Integrating OBIEE into Siebel Application

Hi All,
Currently we are using Oracle Business Intelligence - 10.1.3.4, we have a requirement where we need to integrate the Analytics into siebel application i.e there should be a tab in the Siebel application which when clicked it should display the analytics application ( authentication should be done at the database level i.e no further authentication should not be prompted) i.e all the subject areas or answers should be displayed can any one please guide us how exactly this can be done.

"Action Link" dropdown does not appear under Value Interactions in Column Format tab. This is because OBI and SWSE are not hosted on the same webserver.
So you need to perform additional steps to configure a VIP that will in turn route the requests to the corresponding crm or analytics servers based on the request received. Please refer to the following posting which explains this requirement in more detail :
Requirements for Web Server Setup in an Integrated Siebel Analytics Environment (Doc ID 477579.1)
There are different products/routers available to setup VIP - this part should be setup by your network team.
Once crm and analytics can be sucessfully accessed using same VIP, change the NQHOST value to VIP value.
Please retest and now you should see "Action Link" dropdown in column format tab where you can set viewname and applet name.

Did you set the NQHOST parameter in Siebel? Read also this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14847_01/bia.796/e14843/anyinstadmnappintegrate.htm#i1043309
The action link option is only available in an integrated environment. This also means you need to access Answers via Siebel.
There are also some license keys which must be activated in Siebel. You can get them here: http://licensecodes.oracle.com/siebel_crm_bi_integration.html

How to integrate two Siebel Applications into single app UI

Dear All,
Currently we have a Siebel application which is running with various Siebel modules. Like for example in one single application object manager we are having various screens and views related to various modules like UCM, Loyalty, Marketing etc.
But due to some operational reasons, we would like to deploy few modules as applications on different machines.For example we will install a separate Marketing application on a server and loyalty on a separate server.
How can we integrate all these applications installed in different different machines in a single App Object Manager to provide a single UI interface for the user.
So even after segregating into different applications, we would like to have single app UI for user.
Please suggest if it already being implemented in such a way anywhere.

Embed EID application into Siebel IFRAME ?

Hi,
I want to embed my Endeca information discovery studio application into Siebel Ifram. So to do that i need Symbolic URL of EID studio application which contains the Parameter of Username & password to skip the authentication process while loading the EID studio application in Siebel.
Can anyone pls let me know how to make the Symbolic URL or is there anyother way of doing it?

Out-of-the-box, no, you can't pass a regular Studio username and password (assuming the users are created and managed in Studio) in the URL.
If you set up Studio to use single sign-on, where they log in using an existing account, then they would be logged in automatically. Using SSO in Studio is discussed here:

How to integrate Events from Siebel application to Oracle Webcenter portal

Hi
We have a requirement where one application resides in Siebel and the poral is running on Oracle Webcenter Portal. Here we want to see the events/appointment which are created in Siebel Application, should be visible in Oracle Webcenter Portal's calendar as soon as user logs in. It is a Hospital portal, and appointments are created in Siebel Application and when Doctor logs in to portal (running on Oracle webcenter portal), user should be able to see them on his Calendar/event.
Please help me how to go ahead with it.

Not sure that I agree with my friend Yannick on this. I think that you can change to point to a different DBMS. You might be able to do this by reconfiguring the Siebel server and give SQL Server as your DBMS and then give the correct SQL connect into. At worst case I think you can change the server data source named subsystem. You will need to change the DLL name and well as the connect info. If the reconfiguration does not work your best bet would be to compare the settings from your server data source for Oracle to a known good server data source for SQL Server.
BTW, why would you make this change? As a database Oracle can’t be beat. 11g is incredible.

Siebel Application Interface

Hi,
I need a Siebel Application Interface in a poc (but without installing the actual Rapid Mart) as a starter/teaser for a Siebel Rapid Mart later on. The problem is that I am not able to find neither the Siebel Rapid Mart or the Application Interface at the SAP portal - BusinessObjects packages and products - Bobj Rapid Marts. Suprising that the Siebel Rapid Mart is not there, but what about the Application Interface ? Is it only included together with the Mart, or do I need a special key to activate it in Bodi or is it the one named 'BOBJ XI 3.1 INTEGRATION FOR SIEBEL SOFTWARE WINDOWS' although that sounds like a BOE specific software.

Unforunately SaveSession only saves the attributes and their values. The text of an attribute cannot be saved.
If you really need the attribute text, you would probably have to use some custom code to do the following:
1. Create a text attribute (a2) that will hold the text of the attribute you want the text for (a1):
2. Create a event handler that sets the value of the text attribute (a2) to the text of the attribute (a1).
3. When save is called the text attribute (a2) will be saved to the session.
Its no a very elegant solution, but its the only way I can think of to do it.

You can certainly reduce the latency of web requests by making things asynchronous. e.g. if you have a slow piece of functionality such as registration & sending of emails back, you could make that completely asynchronous and just send a message to a JMS Queue then consume it in another process/thread. Then the user of your web application doesn't have to wait for the slow processing to complete before their browser refreshes.
To make it easy to integrate JMS into your application, you might want to stick to a POJO model and then use Spring Remoting over JMS via Lingo

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I tried searching the newsgroup with
no success. tia.
I am trying to integrate the struts application found in the struts-example.war
file that I extracted from the jakarta-struts-1.1.zip file from jakarta.apache.org.
(I have successfully deployed and tested this war file to the weblogic server
so I know the application works.)
I unzip the war file into a temp directory and follow the instructions found in
"e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/portal/buildportals/appIntegratingStruts.html"
After creating a struts portlet using the wizard and putting the portlet into
my test portal, when I try to run the portal using debug in Workshop, I get:

How can I get back into my application aftermath invoking Start up page of index.htm ?

Am using Adobe RoboHelp, Version 10 and IE version being 10.
A hurdle :-
I have a application which has been developed in ASP .NET, Version 4.0. Help link has been created in this application wherein here the Start up page of index.htm has been linked to be read from the RoboHelp local project folder\!SSL!\Multiscreen_HTML5\desktop. All are working absolutely fine except when
I login into the above-said application -> click on the Help page -> the index.htm opens with Contents, Index, Glossary -> Am able to successfully perform any task by respective clickings
-> But I am not able to get back into my application when I click on the IE provided Back button (Alt+Left) -> Any amount of invoking Back button makes the system getting looped into this Start up page of index.htm only -> When I Close Tab (Ctrl + W) or Close ( X ) -> The window session gets closed and I have to repeat all by relogin once again.
How can I get back into my application aftermath invoking Start up page of index.htm ?
(I can always get back into the application easily by erasing those parts in the url which refers to this RoboHelp linkages – but this certainly looks non-polished work)

Hey Jeff, I used Internet Explorer 10.0.9200 and Google Chrome 26.0.1410. Alas - it is the same behavior.
(But Jeff : When I used Microsoft HTML Help as primary layout to generate chm file , My Help when launched from my Application opened in a new browser window and when I closed this Help browser window did not close my application. Looks like need to write few liner code to get this issue settled )

Propagating users/Groups/Roles into partner application

I am very newbee to portal development. I have a following need.
I want to use Single SingOn feature of Portal. Once the user logged in to the portal via SSo, there may be several applications(within the portal) to which S/He may have access to. Based on who S/He is, may have different level of authorization to what S/He can do into different applications within the portal. How I can make use of user entered for Single Signon, propagate to the application level inside the portal.
My understanding so far with the portal is that you can develop a portal which has web clipping portlets, external/internal applications, items etc. When we create the users and groups and assign roles to the users, it is limited to the portal front page that we publish to public.
My problem is further down, into different applications which I expose with the help of portlet or by any other means. And have control over in that particular application(individual), which portion of the application users should be able to see or take any action.
Your help is highly appreciated.

With new Photos app, I can no longer drag and drop photos into other applications as I did in the past with iPhoto.

For instance, I have a photo collage app that in the past, I could just drag in the photos I wanted to include. Now, I can DRAG the photos, but they do not DROP. So, I have to go through the export process. It is tedious. What am I missing? Where can I turn on the drag and drop feature for Photos?

YOu're not looking in the right palce. That's inside the iPhoto Application.
You need to look inside the iPhoto Library
As I sid above:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there
