Integrating Page Title iview and Discussion Iview

Hi,
We have assigned the customized Default Framework Page to the 'Everyone' group wherein we have removed
the Page title bar Iview. So the users dont have the option of the 'History' and 'Back' buttons available on that iview.
We dont want to make this iview available to all pages as it is consuming some space.Our problem lies here:
In the Room Directory page, We get the list of available rooms. When any of the available rooms are clicked, it takes us to
the Discussion iview. Here, since there is no Page title bar available, the users are not able to navigate backwards.It is only
here that we want to make the Page title bar iview available.But since on clicking on any of the rooms, it takes us
directly to the Discussion iview and not a Page, we are not able to integrate the Page title bar iview.
Please help us in this regard.

Hi,
Even I was trying for the solution which you have suggested but the problem is how to call the new page which contains the discussion iview because, by default, all the rooms show the link which points to the original Discussion iView. How can we change the link to point to the new page.
Also is there any other provision of adding a 'Back' button.

Product page title font and a suggestion

Is it possible to change the title font used on product pages? There doesn't seem to be any customisation option as there is on the 'spotlight' page.
I'm not sure whether I've set this somewhere but it's the same for all three books I've published on lulu.com.
I've just checked and it's obviously set according to the category in which the book appears - I'm leaving this post here in case anyone else has the same question as I couldn't find an answer anywhere.
Suggestion: Change the title font for books in the history section - it doesn't match any other fonts on the page and being such a strong art deco (or art nouveau?) style, it's inappropriate for books that don't sit in that narrow time-frame.

No it's not. There's no reason it should be, and the Wizard has no idea what category you place the book in until past the Cover Wizard.

It's nothing at all to do with the book type. Take a look at the Cover Wizard and click all the tabs and options in it.

if you want all of the text to match then create a full cover image on your PC and delete the text in the Cover Wizard.

Disable Refresh menu option on Page Title Bar

Hi,
We have a TLN node that opens an iview in a new window. Therefore nothing is displayed in the portal page. However the Page Title Bar menu still has all the options (Open in New Window, Refresh, Details etc.) and if a user selects Refresh, it throws a portal runtime error (iView not found: .default). How can I disable the menu options for this iview? I have tried setting the Show Refresh etc. parameters to No but it didn't work - I assume because the iview isn't being opened in the portal page.

the iview you need to explore is page title bar i view in default framework page available in portal standard user directory in portal content.In this context i would like to suggest a solution why don,t you creat a default framework page just copy it in your folder and open it and disable all checkboxes associated to page title bar and save after that go on to create a deskttop in portal display in system configuration and add your framework page and theme from themes in portal content and then add a rule to the main rule in super administrators folder which will for role of the user will display onle that desktop.i have illustrated the concept of branding if you want to avoid codeing or command groups which is long approach.hope this helps youplease do not forget to give points

Unpleasant Page Name in Page Title Bar

Hi,
I want to get rid of the page title displayed on the left side of the page title bar.
I therefore looked after the settings of the default frameworkpage > page title bar and checked the properties of that page.
Unfortunately I didn't find the right setting here.
I expected to simply deactivate the option "show object name in tray" but that didn't help.
We are on EP6 SPS 11
Any hints?

Hi Stefan,
As far as I know, that's the only way. Another option is to not display the Page title bar itself, but with this, the options will also not be displayed (history, back, options...).

Iview Name on the page title bar

Hi All,
For our ESS/MSS iviews, text specified on the service (IMG Configuration) used to appear on the Page title bar. We have recently upgraded our Portal and backend system and now instead of the text speacied on the service, iview name appears on the page title bar.
For example .. The iview name is Address and in the SPRO we created a service called "Address XYZ". On area page the service appears as "Address XYZ", but when we click on the link on the page title bar it shows "Address" instead of "Address XYZ"
Please let me know how change this.

Hiding iView Name in the page title bar.

My requirement is to hide the Page name which is getting displayed in the page title bar. Please note that I want to display the tray and other options like history, back, forward etc. Would appreciate if anyone can help me in this regard a tyour earliest.Please....

Hi Kris,
if u want to do it for a particula page..
You can disable that by changing "Show object name in Tray" to "No" in the Property Editor for that page.
If u want to do it for the portal as a whole go to default framework page under Standard user role folder.
and uncheck the visible tab of the page title property......

JScript error in Application integrated by URL iView

Hi All,
I've got a problem with integrating an application in the portal by using an URL iView in popup-mode. When opened, a Javascript error is shown indicating that a certain object under "parent." can't be accessed by the application. I suspect that is because the portal doesn't really open a blank popup window but adds its own code on top of the page. Unfortunately we can't alter the code since it's a third party application.
The iView is set to "display in separate window" (= popup) and I played around with every single option in the "Web Page Area" category - and most of the other options available in the iView editor that seemed to make sense.
When clicking "preview" in the iView editor the application always works perfectly in the popup that appears. But I can see from the looks of the URL that the application is called in a different way when clicking "preview". It's not a portal URL then - it's being called directly.
Is there any way to create an URL iView that simply opens an URL as a popup without any portal frames or portal code added - just like the "preview" button does?

first of all thanks a lot for trying to recreate my scenario.
I created a test role and added cnn.com as an URL iView just so that we are both talking about the same thing. No problem there - the portal redirects and the URL reads "cnn.com".
I did the same with our application in question (all iView options to default except for "Open in New Window"). There it doesn't work, the site just loads partially and then stops due to a JScript error. Again, not so if I just click "Preview" in the iView editor.
We're on 2004s SP9
Here's what I think happens:
When I navigate to "View --> Source" in Internet Explorer (be it CNN or be it our application) there's a lot of portal code with an IFRAME at the bottom:
<IFRAME src='http://myapplication.company.com/' frameBorder=0 style='WIDTH:100%' height='100%' id='isolatedWorkArea' name='isolatedWorkArea'></IFRAME>
CNN doesn't mind but it seems that the JS-programming of our application gets confused because the application is not the topmost element in the DOM hierarchy (instead it's just inside a full size IFRAME surrounded by an invisible portal page).
Is there any way to get rid of this code? As I said, I already tried the various iView-options...

Page Title and new Window

Hi,
I have created an iview and page that points to one of our R3 backend systems. The name of the iview and page is DV2. When a user clicks on the link in the detailed nav bar it launches a new window. What I would like to do is set the Page Title of the new window to DV2. I also have a UPG and PRD page that needs the title set. Is that possible and if so how might I go about doing that?
Our environment is SAP Netweaver SP12.

if you think of influencing the window title - this is not dynamically possible by standard means.

Hi,
your BSP page get's integrated via an iFrame. So, simply speaking, it's not possible to pass an parameter back.
But what you can try is to use the Portal DataBag component. In the BSP page, store the information you want to pass in the browser. The iView/Portal than has to check if there is a new parameter / value stored.

Blank page in iview - need help

Hi All,
I really need your expertise..Actually, I've issue with my users, where few of them encountered missing page in their iView. I tried to to find 'user setting option' but unfortunately, it gave nothing..only windows option,i.e, print, view source code, properties and so on.and amazingly there was no error message,it just give them an empty screen,no header,no subview, etc.
Wondering is there any place,where i can restore their missing page or iview..It only happened to some people, and i believe they accidentally clicked on 'Remove Page' Option
FYI, Am using NETWEAVER 7.0

My wish is to enter URL Parameter = uname(static) and Value = portaluid(This value should be get dynamically from portal).Consequently,How can I get dynamically portal userid in the url iview value.Is that possible?

Is there a reason you don't want to use application integrator? Because it is quite simple to create what you want using application integrator.
I don't think URL iView supports dynamic parameters...

How to pass parameters from GP to Portal-page or iView

Hello all,
I tried various things but I'm not succesfull in creating an callable object of type 'Portal-page or iView' which receives certain parameters.
Currently we open the portal page from within a WebDynpro. I pass a string "zaanum=909&zasnum=1" to the Portal-page. The parameters are received in the webDynpro-app.
Now I want to do this from within GP. I thought to create a CO of type 'portal-page or iview' and the parameters are given to that CO.
I expect the parameters to be received by the WebDynpro in the iView.
I tried:
- defining one parameter for CO of type string. At initiation time I fill this with "zaanum=909&zasnum=1" ==> Nothing received in iView/WebDynpro
- defining two parameters (technical names 'zaanum' and 'zasnum') for CO of type string. At initiation time I fill them with 909 and 1 ==> Nothing received
- defining two parameters (technical names 'zaanum' and 'zasnum') for CO of type integer. At initiation time I fill them with 909 and 1 ==> Nothing received
- defining two parameters (parameter names 'zaanum' and 'zasnum') for CO of type string. At initiation time I fill them with 909 and 1 ==> Nothing received

Page Title and Navigation Panel

The title toolbar is able to display the page title of the current page. I would like to display the page title automatically within the wpc template so I was wondering if there was some sort of session variable I can use that will display the title?
Also I would like the Navigation panel to open to the width of the longest iView rather than the longest DTN Item - is it possible to set it to do so?

It's resolved. I think that user was not assigned to personal number in R3.
