Integrating BI Publisher 10.1.3.2 with SSO

We have one OID/SSO server, one j2ee (10.1.2.0.2)/Portal server. We had xmlpublisher 5.6.2 deployed on the j2ee server. We installed J2ee (10.1.3.1) on a separate home and deployed BI Publisher. BIP works well standalone without any problems. We are having problems integrating BIP with SSO (10.1.4). The single sign on page comes up but after logging in, the Admin/Scheduler/Reports tabs won't show up. It will just have the Search Box displayed on the left side and nothing else. The security has been configured with LDAP and believe all the parameters have been entered correctly. If anybody has seen this error before or if there is any straightforward documentation on integrating BIP with SSO, please let me know. I greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks.

Check you settings in the
xmlp-server-config.xml
specifically the setting related to LDAP. Also make sure you have the roles defined and users added to these roles. The steps for this are in the XML Pub users guide Chapter 5. If you need further help contact me via email at [email protected]
Of course I am assuming you mean Oracle SSO and not another flavor of SSO.

  • Integrating BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 with Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 - Different host

BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 is installed in Host A and Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 is installed in Host B.
All the samples and steps given in the oracle doc explains how to integrate them if they are in the same host.
    ./configureBIP
But how to integrate them if they are on different hosts?

    Hi Anandh,
Bi publisher cannot be integrated with EM 12c is its running on a different host
    Below are the scenarios
    For Standalone OMS setup
BI Publisher can only be installed only on the 12c OMS host in case of standalone OMS setup
    For multi oms setup
BI Publisher can only be installed only on the Primary OMS in a Multi-OMS setup.

  • Bi Publisher integration with SSO when users are in separate containers

    Hi,
We have bi publisher 10.1.3.4 installed and setup to run with oas 10.1.3.3. Bi publisher as such works fine.
We need to get it integrated with sso and for that we have followed the steps in the bipub admin&ddeveloper guide, security model section:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12188/T421739T475591.htm#T434695
In our oid users are devided to 3 containers:
    l=emea,dc=oracle,dc=com
    l=amer,dc=oracle,dc=com
    l=apac,dc=oracle,dc=com
If the "Distinguished Name for Users" in bi security configuration it set to e.g.
    l=emea,dc=oracle,dc=com
and the admin user is created in the same container l=emea then login works fine for all users in l=emea container. They can login fine and they have the privileges defined in XMLP groups.
However this means any user in l=apac or l=amer container cannot login.
I've therefore created new admin user cn=bipadmin,dc=oracle,dc=com and change the user search base to be dc=oracle,dc=com. Now as the admin bipadmin user I can login fine and have the privileges as defined in XMLP groups.
Actual end users are in the l=emea, l=amer,l=apac containers and with the end users I can still login but the privileges are missing. So e.g. I can login as cn=xx.yy,l=emea,dc=oracle,dc=com or cn=aa.bb,l=amer,dc=oracle,dc=com but even though I've granted those users admin privileges the admin tab is not visible.
Distinguished name for groups has not changed. It has been the same all the time and the XMLP groups exists there:
    cn=cappbb,cn=aitsys,cn=Groups,dc=oracle,dc=com.
But it seems if User search base is changed to higher level than where the users actually are the privileges are no longer found.
Is Bi Publisher supposed to search for users only from the container which is defined in the "Distinguished Name for Users" (in this case dc=oracle,dc=com) or is bi publisher supposed to search the users from all the subgroups also under the "Distinguished Name for Users" path?
If anyone has hit the same issue and has fond resolution please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Nina

    Hi Nina,
User privileges will work fine even though the user search base is pointing at the higher level...
In my application I have defined the User search base as,
Distinguished Name for Users : O=ABC
And my users are under, 1. ABC---> Users ---> US ---> and 2. ABC ---> Vendors...
All users could you able to login along with their privileges...
But in your case, i would want you to recheck, the users group/role mapping...
Also check, if not admin role could you able to atleast import other groups/roles mapped to the user when you login...
I mean any functional roles (other than XMLP*) mapped to the users are imported...
    thanks..

  • Unable to view BI Publisher report with SSO configuration enabled

    Hi All,
Can anybody let us know the configuration of the BI publisher with SSO enabled. We are unable to see any of the BI Publisher reports. without SSO configuration we have integration working perfectly fine with the OBIEE and Publisher.
We followed the configuration steps to integrate BI Publisher with Oracle SSO. The following are the steps:
    1. deploy analytics.ear as a new application 'analyticsSOAP' in OAS
    2. protect analyticsSOAP in mod_osso.conf file under OAS
    3. change OBIEE Presentation services configuration to use analyticsSOAP/saw.dll
    4. run credstore utility to encrypt password
    5.restart xmlp server
    6.restart http server
    7.restart obiee server
    8. restart obiee presentation service
Still we have issues when we try to accesses BI Publisher reports by clicking more Products -> BI Publisher or view reports directly on the OBIEE Dashboard
    Thanks in advance.

configure one more virtual path which is unprotected from site minder. we had similar issue for Marketing and resolved by this virtual path.

  • Integrating Application Express with SSO

    Hi,
What's the difference between integrating Apex with SSO as a partner application, and integrating it as an external application. Are there any benefits / drawbacks to either? and in what situation would you use one or the other?
    Thanks,
    Lee

Hi, I have one more question related to this.
We are currently considering implementing the following:
We are designing a system where the majority of users will have read only access to data. The read only users will NOT have to sign into the system in order to use the system at this privilege level. Other users will have to sign in and once they have done so will then be able to edit and access other functions of the system that are not available to regular read only users. Login links will be available on a number of different screens and once logged in they will be returned to the screen from which they logged in.
We understand that we can use SSO or even Apex's own authentication to acheive this.
There is also another system built using portal, forms and SSO. Once a user signs into the portal there is a main menu where various links to different applications are available/hidden depending on the OID groups that the user is a part of.
Ideally we want to be able to provide a link from the portal system to the apex system from the portal main menu. If a user is signed into the portal then they should be able to enter the apex system without the requirement to sign in again, assuming that they have edit privileges for the apex system. However if the user is signed into the portal but they do not have edit privileges we want to be able to display the apex system in read only mode as we would for anybody else who is not an edit user complete with login links.
Would this be possible using SSO bearing in mind that we do not want to have to create users for the read only users?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Peddi,

  • Lync 2013 Error - Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster

    Hi Lync gurus,
    I have a weird issue:
Just installed a Lync Standard 2013.
Everything works except I keep getting this error in Log: every 30 minute or so.
    First an Error:  Event 47067
A server did not respond to HTTP request
Server lyncserver.domain.local did not respond to HTTP request PublishCertRequest targeted at
    https://lyncserver.domain.local:444/LiveServer/UserPinService.
Cause: Server might be down or the network path between servers might not be properly configured.
    Resolution:
Please ensure that the server can be connected on the target port using telnet and then re-try.
    Then I get a Warning: Event 47068
    GetAndPublish web service failed.
Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster [lyncserver.domain.local ]. Request Details - Entity: [[email protected]], Device Id: [6BB30A3E-2923-553A-8E5F-0B2FB2CEA330], Authenticated User: [sip:[email protected]].
    Additional Context: [Publish_Failure: OtherFailure;HttpNoResponse:"lyncserver.domain.local "]
Cause: This could be due to network connectivity issues with the remote server, or because the database is down.
    Resolution:
Please ensure that the user services is reachable and the database is up and running.
    Thanks for any help

Please check you can telnet port 443 and port 444 on Lync Front End Serve from client.
Try to regenerate a new certificate for Lync Front End Server.
Check all the services on Lync Front End Server are started.
Check the option “Enable all purposes for this certificate” is checked for the trusted root CA certificate.
    For the detailed steps:
Run MMC--Add\Remove Snap-ins--certificates--Local Computer--Trusted Root Certificate Authorities--Certificates, find the Root CA certificate you installed--Properties--General, check the "Enable all purposes for this certificate".

  • I have been trying to publish my podcast to iTunes with no success – I keep getting the following error message

I have been trying to publish my podcast to iTunes with no success – I keep getting the following error message
We could not complete your iTunes store request. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.
New to all this and would really appreciate some help.
    Thanks in advance
PS: I should say that I have an ITunes account - I have full permissions over the website etc. I am using Powerpress plug in on a wordpress site.

My guess would be that you've fallen over a glitch in the Store, in which case all you can do is wait a bit and try again, but it is only a guess. Without being able to look at your feed it's not possible to say whether there might be a problem there.

AFAIK there is no such mapping available, however you may want to take a look at this Support Community thread that discusses the migration and even gives some samples.

I've seen a lot of threads about getting rid of these kind of messages. Those messages are there for a reason most of the time. If you have CSS animations or other HTML5 standards that cannot be rendered in IE9 they won't magically start working becuse you got rid of a message. I use IE9 since that is the minimum standard for the client. I have never seen that message publishing to HTML5 content.
IMO, if your client has IE9 I think that you should develop with IE9 in mind not IE11.
When you say "develop with IE9 in mind not IE11" do you mean use SWF instead of HTML5? I used the standard question types, and a converted PowerPoint presentation. I didn't add anything out of the ordinary.

  • ISA 2006 publish Exchange 2010 Outlook Anywhere with KCD/NTLM and IPSEC - Problem

    Hi
I have setup ISA 2006 to publish Exchange 2010 Outlook Anywhere with Kerberos Constrained Delegation and IPSEC.
The clients have an IPSEC policy pushed to them via GPO.  The clients are windows 7 laptops and the ISA server is server 2003, so the IPSEC connection is IKE not AuthIP.
However, it seems that the connection will work for a while, then all of a sudden stop working with zero trace of why.  I cant get the Oakley log to work and I cant see any traffic on the ISA.
I am wondering if I need to publish the CRL's externally?  Currently we don't, and the Outlook Anywhere uses private certificates (as the whole point of IPSEC is to validate the internal certificate, there is no point in using
    public certificates).
I have tried using the StrongCRLCheck=0 registry key in the IPsec Policy Agent on the windows 7 machine but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Steven

    Hi,
Firstly, have you received any related error messages in ISA server or on the clients' side? Besides, as you mentioned IPsec, did you have a VPN connection?
    In addition,
While ISA 2006 only includes a Client Access Web Publishing Wizard for both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. Which Exchange version you have chosen when publishing Exchange 2010?
Please also make sure that you have selected the
External interface for the web listener to listen on.
Besides, the link below would be helpful to you:
