, where in the user keys in the key fields and there by the project is created and scheduled.
For this I have tried with using business packages given by SAP to integrate with portal.
Now the issue is I can display the projects that are created in R/3 through portal and display the necessary fileds required for viewing (I views). Now the main problem is to create the project using these business packages so that the same get updated in the R/3.
But business packages do not have the option of creating the project. I am using the business packages for projects 50.3.1
Has any body come across this type of issue which has to be integrated with portal and subsequent creation of projects through portal
If any body has done this in any other way please kindly share on this.
Experts please throw some pointers on this.

UI Development of Biller Direct applications using NWDI

Hi Experts,
I am an Sap Portal Developer.I am new to Biller Direct Applications in Sap Portal.
We have already deployed Biller Direct 6.0 business packages in sap EP 7.0
Now We need to do UI customization for those applications.
For that reason I am supposed to develop track in NWDI.
Can you please explain me in steps creating the Track, dependencies to be added,SCA files needed.
Could you please explain me in steps from creating tracks to importing the SC into NWDS.

When it comes to NWDI / NWDS, it should be the same; i.e. the steps to create a track, to import SCAs into NWDI, to import development configuration from NWDI (DTR) to NWDS, to develop using NWDS, etc. so you can still use the links I sent for NWDI
Also, you might want to create your runtime systems (RTS) before creating a track because you'll need to connect your track to the RTSs.

Biller direct (EBPP) Payment Method

TR Expert,
Once we link the payment method to be used by Biller direct (SPRO> FSCM>Biller Direct>Process Integration with Account Receivable Accounting>Edit payment method) is there any requirement that Biller Direct payment method should be unique?
My question is if we can use a payment method in Biller Direct and also in Account Receivable (e.g. Direct Debit) with the same code? Is there any recommendation to not do that?

Retriving archived JPG document and displaying in Biller direct portal

If anyone has worked on Biller direct/EIPP/EBPP BADI's plz help me.
I need to display the archived JPG image when the user clicks on the hypelink in the biller direct front end. I need to know the exact parameters passed from the BADI to the front end.
I am getting the archived JPG parameters to the internal table as below

thank for your reply. I have not posted in SAP. customer has paid the payment in Portal and i have selected the payment for the line item. Now that line item is coming in progress condition (not in processed).
in SAP that line item is not active. If i will select the line item system will give the message that is line item is processed in biller direct.
please tell me the process of biller direct payments in SAP and then only in portal the payment line item will be go to the process item (now its in in process condition). is their any upload for the payment document in SAP.
please suggess me Standard payment process through Biller direct. then i will compare the present senarious.

Biller Direct Portal / Web Server

I plan to install Biller Direct onto our ERP Java Stack.
Can Biller Direct integrate to a web site without the use of an SAP portal?
I cannot locate any documents that clearly specifies the web server requirement.

We need to integrate (implement a Single Sign On solution) Sun ONE/iPlanet Messaging and Calendar servers with Portal 6.0. The Msg and Cal. servers do not use Portal Profile server as their DS and have a different DS.This directory server is the external DS for Portal. After users login to Portal, they should be able to access Msg and Cal. servers without login to them again.
1. How do we do this without writing a java code/servlet ?
2. Is there any way that we could configure DSAME to create the URL,add userID and password to it and forward that URL to above servers ?

Like in the portal version 3.0 these channels
are enabling SSO for messaging and calendar servers.
(I tested them with iMSG5.2 and Calendar5.1.1)

Deploy Issue with Java Biller Direct Component

Hello Gurus,
I am customizing the .jsp files of the Biller Direct Java component. Then i build them and deploy the .EAR file to server.
After that when i open the web page the changes are not reflected. Can any one let me know how do i build and deploy the J2EE DC's.

That's definitely a bug in 8.1. I filed CR111393 for it.
Can you show me your weblogic.log file? There's something wrong with
your application, and the deployment is failing. You should see a
message like: can't read ... right before the NullPointerException.

ok, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I'm just trying to deploy a simple .ear that contains 1 web module with a single
html file + servlet in it. I've used WebLogic builder to open the .ear, then
saved in WebLogic builder, then did a Deploy Module...
A quite similar technique works flawlessly in JBoss, but for some reason WebLogic
complains on this pretty simple example. Is this a bug in 8.1?
In this WebLogic deployment i've used the WebLogic builder to open the .ear and
then pressed Save which generated the WebLogic specific deployment descriptors.
Apart from that it's about the most simple .ear/.war example I can make.

Biller Direct Integration with FI-CA

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the integration with biller direct. The connection test says that everything is okay. But when I'm trying to logon the following message appears:
"A general problem has occurred within the logon. The error message is: . "
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
I think the XCM configuration is okay. The connection between the application and the SAP system is okay as well. I already made some customizing in FI-CA. Is there something I missed?

I created an example user in the sap system ECC 6.0 linked with an business partner (Object1006). So the user data are stored in the backend (FI-CA).
With FI-AR I had no problems, it works fine. So it seems that there is really a customizing or something missing in FI-CA.

Can google search B2C catalog details if CRM integrate with portal?

if CRM integrate with portal, it is possible that search engine(Google) can search catalog details, there is an OSS message and it seems that as long as they make the appropriate settings for web crawling and the page is static they can do that.
However, do you know if a Search Engine would be able to find the B2C catalog information that is sitting within the Portal (as this is framed and I think B2C needs to be non framed to be found)?

Barring other issues you may have with (a) the OSS message that explains how to create the crawler indexes for catalog items and (b) the ability to display catalog in Portal, a solution is theoretically possible.
<li>Give the [PCD (Portal Content Directory) URL navigation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2d/91e33edd37de63e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm] for the B2C catalog to the crawler generator. This should theoretically publish the carwler indexes with target to the portal PCD URL link for the particular catalog area or catalog item.
*Gotchas to watch out for*:
<li>Proxy, reverse proxy, firewall etc that may be used in the portal / non-portal scenario for external users. I can't give the details of how to solve such issues, but that would require a good consultant. So, plan to consider these in your project plan.
My advise: first check this in non-portal environment to eliminate any issues around the crawler program itself.

Biller Direct Portal debugging in backend R3

Hi,
We have Biller Direct implmented for our customer.
We need to debug a Contact List Link present in the Biller Direct Portal in the Backend,because when we click the link in Portal a BAPI program is callaed in the Backend.
What we need is to debug it, in the sense that --> we put a BREAKPOINT in the BAPI program in the back end, when a user clicks on the Contact List link in the BD portal, it should stop and should not execute the whole PROGRAM in the backend.
But here when we put a BreakPoint in the BAPI program in Backend R3 and user clicks on the Link in portal, the Porgram is Executed Completely without stopping.
What could be the issue? How can we debug to know what exactly happens in the backend when user clicks on the link in Portal?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanx for the response.
But we have already tried placing a External Breakpoint in the ABAP and called the link from the Portal,but it did not work.The Program executed completely without stopping.
But can you suggest whether there are any settings which need to be done in R3 for debugging? Any configuration or debugging specific settings in Back end which we might be missing?
Can Basis team help in this?
