  • Setup HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner in Brazil

I have no idea how to make TV work on Pavilion 1200 CTO DV8 (with HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner). In Windows Media Center I look forward channels and nothing ever appears. What is the right way to setup?? Windows Media Center is the software to do this?

Hey everybody!! Nobody with the solution???

  • HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner connect to DirecTV?

Just bought the dv6t pavillion notebook with the HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner (coaxial input). I have a DirecTV HD DVR receiver (no coaxial output) and want to hook up the notebook to the receiver.  I called DirecTV and the man suggested to purchase an RCA to Coaxial converter, which I did, and still no luck on viewing any channels in either WMC or HP media center. I'm running Vista 64-bit.  Please help, this is getting really frustrating and I really don't want my $75 spent on this TV tuner to go to waste.
Surely there has to be someone out there with DirecTV and this HP tv tuner that had this same problem before.
    Thanks in advance.

I spent a lot of time trying to get this to work in HD, inlcuding hours on phone with both Directv and HP. Seems the HD Directv will not work with Media Center, but you can use the HP media smart to watch downgraded tv not hd (needs a little device which directv supplied to downgrade the hd signal to standard). I ended up getting a standard directv pvr, so i can record shows using media center and media smart and have shows record while i am out of town with the laptop. You have to have a USB IR blaster to have media center change the channel.

  • Media Center and Aver tuner

I have media center pro on my 8.1 64bit system. I have an AVer tv tuner that is built into system. Media center Electronic program guide no longer working and the program will be gone with the new windows 10. How can I get an EPG for my Aver tuner to schedule recordings of favorite programs. There is none in the Aver settings. I contacted AVer but they said I had to contact hp. Anyone know what is going on?

If you want to keep Windows Media Center 8.1 Pro with Windows Media Center and HDTV recording you can fix the Program Guide updates.  The issue was due to the Program Guide provider change on 7/7/2015 discussed here: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/26-home-theater-computers/2058850-big-wmc-guide-changes-starting-today.html What I did was re-setup the TV signal within WMC which switched the Program Guide to the new service provider:  Tasks>Settings>TV>TV Signal>Setup Up TV Signal    On my system it found many new channels that didn't work.  I removed them from the channel line up using: Tasks>Settings>Guide>Edit Channels. I have looked into a TV recording/program guide replacement for Windows 10 and if you have a Hauppauge TV tuner card, they do have a Windows 10 software offering on their home page at hauppauge.com.

  • Tv tuner reception problem

I just bought a Pavilion dv4t-1300se with an integrated hdtv hybrid tuner. I used the provided antenna to scan for analog (ntsc) and digital (atsc) channels. I only got one very hazy analog channel. I researched a bit on the channels that I should be getting based on my location (staten island) and found out that I should be able to get a lot more than that. I do not have cable or satelite tv. And I was really hoping that I will be able to watch tv from my laptop using over the air transmission. Do i need to buy an external antenna to improve reception? Or is there other ways to make it work without costing me too much?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWQhlmJTMzw .... to receive analog TV u have to connect the tuner to cable , for over the air digital u need an antenna . so if u have no cable u will not receive analog signals  but u should be able to recieve Over the air digital with an antenna , after u make the antenna in the link set up the tuner to recieve OTA digital.  you can also buy a signal booster at radio shack for a few bucks to hook antenna to . google OTA antennas and TV  signal boosters  for better reception the antenna may need to be near a window

  • Is my system DV7t-3300, or DV7t Quad Edition? And how to add more memory to it?

    Dear forum,
I have an old notebook computer bought back in March 2010. It's a DV7t series. As it's getting slowly, I'm thinking of adding more memory. However, I'm not sure how much memory the motherboard can support for the upgrade.
I'm stuck with the first step, which is to decide the model number (and then motherboard) of it.
My original order email states the following:
    YOUR CUSTOMIZED HP PC
    dv7t quad edition
    • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz
    • FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) from 3GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    • 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    • 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 320M - For i7-720QM and i7-820QM Processors
    • 17.3" diagonal HD+ High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display (1600 x 900)
    • LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    • Webcam Only
    • Intel Wireless-N Card with Bluetooth
    • HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner
    • HP Color Matching Keyboard
    • 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    • No Modem
    • Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    • HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope
However, the bottom of the notebook computer has a label that specifies the following:
    Pavillion dv7
    Serial: omitted
    Product: WH764AV
    Model: Q dv7t-3300.
I visited some memory buying website like 'crucial.com'. However, I was prompted to select the model and there were both dv7t-3300 CTO and dv7t Quad Edition. Unfortunately, they resulted in different kinds of memory (although the specs of the sugested memory modules seem to be the same, these two memory modules have different model numbers).
So, what model number my system has? 3300 CTO or Quad Edition?
Perhaps a suitable model number would tell me which motherboard this notebook has. Additionally, can anyone advice me about on how much memory my notebook can support (8GB or 16GB) maximum?
    Thanks a lot!
    Cruiser

    Hi,
Max is 8Gb using the following manual:
        http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01859666.pdf
    And from the following site:
       https://www.ramcity.com.au/upgrade/hp-compaq/pavilion-dv7-series-notebook/dv7t-3300-cto/73893
The above manual shows you how to add/replace RAM. Looks like you have to buy 2 x 4Gb sticks.
    Regards.

  • BPM is extremely slow in IS

We have configured a simple BPM scenario to collect IDOCS before sending them to R/3.
THe correlation is set to 1:50 and we have had a look at Note 814393.
Does anyone experience slowdown with BPE processing and collection of IDOCS. Can anyone help on fine tuning the integration process or tune Workflow in IS.

  • Disabling "Determining Gapless Playback Information"

Is there any way to disable this? I absolutely, positively do not want it to run at all. I have thousands of songs on a NAS (samba'ed) over an 802.11g connection. It takes hours upon hours just to analyze 300 songs.
I can't click the "X" to cancel because I get hours of the spinning beach ball. It just runs and runs and I can't use iTunes at all.
I'm sick and tired of this. Is there any way to disable it? I guess I could quit the iTunes and use Songbird or something else to manage my music and sync with my iPod and never open iTunes again, but I like iTunes otherwise. I don't want to have to worry about MORE alternate software workarounds for things I don't like if it's possible to tell the program "just don't do this thing that takes days upon days for my entire library that I'm currently adding to."
    (Latest iTunes, OSX 10.5)

I have the same issue. I have upwards of 200GB of Music, Movies integrated into i Tunes. In my experience, (although I know no way of turning it off),upon doing a full format & reinstall of my OS and programs. I then install i Tunes, and I tell it where my Library is. It then takes 2 days of constant scanning. Once it is done. There is no rescanning, I tunes works great after you let it do its thing.
Sure would be great if they would give us an option to disable it as more and more people are Integrating their complete CD collections into NAS's.

  • XP2100 & KT3Ultra2

I have a KT3Ultra2 / XP1700 combo that has been running flawlessly for a few months, but I wanted to upgrade and got an XP2100 (only $99)
(other specs: 512 Kingston PC2700, 350W PSU, 128MB ATI 8500, WD 60G 8M buffer (master), 80G Maxtor (slave).. both 7200 RPM, SB Live, Aver TV tuner / capture card, D-Link 10-100 NIC)
I installed the 2100 using the same coolmaster thermal paste (following the template) and volcano 7500 RPM CPU fan that has worked just fine with the 1700... the 2100 will not run stable at 133 FSB, @ 100 everything is fine.
At 133FSB Win2K Pro gives me ntoskernl errors, driver errors when trying clean install from the CD, a few times it even failed to POST. Opening a program results in program error messages or restarts.
I have tried just about everything, re-seeding the CPU fan & paste, different paste, 2 different PSU's... 1 400W, 1 300W, clear the CMOS, flashed the BIOS, various flavors of the 4 in 1 drivers.
I have read two seperate links detailing the same problem:
    This here forum
    And on AMD zone...
    AMD Zone
I put the 1700 back in and everything went back to normal, running fine as we speak (uh... so to speak).
I know my set-up is ok, the XP1700, board, CPU fan, paste etc all works, I build these things as a very small side business and have done it 2 dozen times.
Not to be blunt or anything, but !?
I'm tempted to drop down $120 for a KT400 board for this chip just so I don't disturb the obviously fragile ballance I seem to have going with the XP1700/KT3 Ultra combo, but it should just work... and I'm wondering if anyone has solved this mystery yet.
    Thanks for hearing me out...
    -Mark

Well this is a moment I thought would never come.  I am using my PC running at 1744-2063 mhz, which is the result of a correctly configured XP2100. Not sure why it starts cold at 1744 and goes up to 2063, but...I don't really care right now.   8)
While all suggestions were considered, researched, and evaluated, my solution was simple.  After 20+hours of configuring, reconfiguring, switching boards, clearing CMOS, and a few hundred system resets, it works.
OK OK - HOW DID I DO IT?
Well, this is my 3rd system I have built...so while not a pro, I am quickly becoming less of an idiot.  I have a copper shim between my cpu and heatsink.  Thinking the main contact was along the shim, I greased up both sides and attached it (I KNOW, I KNOW).  Well after further research, I learned the only area that needs greasing is the small center chip.  I removed the heatsink, shim and cpu, wiped it off very carefully, and applied a thin layer to the center chip.  VOILA!  And here I am.
Regarding the BIOS, I set everything to default, disabled my onboard sound, switched the graphics from PCI to AGP, RAM is SPD and HCLK(or SPD - can't remember at the moment), and set the CPU to 133 and changed the+/- .25% to disabled.
    SYSTEM:
    KT3 Ultra ARU
    AMD XP2100
    512MB PC2700 DDR Ram (Samsung)
    Enlight ATX 300W Power Supply
Coolermaster HHC-001 PURE COPPER (AMD/INTEL) heat
sink (w/ copper shim) - CPU runs at ~40C with fan
        speed of ~7000RPM
    ATI Radeon 7000 AGP
    Soundblaster Live Value
    Maxtor 40GB ATA-133 HD
    Sony CD-RW 40x/12x/48x
    Creative 52x CD-ROM
    Windows XP Professional
    Microsoft Explorer Intellimouse
Thanks to everyone who has posted in this forum (good and bad - learned a lot!)
Good luck to everyone else with this issue - keep at it!

  • I'm a little confused about TV tuners...

The laptop I am looking at has the option to add a Integrated Hybrid TV tuner. I understand it allows me to watch cable, etc on my laptop... But I do not subscribe to cable or satellite tv. I have the free channels only, with an antenna above my tv. I recently bought a converter box for the tv for the DTV transition. Will I be able to receive free DTV signals with my laptop? Do I need some form of antenna? Are there antennas to improve quality?
Ultimately, I don't like paying monthly payments and don't need cable. I would like to use my laptop extensively in my car and would add an antenna to my car if I could within reason/aesthetics to watch the DTV channels for free while traveling through different states without having an Internet connection.
Possible? Or should I not get the TV tuner for my laptop?

....only problem with intergrated tv tuners is that its intergrated thats why you cant upgrade the antenna even if you wanted to
because its bulit in...and i also heard of the mother board failing because of the tuner card so .... get an usb tuner because you
can get the annena upgraded and use it on any system you have acess to...
and hybrid means  you  get anlague and digitial  tv ... try  a better antenna
    get an external usb tunner

  • HDTV ready or integrated tuner HDTV???

I am looking to purchase a new LCD TV.  My cable provider advertises that high-definition programming is available with my current basic cable subscription.  Do I need to purchase an HDTV with an integrated tuner, or will a HDTV ready set meet my needs?   I simply want to watch football games in high-definition and I am not sure if I will need to purchase a set-top box or obtain a special access card or other accessory.

    Hey Missiletoe,
The primary function of a tuner is to allow a TV to pick up over-the-air signals. As long as your cable provider includes these HD channels in your standard service package (and you don’t necessarily care about locally broadcast HD stations), an integrated tuner should not be necessary.
    Hope this helps you out!

  • Integrated TV Tuner?

Might be a silly question (not too tech savvy!) but i just got a HP Pavilion dv7-1213tx and it says on it integrated tv tuner and i was looking in the manual and it didn't come with the tv antenna/cable and where it says to plug it in there is no jack...is it supposed to have one or does integrated tv tuner mean something entirely different?

the message no tuner detected is a problem with windows media center.  If you try other software you will see that the tuner is working!
I am currently on with Microsoft tech support level 2 ?   they are now on their second day trying to fix my computer
my computer is a pavillion m8187c and after 6 months of supurb service the "no tuner" message appeared.   I have done everthing suggested on the HP help site but to no avail.   downloaded drivers for the tuner card from everywhere including toe original drivers from drive D.   I also went to services and restarted the services which are windows media center.   I then saw that windows 7 has more controls available to the user in wmc.  so I upgraded to windows 7 which gave more drivers and software.  BUT WMC still indicated no tuner.  So then I went out and bought a new tuner, no it didn't work either
Over the last two days I have watched the Microsoft technician retry everything that I had tried and it is still not working.
we may try to use the more extream upgrade.  I just upgraded my system with windows 7, so we may have to do the install where the Drive C is formated and the clean operating system is installed.  who knows the technician from microsoft is still researching
by the way HP stopped any support when I upgraded to Windows 7 because I did not buy the upgrade from them, I got it at wallmart
so if you want it to work call microsoft support at 800-642-7676  plan on spending some time
