Integrated facebook chat delay

Hi,
i am having troubles with the integrated facebook chat in the people hub. The messages get delayed or i doesnt receive them at all. I have no trouble otherwise, i can see whos online and all. Usually i receive the first message and them i stop receiving them. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Well, that's the problem, that I can't find any option to start a group conversation, so I think it is not possible, but maybe I've overlooked something.
And from the other side, when someone start group conversation or proceed in the old conversation and send a message to me and to someone else at one time, it does not show up in thunderbird.

Acording to Facebook, Facebook Chat for external 3rd party useing the Jabber/XMPP protocol will stop working by the end of the month. Facebook has not announced any replacement protocol for this feature. As for the skype client, How will this feature continue? Will this feature be removed once XMPP stops wokring with Facebook?

you should be able to update if you connect your phone to iTunes on the computer.
Create a backup first and then update to iOS 6.1.3, Facebook is integrated in that version.

Disabling Facebook chat on Facebook while using iChat?

I'm using my Facebook account on iChat. It works fine, but what I find irritating is that whenever I access Facebook, current chat messages keep popping up at the bottom of the page, while older messages appear as a series of new Facebook messages. Is there any workaround to disable Facebook chat on Facebook, while enabling it on iChat?
I am also using MSN on iChat through Jabber (server is headcounter.org). It seems that each time I access iChat after an absence, I get an iChat message from headcounter.org. Does this happen to all servers? Is there any way to disable this?

If I remember correctly, the various MSN transports would try to add me as an MSN buddy, which I usually ignored or refused. For msn.jabber.belnet.be, I think (but can't say with certainty) that I added it as a buddy, but when I checked just now, this was still pending authorisation from the other party.
I was unable to delete msn.jabber.belnet.be in PSI. I also clicked on the links to try and unsubscribe to manage subscriptions, but the links were broken.
Although msn.jabberbelnet.be is not on my MSN/iChat list, this notification still appeared when I closed PSI and restarted iChat:

All this is getting too complicated for me, I think i'll just bear with the notifications and hope that iChat will one day come integrated with MSN! Thanks a lot for your help.

Lumia 800 facebook chat not showing online contact...

hi, facebook chat is integrated with my messaging, i have checked everything to make sure i am logged in correctly, however even though i know friends are online, its says no one is online. this started about a day ago.

Posting the same thing in 2 threads an hour apart will not get an answer any quicker.
Even though people are online it doesn't mean that they will be shown as online. Everyone has individual privacy settings. There are different settings for 3rd party devices which is what wp7 comes under. Just because they appear online in the Facebook page doesn't mean it will be the same on wp7 messaging.
You could ask them to adjust their privacy settings if it bothers you that much.

Facebook Chat is not available in Firefox Beta version however it is working fine in Internet explorer. I request u to please look into the issue and let us know whether this is related to Facebook or Mozilla, the chat option is working fine on Internet explorer.Since Mozilla is much better than IE , I request you to look into this so that I can continue using Mozilla. You should try clearing the cache-
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
Also try removing unwanted cookies-
Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Did you try running it on [[Safe mode]] to see which plugin/addon etc might be causing that?

Using Firefox to access facebook chat Button or online friiend chat button generates a Black screen with CANNOT LOAD IMAGES and no chat window opens.

Gmail drop-down menus (Move to, Labels) and emails and Facebook chat will not open.

I am unable to open emails in standard Gmail. Emails can be opened after switching to the basic html version. I am also unable to use the drop-down menus, such as "Move to" or "Labels." The button turns gray, but the options do not appear.
Facebook chat is giving me a similar problem. When I click "Chat" in the bottom left, it acts as though it's trying to load but does not open up to reveal friends.
I have tried the following: deleting cookies, reinstalling Java, updating my vid card drivers, and uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox
Scans for viruses and spyware have yielded no results. I use AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes. The Gmail emails and menus will open in IE8.

Facebook chat not available -- Yahoo redirect to password sign-in page

Facebook chat is "unavailable" -- getting a triangle with an exclamation point. In my Yahoo e-mail account I can do nothing but view my e-mails. Any attempt to open an attachment (a pic sent from my phone), clicking on "mail options," sending a help request e-mail to Yahoo, writing an e-mail -- basically anything I do -- sends me to the password sign-in page. Could not log into another e-mail account at Road Runner. Page just flipped crazily back & forth between loading & "read message." However, none of this happens if I use Internet Explorer; everything works fine there. Problem started two days ago. I do not believe I did anything, downloaded anything, nor changed anything right before this happened. Been told by internet carrier to un-install Firefox and re-install. Not opposed to doing this, but will that solve the problem? I sure don't want it to happen again. I have a main password for Firefox and a few other passwords saved. Laptop, running Windows Vista. Anti-virus program is AVG (full paid version). Have disabled some AVG items (tool bar, link-something-or-other) per help suggestions on Firefox site, and this has worked fine for nearly 2 months.

Screen is 'splitting' and computer is freezing in facebook chat and Skype - any ideas?

Hello - having issues with computer freezing during facebook chat and skype - also desktop 'splits' in half - like the 'apple' that should normally be in the top left corner is 2/3rds the way to the right and the time,date etc is in the middle of the screen.
Cannot force quit or get out of the programs once it freezes.
Anyone seen this?

If you've applied the latest updates for your system and it's still doing it and you've maybe already gone the extra mile and reloaded the OS, then it's a hardware issue and will probably require a physical fix.
I would suggest backing up your personal data and then do an OS reload and without putting anything back on it, try it then. If it still happens, then it's hardware.

I need to know how to turn my facebook chat offline when i'm on facebook.
While i'm on a computer my chat is offline but when i go on my iphone it's always on.

My video call icon on facebook chat has disappeared since upgrading to mavericks, any ideas anyone?

Since upgrading to Mavericks about a month ago, my video chat icon has disappeared from Facebook chat - I can't think of any other reason for this problem other than the upgrade to Mavericks. Any ideas anyone?

I'm also dealing with some slowness since moving to Mavericks — but mainly with regard to long lag times with the Finder when I go to rename files, move files, or delete files.

Facebook chat in OS X Messages shows numbers instead of names

Though I have used Facebook chat in iChat and now OS X's Messages programs for many years now with few issues (some disconnecting issues here and there but that's about it) The past few days I have encountered a problem that I can't figure out how to fix.
Whenever I first launch Messages and it logs me into FB chat, the names of my friends show up correctly for a handful of seconds. Then, suddenly all of the names and pictures disappear and instead turn into numbers (those aren't the actual numbers, just examples of what it looks like.) So my buddy/friends list becomes populated with all of these numbers and I can't tell who is who.
If I quit Messages and relaunch it, again I will see the proper names of my friends for a handful of seconds after logging in, but it always turns right back into a bunch of numbers.
I'm thinking this MUST be a server problem since not a single thing has changed on my computer.
Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Can anyone help?

I missed this thread as it was not tagged with the Messages Category.
However I have read most of the other threads in Mountain Lion and the iChat Communities on this issue.
I have read that it does not appear to effect Adium but has been reported effecting other Jabber Client app.
It is effecting both Messages in Mountain Lion and iChat in earlier versions of the OS.
It does appear to be a Facebook issue as the Buddy list will display User IDs unless linked to an Address Card when it will display the "Real Name" in your Address Book.
Obviously the numbers are linked to the Jabber IDs at Facebook (Any account with "Chat" enabled) but are not actually Jabber IDs as you lose the Buddy icon replaced with the generic Head and Shoulders icon.
I have asked the Hosts to remove pics in some posts that contain snapshots of the issue.
Although the issue is not Apple's there are considerations about whether they are seen to be assisting in posting Facebook users info.

Configure your Microsoft account.
Try with WLAN once. This issue may be due to low speed network.
Also, check with the following:
- Login to Facebook (via PC browser) > Account settings > Apps > Make sure you can see the Microsoft is available in the applications.
If the application is not available, try with the following:
- Login to Microsoft Account > Home > Messenger Social > Add > Facebook
If still the issue persists; kindly re- configure Facebook and try.
Also, make sure that your Facebook account is linked with your Microsoft account by following the steps below (PC browser):
1. Log in to Microsoft account; https://account.live.com
2. Click on Account Settings (from the upper right corner)
3. On the left panel click on Permissions and select Manage accounts.
4. Choose Add an Account and select Facebook.
5. Log in with your Facebook account.
Make sure that the Facebook Chat is enabled in the Messaging Settings as it is disabled by default. Start>Messaging>Online>ellipsis>Settings>Facebook Chat>On.

Facebook chat, lumia 610

I'm having a minor issue with messaging. I have all my accounts linked to the phone so all messages can be in the same place. I chat in Facebook alot and all messages come to the phone but messages from a couple of contacts never come through I have to check fb app. Any idea why.
