Integrating absences with an external calendar

Within our ESS implementation the user will be able to enter leave requests.
Once submitted/approved the absence should be added into the users Lotus Notes Calendar.
Does anyone have any experience/advice on how to do this - either with Lotus Notes or Outlook Calendars.

Hi Dima ,
First of all , lets check if the webservice that you are trying to use takes in which parameters and may be some of them are mandatory to pass. Use some tools like Altova XML spy to test the webservice first.
Are you on MySAPERP? If yes, then to consume webservice in ABAP is fairly easy. You can go to SE80 ..find enterprise services tab and all the steps are mentioned therein.
Generally Error 500 occur due to following:
1. Probably there are some mandatory parameters which needs to be send.
2. The server is too busy to respond to the query.
Also,
As per my experience of sending the XML data, sometimes, the HTML header gets appended to the main body. You need to test this in debug mode , if this is happening. The XML must be transmitted without the header ..

Integrating CUPS with Exchange for Calendaring

Hi,
I have a query about the certificates work when integrating CUPS and Exchange for calendaring information.
I have a front-end exchange server with OWA installed and this is the one I'll use to connect CUPS to. However, the exchange server can only have one certificate and this certificate has the external name of the server - ie. owa.domain.com
Obviously my CUPS server will be connecting to the server internally but the internal name of the server is exchange.domain.local which doesn't match the certificate name therefore will give an error.
How do we get CUPS to accept the external certificate when connecting to the internal side of the server.

We had the same problem, we ended up creating an internal DNS entry that used the external name to allow it to function correctly.

Integrating LSO with external LSO Content

Hi guys, I am working on integrating our LSO with an external LSO provider. I found this information http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0aeb020-947d-2b10-048c-82618df6d3d0?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true and it says that the SOAP based web services can still be used on LSO 600 (XI is not to be used). I have tried to find this web services but I don't really know where to start. Anyone has documentation, or knows where on the system I can get the xsdl of the web services that are needed to confirm the enrollment, get the URLQuery and track the progress of the student?

I use Google Calendar Sync to sync my work Outlook calendar to a gmail account, then sync that to my iPhone. It works well for me for the past couple of years.
As far as mail itself, just ask your it folks for settings for remote access to your exchange account, and then set it up on the phone.
As far as working with Office docs, to be able to actually edit them and such, look in the app store for DocsToGo or QuickOffice - they both are good but each has it's pros and cons, so on balance it's down to mere preference i think.

Hi,
You will have to load the Unix/Linux JDBC driver appropriate for your external database (Oracle, SQL, DB2, Sybase etc.). Once you upload the driver as a .jar file, you will select the class from within the .jar file that runs the driver. This will be replicated over to the second UCCX node automatically so it will not require any manual work on the second node like previous version of UCCX.
For example, I have a connection from UCCX 8 to a MSSQL 2005 database. I have downloaded
net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
from Sourceforge and uploaded it to AppAdmin. I can then define a Datasource to use this drive and also define the JDBC URL as:
jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://
After this, I can then use this Datasource in the Editor as normal.JDBC URLs may be different for different types of servers, so you may just have to look up which one to use for your type of Enterprise Database.
This is explained in the UCCX Admin Guide for 8.0.

Is anyone else having problems syncing an external calendar app (Easy Calendar) with iCal using iCloud for syncing?

Prior to upgrading to Mavericks, I would use iTunes to sync my two calendar apps--Easy Calendar (from the app store) and the native iCal and of course, I would wind up with the same calendar events on both calendars after syncing. Since upgrading to Mavericks and--per Apple instructions, using iCloud to sync--I can't sync the two calendars. At this point, I'm thoroughly confused about where I can go to find/see a backup of my non-iCal calendar app that's on my iPhone. I'm beginning to think that if I don't use Apple's iCal, I can't back up or sync my calendar events using a non-native app such as Easy Calendar. Is that correct?

I, too, had long waiting times. Here's what worked for me.
As I went through some of my Pages and Numbers documents, I got warnings that there were sync discrepancies (differing versions in iCloud and on my iPads and laptop). So, I removed everything from iCloud Drive using my laptop (saved to local folder). I let my iPads sync so they removed all the iCloud-based documents. On the laptop I went through and forced everything to the latest file format (latest Pages and Numbers on Yosemite) by re-saving, then copied everything back into iCloud Drive. My iPads both updated within seconds and everything now syncs quickly.
Don't know if eliminating sync discrepancies is the solution, but it seems to have worked in my case. Hope it might help others.

Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?

as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.

Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.

How do I integrate SAP R/3 with an external system?

I've run into a problem integrating SAP R/3 with an external system. The external system provides a webservice, and when I try to get WSDL file from that service, I am getting asked of authorization and when I authorize, I get error 500. The access is anonymous, as I'm being told. When I try to get just a response, server requests authorization. No matter what login and password I supply, I always get error 401 saying I'm not authorized.
I think the ICF is somewhat misconfigured, but how do I configure it? Or maybe there's a problem with requests I send. I don't know.

Integrating FTP with JDeveloper

Can anyone help me with integrating FTP with JDeveloper (10.1.3)
I am developing jsp pages for a web site. the website runs on a Sun Solaris UNIX server.
At present i develop my jsp pages in JDeveloper and save then to a file on my PC. I then have to use an external tool (Ultraedit) to FTP them to my webserver for testing.
I have seen in this forum that there is something called 'ant' which will allow you to FTP direct from JDeveloper. I know zero about 'ant' and after spending a couple of hours trawling arround the web i'm still no wiser.
Can someone give me a hands held, idiot friendly explanation of what i have to do to integrate FTP?

Here is a basic explanation of the FTP task in ANT.
You can just create a new Ant build file in your project, add this task with the correct parameters and then right-click run on the build file.
Another options is to use JDeveloper to create standard WAR file for deployment and then passing it to the server to deploy.

Integrating OEDQ with Active Directory - Disabling SSL

I've just installed OEDQ (latest release) on a Unix machine (deployed on WebLogic Server 10.3.6) but I've a couple of concerns:
SSL Communication --> is it mandatory? I mean, I've tried to expose the dndirector admin page through an OHS Apache Web server. I'm able to access the admin page in plain mode but whenever I try to access a specific functionality (dashboard, user management, server configuration, etc) I'm being redirected to https://<web-server-hostname>:<wls-server-ssl-port>/dndirector, so this is not what I'm expecting. What's wrong? By the way, If SSL is mandatory, is there a way to expose the console via apache (avoiding any redirection)?
OEDQ with Active Directory --> the following documentation -- Integrating OEDQ with Active Directory -- covers just the Single Sign-on configuration (on both Windows/Unix os). What about a simple configuration pointing to an external ldap? The documentation reports the following statement:
It is also possible to configure OEDQ to work with different directory servers for user authentication and user identification. For information on alternative configurations, "see "Contact Us"
So, how can I achieve that?

Was out of the office a bit - apologies for the delay.
It looks like you removed these lines from the configuration:
cdpad.auth
= ldap
cdpad.auth.bindmethod
= digest-md5
cdpad.auth.binddn
= search: sAMAccountName
If these are not present, the user name is combined with @cdpsede.cassaddpp.it and used to login into AD. Depending on how user names are setup, this may or may not work.
If you replace the lines above, then the user account is searched for against the AD UserPrincipalName or the sAMAccountName attributes. The value of the latter attributre is then used as the login attempt.
So for example, if you enter the user name if marco.bonadonna, EDQ would search for an AD entry with userPrincipalName = [email protected] or with sAMAccountName = marco.bonadonna and then it would use the value of the sAMAccountName attribute to connect to AD (using digest-md5 for encryption) along with the password.
If you use
cdpad.auth.binddn = search: dn
then EDQ will use the full distiinguished name (DN) of the entry in the bind attempt.
It is sometimes easier to test connections using a LDAP browser - Apache Directory Studio (see http://directory.apache.org/studio/) is one I use. You can then check user name and password combination outside EDQ.
You can also get additional server logging on LDAP interactions in EDQ by adding the line:
userauth.level = all
to the logging.properties file in the EDQ config directory. Then where will be lots of diagnostics in the EDQ main0,log file.
By the way, there is some documentation for this in the on-line help for EDQ.

How can I reset the SMC (left side Shift of internal keyboard is needed) with an external keyboard? Or what else can I do to reset it without the Left Shift of integrated keyboard?

thanks for suggestion I know but changing keyboard on a Unibody 17 is very expensive as it's all the top assembly part, and before deciding about it (I can live with one shift key not working) I need to try an SMC reset...and it's very strange there's no other way!
I was looking at the possibility of reinstalling the firmware again (overwriting it with same version) but I can't find any SMC frimware update on apple website for my model as it was provided with the latest one anyway.
Any idea?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. My guess would be it has created an entirely new backup of your drive when you upgraded to Mavericks.

How can I disable the internal display on my MacBook Pro with connected external display?

I used this metod with the MagSafe power cable connected (see http://osxdaily.com/2012/06/15/yet-another-way-to-turn-off-internal-lcd-display- of-macbook-pro-with-lid-open/).
Open System Preferences and click “Mission Control”, then click on “Hot Corners”
Select a hot corner and pull down the menu to select “Put Display to Sleep”
Now connect the external display to the Mac and move the cursor to the newly created sleep corner to turn off the internal display
Close the MacBook lid and wait a few seconds before opening the lid again, the internal display should stay off while the external display will be powered on
This worked great under Mac OS X 10.7.4, but after the last update to 10.7.5 it doesn’t work more. The built-in display turns off really, but a few seconds after opening the lid it lights up again. Do you have any suggestions? Dimming the brightness or clamshell mode is not very useful.

I have the same problem: not able to work with my external display mirroring the internal one - while shutting the internal display off.
I believe there is an issue with Mac OS X Lion 7.5 that Apple needs to solve, since apparently it does not happen with this version of the OS only...

MacBook Pro Retina 15" mid-2012 won't boot in clamshell mode with an external display attached

I have a 15" MBPr mid-2012 running OS X 10.10.1. The system won't boot in clamshell mode (power is connected, lid shut) with an external display attached via an Apple Thunderbolt->DVI adapter. it boots fine if the lid is open. It isn't the adapter or the display since my 15" MBPr mid-2014 boots up just fine connected to the same adapter and monitor. And this system used to boot like this just fine some while ago (probably before it was upgraded to Yosemite). I've reset the NVRAM (twice) to no avail.
Has anyone encounter this? Anyone have a solution? Should I try an SMC reset (always a bit nervous about that)? Might it be a driver issue in Yosemite?
