Integrated with Edge Reflow

Like import Layout from Muse to Reflow maybe ? So we don't need to do double job to create the same layout
*just a Muse-newbie experience*

yes that true, changing it later will be problematic. But if we have the break points already figured out and design finalized we just then have to open it in Muse and then add the features that muse has like scrolling effects and such. life would have been really simpler if that media query handle feature from EdgeReflow is placed in Muse. On the other hand i don't mind if reflow has the scroll effects and all the cool things Muse has. Its possible to do a really nice responsive website with reflow and edge animate and then polish your site with dreamweaver and publish it to BC. Just that i like the features of Muse and the ease of designing but it lacks the true responsiveness we need, i know you can give full width and try make it look like responsive and then you have 2 more websites to finish, the mobile and tablet versions of the website. So its a lot of work, it doesn't really make it easy to keep up with this evolving web design industry. So i think i will stick with edge reflow, dreamweaver and edge animate till Muse becomes responsive fully.

  • Captivate integration with Edge Animate or Photoshop

    Hello everyone,
I’m an Adobe CC premium member and I’m interesting to buy Adobe Captivate but I'm not sure it can be really what I need.
How can I customize the graphical interface of the Adobe Captivate slides with others Adobe softwares?
I mean, can I integrate this software with adobe Edge Animate for example? In particular within Javascript and jQuery code snippets I would know.
Thanks in advance for your help

    >> I didnt understand this. <<
i'm not surprised.  i'm so far down the learning curve i don't know what question to ask.
i am willing to invest time and energy to learn Animate or DW.  i have never used either and it sounds like Animate might be simpler for my simple task.  what i meant by that question relates to what is the output of Animate or DW?  i know how to upload "images" to a web site (jpg, TIF, GIF).  is the output of animate an "image" or is it some code snippet i have to learn how to integrate into the webite i want to publish to?
    did that make sense?

  • Screen resolution to set up photoshop file for edge reflow

    hi :
i'm learning responsive design along with edge reflow. I'm designing a web site that works responsively for all devices. I'm starting with a psd layout.  I set up my photoshop at of 960x1136 currently.
my edge reflow breaking point for mobile is 768px currently. Perhaps i should modify my psd file to 768 width as well. but before i do that i have the following problem to resolve. When i view this on my iphone thru edge inpect. it's displaying a width of prob. 320 viewport width. which makes all the fonts and images look too big and of course the layouts are in disarray b/c there isn't a corresponding layout for that view port size.
i understand the difference btw viewport size and screen size. But   I'm confused re: the size to set up my photoshop file.
should i have set up my photoshop file based on "viewport " size rather than screen density?? (ie. 320x480 viewport for the smaller iphone rather than 640x960 which is the actual screen pixels) and create high res images separately for retina displays??
what i'd like to have is to have corresponding font sizes and box sizes btw the edge flow file and photoshop psd. so if pick 1.5 em font  in edge reflow, the same font in photoshop file is also 1.5 em. and perhaps saving images as smart object so the images can have higher resolution?
    please advice.
    thx
    grace

Maybe I'm wrong, but the best option would be to work with percentages, not pixels.
You can see examples in this Adobe links:

I hope it has been helpful

  • A Sneak Peak of Adobe Edge Reflow | Adobe Edge Reflow | Adobe TV

Adobe Edge Reflow is our latest and cutting edge tool to help you create responsive layouts using standards-based CSS. Check out this video where Senior Product Manager, Jacob Surber, will share with you Reflow's design philosophy and core features.
    http://adobe.ly/QQ6dbJ

I'm confused on how these new Edge products will work into the product line in relation to Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver CS6 has some very effective responsive web design capabilities which I am using heavily, but it seems like with Edge Reflow and Edge Code, Adobe might be steering things in a different direction.
I am a developer, and spend a good portion of my days in Dreamweaver. I've also got a substantial investment on Dreamweaver extensions. Can you shed some light on how Edge products are meant to complement or compete with Dreamweaver? It seems like you need to sell Dreamweaver and the Edge products to the same audience. How's that going to work?

  • CC client says Edge Reflow is installed but its not

(New post rather than necro an old one)
    Windows 8.1 64bit
I read and followed each instruction in this post but nothing worked.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1295064
Windows 8 gave me a 2503 error when trying to uninstall Edge Reflow through the windows uninstaller. I searched several kew words for the reflow folder location and found nothing. I went in and deleted the registry values for Reflow (just old installer temp strings). Still, CC sees it as installed.
How does the client detect what is installed?

I tried the 64 bit installer, no dice. Still a 2503 and 2502 error.
I did some more research on the 2503 and 2502 errors. I checked all the permissions and files and they were all correct. I had already deleted a folder string with Reflow file names in it under C:\windows\installers and Edge still showed in the CC client. I found a script that checked to see which installers files are being used in that directory. I deleted the ones that weren't and no CC client does not see Edge installed anymore.
As for the cause. I believe it was when I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. Several of my apps uninstalled themselves and I believe this is why I discovered my adobe products were no where to be found / except for Edge reflow. It must have been an isolated error to not get rid of an installer package.
Thank you very much for your help and hopefully this information can be used to help others.
    EDIT:
Actually I ran into another related issue. I went to uninstall to make sure it was fixed, ran into 2503 and 2502 again. I tried uninstalled through the control panel. Didn't work. I went into the windows\installer and manually clicked the .msi. It went all the way to copying files and then errors popped up again with Edge Reflowed still installed. It seems like the issues are still permissions on my end I need to configure.
This means the issues were caused by Windows 8 trying to circumvent these permissions to uninstall the program going into 8.1, couldn't and just deleted the files leaving an unclean directory. I will see how to fix this.
    UPDATE:
I had to end explorer.exe and started it back up with admin privledges through task managers. This got the uninstaller (in the windows\installer directory) to work to a point. Now I am getting "A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: 'C:\windows\installer\edge_Reflow_preview_7_LREF.msi'" which then the uninstaller rolls back actions and Edge is still installed.
However, running the windows control panel uninstaller worked and CC client doesn't see Edge. Also, I just realized under the specs for Edge Reflow, Windows 8.1 is not supported. Windows 8.1 screwed a lot of installer packages over with compatibility with permissions.

  • SVG with PNG fallback, Responsive, EDGE Reflow & Animate integration

I mentioned this on the Muse Facebook, and they said I should post it here... I think Muse is an awesome program. But I really, really would love to see these features. Any of them good enough to make it to the sketching table?
    1. SVG with PNG fallback support (for Retina displays)
The problem with Hi-Res displays on Tablets, phones and laptops is that the web is becoming awfully ugly. You need to zoom to fit webpages, and when they fit, the JPG's and PNG's become blurry. Since displays are increasing resolution year after year and pixel density is becoming a real issue, on phones (like the HTC One) or laptops (Macbook Retina or Chromebook Pixel).
Wouldn't it be great if we could use vector SVG for new devices for sharp a crisply logo's on every screen. And with that instantly use an automatic PNG-fallback option for older browsers. This would signifantly upgrade any website made with Adobe Muse and the Web in general if you ask me! I've done some research and I found this website very useful considering this issue: http://toddmotto.com/mastering-svg-use-for-a-retina-web-fallbacks-with-png-script/
    2. Responsiveness (Adobe EDGE reflow integration)
Adobe Reflow is amazingly promising. What if (instead of making different websites for every device) you can export a website to Adobe Reflow to make the design instantly responsive.
    3. Beter Adobe EDGE Animate integration
EDGE Animate is a great program, especially with the codes and actions which you cna integrate. The only problem is sometimes I want an animation to start playing when I'm at that part of the page, not after when it's done loading. Overall the integration is so-so, and it's doable to add an animation to Muse, but these tweaks could upgrade it from great, so turbo-awesome!
Which brings me to my next point:
    4. Dynamic Content Loading (Load on view)
Isn't Muse a great tool for making one-pages?! I love it for that, and I do love one-pages. The problem is that it can take a while to load when it's becoming more complex. Is there a possibility to add a feature when thing are loaded when you scroll? Which is fairly often used on blogs and stuff.
    5. Horizontal Parralax Scrolling
Since the latest update I've been pretty hooked on the functions of parralax scrolling and what it could do in a usefull way. The problem is that it doensn't work for horizontal scrolling. The objects can move horizontal (when scrolling vertical). But there's no option to add an effect when scrolling in a horizontal direction.
What do you think? Any of these interesting enough to develop?

I would love all of the features in this post. But you must post it in the Idea section of the forum so people can vote for your ideas.

  • Edge Reflow Integration Easier Blog Integration

Could you imagine if Muse had the same UI as Edge Reflow? Or atleast the same functions? Both Muse and Reflow generate HTML and CSS if Muse got rid of the three layouts for the Desktop, Tablet, and Phone and just used the same features as Edge Reflow, I could see so many more people using Muse. One of the major benefits for example would be when a client or anyone changes something in the in browser editing they are only changing that item in the desktop layout only. Were as with Edge Relfow it is only one single HTML page so it would change across all degrees of the responsive page. This would be my biggest suggestion right now for MUSE!! Mobile devices are the future of the internet and having a cleaner and faster website with only one HTML page rather than 3 different ones for different layouts would make a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!
The last thing I think Muse needs to work on the most is easier Blog integration. I have been able to use BC and integrate a blog but you still have to write code and take the CSS from your built website and then add it to the BC Blog. If there was a way for this to by easier that would be amazing!!
Thank you so much for listening to my suggestions.

    this would be a dream.

  • Will Adobe make a product that is Adobe Muse combined with Adobe Edge Reflow?

I love how Adobe Muse works, its simple and very easy to learn. The only issue I have with the program is, the sites that I produce from Muse is not a fully responsive site. I was wondering if Adobe will allow us to set-up our own breakpoints in the future like Adobe Edge Reflow.

They work very differently, what i would like (and this section of the forum isn't meant for feature requests)
is when you create a new muse site it asks what kind of site you want:
    Responsive
    static
    blog
    etc.... that would be nice.
    or just make it responsive.
But i doubt this will happen soon

  • Will Edge Reflow be included with Photography subscription?

I currently subscribed to Creative Cloud for photographers. I have been using Photoshop for some web design and started using Edge Reflow. However my concern is that once Edge Reflow is released it will not be available for me to use. I have no intention of upgrading my subscription and I don't want to waste time with a program I won't be able to use long term.
What plans will include the final version of Edge Reflow?

Thanks for all the great feedback!
You can delete breakpoint today. You can click the breakpoint pinhead so it's highlighted in blue and hit the delete key or push the "-" (normally the "+" when no breakpoint is selected).
Also, if you long-click (click and hold) the "+" button to get the breakpoint panel, when you mouse over a region you can click the "x" to delete it:
If there is another feature with delete or I don't understand the request please let me know. We use this and the other suggestions to help prioritize what we work on.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for using Reflow!

  • Using Edge Reflow with Joomla

Is edge reflow going to have support for CMS platforms like Joomla? It would be nice to have a built in FTP or something you could put a site in, it pulls the external CSS files, and loads the webpage right in the preview window. Then you could add divs and other elements to the design and use reflow to make it responsive right in the preview window.

There's no direct workflow with any CMS or content managment system. You can design you pages in Reflow, extract the CSS for those designs and use your favorite code editor to put that css in the appropiate area and selectors for your CMS system. We definitely want to make the workflow from Design to production smoother so any feedback you can give on the way you work is greatly appreciated.

  • Fireworks to Edge Reflow?

I know Adobe don't like Fireworks but I'm hoping that they will have a workflow from FW6 to Edge Reflow. Is there any info on this?
Photoshop is great for image editing but it sucks real hard for web and mobile design, I just can't use it for that sort of work. I still find it mid-boggling how many people have FW installed and yet use PS for all their web and mobile design work. Unbelievable.

The output is bad, but it doesn't have to be, so I'm wondering which steps in building the FW layout in a particular way are most onerous.  If you had to put all the elements you want to appear in a div together in their own sublayer, would that be too bad?  What about naming elements in a particular way to specify how they get output?  What if you had to use a special div auto shape instead of a rectangle to draw backgrounds and things?
I tried this process with great excitement when FW became able to export CSS-based layouts but the results were terrible so I abandoned it and just went back to producing the layouts as they were required visually. Your ideas are on the right track in terms of setting up the FW page and getting good output (with a better engine). Personally, I don't like to use lots of layers and never use sub-layers (selecting objects on the canvas in FW is so easy), so the sub-layers approach is less appealing but I do like the idea of a DIV auto shape. It would have to act as a container and be able to 'hold' the elements inside it, including other DIVs and possibly tables. I think shapes and text (content) should be styled using FW styles which would be converted into CSS styles (does it already do this? I haven't checked).
I think to really test the integrity of this process would require some more thinking and scenario-based documentation, which I would gladly do if you were interested in doing something in this space. I love FW and use it every single day.
That would require rebuilding it from the ground up, but I also believe that a graphics app built on an HTML renderer is the future, since you get layout reflows and rich styling for free.  Reflow is nowhere to having sufficient tools for even a very basic drawing app (not that that's what it's trying to be right now).
I totally agree re the graphics app on HTML renderer which is why I'm so interested in moving the design and layout process onto a real HTML layer right from the start. This includes interactivity as well eg. rollovers, content flips, sliders etc. etc. ER immediately made me think like this but as you say, it's miles away from it and I don't expect Adobe to go to that place.
John, if you're interested in pursuing any of these ideas, I would be delighted to provide input and research into any effort. I am a UI designer/strategist for a web-based CRM/CMS company.
    Cheers
    Paul

  • Adobe Muse - Edge Reflow

Is it, or will it be, a possibility to use Edge Reflow with Adobe Muse?

    Hello,
Edge Reflow has been released in an early development stage. Not all planned features have been implemented.
Till now, it does not have any option to create files that can be used with Adobe Muse.
So, currently there is no integration between Muse and Edge Reflow.
I would suggest you to post this as a feature request on our "Ideas for features in Adobe Muse" section of the forums : http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas
