Integrated Web Logic Server -deployment slow

Hi,
we are using this following configurations
Jdeveloper  version 11.1.2.1.0
2 GB RAM
CORE 2DUO CPU
Application size 180 MB
i am selecting the JSF file, right click,clicking on run from the options in   Jdeveloper.
For this, deployment is taking more than 40 minutes. Management is not ready to increase the hardware specifications.
Please give suggestions ,how to reduce the deployment  time?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi
Management is being somewhat short-sighted!
My guess is lack of RAM that is your biggest problem. Depending on the configuration, both JDeveloper and Weblogic running will likely blow 2GB. The time is probably being spent paging to disk. You could check this by looking at Task Manager or Resource Monitor (assuming you are on Windows).
Incidentally is your OS 64-bit? The minimum RAM for JDeveloper on a 64-bit system is 3GB.
Your application is large. Perhaps splitting it up into libraries that you can deploy into Weblogic separately would help but I'm not sure.
There are a number of blogs out there with JDeveloper tuning tips. Here are a couple:
JDeveloper Memory And Performance | Bex Huff
https://blogs.oracle.com/angelo/entry/improving_the_performance_of_jdeveloper
Probably not what you want to hear but in my experience JDeveloper/Weblogic development simply requires a more powerful machine. A bit more RAM and if you can, an SSD would help a lot though. RAM is pretty cheap compared to the time you are waiting for deployments!

  • JDev Integrated Web Logic Server fails

    I'm a newbie with WLS. I've installed JDEV 11.1.1.3 in Windows XP SP3, and installed extensions for Webcenter.
    Now trying to go through webcenter tutorial, I arrived at point where I'm trying to run a small application,
    but nothing works. I've searched and searched the internet for clues, help, and tried multiple things, but nothing helps.
    First, I get the warning message
    Warning> <Server> <BEA-002611> <Hostname "XXX", maps to multiple IP addresses: 10.10.10.10, 169.254.25.129, 192.168.2.6
    and then when I disable all the network connections for these IPs, just to see if this would help,
    then the server appears to start successfully, but the tutorial app that compiled successfully does not start to run in any brower.
    I go through the properties of the Application Server for the Integrated Web Logic Server to test the connection and I get
    Testing JSR-160 Runtime ... failed.
    Cannot establish connection.
    Testing JSR-160 DomainRuntime ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88 ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88-LOCAL ... skipped.
    Testing JNDI ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-160 Edit ... skipped.
    Testing HTTP ... failed.
    Unable to open conection: Connection refused: connect
    Testing Server MBeans Model ... skipped.
    I have no clue, and trying different configurations does not help.
    I need a WebLogic for Dummies guide. Anyone have some clue ?

    Thanks Ravi Jegga for looking at my post. Here's some info.

    Please take a look at the install OBE; you will want to use Oracle Enterprise Manager to configure the policy.

  • How to manually create security policy in integrated web logic server

    Hi,
    I am trying to run a webcenter portal app that uses web services and has security enabled thru policies. I am no expert in terms of web service security and I am encountering this error.
    The password credentials cannot be obtained from the Credential Store Framework (CSF). Unable to retrive the csfKey "BASIC_KEY". The csf map "oracle.wsm.security" found in the credential store is being used and the following keys are found in this map...I know this is related to security but how do I define or create this in my integrated weblogic server? The web service I think use the oracle/wss_http_token_client_policy
    Thanks

  • How do I manage Integrated Web Logic server with JDev?

    I need to change admin password on WebLogic Server (for the weblogic admin) and do it from JDev so that start/stop of weblogic server is possible. How do I do it? Continuing, how do I manage WLS from JDev?
    Note that I am able to view the application server using view->Application Server Navigator and expand the integrated application server. At this stage, I want I can right click on the application server and launch the admin console. In the authentication tab, the passwords are "grayed" out. I want to reset the password for this weblogic server. The question is how do I do that?
    Edited by: 975250 on Dec 5, 2012 2:50 PM

    Hi,
    There is no way to change password from the JDev configuration.
    It should be done directly from WLS.
    You can change the password @ WLS side and include the WLS into Jdev.
    Here is the following way to change current password.
    1.- Take the back of the LDAP folder of the admin server as well as managed server (you may rename those folders) and then delete the actual LDAP folder (found at servers\<MyServer>\data\ldap).
    2. Make sure WebLogic instance is down.
    3. Set your environment variables using setDomainEnv.sh.
    4. cd to security directory in your instance.
    (eg: $WL_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/security)
    5. Run:
    java weblogic.security.utils.AdminAccount admin_user admin_pass .
    Remember to change “admin_user” and “admin_pass” to your need.
    Also, don’t forget the period “.” at the end of the above command, it is required.
    6. After running the command, the file “DefaultAuthenticatorInit.ldift” will get updated.
    7. Delete the following file from “ldap” folder:
    cd WL_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap
    rm DefaultAuthenticatormyrealmInit.initialized
    8. Go to folder DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer/security
    9. Edit the boot.properties file and change the password to the value already used on step 5. Do this for all the servers in the domain.
    10. Start Weblogic Server (Weblogic Server will encrypt the password for you).

  • Starting integrated web logic server problem

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.3) in Windows 7 (64bit), i tried to run an example project which is StoreFrontUI , but jdeveloper fails to complete the start weblogic with this message.
    The text in console is:
    *** Using port 7101 ***
    C:\Users\yusuf\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.3.37.56.60\DefaultDomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
    [waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
    \Adobe\Adobe was unexpected at this time.
    Process exited.
    Can anyone help me?

    User,
    Hopefully you are using a 32-bit JDK.
    The only time I've seen this error is when the WLS domain has been extended for Oracle Reports and there is a right-parenthesis character - ")" - in the path. Is either of these true for you? If so, try starting JDev from a command-line prompt where you have changed the parts of the path with the parenthesis in it to have double-quotes around them. Something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Teleca Shared";c:\windows;

  • Changes not showing in other instance of web logic server after deployment

    Hi Everyone,
    My Jdev version is 11.1.2.3.0.
    I have developed one ADF application and deployed into web logic server from Jdev itself and is working fine with the URL.
    Now the same EAR file is deployed into other instance of web logic server. it was working fine too.
    NOw i have modified some columns in the table in ADF page and modified the URL of the page in Controller project properties Java EE Application tab and deployed the page in first instance through Jdeveloper only and is working very fine with the new URL and with the new changes.
    But when i deploy this EAR file into other instance of the web logic server i got following problems:
    1. URL is not being changed. --> page is running with the old URL only.
    2. Changes to the ADF page is not reflected.
    3. Test point for this application is blank in web logic server.
    What can be the issues with this?
    Any suggestions will be really useful.
    Thanks.....

    About the context URL:
    There are 2 ways to change the context URL, 1 for design time (the one you used) and 1 for deploy time.

  • Single Sign on for 2 Web Applications deployed on Web Logic Server

    We want to implement single sign on for our application.
    We want to deploy 2 applications(JSF/ADF) on web logic server say
    webapp1 and webapp2.
    If user already logged into webapp1 with valid userid and password and
    then he access the link for webapp2 he should not be asked to provide
    the credential details userid and password.
    How we can implement this
    1. If user credentials are maintained/authenticated against LDAP
    2. If user maintained/authenticated are from database

    you are in the wrong forum. This one is related to Oracle forms. Try the ADF-forum instead.

    No, my scenario was with 2 servers.  CMS on Server 1, WebLogic on Server 2.

    As you have a BOE cluster running, try setting the domain value in the dsws.properties file to @clustername or clustername.

  • Integration of Web Logic Server with OAM 11g

    Hi all
    I'm trying to integrate OAM 11g with Web Logic server by following the steps mentioned in below link.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10043/osso.htm#CHDFIGDC
    I placed oamAuthnprovider.jar file in mbean types folder and created a provider named OAMAuthn as per the link to use oam Authenticator.
    I deployed a sample application in weblogic server by mentioning the Active directory group name in web.xml and weblogic.xml files as shown below:
    web.xml :
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
    </login-config>
    <security-role>
    <description>Authenticated Users</description>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </security-role>
    weblogic.xml :
    <security-role-assignment>
    <principal-name>Administrators</principal-name>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </security-role-assignment>
    When i try to acces my application http://<weblogic host>:<port>/<sample application>/<sample welcome.jsp> with the user credentials present in the AD group (Administrators).,i'm getting the Basic pop-up but getting an Error-403 forbidden.
    I'm able to access the application if i create a user named Administrator but not with the Users under Administrators group.
    can anyone please help me and tell me whether it a valid behaviour or not?
    I'm really sorry for my long post.
    Thanks & Regads,
    Swathi.

  • Servlet class not found error deploying a WAR on Web Logic Server 8.1

    I'm re-deploying an updated web application to a web logic server, but when I navigate to the login page of the web application to test it, I get a class not found error for my login servlet. I have both the web.xml and the weblogic.xml descriptors in my WEB-INF directory, and all of my compiled classes are in the WEB-INF/classes directory, is there something else I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated.

    None of the classes are in a package (I know it's not the best idea, but I didn't write these, I'm just doing some updates). So the file structure is pretty much just WEB-INF/classes/
    At the moment I've got a fix by just putting the entire project (not in any sort of archive) on the server itself instead of deploying it as a WAR, any thoughts on why the WAR isn't working would be much appreciated though.

    Hi Rahul,
    Server logs may contain JDK warnings such as the following if the jdk folder is an mklink.
    *[WARN ][osal ] Could not add counter (null)\ for query*
    *[WARN ][osal ] Failed to init virtual size counter.*
    These are just warnings and do not affect any servers.
    Workaround
    To suppress these warnings, add the following line in the FRAMEWORK_LOCATION\provisioning\provisioning-plan\fusionapps_start_params.properties file
    -Xverbose:osal=error
    You can even try the solution provided in below link
