Integrating Oracle Prodjucts

I'm using a JDBC connection to PORTAL R2. Has anyone attempted this yet?
I began building my applications using the PORTAL infrastructure. The problem came in its speed and flexibility. I decided to use JDeveloper; creating JSP using JAVA classes instead of JAVABeans.
I'm moving from ASP(VBScript classes) to JSP(JAVA Classes).
I setup my PROVIDER in Portal; creating my database objects to be used in my JSP application, and then connect to PORTAL using JDBC to connect to it.
Is there any known issues or help out there?

I think you might have better luck getting your question answered on the forum for Discoverer at Discoverer
I'm not sure whether Discoverer supports extensions, but I would assume that they do in some way. Discoverer ought to provide a standard mechanism for extensions to provide help content.

Using Integration Repository might cause performance overhead based on the operation you are doing, I have never used Integration Repository for 3rd Party integration therefore I am not able to make any comment on this.
Calling directly as a Java Client is an easy approach and you can use ATG component framework to support that by making the endpoint, security credentials etc as configurable properties.

Integrating Oracle EBS and ApEx Aplication with Responsibilities and SSO.

Good day all.
I am looking forward from getting somebody 's help, the trouble I am facing is described below:
a) I am currently working on SSO with EBS. I mean, my users can connect and work perfectly.
b) ApEx is Configured as Application Partner with SSO, and the application we built (it's call PR-Auto)
is working good under SSO platform. I mean I am able to login using TEST user and password TEST in
both applications (EBS and PR-Auto).
c) The thing is that I need to call PR-Auto from one responsibility in EBS;

I am doing custom authencitaion and calling apex_authorise function there.
Although I am able to Call the ApEX and able to validate application server password,but moment i try taking help off cookies
to pass on my application session details to ApEX so that users would not have to login twice,i am gettign the error.
Second question:
Do we have any other methos of passing session to ApEX from Application server other than cookies.

We had already gone through that document earlier. We noticed that when Apllication Profile "*Apllications SSO Type* " is set to SSWA then OA_HTML/AppsLogout is
working fine , but when we set "*Applications SSO Type*" to SSWA w/SSO then OA_HTML/AppsLogout is not working(not redirecting) .Error thrown on web browser is "+500 Internal Server Error Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response+" . we believe that we might have missed some Profile settings that is causing this error.

Integrating Oracle EBS with web services which use SAML authentication

I have a requirement to invoke web service using PL/SQL from a Custom Form of EBS.
The web Service is configured to use SAML as authentication mechanism.
Coming to question!
1) How do I make my EBS integrate with a SAML provider preferably (Oracle Identity Federation) ?
2) How do i get the SAML token in my PL/SQL and pass it on to the web service?

Integrating Oracle eBusiness Suite with banking services using Oracle SOA

I am working on a project for integrating Oracle eBusiness Suite with banking services using Oracle SOA. We have implemented Oracle SOA and trying to call bank's services using SOA.
The bank has provided its web services over http which accepts XML data as string through HTTPS post invocation and provides response accordingly in string XML Data.
For each service, specific format of request and response message has been provided.
I am trying to call their web services using HTTP binding adapter.
I would like to know whether my approach of calling bank's web service using HTTP binding adapter is correct or not.

I wouldn't try installing Oracle VM itself on an EC2 instance, as EC2 is essentially Xen itself. Rather, you should just be able to transport existing Oracle VM images to the EC2 cloud. I think this is what you mean, but your opening paragraph is slightly ambiguous. :)
From a VPN perspective, I'd use OpenVPN as it has clients for all major operating systems (Windows, MacOS X, Linux) that are fairly easy to package and install. Packages for OpenVPN exist in EPEL so it's easy to install on OEL5. You could also consider using a firewall instead of a VPN and only allowing connectivity from specific IP addresses/ranges. This has the benefit of not requiring client software, but it does require a fixed IP address/range on the client-side.

Now we are planning to use OViD (Oracle Virtual Directory) for our Product so we integrated OID with OViD and now we are able to view the OID users in OViD. But Still My Product is using Single Sign On, which is enabled with OID only. Do we need to enable OViD (Oracle Virtual Directory) for Single Sign On? If yes please help us how to integrate (enable) OViD with Single Sign On.

I Integrated Oracle Portal & Microsoft Active Directory without any error or problems but it just integrate the users under Users Container in active directory, I have some OU,Groups and policies and I categorized my users under them, so when I run "sh oidspadi.sh" and set "cn=...." with other values except "Users" it can not add all of the users under specific groups or policies.
Please let me know how can I add all of my users in active directory to OID?

I'm not familiar with iPlanet, but if it can allow basic
authentication and connect to AD, it should be possible to do what
you want.
Personally, I would rather that the browser did not
automatically log me in. For example, if someone was having
problems with their "view" on the intranet web site, if they
visited your office, you would have to log off, let them log on
(and wait while their profile was created) just to let them open a
browser.
Is it really asking too much for them to enter their
username/password into a browser prompt once each day? Heck, most
browsers will remember usernames and passwords so you don't have to
type it. You just click OK.
That's just my perspective.

Display Integrated Oracle Report in New Browser Window

I am using APEX 3.0.1 and Reports Builder 10g and have integrated my Oracle Reports (.rdf) successfully with APEX.
The trouble is that the report output (in PDF format) is opening in the same browser window as my APEX application and I would like to spawn a new browser window to display the report output.
The report is being called from a button with a Target of URL and the URL Target is:
&REPORTS_URL.&module=DEBITNOTE_REP.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&P_DEBITNOTEID=&P73_DEBITNOTEID.

Had to do the same thing last week.
1. Create a javascript function that accepts the report parameters and calls the window.open function for the reports URL
2. Change the URL on the report button to call this new function
It might also be worth using a cmdfile (see reports doco) to simplify the URL

Problem integrating Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7 with MDBs

All:
I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
Background:
- We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
- I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage(Message) method
performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
Problem:
The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set them up to query
against a Pointbase database and deploy to Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But
this was only a test to see if everything would work.
I now need to query against an Oracle database. I got the updated version of the
Oracle Thin Driver and put it in the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I
even added it to the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.
But am still having problems.
To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the user, password, URL,
and driver settings in a java file using JDBC connections - and they worked fine.
They just aren't working when integrated into Weblogic.
The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with Oracle 9i. The software
integrated fine when tables from a Pointbase database were queried. The only changes
made have been to make the connectivity to Oracle.
My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows if this is a
known problem or what the problem is please let me know.
Just FYI my settings are as follows:
