Hi Kaushik,
This is a Portal issue, not really an MDM issue. The problem is that you created the iView in a PCD location which is a higher Security Zone than the one the user you're using is allowed to access. Take this message to your portal administrator, they should know how to resolve this quickly.

  • Integrating SRM , CRM with MDM

    Hi
    Could you please give links or documents that clearly (step by step) tells about Integrating SRM with MDM and CRM with MDM ?
    Thanks
    manian

    Hello Manjan,
    you can refer the threads for CRM-MDM integration as mentioned below:
    Configure CRM with MDM !!!
    Connecting MDM to CRM
    Integration of SAP CRM with non-SAP-Systems
    To integrate the SRM or CRM System with MDM, you might be need some middleware like XI/PI in between.
    You can configure the MDM generic extractor to replicate the referance data (lookup table data, Transaction-MDMGX).please refer the thread as mentioned below:
    Re: MDMGX Transaction in R3-XI-MDM Scenario
    you can also use the standard transaction "MDM_CLNT_EXTR" to replicate the main table data fro SAP System to MDM.I am not sure that this will work for SRM or CRM System. I have used it in case of R3 System. you can refer the SAP NOTE-1035601, 836985 for this transaction.
    Also can refer the threads as mentioned below on MDM_CLNT_EXTR:

    Hope this will help you.

  • Problems with MDM 5.5 SP05 Portal Content - ResultSet iView

    Hello Experts,
         We are having problems with standard iViews from MDM 5.5, more specific with ResultSet iView. We created an iView using English as default browser’s language but our client wanted it in Portuguese, so in the MDM Repository both languages were defined and used in MDM Data Manager, when passed to the Portal iView an error occur, but only in a ResultSet iView from the MDM Portal Content, the others iViews (itemDetails, PicklistSearch, etc...) are shown in Portuguese, and we cannot figure out why it works fine in English and not in Portuguese. We left the default language defined by client’s browser. Below I’m sending the LOG, which by the way, doesn't help much, but I put it also here. Any ideas of what should I do ?
    LOG ERROR:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: unknown format type at
    We are using Portal 7.0 SPS11 and MDM 5.5 SP05 - Portal Content in a Win2003/Oracle server each.

    Alex,
    sorry to disturb you with this issue, can you explain me basic steps in order to setup standard MDM iviews from the portal?
    I mean, I have already installed all standard mdm business content, and also have configured system and aliases in the portal to connect to my mdm repositories. Those system/aliases are working propperly.
    But, when I try to preview standard MDM iviews/pages I got several JAVA errors in trace logs.
    Specific iviews are: Item Details, Show products, etc..any iview execution fails.
    So, am I missing something?, do i have to create a specific user in portal?, assign specifi roles or groups???.
    Platform is: nw2004s SR2, SP11, MDM content 5.5
    Thank you in advance.

  • Extending MDM ResultSet iView with custom web dynpro

    I built a MDM Result set(which is displaying fine), and a web dynpro iview to receive the events from the ResultSet and put them on to a page, added to a role and added to my userid etc.
    But when I invoke the event from the MDM ResultSet Standard iView, no data is coming from the ResultSet.
    Yes, I am aware that I need to make sure the namespace and name of the event should be same in the source and target iviews. I made sure of that.
    The event is being invoked, for sure, but no data. (Because if I didn't catch, the target iView is throwing NullpointerException for want of parameter passed by the EPCF event)
    EPCF event is reaching the target, but no data, what so ever.
    I tried with different fields(Columns) of the Resultset, but no use.
    I got a doubt. The client said, they used MDM 5.5 SP04 software for the Business Package, but MDM 5.5 SP03 MDM Connectors, and ofcourse the server itself is MDM 5.5 SP03. Does this have any influence in the problem I mentioned ?
    Another issue is the naming of the event or the namespace. Are there any guidelines for that ? I gave the name and namespace to be "ShowItemDetails" and "urn:com.oi.ecat.mdm.epcfevent". Are these OK ?
    Thank you very much for your help,

    Hi Narendra/Sidharth,
    I have been referring the same blog below of Vinay for developing the WDJ application:
    Importing Records from MDM BP ResultSet iView to Excel:--https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/504814b6-da5f-2b10-0dbd-e5ee597c74a5
    I have created an event in the ResultSet iview with the details below :
    Event Name = "Export"
    nameSpace = "urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.exporttocsv"
    Parameter is of type [MDM Search] and the value is "value"
    And in the Web Dynpro app,following is the code
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
        String nameSpace = "urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.exporttocsv";
        String event = "Export";
        WDPortalEventing.subscribe(nameSpace,event,wdThis.wdGetExportAction());
        //@@end
    In the Event handler below,Currently I have removed the rest of code to fetch result from MDM ,I am just trying to access the Search object (i.e string value) and I am getting the value as null.
    Can you please tell me what is going wrong....
    public void onActionExport(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String value )
        //@@begin onActionExport(ServerEvent)
        wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("The search object:"+value);

  • Any Chance of Integrating MI with MDM/ XI/ BI

    Hi All,
    I would love to know any information on integrating MI with MDM/BI/XI or vice versa.
    According to me using XI in MI is a restriction.
    Any updates from SAP regarding the same (May be in Newyork release).
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Karthick

    Hello Mainak,
    Here are the benefits which I got from below link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b2/e50138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
    The integration of SAP XI and SAP BW offers the following advantages:
    ·        Central maintenance of message flow between logical systems of your system landscape.
    ·        Options for transformation of message content between sender and recipient
    Mappings help you to adapt values and structures of your message to the recipient. In this way, you can transfer different types of files to a SAP BW system using interface mapping. However, in any case, it is necessary to transform the data into a format that corresponds to the interface of the function module that is generated in SAP BW and used for data transfer. The function module contains a table parameter with a flat structure. This means that the data have to be transformed so that they fit to a flat structure in SAP BW.
    ·        Using proxy communication with SAP BW
    Proxies are executable interfaces generated in the application systems for communication with the SAP XI Integration Server. We recommend the use of proxies for communication with SAP BW because they guarantee Full Quality of Service (Exactly Once in Order). They also guarantee that the data is delivered only once and in the correct sequence. The SAP XI Integration Server keeps the serialization as it was established by the sender.
    cheers,

  • How can we fetch the information from standard ItemDetails iView of SAP MDM

    Hi Portal/MDM experts,
    Is there any chance to fetch the information from standard ItemDetails iView? if it is possible please tell me the process.
    If it's not, how can we customize the ItemDetails iView using java WebDynpro .
    my requirement is, I have to fetch some of information from itemdetails iview and it'll be used in other WebDynpro  application, means we have fetch some details from itemdetails iview and populate them in another application. Please suggest me the procedure to do this.
    Regards,
    Mahi.

    Hi Mahi,
    Please follow the below steps:
    1. Create the Result Set iView.
    2. Select the Custom Events button and Add the Custom Event
    3. Select Event Type=EPCF
    4. Give Event Name=EpfcTest and Namespace=urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.mdm.epfc.test
    5. Select the desired fields to be passed to the WebDynpro application and give the parameter name.
    6. Save the iView
    7. Create WebDynpro application and write the below code.
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
    namespace = "urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.mdm.epfc.test";
    eventname = "EpfcTest";
    WDPortalEventing.subscribe (namespace,eventname,wdThis.wdGetCatchValueAction());
        //@@end
    public void onActionCatchValue(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String dataObject )
        //@@begin onActionCatchValue(ServerEvent)
    int marked=dataObject.indexOf("=");
    String value=dataObject.substring(marked+1);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setCatchedValue(value);
        //@@end
    variable Data Object will contain all the Mapped fileds separated by ;. You can then use the String functions to separate the parameters.

    Hello, Namrata.
    Thank You for reply.
    I've already set "Enable Edit" option for the IView to true.
    Also I've set the "Updatable" property for Key mapping field to true.
    I can edit any other fields of IView, but cannot edit Key mapping field.

  • Portal with MDM

    Hi
    i am going to work on the project which have the components like EP and MDM. it is going to start soon.
    so far i have not worked in this combination.
    can u tell me what are the requirments will come between EP and MDM ?
    how are the interactions will be happend between EP and MDM
    can u tell me more about that MDM and portal combinations???
    i am not aware of MDM but knows abt portal
    it is very helpful to me if any body gives good suggestions.
    Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
    Portal with MDM is a very hot area now as everything is moving to  ESOA .
    Before starting with the integration you need to do some prior installation setup on EP side
    - Business packages which will contain MDM connector,Java API's etc needed to set up the connection between these two systems.
    You can work on different scenarios using the EP MDM combination.
    1)Basic Scenario: Accessing MDM repositories from Portal.
    You can use std iviews provided and connect o MDM system by doing the basic req config on EP side like creating sytem aliases,system objects etc and access the MDM rep from EP .You can view the Master data ,create it,edit it,delete it etc all the MDM activities can then be carried out from EP side.
    2) UWL:Running MDM workflow through Guided procedures.
    You can create MDM Workflow and run these from Ep side through Guided procedures.This will give single point of acces to Master data.
    The workflow jobs will be displayed in the UWl and by doing User Mapping workflow jobs can be handled by different user Roles.Control is passed from Ep workflow to MDM workflow through Java Api's
    Hope this helps
    Thanks & Regards

  • No receiver could be determined while doing SAP ECC Integraion with MDM 7

    Dear All,
    Can you please help me to resolve the following issue.
    We are doing SAP ECC Integration with MDM 7.1 by using MDM PI Adapter.
    Source side we are processing MATMAS.MATMAS05 IDoc and Receiver side we are using MDM PI Adapter to Connect the MDM System.
    I have checked the Configuration by using Test Configuration Wizard, it showing every thing fine there.
    Is it because of any network connection issue at the Target system (MDM) side?
    Plz check the error message for your reference;

    </SAP:Error>
    Thanks
    Mahesh

    Hi,
    From error looks like it is not failing at receiver determination step. if you all configurations are fine, then this could be because of system cache refresh.
    Go to Edit mode in your scenario and again save it and activate it. Do a cache refresh and check if it works.

  • Make an iView from MDM Web Dynpro Component

    Hello!
    I have read documentation about configuration of MDM WD Component.
    What I have found - MDM WD Components are used as standalone application and inside BPM.
    But what about iView?
    How to make an iVIew from MDM WD Component and to link it with Configration? Is it possible to use Application Parameters property?

    I have experimenting with MDM WD Components and what I have found that my approach don't work
    It is not possible to work with MDM WD Components like old MDM Portal Content because there is no client events.
    But is possible to create WD application wrapper for each layout (portal page) and configure it by iView property - Application parameters.
    For example wrapper for layout - Search panel on the left, another search panel, result set and item details on the right.
    I have a question for all:
    What doy you think is there a need to request SAP to include such wrappers into SCA file with MDM WD Components?

  • Inter iView Connectivity : MDM SP4

    Hi,
    I'm working with EP Business Package for MDM SP4. The requirement is to integrate the functionality of MDM iViews with Web Dynpro iViews. This can be done through client side eventing ( EPCF ) and I read in MDM SP4 feature list that, this connectivity is provided.
    But, I'm not able to find any documents on the events being trigerred by MDM iViews. If anyone has tried or have some idea please do tell me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mausam

    Dear Mausam,
    please confirm: the suggested steps from chapter Support of the How to guide were applied.
    Does it work now ? Is the mdm config visible in UWL Content
    Configuration ?
    If there is still no result (e.g. the mdm config still not visible in
    UWL Content Configuration), then most probably this is a wrong
    deployment issue on NW04s that will be fixed in SP4 patch3.
    Please proceed with the following workaround:
    1. locate the com.sap.mdm.uwl.par file in the installation folder of
    Portal, e.g.
    \usr\sap\<sysID>\JC<instanceNo>\j2ee\cluster\server<cluster>\apps\sap.
    com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd\com.sap.mdm.uwl.par.
    bak
    2. open the zipped com.sap.mdm.uwl.par.bak file (e.g. using WinZip or
    WinRar), and extract the file uwl_mdm.xml to your local PC.
    3. logon to portal with Admin access, and navigate to System
    Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist & Workflow
    -> Universal Worklist - Administration -> Click to Administrate Item
    Types and View Definitions -> Upload new configuration -> then Upload
    the xml file from the step 2 above.
    4. restart the com.sap.netweaver.uwl services and clear the UWL cache
    (as described in the above referenced article).
    Does it work now ? Is the mdm config visible in UWL Content
    Configuration ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards.
