Integrating Hire/Terminate employee between EBS and Fusion HCM

Hi,
We are exploring EBS and Fusion co-existence model. e.g. co-existence of Core HR, Payroll in EBS with Fusion Talent Management.
We have following requirement - "When an employee is hired in EBS R12, the integration components should be triggered and employee should be shown as Hired in Fusion with the same start date."
Are there any existing integration components in EBS/Fusion to accomplish this?

Your requirement seems quite function specific, and as such I would suggest you also post to the HCM forum as there could be people doing the same thing there.
Most of the packaged integrations are based around moving and sync-ing data between systems periodically, whereas I think you want a live invocation, such as the public WebServices might offer. As such please review content on http://fusionappsoer.oracle.com where you'll find all those listed with lots of supporting material as well.

I can't find any comparison on the internal database. Can you add more about your goals with the question? Are you stuck with a Business unit issue or functionality. Since Fusion was built form the ground up it is a completely different software product. If you have a very specific question then we might be able to collaborate with different groups and provide an answer or fix.

Cannot copy and paste words between EBS and other applications

hi,every one
I can't copy and paste word between Oracle EBS and other applications(such as MSword,excel) on a windows client.
the version of EBS is 11.59 and jinitiator, 1.1.8.16
has anyone ever encountered such problem and know how to resolve it?

Real Time Integration Document - Rounding Error between LC1 and LC2

Hi!
We recently underwent currency conversion. After the conversion, we noticed that Real Time Integration document that is generated due to Assessment Run (KSU5) produces a document which are off by cents between LC1 and LC2 ,even though both have the same currency
LC1 = EUR (Currency Type 10 - Company Code Currency)
LC2 = EUR (Currency Type 60 - Global Company Currency)
Document being generated
Document Currency = USD (Controlling Area Currency)
Account LC1 (EUR) LC2 (EUR)
XXX 2297.44 2297.43
Any help would be appreciated .

Database privileges for integration between EBS and Third Party software

Hi,
We have engaged a third party invoice scanning software vendor that wants to install database components on our existing EBS database.
We run Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 on a 10g database. The third party software vendor wants privileges like select, update, insert, delete on Oracle EBS tables like ap_invoices_all, po_distributions_all, gl_code_combinations, and all important workflow tables.
The third party software vendor says the privileges are needed for their APIs and I have refused to grant the privileges. My employer now wants me to justify my refusal.
Does anyone know if Oracle have documents that say that direct updates on Oracle EBS Application tables is not acceptable? The manuals have the “Do Not Use Database Tools to Modify Oracle Applications Data” section but is there anything else?

First configure the same via the following menu path:
1.) IMG>Financial accounting>Financial accounting global settings>Taxes on sales/purchases>Basic settings>External tax calculation>Define physical destination
2.) Then test connection (option is available there).
3.) If the connection is successful, also verify that the external tax package installed supports the R/3 4.6 version of the API. You do that by going to:
System Information>Function List
Check if the following functions are listed:
RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC
RFC_UPDATE_TAXES_DOC
RFC_FORCE_TAXES_DOC
RFC_DETERMINE_JURISDICTION
4.) Then test the tax data retrieval:
From SE37, select the relevant function modules like RFC_DETERMINE_JURISDICTION.
The above 4 steps are necessary to satisfy that the RFC connection is established

Smooth integration of iWorks documents between iMac and iPad

I have an iMac with Lion 10.7,4 and an iPad 5.1.1. I would like to work with iWork files on both devices, and move the files between both devices. This seems simple but isn't. I've tried Webdav but can get it to run. I'm getting very frustrated with lack of integration. Please help. Why should this be so difficult?

There is a perfect solution for that: iCloud. I highly reccomend updating to OS X Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store. It's only $19.99 and has deep iCloud integration.
This allows you to save your documents to iCloud from within Pages. Then, that file will appear in pages on your iPad, you can edit it, and then it will automatically update on all your other devices which are signed in with that Apple ID, including your Mac. It's seamless, and you don't really have to think about it.

If you have any other questions about this, just ask, but for now iCloud is your best bet for syncing iWork files.

In the table CRMM_BUT_LNK0141 youll have a mapping between the PARTNER_GUID and SET_GUID.
Get the SET_GUID corresponding to the PARTNER_GUID and
in the table CRMM_BUT_SET0140 you can get the Sales Office,Sales Group etc by giving the SET_GUID.

Integrating Workplan structure between OP and P6

Hi All/Dean,
While integrating the workplan structure between OP and P6 using PIP, the entire WBS structure of OP is sent to P6 and the further addition of WBS/activities and resource assignment in P6 are sent back to OP back.
Here the question is whats the use of integrating the numerous WBS/activties created on P6 to be seen back in OP? The OP WBS structure will become bulky if we create more activities (1000s of activities) in Primavera for planning, scheduling and resource assignment and integrates the workplan strcuture to OP.
Is there any way to integrate only few WBS or activities instead of sending the bulky WBS to OP in Workplan integration?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I somehow missed seeing this post and had some vacation recently.
I think you are aware that you can select to roll up your WBS from P6 if you integrate with the financial structure only, and yes, it's unfortunate but we do not allow that to happen with the workplan integration.
Part of the reason this was done is that we built the integration based on best practices we found out from customers who have built their own integrations. For most of them, they planned to actively manage their project schedules in P6 and only worried about collecting cost in EBS and therefore planned to integrate only with the Financial structure at a very summarized level. Some other customers (but definitely fewer) would want the full WBS in EBS and P6. This was most common for customers without large WBS. If someone wants to actively use a workplan on a project then it makes sense they would want to see all of the activities in both application's WBS.
The major thing you lose if you do integration to the financial structure is that we don't send percent complete like we do to the workplan structure. For some customers this isn't an issue since they are fine with reporting % complete out of P6, for others they want to see it along with the costs in EBS. We do have this down as an enhancement request though for the future.

Integrating CRM On Demand with EBS (12.1.3) using BPEL

I am working on POC for the integration between EBS and CRM On Demand. We are EBS R12.1.3 and have SOA Suite 10g.
We are planning to use BPEL to do this communication between EBS and CRM OD. Is this something that is possible using BPEL. In additional to BPEL, do we need Java coding or any other language coding?
I donwloaded the Account WSDL from the CRM OD website. Created a new BPEL Process using that WSDL. I read that we need to pass the login credentials using a soap header. Can you please let me know how we can do this in a BPEL Process.
Any pointers would help me alot.

Unable to hire an employee in PA40

Hi Friends,
I was trying to hire an employee in PA40 and it says that the employee is still active.
I run the standard report S_AHR_61015516 and took a position which is vacant, but still I am unable to hire him.
Could someone pls let me know what might be the problem.

Naveen,
Goto PA30 and give that employee number, if the IT 0000 exists for that employee number, then you can't hire with the same personnel number.
You can assign 'n' number of persons to one positions.
To maintain the vaccancy goto TC: PO01,plz check, enter the positon id and maintain the IT 1007 (Vacancy).
While executing PA40 don't give any personnel number and in IT 0000 maintain all the field except Emp Number and press enter, if it is emp number is internal then the system will generate or you have to enter a new emp number according to the NUMKR feature.

Hi Gurus,
I am working on Training and Events Management. If I want to create training appraisals, I am seeing appraisals defined in PD on my screen. I just wanted to know what is the integration between PD and TEM.
Can somebody explain what the following sentence means. It is integration between TEM and TM.
When employees of your company participate in events either as attendees or instructors, you can
store attendance types in Time Management for checking purposes.

For integration between Time And TEM in table T77S0 switch PLOGI TIME     is used for Integration TM and TEM
after that in the same table you have to maintain switches
SEMIN     AINST     for Attendance type for instructor in T554S
SEMIN     APART     for Attendance Type for Attendance in T554S
SEMIN     TIMEP     for Minimum percentage attendance
