Integrate OWA 2010 with BIS

Hi,
I access my office email using outlook web access 2010 through web browser. I'm now trying to configure outlook web access 2010 with BIS but could not succeed.
Please can anyone advice how to configure outlook web access 2010 with BIS?
Cheers
Vimal

OK...so that's a different error message than first reported. Typically, it has to do with the Mailbox Name...that has always been the trickiest I've found. Also, I never could configure OWA via the BB interface to BIS. I always had to use my carrier BIS website from a PC and then could configure it. See this (the second section, where it discusses using the carrier BIS website...the first section is for the device interface):
KB03133How to integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
Also, some of the KB's I linked above might apply, as well as this:
KB15173Locate the mailbox name for a Microsoft Outlook Web Access 2007 email account
You also can search the public KB's to see if there are any more that might be useful to your situation.
Good luck!

• BIS and Exchange 2010 with TMG

Dear all,
     I stumped into this problem whereby my client has an Exchange 2010 with mixed-mode mobile users of Active Sync and BlackBerry.
They have this https://mail.***.com.my as their OWA URL and credentials should be entered as:
Username: Domain\Username
     Password: Password
This convention is the same irregardless users accessing from OWA or to setup Active Sync or BlackBerry.
Question are:
1. How do I setup BIS account on my BlackBerry? Method I use is log into my telco portal but the credentials I entered does not recognised by the system.
2. Alternatively, I tried to set it direct on my BlackBerry but was prompt the same error as above which is 'Username must be at least 4 characters'.
3. Does naming convention setup same for Active Sync users and BlackBerry users?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BIS itself is provided to you by your wireless service provider. With hundreds of different carriers in the world and dozens of different methods each, there's no way to be sure how to guide you with specifics. I suggest you ring them up and talk to them about how to enable BIS on your BB.

I'm not sure how ActiveSync works, but the configuration instructions for OWA are here:

KB18567BlackBerry

• Problem with BIS & OWA

Hi, I have a problem with the setting up of an OWA account on BIS website.  I think my only fix may be to change my email address formatting but I do not want to nor should I have to as this has been our email setup for years.  It would be appreciated if someone has another method or someway of telling Blackberry to fix the website.
The problem is that my user's email format is [email protected]  When I enter this in the OWA account setup page it attempts to authenticate the login using the http://mail.somesite.com/exchange/joe.blog url which is OK but it uses the joe.blog as the user's domain login which it is not correct.  The login name is Joe Blog.
I can see in my event viewer where BIS has attempted to log in with joe.blog and of course is being denied access.
I would appreciate any feedback. TA

I don't know if BIS supports this ... If you can get it to connect I think you can get it to work ... you should be able to enter a different username from email name.
If you've found a solution through a post; please mark it as a solution.

• New Lync 2010 Deployment With OWA 2010 Integration Not Working

I just installed Lync 2010 and it works fine with the Lync 2010 client.
Our Exchange Server is Exchange 2010 SP3 and I can't get the OWA integration to work.
I found various blogs with instructions, but they are all so old that I'm not sure all the prerequisite software hotfixes downloads they are pointing to install are still valid for Exchange 2010 SP3 and the Lync 2010 with all the latest updates.
For a little while I got it partially working in OWA where some of the Lync integration was showing, but it was grayed out and the contacts lists would never load.  Now that I have tried several solutions, it no longer even partially works.
I think I need to clear all the integration settings from both Exchange and Lync, so I can start over with valid instructions.
What are the current instructions and current download files needed with the most up to date versions of Lync 2010 and Exchange 2010?
I also need to make sure that the syntax of the all the server and certificate names the various commands and wizards ask for are exactly correct.  Some of it is confusing on whether it is the actual DNS name, Exchange certificate SAN name or something
else.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Subhash,
I have done the troubleshooting but I didn't find any problem at server side. I will send you mail also with all EXBPA report and as well DC, HC and Mailbox servers' Application Log and System Log.
Below are the questions's answers which was asked by you:
1.     Please check whether you can send email via Outlook.
I am not able to open the MS Outlook. Please check all details in this thread : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/c491c5c7-7d6f-48ff-97fa-6bf83d94e53c
2.     Please run EXBPA to have a health scan.
I have run the EXBPA and didn't see any critical Problem. I have took the screen shot and report. Please have a look in below screen shot link:
a. http://cid-31ba948d0da4d57e.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/EXBPA.docx                                                                            - Final Report

The error which I received in EXBPA, that allready ignored by you and told that it is bug in EXBPA. Have a look here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/d4bb03bb-db84-4a8b-83ba-19937d7dcacf
3.     Please check application log, whether any error event logged there. They could come from ADAccess related error or etc.
I didn't see any ADAccess event on the server. For this I have left my lab PC open and I will check again.
4.     We find that if mail .que gets corrupt, then this issue will occur, please try to move the affected user to another store and then test the issue.
I am facing this problem with all users (7 users). Anyway I moved one user from one server Mailbox Database (2mbx2010) to Other Server Mailbox Database (mbx2010). After that
a) Rebooted the Workstation
b) Login successfully with same user.
c) Delete the Old MS Outlook Profile
d) Create New profile for same user without any problem.
e) Tried to login in MS Outlook and got the same error. : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/c491c5c7-7d6f-48ff-97fa-6bf83d94e53c
f) Open the OWA successfully for Same user.
g) Tried to send mail but again mail went to Drafts Folder.
5.     I noticed that you test the issue after you close outlook. I recommend you to reboot your pc and then access
mailbox via OWA to test the issue.
I tried you suggested option, but sorry it also couldn't help.
6.  You also check your disk space.
         All Servers have Enough Disk Space. Check the EXBPA Report.
7. You may run EXTRA to get log information for further troubleshooting.
      Need more time for this.
8. Please save application log, system log as *.evt file, then send them with EXTRA,EXBPA report to [email protected] .
       I have sent it as your mentioned mail address OR, you can get the mentioned log from below link also:
       a) http://cid-31ba948d0da4d57e.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/WDC2010%7C_APPLICATION.evtx           - DC/GC Application Log

There will be some error log you will be that the system is not able to communicate with DC/DC, MBX or HC at everyday around 3 AM or some time 6 PM Evening also. These error came because I have installed VM on Windows 7 Workstation and after 45 min or one hrs. if I don't work on PC, then pc goes to sleep. so you may ignore these alerts.
I hope my answer will give you some clue and I expect more help from your side.

• SharePoint 2010 with OAM 11g

We are currently trying to integrate SharePoint 2010 server with OAM 11g with 10g webgate. In our environment SharePoint site is configured with Claims based authentication with LDAP provider for membership. We have performed all the configurations based on the Oracle documentation with validation mode as OAMHttp.
We are seeing the following behavior after this integration.
1)     The user requests access to an SharePoint Site
2)     Webgate protecting the site intercepts the request, determines if the resource is protected, and challenges the user.
3)     The user enters their OAM credentials; Webgate contacts the OAM Server, which verifies the credentials from user store and authenticates the user. Webgate generates the OAM native SSO cookie (ObSSOCookie), which enables single sign-on and sets the User ID (to username) header variable in the HTTP request and redirects the user to SharePoint site.
Here, instead of taking user to the home page of the site, the SharePoint login page is displayed again.

That's what I see randomly, every few minutes, while using Outlook Web App (OWA) 2010. It makes using OWA virtually impossible because the page will reload in the midst of typing a mail message, losing the work in progress.
Some details:
No other window or tab had that webpage open, of course. Even after a fresh boot where loading a OWA bookmark was Safari was the only action taken, this occurs after what appears to be a random period of time.
Two different OWA acocunts that I have access to show this issue
Neither of the two OWA accounts showed this issue under OS X 10.8 and Safari 6
Firefox 24 on OS X 10.9 does not have this issue with the same OWA servers

I had 2 extensions installed, AdBlock and Reddit Enhancement Suite, with both at the most current version. I disabled extensions entirely and OWA appears to be stable now. Disappointing because these are very common extensions, but I'll do without them for now and keep an eye on their sites for updates.
My only remaining issue is that the Rogers OneNumber (http://www.hellorogersonenumber.com/) web phone now hangs in Safari, even with extensions disabled, but that's an item for another thread if I can't figure it out today.
Thanks for your help Carolyn!

Go to the '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Mozilla Add-ons Web Page]''' {web link}
(There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.
You can also get a separate program that can do the downloading
leaving the browser free.

• Conversation view in OWA 2010 - Super-duper slow expansion

Hello,
I know it has been asked countless time to disable conversation in OWA and that it can't be done. I think it's a great feature but the problem we face is that conversation expansion take a very (very) long time, sometimes looping forever when access externally
through TMG 2010. This give users the feeling that OWA 2010 is unusable and they have to use the "light" interface to be able to get any work done.
Internally, everything is lightning fast but through TMG 2010 I can count the sheeps before the conversation expand (from 2.5 seconds to 10+ seconds).
I've been googling for months around the problem without finding any answer. To clarify, everything else is working fine (message preview is fast, folder browsing is fast, etc). The problem is that users try to double-click to open a message instead of using
the preview pane actions (which expand the conversation). After the delay (that sometimes get stuck and loop forever) they have to double click the message again to finally be able to reply and/or read it.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

I can honestly say that, being a member of the ISA/TMG team at Microsoft, I have worked tons of OWA Publishing issues through both ISA and TMG. I have never once heard a customer report this particular issue. I disagree with Xiu when he says he suspects
a TMG configuration issue. Usually the TMG configuration is pretty cut and dry. It either works or it doesn't. The fact that everything else but conversations works fine is another factor that leads me to believe TMG is not the culprit here. Whenever there
are performance related issues where something is "slow" it is most often a symptom of something else that is wrong in the environment. It could be networking issues, it could be too much load on the Exchange servers, it could be bad NIC drivers, etc. There
are a whole lot of variables involved.
I think the heart of your question was is there a way to disable Conversations in OWA. That is certainly a question for the Exchange folks because there is no way to disable this through TMG.
The bottom line is that this is a pretty complex issue and will be very difficult, if not impossible, to troubleshoot via this forum. My recommendation is that you open a support case with Microsoft originating with the Exchange team. They can pull in the
TMG team as needed. You are going to need to get traces from "end to end" to figure out exactly where the slowdown is occurring. This will involve a tool such as HTTP Watch on the client, Netmon captures taken on all involved adapters on TMG, and Netmon captures
taken on the Exchange servers as well. Additionally you will probably need to temporarily bridge your traffic between TMG and Exchange to HTTP so the traces can be read and conversations followed. It will still be encrypted between TMG and Client and that
is what HTTP Watch will help us with.
You may get lucky and someone that had this exact issues see it and responds but it sounds like you have already put a lot of hours in trying to figure this out. It would probably be worth the price of a Support Incident at this point.

• Integrate OAS Portal with E1 - WSRP Producer

Hello,
I want to integrate OAS Portal with E1. I am following: "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Release 8.98 Portal Reference Guide for All Portals and Platforms" and I have a doubt about how to register a new WSRP producer for Oracle Portal Server.
I am working with:
- OAS Portal 10.1.4 (integrated with Windows Server 2003 SP1)
- JDE E1 8.12 Tools 8.98
- Each one are in a different physical machine.
I am not sure what is exactlly WSRP producer. In the manual, it says that it is: JDE E1 HTML Web Server.
When I amb in the second step to register the new WSRP (Provider Description (WSDL)) I have the following error:
"Internal Error *(WWC-00006)*
Unexpected error: *ORA-00932*: Inconsistent datatype waited an IN argument at position 2 that is an instance of an Oracle
type convertible to an instance of a user defined Java class has obtained an Oracle type that could not be converted to a java class *(WWC-35000)*"
In WSDL URL I have specified:
http://HOST_E1:8083/jde/wsdl/WSRPService.wsdl
And if it is acceded via web browser, the result is:
- <definitions targetNamespace="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:wsdl" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:bind="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:bind" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/">
<import namespace="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:bind" location="local.wsdl" />
- <service name="WSRPService">
- <port name="WSRPBaseService" binding="bind:WSRP_v1_Markup_Binding_SOAP">
<soap:address location="http:///HOST_E1:8083/jde/WSRPBaseService" />
</port>
- <port name="WSRPServiceDescriptionService" binding="bind:WSRP_v1_ServiceDescription_Binding_SOAP">
<soap:address location="http:///HOST_E1:8083/jde/WSRPServiceDescriptionService" />
</port>
</service>
</definitions>
1) Is correct this result?
2) In which file can I find the port number that I need to register the WSRP?
I am not sure about this port, but it is the number port to enter to JDE's Web (http://HOST_E1:8083/jde/E1Menu.maf)
3) Is necessary to do any step before?
Thank you and regards

I have found the following manual:
"Oracle® Application Server Portal Developer's Guide 10g Release 2" - Configuring Your Application Server to Run JPS-Compliant Portlets (including Data Sources's Configuration).
I have followed the necessary steps, but when I tried to test it (Registering and Viewing Your Portlet's Section (create a WSRP Provider)), I have the same errorr:
Internal error WWC-00006
Unexpected error ORA-00932
WWC-35000
I have verified via web browser my WSRP Producer WSDL Page, and it is correct.
I have tested with different users (orcladmin, portal, etc), even I have included them in PORTAL_ADMINISTRATORS group. But it doesn't work...
Another thing I have tested is to apply 4640471 patch, although I am not sure it should be necessary, because in ReadMe file, it is only for Solaris Systems, and I am working with Windows Server 2003 SP1...
I am really desesperate with this error, do you have any idea to solve it?
Thank you and regards.

Hi,
What’s Exchange Version? Sometimes, after Installing Exchange 2010 SP 1, Searching via OWA or Outlook Online Mode may Fail. If so, please try the following solution:
Download the script
Repair-ExchangeSearchSymlinks.ps1 from the Script Center.
Copy the Repair-ExchangeSearchSymlinks.ps1 script to the Scripts directory on the Mailbox server (default installation is C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\v14\Scripts).
On the afflicted Mailbox server, open the Exchange Management Shell by right-clicking the shortcut and selecting “Run as Administrator”.
Within the Exchange Management Shell, navigate to the Exchange Scripts directory.
Within the Exchange Management Shell, run the following script: .\Repair-ExchangeSearchSymlinks.ps1
Within the Exchange Management Shell, run the following script (without the symbols [] and substitute the database name(s) for any databases you wish to reset: .\ResetSearchIndex.ps1 [-force] <dbname> [<dbname>]...
You will receive an Event ID 109 when the rebuilding of the index starts for each database and an Event ID 110 for each database when the index rebuild has completed.
After receiving Event ID 110 for each database, test to make sure search functions correctly with both OWA and Outlook operating in Online Mode.

• OWA 2010 + Chrome 37 Modal Pop Ups

Hi all,
Chrome 37 came out last last month with deprecated support for the JavaScript cmd showModalDialog.
OWA 2010 seems to use this widely (address book, file attachment pop ups etc) so it's now largely unuseable for composing in Chrome 37.  Some useful links on the problem are:
http://its.uiowa.edu/alert/102990
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/4fns56FokxY
The MS Dynamics team has acknowledged the problem and suggested a registry hack here:
http://msdynamicswiki.com/2014/09/10/an-error-occurs-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm-when-adding-or-editing-status-reasons-using-google-chrome/
Can anyone from Microsoft comment on if the Exchange team are going to be working on a fix?
Thanks, Ryan.

I believe that the development team are very well aware of the problem and will fix the issues in Exchange 2010 and 2013. Unfortunately you'll just have to wait for the work to be done in OWA and EAC. In the interim, you can either use the registry hack
to put off the day of doom until May 2015 (the fixes should definitely be available by then) or move to another browser. It seems like Opera and Mozilla are going to deprecate the showModalDialog method too.

• OWA 2010- How to add picture on signature

Hello guys!
We´re using OWA 2010, and we need now to set a e-mail signature with a embed logo of my company.
Unfortunately the image after some hours it comes with a RED X, and this condition persists.
Is there a way to set the image as copying it, but be there without this error?
Thanks

Hyperlinked Graphic in an OWA Signature?  Well Yes, As a Matter of Fact!
Roll up your sleeves, pour a cup of coffee or tea and let's zap OWA into submission.  This little ditty not only allows you to insert a graphic into your OWA signature, it also hyperlinks that graphic to your web site -- and you won't have to rely on Outlook's
or OWA's "caveman-walking-around-in-animal-skins-primitive" signature editors to do this.  Oh, this also includes your clickable email address as well.
To be sure, you are about to achieve a couple of things OWA was not designed to do; and trust me, if you are successful, you may very well become an IT Rock Star, even if your boss(es) don't realize it.  Suddenly, you will also realize that you have pushed
Office Outlook beyond it's Microsoft design specification as well.
This has been tested and works great with OWA running through IE7 & IE8 for Windows XP, IE9 for Windows 7, IE10 for Windows 8 and is cross-browser compatible with Chrome24 and Firefox18 (both of which are the latest versions at this writing.  It runs
on all 32-bit and 64-bit AMD and Intel PC desktops and laptops.  This signature will be properly displayed in email sent to iPhones 3, 4, 4s & 5) and iPads (1, 2 & 3).  The signature you create for OWA is also compatible with Outlook 2010
and backward-compatible with Outlook 2007 and 2003.
You may not need to know this, but here it is anyway: Key OWA client environment variables for reference are: Exchange Server 2010; Outlook Web App experience: Premium; Client Access server version: 14.3.123.0; Client Access server platform: 64bit; Mailbox
server Microsoft Exchange version: 14.2.247.0; Required version of Silverlight: 2.0.31005.0.
If you are VERY careful, this will work for you the FIRST time:
1.) Put your graphic file (.jpg, .gif, .png, or whatever) onto your web site (this will become externally referenced in the below HTML).  If you have server-side control of your Exchange server, place your graphic there; otherwise, a safe, out-of-the-way
place on your web site will do -- and write down the path to this graphic.
2.) Open Notepad on a Windows XP/7/8 PC with access to the internet.
3.) Copy and paste the below HTML code into Notepad:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML xmlns:o = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office">
<HEAD><TITLE>FCB_Sig_Template</TITLE>

<META name=GENERATOR content="MSHTML 8.00.6001.19394">
</HEAD>
<BODY><DIV><DIV style="WIDOWS: 2; TEXT-TRANSFORM: none; TEXT-INDENT: 0px; FONT: 12px Arial; WHITE-SPACE: normal; ORPHANS: 2; LETTER-SPACING: normal; COLOR: rgb(0,128,128); WORD-SPACING: 0px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width:
0px" align=left>
YOUR_NAME<BR>
YOUR_TITLE<BR>
YOUR_COMPANY_NAME<BR>
YOUR_BUSINESS_UNIT_OR_DEPARTMENT<BR>
YOUR_STREET_ADDRESS<BR>
CITY, CT &nbsp;ZIPCODE<BR>
Tel.: XXX.XXX.XXXX<BR>
Fax.: XXX.XXX.XXXX<BR>
<A href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</A><BR>
<A href="http://www.YOUR_WEB_SITE.COM/">
<IMG style="BORDER-BOTTOM-STYLE: none; BORDER-RIGHT-STYLE: none; BORDER-TOP-STYLE: none; BORDER-LEFT-STYLE: none" src="http://www.YOUR_WEB_SITE.COM/PATH/YOUR_GRAPHIC_FILE_NAME" width=XXX height=XXX></A>
</DIV>
<DIV style="WIDOWS: 2; TEXT-TRANSFORM: none; TEXT-INDENT: 0px; FONT: 10px Arial; WHITE-SPACE: normal; ORPHANS: 2; LETTER-SPACING: normal; COLOR: rgb(0,0,0); WORD-SPACING: 0px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px" align=left>
<SPAN style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Sent via Microsoft Outlook Web Application (OWA)</SPAN>
</DIV></DIV></BODY></HTML>
4.) Look at the HTML you just pasted into Notepad and REPLACE signature items with your real information (e.g. NAME, etc., and replace X's with real numbers.
5.) Save your modified HTML to the desktop.
6.) Open Internet Explorer (not Chrome or Firefox) and run the HTML file you just created.
7.) Log into OWA and open up the OWA signature editor (click Options-See All Options-Settings-Mail).  Make sure the current signature is blank!
8.) Copy and paste what you see displayed by Internet Explorer into the OWA signature editor and save it.
9a.) TEST.
9b.) Tweak font face, size, color to suit your needs.  The above example is an Arial font face, color is teal.  Repeat step 9a as needed.
You're done.
And get this -- you can copy and paste the contents of an OWA email signature editor into any Outlook email signature editor, save it, test it, and thereby create or recreate any Outlook email signature, regardless of version.
P.S. I recently rolled out this solution for over 200 users working at a bank, so this isn't a hypothetical -- it's a very real, deployed solution.

• Enable OWA 2010 Spell Check On As Default?

The default setting for the Outlook Web App for Exchange 2010 is off and if users want spell check in OWA, they have to go into Options and find the check box to enable it.
We would like to set the OWA spell check default to be enabled, so that the users only have to go into the options if they want to turn it off.
How can we set the default setting to be spell check enabled for OWA 2010?

We need to get Windows 8.1 Pro licenses for every computer (to join them to the domain), but we would not need to purchase a separate volume license for every computer.
My understanding is that we only need a single 8.1 Pro volume license to obtain the Volume license media and activation key and then we can apply that to all the computers in our organization that are already otherwise licensed to have the version of the
OS.
We only need Volume licensing for the purpose of reimaging so we won't have to deal with manually entering a different retail key on every system and manually activating each one.
It appears we could use the $100 Pro Pack to upgrade each system from Bing to Pro, but the Pro Pack upgrade would then be tied to the OEM license which is tied to the hardware, so you lose the licenses if the computers are replaced.  However, I think
if we buy the full $199 Windows 8.1 retail media for each system, we could reuse the license in the future if we replace these systems due to damage or loss
