  • E-Business Suite Integration with Oracle Identity Federation for SAML

    Has anyone developed a way to use OIF for e-Business Suite authentication through SAML rather than using the standard Identity Management stack of apps?
    Today we have Oracle e-Business Suite 115.10.2 using OSSO through OID with WNA for zero sign-on (no login, just pass-through, based on AD credentials). Our domain controllers are Windows 2003 but we are in the process of upgrading them to Windows 2008 R2, where the OSSO stack is not supported unless we globally set the 2008 R2 domain controllers to use DES encryption instead of the default AES encryption. (See Oracle note 1076018.1)
    When deploying OSSO, we encountered a similar issue with Windows 7 workstations would not work with OSSO unless we set the workstation policy not to use AES encryption. (See Oracle note 973190.1)
    We are not inclined to continue to use DES encryption and we have obstacles moving to 11g iDM/OAM/OID from OSSO. I am exploring the possibility continuing to keep one 2003 domain controller in production, and pointing OSSO to that, until we can move to the 11g iDM stack.
    Meanwhile, we have ongoing frustration with how complicated SSO is with the e-Business Suite. Sure, it works, once you climb the mountain to set it up, and we don't have that many issues in production. But the implementation of SSO for e-Business Suite is simply complex. The trip from the workstation back to an EBS session is operationally somewhat brittle. I guess some of us relish complexity. Certainly there is pride in understanding something like this. But, after a while, when the trickle of tickets from the Help Desk never completely dries up, you get tired of complexity and you seek something simpler.
    So, instead of this path:
    Workstation > EBS > OID > AD / Kerberos > Workstation
    (and I didn't even mention F5 switch with reverse proxy servers ...)
    Why can't we have this?
    Workstation with certificate > OIF with SAML > EBS session.
    Has anyone done that?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello JJ,
    We are facing the same issue. Oracle has recommanded us to install
    HTML-DB on the same database as our Apps 11i.
    What we still have to figure out is whether is use APPS schema for the
    HTML-DB workspaces, or use a different schema.
    How is it configured at your site?

  • E-business suite  OID

    Hi,
    I need to make a JSF application running in an Application Server 10.1.3. Users of this application must be the same users of an e-business suite 11.5.10 installation.
    Does the e-business suite come with an OID?
    Is there a way to connect to this OID?
    In case that EBS doesn’t come with an OID, can you point me to a document of how to configure EBS to authenticate against a OID (SSO)?
    Thanks a lot in advance

  • Reconcilliation with E-Business Suite and OID using DIP?

    I am planning a E-Business Suite (11.5.10) / SSO (IDM 10.1.4.0.1) implementation using AD sync and WNA. On both the AD and E-Business Suite sides there are existing users with account names that do, and do not match. We would like to reconcile these existing accounts as part of the initial load into OID, rather than use the "link on the fly" or "auto link user" capabilities to link users on first login. I cannot see in the documentation how this would be approached using the DIP. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so point me in the right direction?

    Ryan
    You can do this by first loading your existing ActiveDirectory accounts to OID, and then updating the USER_GUID field on FND_USER table with the corresponding orclguid of the user entry on OID.
    You can either update this table directly or use the FND_USER_PKG api. There are some notes on Metalink about this but they are intented for when you delete and recreate a user account with the same login. (ex, note 399117.1). But dont expect much help from support if you have trouble.
    Also you can expect to have some trouble since there will be some logins only on Oracle Applications and your network admin might creates a new account with a login that already exists on Oracle Applications and is linked to a different login on the network.
    Best Regards,
    Luis

  • How to integrate Oracle Policy Automation (OPA) with E-Business Suite

    Hi All,
    we would like to know, how to integrate OPA to E-Business Suite Modules. we would like to integrate OPA to one of our Public Sector Client.
    Any Pointers / links / documentation, please mail to me on my id: [email protected] or you can call me on my mobile: +91 99897 18865
    Regards

    My understanding is that the standard EBS web service framework can be used to make calls to the OPA Determinations Server, and this is fairly straightforward.
    If anyone has direct experience in this area, it would be good to hear from them.

  • Integrate an Apex Application with the E-Business Suite 11i

    Hi !
    I'm currently working to get connected to APEX (Application Express 3.2.1.00.11) using an E-Business Suite 11i form function then using the ICX cookie.
    I'm using a document created by Rod West(consultant at Cabot Consulting) to help me doing this connection.
    The document is : http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/pdf/apex_ebs_wp_cabot_consulting.pdf
    I always have errors when I try to get connected using the method suggested in the document.
    The error I have received is :
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist ORA-00942: table or view does not exist ORA-06512: at "APPS.ICX_SEC", line 2388 ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
    This error seems to come from wfa_sec.getsession(:P101_USERNAME) used in the Before Header process of the login page(Page101).
    See code here (Figure 10 in the document) :
    BEGIN
    wfa_sec.getsession(:P101_USERNAME);
    :P101_PASSWORD :=
    XXAPX_SECURITY_PKG.generate_hash
    (FND_GLOBAL.user_name);
    IF :P101_PASSWORD IS NOT NULL THEN
    APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.login(
    P_UNAME => :P101_USERNAME,
    P_PASSWORD => :P101_PASSWORD,
    P_SESSION_ID => v('APP_SESSION'),
    P_APP_PAGE => :APP_ID||':1'
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN NULL;
    END;
    I have done a "GRANT EXECUTE ON apps.WFA_SEC" to my APEX Schema, so the APEX Schema should have access to everything used by the package... I have tried to "GRANT EXECUTE ON" ICX_SESSIONS but I still have the same error...
    Do I need to do other "GRANT" ? Have you experienced the same problem ?
    Thanks for your help !

    Hi !
    Yes, I have already created synonyms but I still got the same errors...the error seems to be related to a table used in the package icx_sec...I have tried to grant and create synonym for tables icx_transactions and icx_sessions but I still got the error. Any ideas ?
    I have also tried to use the method (OWA_COOKIE.send) suggested in the 2007 version of the Rod West's document (the method you mentionned in the thread) and I'm able to get connected to my APEX application using the E-Business Menu but I have an intermittent problem with this method.. In fact, some days I'm able to get connected to APEX at the first try but some days I received "Invalid Login Credentials" at the first try and at the second try I get connected...And we haven't found any reasons yet for the intermittent "Invalid Login Credentials" ?
    Have you experienced the same intermittent problem on your side ?
    Thanks !

  • Problems with data migration from E-Business Suite 11i to OID.

    Hi everyone i'm trying to migrate data between Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and Oracle Internet Directory.
    I'm following the guidelines from the document: Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i with Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Single Sign On.
    I have created a intermediate LDIF file that will converted to final LDIF file by ldifmigrator utility. But an error occurs when I try to disable a certain profile in the phase of converting the Intermediate LDIF file to final LDIF file. I am running the oidprovtool as cn=orcladmin and the syntax is as follows:
    oidprovtool operation=disable \
    ldap_host=portal10g.skyrr.is \
    ldap_port=3060 \
    ldap_user_dn=cn=oracleadm \
    ldap_user_password=mypasswd \
    application_dn="orclApplicatonCommonName=K95LSP,cn=EBusiness,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext,dc=skyrr,dc=is" \
    profile_mode=BOTH
    The command returns:
    ERROR: Invalid directory credentials. Please check ldap_user_dn and ldap_user_password parameters.
    I'm able to bind whith ldapbind and the syntax is as follows:
    ldapbind -h portal10g.skyrr.is \
    -p 3060
    -D cn=orcladmin
    -w ******
    Can anyone help my to resolve the "Invalid directory credentials" error so that I can continue my Applications 11i migration.
    I must admit that i'm new to Oracle Internet Directory and all advices and pointers are highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sammi

    Hello,
    As Scott says, the fact that you're using HTTPS rather than HTTP is pretty much transparent to the mod_plsql handler (well in the respect that you don't really need to do anything 'special' in your application I mean).

  • How to integrate E-Business Suite and OWB

    I want to extract data from an E-business Suite (EBS) database. In the OWB 10.2 userguide is a paragraph, Enabling Integration with Oracle E-business Suite, telling me to import some metadata tables from the EBS-database. But how do I go from there to extracting the application data from the EBS database?
    Jaap.

    Hi Jaap,
    Take a look at the following paper on OTN as to how the EBS connector works in 10.2 (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/pdf/ERP%20Data%20Integration%20with%20OWB.pdf)
    In general this works like most import and loads in OWB. You basically read the EBS metadata catalog and then once that information is in OWB, you drag these tables into mappings.
    Hope this answers the questions,
    JP
