Integrated isight Resolution and Quality.

Hello,
I-ve just bought ( it arrived yesterday ) a brand new Mac Book Pro woth 2,8 Ghz 4 Mb of Ram and so on...
I've been playing around with it a bit just to know my new computer and i noticed the bad quality of the image of the webcam...
It only takes pictures at at the resolution of 640x420 pixel... ( I've also tryed with other program than photo Both )... when I go to check the hardware it says...
Built-in iSight:
Product ID: 0x8507
Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Inc.)
Version: 4.19
Serial Number: 8H9C7007F6V23L00
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Apple Inc.
Location ID: 0x24400000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500
I've read on internet that the
Product ID: 0x8507
It's an old webcm.. is it possible on a brand new computer??
Shouldn't I have a 1.3 Mpx camera??
Thank you for your attention.

It seems to me that you have found a software feature (limit?) of Skype for Mac, Mark.
This Skype Help page states, in part, that Skype's "High Quality Video will transmit video images at 640x480 resolution at up to 30 frames per second."
  http://tinyurl.com/y89568y
640 x 480 is normal (4x3) screen format, not a widescreen one. Moreover, according to this Skype Help page:
  http://tinyurl.com/yz8nezk
Skype's "Standard Video" offers a resolution of up to 320X240 pixels (QVGA) at 15 frames per second (fps). 320x240 is also a normal (4x3) screen format.
Based on this info directly from Skype, although your preview monitor image on your Mac may be showing your webcam's full widescreen capability, it appears that neither video quality level in Skype for Mac can transmit widescreen images to your contacts.

  • Isight resolution and leopard

i have noticed on my MBP with the 1.3 MP isight, in imovie, i can no longer change the resolution of the camera when importing in imovie, if i switch to the higher res option the camera freezes, i seem to recall in tiger i was able to up the resolution... now i am not... any ideas or similar experience?

Try creating a new user account, log in there and see if the problem persists. You should be able to import from the camera at 2 resolutions without issue.

  • NEED HELP WITH RESOLUTION AND QUALITY?

    hi guys
i have been making these vector type portraits in photoshop for the last couple weeks, it has all been going well until, when some one puts it up as a display picture on facebook etc the quality is not as good as when i just view the picture on my computer.
i have been starting the new in photoshop and using 800x800 pixels and the res at 72 pixels/inch, am i going wrong here some where? or is it the fact that i am using photoshop to do this task? im sure there are a lot of people that will advise me to use illustrator, which i have been thinking about doing. but i would like to know if this can be solved in photoshop first.
thanks in advance for your help
it is slightly pixel-ish in areas...
P.S. i have also notice it is work in the text "faulty" area.

so let me try get this straight lol the picture on the left is on facebook and that the quality is rubbish because its on facebook?
because when i opened the one on the right just to look at it, the quality was the same as when it was in photoshop.
they are both obviously jpg, so it has to be the fact that it is showing from facebook that makes it grainy, right?

    Dear Indesign scripters,
I'm having a very old script what I made for CS2 and still using for CS5.
Now I'm having trouble to give it the option to choose the resolution in a dialog box.
Know I'm typing the resolution manually in the script but I’m wondering if there is a way to do it with a dialog box.
    var myDoc = app.documents[0];
    app.scriptPreferences.version = "6.0"

  • Anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?

I want to digitize some of my movies into the MP4 format so I can watch it on my apple tv.
this is mostly children tv (thomas tank engine and so on). problem with dvd's is that we need to change often and they get worn. children do change their mind very often.
so, a digitized version in my Apple tv would be nice.
    I Use DVD FAB 5.
but when it comes to the kbps setting what should I choose?
I think that I can use the same setting as Apple them self. I bought walle movie and that was 1.1 GB and had very nice look.
anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?

anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?
They are generally encoded at 1500 Kbps for video and 128 Kbps for audio and a resolution of 640 x 480 depending on the aspect ratio.

  • T430 1600x900 i5 Core: Mini DisplayPort To HDMI 1920x1080 TV Resolution And Sizing-Overscan Problems

Hello, and thanks in advance for any help.  Also, my apologies if these issues have been previously resolved; I've spent 2 days searching for answers and none of my effort has resulted in a solution, either here or elsewhere.
I very recently for the first time connected my ThinkPad T430 2344-5GU (i5 core, native screen resolution 1600x900, Intel HD 4000 v9.17.10.2843, NVIDIA Optimus NVS 5400M v9.18.13.1100) to a Panasonic HD TV (native screen resolution 1920x1080) using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI connector, with the hope of playing 1080p movies on my laptop while watching them on the TV.  This seemingly worked fine at first--both audio and video were present--but I quickly noticed that the image on the TV was, very slightly, larger than the image on the laptop screen (cutting off roughly 5% of the image on each of the 4 sides) and that the resolution wasn't 1920x1080.  So I hunted for a solution.
Windows display properties were no help.  In fact, as soon as I tweaked something there I lost the picture on the TV (the options available are "Show desktop only on 1" (the laptop screen), "Show desktop only on 2" (the TV screen), and "Extend these screens", which annoyingly turns the TV blank yet allows the cursor to to enter the TV screen depending on the chosen layout and the cursor's approach direction to the TV).  So, from having a functional-if-slightly-oversized-and-lower-quality picture on the TV screen I went to nothing, at least for my desired use.
Further research led me to the Intel HD 4000 settings, but those didn't even show that multiple screens were in use when the TV is attached.  Finally, I tried using the NVIDEA Control Panel, but although multiple displays seem to be supported the best I can do when cloning is have the screens' resolutions meet in the middle at 1440x900, which makes them both look worse than the original plug-and-play result described above.  Heck, I went so far as to enter the BIOS and try every combination possible under "Graphics": no NVIDEA, Integrated, Discrete, each with and without "Auto Detect NVIDEA capability" enabled and disabled.  I even updated the NVIDEA driver to their newest, a version not available at the Lenovo Support site.  Nothing.  And worse, ever since my very first tweak under Windows display properties I wasn't able to return to the original  functional-if-slightly-oversized-and-lower-quality picture.
At this point I used a very recent image to return my system to it's Pre Original Tweak state (allowing for the  functional-if-slightly-oversized-and-lower-quality picture originally obtained), which is better than nothing, I guess, but surely not what I'd expect from a higher end laptop.
Please, does anyone know if there's a way to connect my T430, native resolution 1600x900, to an HD TV, native resolution 1920x1080, while actually maintaining each screens respective native resolution and not losing any of the image?  Thank you again for your time.
Edit:  After more research I've fit the desktop image to the screen by adjusting the TV's "Picture/Advanced picture/HD size" setting from "Size 1" to "Size 2".  Now my only question is if it's possible to somehow play a 1080p movie at the TV's native resolution of 1920x1080 or if I'm stuck with the laptop's navtive resolution of 1600x900.

Try grabbing the latest NVIDIA driver off of the NVIDIA website. It might help.
Extending it should also allow you to run the 1600x900 T430 screen plus the 1920x1080 TV screen each at their native resolutions.

  • ISight Resolution...a final reply

I have a macbook unibody end 2008 and I want to know what's the resolution of the built-in iSight? because I read different parts that apple had increased the resolution of 1280x1024 but my webcam isght records at 640x480 ... Why?

    cpptnow wrote:
if i record with Quick time x at the maximum quality , the video is still recorded at a resolution of 640x480 ... why?
Because applications control the resolution and other operating functions of your iSight.
Apparently QTX is checking system parameters. The original built-in iSights were 640x480. Some may still be. Are you certain that your iSight's native resolution is 1280x1024 rather than 640x480?
Although I do not know, processor power also may be a determinant. On my MacBook Pro, when saving a movie recorded with my iSight, the QTX File > Save As... menu command options are limited to HD 480p (640x480) maximum. This seems consistent with what you report. However, on my Mac Pro, the same save menu in the same (QTX) app allows HD 720p and HD 1080p in addition to HD 480p.
If you know that your iSight is capable of1280x1024, you could check some of the other apps that can record movie clips with your iSight to see if any of them can give you more resolution than QTX or iMovie. If you do not already have other candidates, you can start with apps from the Movie Capture section of this list:
      http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage7.html
However, *be sure to test recording quality before doing anything important* to determine whether the higher resolutions overpowers your system's processor or disk storage capability and results in poor quality of recorded videos.
Finally, if you need more resolution and find no better solution, the best and least cost solution may be a compatible digital camcorder or still camera that offers HD movie modes.
you able to register in 1280?
Yes. My Mac Pro can record 1280 using the iSight built-into the Apple LED display that I use with it.

  • Hardware Requirements to get Satisfactory Resolution and Reconstruction from a Kinect V2 Scan

I am new to the Kinect for Windows V,2 (KFW2) Sensor, and as a prospective hobbyist
I am finding it difficult to determine the ”best for me” hardware requirements to acquire a satisfactory resolution and reconstruction from a scan to use in a 3D printer.
Please excuse and correct any mistaken impressions I expose in the following overview of what I have learned so far.
It seems that the measure of success to achieve my goal is to achieve 30 Frames per Second (fps) using applications such as Fusion Explorer and 3DBuilder while making a acan.
After watching many video demos I have determined that the stated minimum system requirements published by Microsoft are focused on just getting the KFW2 sensor to actually “work” and have a mesh constructed regardless of quality. Beautiful models have been
build using these applications, but in many of them I have heard both explicit and implicit comments that the computer used was much more capable than the stated minimum. In fact, in one such video the Microsoft presenter said words to the effect that “…we
have some high-end computers here but you need more than that to get good results in real time...” In many cases a Surface Pro 3 was somewhere in the scene. Well I am using a Surface Pro 3 i7, and I do not get satisfactory results.
So my question is, “Has anyone achieved a frame rate of 30 fps with Fusion Explorer and/or 3D builder? If so would you mind sharing the make and model of the computer you used, or the specs of the components you used (CPU, GPU, USB 3.0 controller, etc.)
if you built your own custom computer.
    Thanks in advance
    jperry

    Hi JPerry,
    I have a laptop with a 4GB 680m and a intel i7-3820qm (USB 3.0 eXtensible) and get a solid 30 fps fusion which takes around 60% GPU load with a 640 vox/m 256x256x512 grid. FPS drops to 17-20 when I increase the numbers to 768 vox/m, 512x512x768 grid.
    On my Surface Pro 3 256GB i5-4300U I can get a decent 20-25 fps with 384 vox/min 128x128x128.
Fusion is very memory intensive, hence the frame rate dependency on volume size. I think in the original Fusion paper they mention that each voxel element takes up 32bits of memory so for 512x512x512 it takes up 512MB of GPU memory.
I would say anything with 1.5GB of GPU memory, later than a (desktop) nvidia GTX 660 (or AMD equivalent) should get you a solid 30 fps unless you use huge volumes, then I would consider using some of the fusion alternatives such as Voxel Hashing or KinFu
    Large Scale.
    http://www.graphics.stanford.edu/~niessner/niessner2013hashing.html
    http://pointclouds.org/documentation/tutorials/using_kinfu_large_scale.php
Although you may have to do some work getting those working with the v2.

  • Best Quicktime resolution and codec for downloading a 1hr, 15 minute video

    Hello All;
I have to create a video that can be downloaded and played via. the web. Looking at most downloadable content, I see Quicktime is used most often.
My original fcp project is 1920 X 1080, 1 hr, and 15 minutes long.
Would would you say is the best resolution and codec to use for the highest quality at the lowest total file size ? What do you use that offers you the results you like ?
I've heard that MPEG 4 is used for web delivery and I've tried this at 720 X 480 but some of the images in the video like a american flag show a strange shimmering effect. I'm not sure what causes that as most of the video looks fine, only a few objects in the scene at various times.
I have also heard H.264 is good for web delivery and am trying that now but it will take 15 more hours to finish the export. Not sure if I'll see the strange shimmering effect as I did with MPEG 4. Hope not but if I do, is there anything I can do to eliminate this ?
    Thank you very much.
    Tim

An hour and 15 minute video is going to be huge. The smallest file size that's going to be adequate quality is probably in 800MB or better range. That's a big download for most punters.

  • Relation between image size, resolution and pixels

I would like to increase the size of image by using PSE9.
    For sample existing image had: width (W) 6.073", height (H) 7.683", resolution 300, pixels W 1822, H 2305.
A situation) when I changed the image to W 8, H10 and click on RESAMPLE the resolution on changed but number of pixels increase to W 2400  and
       H 3036
B situation) Image size W 8, H 10 and NO ACTIVATED RESAMPLE. Now resolution reduced to 227 and number of pixel NO CHANGED from original
       W 1822, H 2305
In my understanding if image blow up the number of pixels will be same as original and only the distance between pixels will be increase. So, resolution should
    be dropped.
Now the question: How in sample A increase number of pixels? From where they come?
    More realistic looks sample B.
Now other way: I used crop - make original image smaller. So, the number of pixels should degrees and resolution NO CHANGED. But PSE 9 shown number of pixels same and resolution increased.
    Is it right?
What is wrong or right in above explanation?
Can visible find the difference between samples A & B on computers monitor? I tried blow up sample B by 10 times and still no differences on screen,It is because resolution of monitor to low?

    A. Resample means elements adds pixels to the existng pixels to increase image size
and\or resolution and subtracts pixels to downsize. Usually resampling to make an image
smaller is okay, but resampling to make an image bigger can result in loss of quality.
Of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, just something to keep in mind.
    B. Leaving the resample box unchecked, elements only changes resolution (print size)
and doesn't change the actual number of pixels (harm the image) so the image will
be and look the same on your monitor.
Usually a resampled image will be of lower quality than a non resampled image because
elements has to make pixels to upsize and subtract pixels to downsize.
Elements uses the resampling method choosen in the image size dialog to determine how,
with one of the bicubic choices being the best for photos.
Elements, as far as i know, uses the standard bicubic mehod for the resampling with the crop tool.

  • Image resolution and ipad3 retina

I have just screenshot an ipad home screen from an ipad3 (with app buttons etc) and wish to place this into indesign as a mockup for a client.
I have tried so many variations on resolution in Photoshop, making sure its placed in at 100% in indesign but it never looks crisp?
Any suggestions on resolution and pixel size would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Nick.

    Thanks for your reponse Bob,
The image is fine in photoshop and a little worse in Indesign (display performance: High Quality), but when viewed on an ipad3 retina it isn't as hi-res?
The image I screen shot is 2048x1536. Placed in an Indesign 1024x768 document at 50% with Actual 72ppi and Effective 144ppi.
    Is there something I'm missing?

  • Integration of SD and MM Module

    Hi,
I Want to know the How to Integrating the SD and MM Module .Please help this topic .
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghava

    hi,
    MM Process flow:
The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements
Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing
The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up
The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management
Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and underdeliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification
The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.

    SD Process Flow:
The sales documents you create are individual documents but they can also form part of a chain of inter-related documents. For example, you may record a customer’s telephone inquiry in the system. The customer next requests a quotation, which you then create by referring to the inquiry. The customer later places an order on the basis of the quotation and you create a sales order with reference to the quotation. You ship the goods and bill the customer. After delivery of the goods, the customer claims credit for some damaged goods and you create a free-of-charge delivery with reference to the sales order. The entire chain of documents – the inquiry, the quotation, the sales order, the delivery, the invoice, and the subsequent delivery free of charge – creates a document flow or history. The flow of data from one document into another reduces manual activity and makes problem resolution easier. Inquiry and quotation management in the Sales Information System help you to plan and control your sales.
    Transaction Codes:
    Inquiry - VA11/VA12/VA13
    Quotation - VA21/VA22/VA23
    Sales Order - VA01/VA02/VA03
    Delivery - VL01N/VL02N/VL03N

The link between SD and MM :-
    1. When you create sales order in SD, all the details of the items are copied from Material master of MM.
    2. MRP and availibility check related data is also taken from MM although you control this data in SD also.
    3. While you create inbound/outbound delivery with reference to a sales order, the shipping point determination takes place with the help of the loading group, plant data, shipping conditions etc. This also refers to Material Master.
    4. The material which you are entering in a sales order must be extended to the sales area of your sales order/customer otherwise you cannot transact with this material.
