Integrated ITS: multiple sessions and locking issue

We are upgrading to ECC 6.0 from 4.6C and have Integrated ITS turned on. We have built a custom PZM3 as one entry and exit point for our ESS services. But we have issues with session management when navigating between some services like PZ14 and PZ02. The PZ14 session and the corresponding lock are not released upon going to the PZ02 service directly. But this happens for only some services. If you navigate between PZ02 and PZ12 it works fine. I followed the instructions of note# 959417, but it didn't work. Not only it is causing locking issues, but also memory usage issues as multiple user sessions are being created on the server. I did check some of posts similar to this one, but the issue still persists.
Our WAS release: 7.00; ABAP support package: SAPKB70009; Patch level: 75.
I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this issue. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kshitij

Our Basis admin found out that using a parameter ~DISCONNECTONCLOSE = 1 would resolve most of this issues -- and it did. But now we are having issues with some users having popup blockers turned on. We referred to SAP notes 892250/596698-- followed it -- implemented it-- but some users
still have issues -- like today while working from home via VPN, I am having issues with session management. But working from office yesterday,
the sessions worked just fine.

  • InfoPack processing (PSA and data targets in parallel) data and lock issues

    Good morning,
We are on BW 3.5 and contemplating changing our InfoPackages from option 1 (PSA then data targets) to option 2 (PSA and data targets in parallel) for performance reasons (test have shown a gain of 50% in load time compared to using option 1).
Issues have been raised that using option 2 may lead to data consistency and lock issues especially for SD infosources where we are dealing with multiple daily status changes for same document that need to be read in a specific order.
From what I have read, such issues were possible in BW 2.x e.g. OSS Note 384023 and 364577. However, I am under the impression that the issues may have been resolved in BW 3.x and that it is "safe" to use option 2 (PSA and data targets in parallel).
Would really appreciate if you could please share your experience when using processing option 2 (PSA // DT) especially in a BW 3.xx system.
    Thank you in advance,
    Catherine

    Hi Amit,
The help text (vers. 3.5) for this method of loading says simply -
"A process is started to write the data from this data packet into the PSA for each data package. If the data is successfully updated in the PSA, a second parallel process is started. In this process, the transfer rules are used for the package data records, data is adopted by the communication structure, and it is finally written to the data targets. Posting of the data occurs in parallel by packet.
This method is used to update data into the PSA and the data targets with a high level of performance. The BW system receives the data from the source system, writes it to the PSA, and starts the update immediately and in parallel into the corresponding data target"
Not sure where you got your description from, but is not explained well and confusing.
    Regards,
    Ken

  • Session and lock history

    Hi,
    DB :10.2
I am asked to check Is there session level lock in the db Yesterday, not now.Is it possible to check?
    Thanks & Regards,

I got a call from apps team,One of the standard job is got hang.So it's Killed.
We didn't schedule blocking session script in crontab.
    >
I'm assuming you mean that yesterday a job was hung and got killed. And that now, today you want to try to find out why the job hung.
Except in an emergency you should not 'kill' a session until someone finds out what the problem is. You should not wait until the next day.
You should have a team meeting and discuss the proper procedure to follow when a problem (or potentiall problem) occurs in the DB. That process should include:
    1. Determine if an emergency exists that threatens the integrity of the system. If it does take appropriate action immediately.
    2. Determine the possible causes of the problem. For a session that appears to be hung find out what the session is currently doing. There may be info in V$SESSION_LONGOPS. You can check other system views to find out what other sessions are doing and even what sessions are being blocked by other sessions.
    3. Then KILL or DISCONNECT the problem session if necessary.
You need to adopt a process where you do any possible troubleshooting at the time that a problem occurs or, for an emergency, immediately after you deal with the emergency.
And now that you know that you might want info about a hung session you need to document how you go about finding that information so you can use it the next time BEFORE the session is killed.
Solving a problem involves the planning and preparation for dealing with it faster and more effectively if it should happen again.

  • Question about BC4J data tags, Oracle sessions and Locking!

    Hi ,
I have seen numerous examples of JSPs using data tags and in all the examples the data tag for the application module has the "username" and "password" harcoded in it.
    My questions are:
    1) For a stateful application should we be including the username and password in every JSP page. I personally believe that we should not.
    2) If we have a username and password in every JSP page will it not start a new ORACLE user session and if so will it not cause locking problems?
    3) If we don't hard code the username and password in every JSP page, will it reuse the same ORACLE session ?
    4) How do we avoid locking problems when we use data tags?
5)I can understand the inclusion of username and password in every JSP page if it is a stateless application but again Is there a way we can avoid hardcoding the username and password in every single page?
I would appreciate if some one can let me know if any of my assumptions are incorrect.
    JDeveloper Team/Juan any advice?

The username and password are optional. They can be provided via the connections.properties file. The multple entries for username and password don't mean that separate connection are made. The first time the ApplicationModule tag is encountered, your application instance is created. If you are running in reserved mode (look at your releasePageResources tag) the application instance is kept until your Http session times out. If you are running in Stateful or Stateless mode, you application instance is returned to the application pool and retrieved the next time you need an instance. Please refer to the application pool documentation and to the source in oracle\jbo\common\ampool provided in jbohtmlsrc.zip.

  • Pavilion dv5 - 1217AX with Windows 8 - multiple booting and crashing issues

I have a Pavilion dv5 - 1217AX with Windows 8 operating system. It was upgraded from Vista to windows 8 last year and it worked really very well for about 1 year. Here are the issues I am facing these days
    1. When powered on - Caps lock and Num lock LEDs keep flashing twice and the sequence keeps repeating - I checked the error code on some forums and it sounded like BIOS issue so I flashed the BIOS F38 again (SP46501) but it didn't help. I also thought it could be a memory issue so I removed the memory module and cleaned the slots and fixed the modules again but no luck. I also tried running the laptop using only one module, tried both the modules one by but no changes in error code. Then I thought it could be a toy bettery issue so replaced the toy batter that fits on the motherboard but no luck. I have also tried booting up removing the laptop battery pack but no luck.
So how does it boot now? - Once powered on I keep getting Caps lock Num lock LED flashing issues every time. Then I power off using power on/off button on laptop around 15 times or more then the laptop somehow boots up. There is no fixed pattern, sometimes it boots after 15 attempts, sometimes 50 attempts.
Whats happenes after booting? - Sometimes the screen goes completely blank without any error message on the screen. Sometimes Windows 8 crashes and laptop restarts, when it restarts I never see LED flashing issues (surprising). It crashes when I am watching some videos or playing some games, so looks like ATI Radeon driver issue (driver is 8.970.100.7000 for HD 3400 display card).
Let me know if there are any suggestion to fix the botting and crashing issues faced.

    Hi Expertit ,
At first sight ,seems to be a boot issiu.Did you thry this?
Booting into the Windows 8 setup, select “Repair your computer” in the bottom part of the window, then “Troubleshoot” and “Advanced options”. Here I was given a good reminder of another cool Windows 8 feature. If you have a restore point created you can go back to that working copy of the OS without losing your data.
So the first thing you will want to try is the Automatic Repair.
If that fixes your boot problem, you had it easy and go on to create a restore point for another time you are out of luck. If Windows is unable to fix your issue, read on.
Go back to the Advanced options and choose the Command Prompt. Going for the next easiest way to fix the problem, enter the following four commands into the prompt:
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd
After receiving a success confirmation. Close the CMD window and restart your PC.
If you are booted into Windows, excellent! If not, let us know , so we can try some more solutions.
2.If your video crashes , it is probably wrong Catalyst settings.Right click on screen , open Catalyst control settings , set it to high (Radeon) performance.
    Expecting your next post.

  • Parallel (same) background jobs:  Memory and locking issues

<b>Scenerio:</b>  Multiple concurrent inbound asynchronous XI messages need to be processed in SAP.  We have the XI proxy initiating an RFC. This RFC exports internal tables (essentially the XI payload) to a unique shared memory ID (for each XI message). RFC then submits an abap (submit..and return)  in a background job. This abap reads (via IMPORT) the shared memory ID to get the data then process it.
<b>Problem:</b>  : When multiple concurrent jobs/abap are running, often, but not always, one of the submitted abaps either gets a non-zero return code from the IMPORT, or the IMPORT from shared memory seems to work fine, but the table contents contains data from the other (parallel) run, even though the memory ID used is correct and unique.
I have attempted to resolve this by using various methods (memory IDs, SPA/GPA parameter, ENQUEUE) of locking in the RFC (unlocking at end of abap), so that only one background job is executed at a time.  However, the best I can do is having two or three running in parallel.
So I'm wondering how to solve this memory issue and/or how to make the abap processing synchronous?  Any help appreciated. Thanks.

There is a limitation on Amt of data you can store in ABAP Memory and SAP Memory .. check those limitation ..per user ..
also check for Number of external session granted by urr basis ppl...
it may be possible that only 3-4 session are allowed coz each background process create and external session ..

  • PhotoStream: Multiple Devices and Performance Issues

Had a bad night last night with PhotoStream. I have an iPhone 4S (AT&T), my wife has an iPhone 4 (VZW), we have an iPad 1 (Wi-Fi), Apple TV 2 (Ethernet), and a 2011 Mac Mini (Wi-Fi)... all in the same house that has a Time Capsule and is connected to AT&T DSL service, 3.0Mbps service (average speed test results are 2.65Mbps down, 315kbps up). Oh yeah, there's a micro-cell in there too but anytime there's trouble that gets shut off first so its irrelevant for this discussion.
So yesterday was Halloween and we both took alot of photos away from the house with the iPhones. Got home, started using the internet, noticed the performance was HORRIBLE. Speed test showed over 1,000 ms ping latency (I still can't believe I actually waited for it to finish the ping test) and nothing was getting through for the download / upload test. I have never (believe it or not) with AT&T DSL seen it get this bad. Its been bad before, don't get me wrong, but this was surprising even to me.
How did I come to the conclusion that PhotoStream was my issue you may ask? Well, its sort of a long story, but bear with me... The other day, we started having trouble with the Apple TV 2, which for the most part is pretty solid. My wife was streaming Netflix movies and it was stopping every 30 seconds. It was looking at this issue that had me first raise suspicions about PhotoStream. Just days before this problem started, I had enabled PhotoStream on the Apple TV 2. SO I did the first most logical thing anyone could do, I took a step back and disabled it. Problem solved. Thought nothing of it, yeah I was a little discouraged that I couldn't use it on the Apple TV 2, but not a big deal, my favorite part of PhotoStream is using it to get the photos into iPhoto without having to plug the iPhones in so I said to myself "I'll just keep putting the photos into Events and Albums until they work out the kinks on the AppleTV 2" thinking perhaps the Apple TV 2 needs to not update PhotoStream while videos are being played. They can fix that at some point, right? Sure they can.
Now, back to this other issue. My bandwidth last night was completely crapped out, and I was determined to prestige on Black Ops one last time so this had to change STAT! I mean, come on! I was at Level 47 and I was ready to GO! My internet connection just wasn't having it. I powered off the router, rebooted the modem, and powered on the rotuer again. Everything came up beautifully. I jumped into some Nuketown 24/7, 4 green bars next to my name and I was happy. After we lost Bravo, which on Nuketown takes about a minute and a half if both teams are fighting over it, I'm lagging like crazy and I have that little red bar that no one likes to see next to my name. Sure enough, speedtest results are all whacked out again.
So I'm sitting there thinking to myself, what could this be? My wife was watching cable TV, my son was asleep... essentially the Xbox 360 was the only thing trying to use the internet... I thought... until I remembered our iPhones and the photos we had just taken and all the devices that would be simultaneously trying to update PhotoStream. Let's list them again, shall we?
iPhone 4S - Upload to Stream and Download from Stream
iPhone 4 - Upload to Stream and Download from Stream
iPad 1 - Download from Stream
Mac Mini - Download from Stream
So how can I prove this crazy theory of mine that the great and wonderful PhotoStream was choking my internet connection? Simple.
    iPhone 4S - PhotoStream OFF
    iPhone 4 - PhotoStream OFF
    iPad 1 - PhotoStream OFF
    Mac Mini - PhotoStream OFF
Speed test results immediately after doing this?
2.73Mbps down / .31Mbps up with 26ms ping time (used the Speedtest.NET app on the 4S).
Sadly, this means that for now, I cannot use PhotoStream, however I did manage to Prestige on Black Ops which made me happy, and the iPhone 4S can still be plugged into the Mac Mini to download my wonderful looking photos.
That's right, I didn't throw away the charger cables just yet and if you want to start talking about iTunes Wireless Synching with multiple devices in the same house, I can gladly take up some more of your time. Thats right, its OFF as well!

I just wanted to report that this is still an open and particularly nefarious bug.  I've got a fairly idealized Apple household with 2 iPhone 4's, a 'new' iPad, a 13" Macbook Pro, Airport Express and our most recent addition this weekend... an Apple TV.
While I had no particular interest in enabling Photo Stream, I turned it on while messing with the screen saver settings and didn't think anything about it.  As I began to play with my new toy I was immediately disappointed with all the long spinners and timeouts in Netflix.  Later that day I noticed my computer and iPad were having similar connection issues.  My first thought was 'oh, Comcast must be acting up, that's why my new Apple TV isn't working so well'.
Fast forward 3 days to today and our network issues were still occuring and I decided I needed to figure out what was going on.  After mucking around in network settings for a couple hours I half-jokingly decided to disconnect the AppleTV on the whim that the issues started at the same time I hooked it up.  Sure enough my network issues disappeared.  I even went so far as to run continuous pings to various IP's outside my home network and watch the timeouts come & go as i plugged/unplugged my ATV.  Now knowing the ATV was the problem I set out to figure out what in particular was causing it.  As soon as I signed out of Photo Stream everything was working perfect again.  Netflix on the ATV is quick & responsive, no more spinners or timeouts.  My other devices aren't plagued with random disconnects, dns failures or slow downloads.
Long story short, something is bugged in AppleTV's Photo Stream support.  Mine didn't appear to be downloading any new photos, it had stopped with 255 photos downloaded.  Not sure if that was all I had in iCloud or maybe AppleTV can only pull down 255 max?  Maybe 255 is the magic number where it hits the bug that causes this behavior?  Either way, it appeared to be only affecting the outgoing internet connection, when I had a continous ping going to another machine on my internal LAN it didn't appear to get affected.
Hope this helps someone at Apple track down the bug.  While someone technical can probably troubleshoot these issues I could see someone like my mom never putting the 2 + 2 together that her internet problems started around the time she enabled Photo Stream on her AppleTV and instead blaming it on 'the internet acting up again' and of course calling me months later to look into it for her.

  • Buffer table and Locking issues

We have a real table and a buffer table. The real table gets locked on occation for processing, at which times, incoming data is deposited into the buffer table.
I am looking for a way to dump all the information from the buffer table into the real table whenever the real table is released from its lock. I would prefer not to write and schedule a program to run based on time (i.e. every 2 seconds, a procedure is called that looks to see if the table still has a lock on it...)
Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this? I have thought about using the DBMS_ALERTS package or DBMS_AQ somehow, but I am not as familiar with the two as I'd like. I'd be happy to explain this further if required.
    Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion, but this does not look like a viable option. For this to work, the trigger would have to fire everytime a DDL event was fired, and I would have to build if...then logic into the trigger. Besides, in the documentation, I don't think table locks would be considered DDL.
Any other ideas? Again, thanks for the help. I did not previously know I could create triggers on these type of events.

  • JPA Project, TopLink Server session and ClassLoader issue

    hi,
I'm working on the project where JPA annotations are used to describe the mapping between POJOs and the database tables. JpaHelper class is used to bridge the gap between toplink-essentials and toplink. The EntityManagerFactory and the oracle.toplink.threetier.Server are obtained as following:
    emf = JpaHelper.getEntityManagerFactory(Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("myUnit"));
    server = JpaHelper.getServerSession(emf);
Due to different functional and architectural constraints the same Server session has to be shared across different web applications. Thus the EntityManagerFactory has been bound to Weblogic JNDI tree and used by web applications to obtain Server session. It works very well for the very first client that is trying to query the data, but due to the fact that in the web container different web applications are using different ClassLoaders the QueryException “Missing descriptor for [class ...]” is being thrown for all consecutive call from other web applications. The same behaviour is observer after re-deploying the “first” application.
Going throughout different threads in the forum I learned that it could be solved for the "pure TopLink" projects where “sessions.xml” is used as following:
    oracle.toplink.internal.helper.ConversionManager.getDefaultManager().setShouldUseClassLoaderFromCurrentThread(true);
    boolean shouldLoginSession = true;
    boolean shouldRefreshSession = true;
    boolean shouldCheckClassloader = true;
    session = SessionManager.getManager().getSession(new XMLSessionConfigLoader(), "mySession",
    Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader(), false, true, true);
Could you please let me know if there is something similar for JPA projects where “sessions.xml” isn’t used or other options have to be considered?
    regards,

I am not completely sure I understand what product and version you are using. TopLink Essentials and Oracle TopLink are independent products. They share the same heritage and much of the same functionality but typically you would only use one of them in an application.
If you have multiple web applications (WAR) that need to share the same JPA persistence unit I would package all of the JPA classes in their own JAR file and co-locate all of these WARs with the persistence JAR in a single EAR file. This should give you the capability to share the classes across the web applications.

  • My iPod created its own password and locked me out, now I have to restore it, but iTunes won't restore it.

When I powered off my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) and back on, it created a password, which I never had one set. After trying several times, it has locked me out officially and is saying, "iPod is disabled Connect to iTunes." When I managed to get it into recovery mode, it will start to restore it, then come up with an error message saying, "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
Any idea on how to get it to restore?
          -Thanks!
I did have a password, but got rid of it in November of 2011. I did try it, as well as several other passwords.

There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site.  If the hyperlink doesn't work, try again.

  • Multiple queries and formatting issues

I am running a report with 2 queries in a csv format. It displayed the right format with one query but with the new query , I have all sorts of formatting issues. The data is displayed in random cells. Why would this happen? Any ideas?
    thanks

    Sripathy,
No, the data is not mixed up. However, the data is displayed in random fashion. Data which should be displayed in one cell, is coming in 2 cells. Sometimes, it is skipping a few cells. It could be due to field widths- I tried changing the widths of the groups in the Data model and also in the layout editor, but nothing has worked so far. Does it not automatically adjust the width depending on the data. I have Vertical elasticity Expand and horizonta Fixed.
    Thanks,

  • Multiple registration and fees issue

I have made a registration form for multiple people on one form, however I don't want to make every registration (and related fields) mandatory in case they don't use all the possible registrations. That would require them to fill in something in every field regardless.  However, if they do register someone I want to be sure that the fees are collected for each registration on PayPal.  Is there a way to have all fees "form wide" so it collects each registration fee or do I have to make the payment mandatory for each registration and add a choice for no fee for each registration if not filled out.
Or, a way to tell the form if the registration is filled out it automatically makes the fee choice mandatory and sent to Pay Pal?  Similar to if you ask a question and if no it takes you to the next question relative to that answer.
    Any ideas?

I found a work around I only made the first registration required and made a registration fee choice required for each registration.  I did have to add each purchase field for each registration, it wouldn’t add the fee for each person otherwise.  I also had to make sure under the Address Fields that I had the billing name, address etc. checked so it pulled the information for the billing from the correct place.  A bit cumbersome, however it appears to be working as intended.

  • Multiple Crashes and Printer Issues - Help!

I've been very disappointed in Snow Leopard. On my iMac it is freezing up constantly. I NEVER have to reboot that iMac, and in less than 48 hours since I've installed it, I've had to reboot 5 times . It looks like iPhoto of all things is the program that crashes it - can't really tell. The whole screen freezes, including the doc and all menu bar options. Nothing is clickable, but the mouse still works - but can't click or right click anything. Have to turn off and then back on again to fix it.
On my MacBook Pro 17", I have the latest Final Cut Studio installed, and I can't run Final Cut Pro at all!! I need to edit a video tonight, and it crashes every single time I try to do anything in the video - 5 crashes in a row and still counting.
Finally, none of my HP printers work now - can't print using the same paper options I had before to print pictures. Rosetta has been installed on both machines.
Is there any help to fix these?!?! I'm seriously considering putting Leopard back on all my machines.

Your warranty is for one year, so Best Buy should repair it under the warranty assuming there is something that needs repairing.
You may have a software incompatibility problem at work. You have been experiencing kernel panics so a first start would be to look at a panic log to see what it tells us. We can try diagnosing everything until the problem is tracked down or you can go the extreme route which is to backup your data, erase the drive, and reinstall OS X.
For the former visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. Also seeOS X- How to log a kernel panic. Then post the panic log here so we can see what it tells us.
I would also suggest you try booting into Safe Mode and see if your computer's problems cease. If they don't then create a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new account. Do the problems cease?

  • Create multiple sessions

    Basically,
I have to create multiple sessions and sessionIDs on one
server, and then pass it off to various clients based on their IP
address. Is this possible (to transfer sessions like that)? How can
I create multiple sessions on the server?

Not sure why you might want to do this but I think it may be
possible doing a screen scrape against the url with the app you
want to create the session on.
Essentially you would need a page the client hits, that would
then do a cfhttp call to the app where you want to create a
session. The cfhttp return will contain a structure and you should
have a new cfid and cftoken on there. do a <cfdump
var="#cfhttp#"> to see what's in there. You'd grab these to
values out of the return and do a cfcookie and set the cfid and
cftoken values to the values you grabbed out of cfhttp.
I've never done this before, but I don't see off hand why it
wouldn't work. If the cfcookie thing doesn't work you may try a
cflocation addtoken='no' and and a url the specifies the cfid and
    cftoken from the cfhttp call.
