why do you want to store .exe files in the portal. Be aware there might be users with different OS which do not support .exe files.
As Michael suggested you can upload the .exe files (like any other file) in a KM repository and make them available through an ordinary KMNavigation iView.
Maybe you could explain why you want to "integrate" the files into SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Unless you can find some sort of a converter out on the web,
I think you are out of luck. I am aware of the SoThink SWF
decompiler (
http://www.sothink.com/product/flashdecompiler
) but I'm somewhat doubtful it will work on .EXE files. Perhaps it
will.

Deploye par file into portal

When I tried to deploye the par file into portal using file->Export->PAR file, I am getting an error says "unfortunately the upload of your PAR was not sucessfule. ....
Error message: Upload seems to have faild" ... Because of this I am not able to upload the PAR file to portal. Any Idea? Please help

Accessing KM Document Iview which contain .exe file from Portal logon page.

Dear All,
I was trying to access the KM document ivew(where I uploaded an .exe file in KM and created an ivew for that) in my portal logon page which is customized.
I am calling the ivew through an html command "href".
Now my issue is, while clicking on that link, that exe file is opening with the full portal ivew path name without any extension.
But the actual exe file of same size which is uploaded is getting downloaded and saved with out any extension. I always have to change the name and give .exe extension for that to open properly.
So, can some one suggest me how to open the actual exe file with the extension?

Your problem seems to be different, I've no idea.
But we already fixed our problem, I forgot to post. Here's our solution:
The solution was to create a KM Docs iView with anonymous authentication schema pointing to the download file. Then we created an URL iView pointing to this KM Doc with appending the filename AGAIN to the URL (because otherwise the iView ID will appear as filename). In the page a hyperlink now is pointing to the URL iView and after clicking it, the download starts with the correct filename.

Link local exe file into URL iview

Hi,
I am trying to integrate an VB application ( basically it is a .exe file installed in local path ) through a url iview . The exe will reside on every client machines and the path I have given is like 'file://c:/Program Files/myfolder/test.exe'
But when I access this application , I am getting an error icon in the left bottom of the IE and when I clicked that icon , it is giving an 'Access Denied Error 'message
It might be some IE security settings which we need to do. I am not able to find what it is.

I dont know if SAP provides any iview that support this. However you can do it with javascript and shell commands by follow this tutorial.

Integrate Citrix Application into portal / Start Citrix from portal

Hi,
I would like to integrate some citrix metaframe applications into the portal.Or start the citrix within the portal.
I know SAP does have this solution in their teaching environment. On SAP courses I worked with this.
How is this made? I tried it with an URL iView but it doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

How to create a portlet to upload/delete files into portal pages

I wanted to know if it is possible to create a simple UI wherein a user could choose a file from his HDD and upload it to the page as an item.I know this can be done by editing the page,but when the user clicks on edit he would have to use the default portal interface to do the same, i want to avoid precisely that.
If possible then how do I go about making it.This UI would also require that the user be able to select from a list of previously uploaded files and delete some of them.This i require so that any authenticated portal user could access/downloaded the uploaded files given the url to the same.

You can use the WebDAV feature in Portal Release 2 to provide a simple interface for uploading and managing files. In addition, the content management APIs can be used to build custom interfaces. These APIs are available for Portal 3.0.9 and will soon be available for Release 2. There is no Delete API, but one is planned for an upcoming release.

How to deploy existing JSR 168 portlets (in war file) into portal?

I have some JSR 168 portlets built and tested against another portal server that I would like to deploy in Bea portal server. They are packaged as a war file. I have a test portal and I am able to "develop" some new portlets in the Workshop but what I really want to do is just deploy the portlets as is. I have deployed the war using the web based deployment tool but I don't know how to "use" the portlets within a portal. Shouldn't this be easy? The docs don't discuss it much. Thanks for any help.

How integrate swf files into my flash

Hi, I´m new to flash programming, and I have to take an
existing swf and make some small changes to it. I decompiled it
into an fla file but there are quite a few sprites which are
themselves swf files which did not get into the decompiled fla.
How do I put them back into the project so that when I make

Integrate Business workflow into Portal

Hi All,
I read the document "How to Configure the UWL.doc" Ver 1.0.
After following the steps given out there, i am stuck in one place and dont know how to proceed. I am writing down what i have done so far.
1.Created a system in the SLD
2.Mapped the Portal user to system user
3.Adding the UWL iView to User Role
4.Register the System with UWL
5.Register the System Item Types with UWL
After this, i dont how to proceed and how to achieve my requirement. i.e expose the Inbox functionality which is there in TC SBWP to the portal user.

Unable to save files via WebDAV into portal

My Windows Explorer client is running on a windows 2000 environment.
We have set up webDAV to be able to save files directly in to portal from Windows Explorer. I cannot get this to work.
I have a connection and can browse all pages in portal via Win Explorer, and also open files and save them back. I can also drag and drop files into portal from other folders on our file server. When I try to save directly though from word or when downloading from other server directly into portal, I get error message: "You cannot save into the folder specified. Please choose another location."

What version are you on? In 9.0.2.6, more detailed error messages are written to the WebDAV user's personal page (if one exists). Look there to see what the problem is.
If you're using 9.0.2, I recommend upgrading to 9.0.2.6 (or 9.0.4 when available). The WebDAV feature in particular is much more stable in that release.

How can I return files in Trash, more than 1 at a time? I can place many files into Trash at a time.

I placed many unix.exe files into Trash, more than one at a time. I recently updated 'QuickTime' and the Mac version of 'SilverLight"
(name might be totally 'correct). I don't know if removing these files can impede my iMac 2008 running OS 10.6.8(updated SnowLeopard).
I know I can 'return' one file from Trash at a time. When I try to return more than one ('mouse click' and 'drag'
over 2 or more files, the'return' option isn't listed. Is there a way I can either 'return all' or return more than one file
at a time?

Only one at a time. But where are they from? Did you delete system files or are these Windows files (.exe is a Windows extension?)

How to include and call exe file in jar?

Hi, I am writing a Java application that calls an external exe file to accomplish some tasks. In order to make the program more user friendly, I would like to package the Java application and the exe file into one JAR file and distribute that JAR file to users. I tried to package all these files by running the following command:
jar cmf manifest.txt java_class_file exe_fileThe manifest.txt contains only the following entry:
Main-Class: java_class_fileHowever, when I execute the program with java -jar bundle.jar, the JVM complains that it cannot find the exe file. (Everything works fine when I run the original class file with java)
Would anyone kindly teach me how to do this?

You cannot call an exe file in a jar.
You can have the jar unpack the exe and then run it however.
