Integrating HID Game controller

Friends,
I'm trying to integrate a device (a spirometer - a device
for measuring breathing) into flash. i have a driver that makes the
thing look like a USB connected HID game controller. Does anyone
know how to read from such a device into Flash ? Any help or
pointers would be much appreciated.. Thanks !

You'll probably need one of the Flash wrappers - Director or
other. I'm not
sure of the capabilities of Zinc, et al but Director could
handle this
easily enough. Or, if the device can write output to a text
file you could
use that.

  • Game Controller integration (suggestion)

I just picked up a game controller, with the idea of
"somehow" allowing a user to manipulate their experience. Seems
flash 8 does not have any access and I have been looking about on
the net and the best I have found so far is a joy stick possibility
    using Zinc2.5.
Looking into the future, some kind of interaction between a
game controller and flash has a lot of possibilities.
Not sure if this is beyond the confines of Flash, but if not,
a very cool possibility for an addition toi the Wish List.

This product will be officially be available in mid November. It will be featured in the coming CES Show. I will keep you update on the progress.
You may also send me email on the matter.

  • What's the best game controller for a MacBook Pro?

I have a mid-2012, non-Retina, 13" MacBook Pro with a 2.5 Ghz i5 and 8 GB of RAM. My current OS is 10.9.1. I've played Starcraft 2 for some time without any problems, but there are a few newer games on the Mac App Store that look like they'd be no fun with a keyboard and mouse. I'm hoping people here have recommendations for the best game pads or controllers that are compatible with Mac.
Please let me know if you have a controller that works really well for you, thanks!

I like the Logitech Gamepad F310 for games on my Mac. You're right new games are much better with a game controller!

May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/gamepad-f310?crid=411
I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.

  • Mac mini iPhone 6 game controller?

can i use my iPhone 6 as a game controller on my mac mini?  such as racing games

I don't think I've done anything. Honestly we don't use the computer too much. I'm wondering if Image Capture 4.0 is an older version and maybe we had a recent update that made the program not work anymore.
If there is a way to use Image Capture, I'm all for that but not sure what to do. I will check out the other program after dinner!

  • Game controller for MacBook Pro?

Are ANY game controllers made especially for Mac? I have tried the Logitech wired version and the Logitech Rumblepad 2 wireless version and neither seem to work with my G5. I even added USB Overdrive, which recognizes the Logitech controllers, and have tried to set the prefs in various games, but still cannot get them to work when the games launch. Seems like there ought to be some easy, plug-and-play game controller for Mac. Any advice? I am very computer literate, yet cannot seem to accomplish this very basic task: Hook up a game controller (that SAYS it works on Mac OS X) and get it to work. (I called Logitech tech support and they said the controllers should work on a Mac, but their driver software and their tech support do not support use on a Mac. Huh?)

  • How to set up an USB game controller

How to set up an USB game controller on a mac? I am at wits end! Need some help?

If you already have an iTunes account, simply use that. You do not need a new account.
Open the iTunes app on the iPad. Go to the bottom of the screen and tap Sign in.

  • Game Controller Input

    Hi,
I am making a simple drum simulator, and yesterday I asked a question on how to play .wav files. I got that part of my program figured out, and I got it so it can take user input (through a keyboard) to simulate drum sounds.
Now I am asking if there is a way to use a game controller (preferably a rock band drum controller) as an input device. I've looked at the jinput API, but i don't know if it provides the functionality I am looking for.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have anything on this?I've only just started looking at Jinput for a project of my own, but haven't tried much with it so far. It seems to be the standard Java controller library though. A while back I plugged one of my Xbox (non-360) controllers into my computer and it acted like a game controller. I then took a 360 Guitar hero controller and in my little test app (that was for linux) I could see that the frets were just buttons (non-surprisingly) and the wammy-bar was an axis. I would be surprised if your Rockband controller wasn't also just a typical controller with buttons, axes, etc mapped to the different drums, etc. I'd say that's almost definitely the case, in which case JInput would probably be what you want. You could then map a drum beat to when you sense a certain button on the controller being pushed.
Can't say much else than, try it and let us know how it goes.Ok, I'll try that and if I get it to work i'll report back here
    thanks for your help

  • Game controller inputs not registering

    Hello all,
I have just purchased a Satellite A505-6300 Laptop.  I am having trouble with a game controller; when I plug it into the USB port, the laptop recognizes the device as "PC USB Wired Stick 8838" and installs the drivers for it.  However, when I test the controller, none of the inputs register.  I have tried calibrating it as well, but the inputs are still not recognized.
I have used the same controller for another laptop running 64-bit Windows 7, and the inputs register fine.  The controller is a Mad Catz Tournament Edition Fightstick for the Playstation 3.  I have also gone to the manufacturer's website and don't see any additional drivers that need to be installed.
Would anyone know what the issue could be and how to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marco

In that scenario you have to be alert to cheating.
The server should check the positions of the ships regularly to detect whether they may have moved to places they're not supposed to go to (so having an unnaturally high speed which hints at cheating) and things like that.
If you do damage calculation on the client as well you'll also have to check whether damage is indeed being dealt. Say one side sends a message shooting a laser at the location of another ship doing 1000 points of damage and the other sends back that no damage was done that might indicate a cheater as well (depending on your game of course, if there's shielding etc. and chances to miss...).
Maybe better to calculate such things serverside.
