  • Best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service

    Hi All
    What is the best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service? Is it using integration repository or calling the web service directly from the java class using a WS client?
    With Thanks & Regards
    Abhishek

    Using Integration Repository might cause performance overhead based on the operation you are doing, I have never used Integration Repository for 3rd Party integration therefore I am not able to make any comment on this.
    Calling directly as a Java Client is an easy approach and you can use ATG component framework to support that by making the endpoint, security credentials etc as configurable properties.

  • Integrating Oracle Help with Discoverer Plus

    Folks -
    Has anyone tried integrating Oracle Help with Discoverer Plus. I want to add my customized help (generated in RoboHelp - Oracle) to the help in Discoverer Plus. Is this doable? I don't want to use Oracle Help exclusively unless I need to.

    Hi, Johnny.
    I think you might have better luck getting your question answered on the forum for Discoverer at Discoverer
    I'm not sure whether Discoverer supports extensions, but I would assume that they do in some way. Discoverer ought to provide a standard mechanism for extensions to provide help content.
    Hope this helps,

  • Integrating Oracle EBS with web services which use SAML authentication

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to invoke web service using PL/SQL from a Custom Form of EBS.
    The web Service is configured to use SAML as authentication mechanism.
    Coming to question!
    1) How do I make my EBS integrate with a SAML provider preferably (Oracle Identity Federation) ?
    2) How do i get the SAML token in my PL/SQL and pass it on to the web service?

    Do we need to install Oracle Database 11gR2 (s/w only) again on the Oracle Database Server or can we use the existing Oracle EBS Database 11gR2 Home which is already on 11.2?
    Regards,
    ThiruAs mentioned in the doc "If your E-Business Suite R12 is already integrated with 11gR2 database, you just need to enable Database Vault 11gR2 & register it with the database as per Task 3", so no installation of ORACLE_HOME is required and you just need to "Register Oracle Database Vault".

  • Configuring SES with UCM

    Anybody know what the SearchIndexerEngineName parameter should be set to in the UCM config file when using SES as the search engine?
    Bill

    According to the documentation, there is a way of using SES with 10g and I am halfway there. You start by installing the OracleTextSearch component and go from there. The steps are in the OracleTextSearch Installation and Administration Guide and are generally as follows...
    1) Install the SES crawler
    2) Install the OracleTextSearch component
    3) Run a couple of database scripts to modify the database
    4) Modify the UCM config paramaters to be:
    SearchIndexerEngineName=OracleTextSearch
    IndexerDatabaseProviderName=SystemDatabase
    At this point the text search component is working great. The next step is to connect it to the SES index, which is what I am about to try. The documentation says to...
    1) Stop the SES database
    2) Start the SES database back end
    but this seems too simple and unless some magic occurs in the background I'm not sure what it accomplishes. Plus the doucmentation seems to end abruptly followed by a blank page so I am suspicious.

  • Integrating Oracle Apex with Oracle eBusiness Suite

    Hi All,
    Can someone give me details about how we can integrate Oracle Apex with eBusiness Suite. We have few custom forms/ reports which are being developed in Apex. We want to register these in oracle applications as standard functions and link them to user responsibilities. Is it a good idea to create ApEx as separate application or can we use an existing application (like OM).
    Any pointers, references, documents with reference to this would be very useful.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Integrating Oracle APPS with APEX using popay_apex package...

    Hi,
    I am a newbie in APEX and tried to explore it only a few months back...
    I must admit that this tool is Awesome..!!!
    Also, I tried to integrate Oracle EBS 11i with APEX using [popay package |https://sites.google.com/a/popay.be/apex-on-apps/integration] and the integration was absolutely fantastic...!!!
    h6. (Thanks Thierry for your impecabble work on developing and releasing this excellent package under BSD License !!!)
    My question is,
    I have created an Online Leave Application (OLA) in APEX which should retrieve the username from EBS Login and display the leave information of that particular user.
    I have created the OLA in APEX and registered it in EBS as a form function and also attached it to a user responsibility.
    When I run the form thru the EBS Responsibility logged in as a EBS user, the OLA Application opens in a new window...
    But,
    The username is retrieved as APPS instead of the user's login info.
    because of this retrieval the global variable :APP_USER is storing the username as APPS and all my internal references with :APP_USER has been erroring with "NO DATA FOUND", since there is no user login as APPS.
    Is there any way to overcome this bottleneck...?
    Or Do I need to add any code in the APEX >Application >Security > VPD
    Thanks in Advance...
    Ben

    Hi,
    I have solved the issue, Thanks to Rod & Thierry !
    I have created a cookie to send the apps username to my APEX application.
    (Added this code snippet in the popay_apex.start_application procedure)
    --------<CODE>------------------------------------------
    l_user := fnd_global.USER_NAME;
    OWA_COOKIE.send
    +(NAME=>'APEX',+
    VALUE=>l_user,
    path=>'/');
    ---------<ENDS>----------------------------------------
    (Created an on-load before header process at page 1 and fetched the cookie value to an application item.)
    -----------<CODE>-------------------------------------
    DECLARE
    c OWA_COOKIE.cookie;
    a wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2;
    BEGIN
    c := OWA_COOKIE.get('APEX');
    a := htmldb_util.string_to_table(c.vals(1));
    +:F101_USER := a(1);+
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
    NULL;
    END;
    -------------<ENDS>---------------------------------------
    It's a mashup of Rod & Thierry's work....!
    Hat's off to Rod & Thierry !

  • Integrating Oracle Applications with Siteminder for SSO.

    We currently have a Oracle Apps implementations with Oracle 9iAS as Application server. We are planning to integrate it in SSO using Netegrity Siteminder.
    Please let me know your thoughts on the following
    1) Additional softwares or patches needed to be applied at Oracle Application Server level before integrating with Siteminder. Do we need to install Oracle SSO seprately or does it come as part of Oracle 9iAS.
    2) Also how will we implement SSO using siteminder without OID.
    Any documents on it will help.

    The Netegrity Siteminder Webagent will authenticate to some third party, probably the corporate LDAP. Using Oracle SSO (OSSO) is required and a java plugin needs to be customized. See:
    Oracle® Application Server Single Sign-On Administrator's Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.1.2) < I know different version but doesn't matter
    B14078-02
    Specifically Chapter - 13 Integrating with Third-Party Access Management Systems. That is a minor task.
    Loading OID is a prerequisite and needs to contain the users that will need access to the protected resources in the environment. If it's a small amount of users, manually maintaining OID may not be a big deal utilizing OIDDAS but if it is a large amount, then this effort is a big deal. Big deal meaning a load utilizing the bulkload utility and a custom job that syncronizes the "Corporate LDAP" with OID. Mapping is important. External dependancy with the "Corporate LDAP" folks.
    Another couple of important things to consider:
    1. The seeded users in OID, such as orcladmin will most likely not be in the "Corporate LDAP" so once Netegrity Simplified Sign On (SSO) comes into play, those users are locked out. Orcladmin is a superuser in OIDDAS. For that reason, server administrators or DBA's that are in OID need to be granted OIDDAS privileges prior to enabling the Netegrity agent to prevent being locked out of that important but sensative tool. Disabling and re-enabling SSO is as simple as editing 2 config files and bouncing a few things though.
    2. The OIDDAS Password lockout policy will start locking users after 60 days with no warning unless changed. If oidadmin gets locked, the fix is Note:251354.1. Very important to change the policy since it will be handled by the "Corporate LDAP". Note:251354.1 covers this. Basically using the oidadmin utility, change the "Password Expiry Time" from the default 5184000 to zero "0" which turn off the policy.
    The realms that should be protected on the Netegrity policy server are both infrastructure. 7777/oiddas and 7777/sso need to be protected realms on the policy server. If you have a protected application going to mid-tier applications like 7778/discoverer/viewer, they get redirected to the infrastructure 7777/sso because if the directive in mod_osso.conf. Forms will be protected by the 7777/sso realm as well. On the Netegrity Policy Server, unprotected sub-realms can be created under protected realms.
    The custom java plugin tells Oracle to trust the "Corporate LDAP" for authentication but authorization can still be performed within OID.
    This all sounds difficult but it is really simple. The only part than can get difficult and time consuming is the OID load. Hopefully you get Siteminder DAS access to administer your realms on the Policy server.
    Hope this helps! - Ron

  • Help : Integrating Oracle Composer with ADF Application

    Hi All,
    I wanted to add to an existing page Oracle Composer.
    So here is what I did.
    1) Setup webcenter suite so that I can utilize oracle composer.
    2) Added the oracle composer fragment i.e <pe:pageCustomizable id="pageCustomizable1"> to the my jspx.
    3) Added Form based Authentication to my application.
    4) Provided two types of roles. One as admin role and other as basic role,The admin role had edit permission to edit the above mentioned
    page.
    5) Added a site layer to allow customization done by the admin user to be stored to the custom site layer.
    6) Upon doing so my user with admin role is just able to personalize his page and not able to customize the application for other users.
    Could some body let me know if i have missed anything.
    Regards
    Harish

    Hi,
    there is no native way of doing this - as of yet. There is a work-around documented on this blog: http://www.oratransplant.nl/2007/05/03/published-paper-about-using-oracle-forms-as-web-component/
    In Forms 11, Forms will have a JavaScript API allowing you to interact with the page the Applet renders on. This allows you to call out and in to Forms. I think though that the more robust integration point is the Forms Java API on the server
