I have been trying to obtain information about "integrating project planning systems with business planning systems (ERP, PLM)" but I could not find any proper source. Would you help me out on this?
I would like to focus on what benefits can be expected from a close integration of project planning
tools and enterprise information systems such as ERP and what evidence is there that
this is being exploited. If you can help me out with proper sources, I would be appreciated.

As per my understanding i think you would like to know the benefits of integrating your legacy Project Planning system with the ERP system. Please correct me if am wrong. Hi,
Basically, there is no difference. Till the version 7.0, it was called business planning and consolidation. From 7.5 ,its called business objects planning and consolidation.

Integrating custom developed software with SAP B1.

Dear Experts,
We have developed a CRM application by using C#.NET and SQL Server. All the reports are developed by using Crystsl Reports.
This CRM software meets the complete Customer Relation business requirements.
We have installed SAP B1 also in our company, and planning to integrate the CRM software to B1.
Is it possible to open the CRM application within SAP B1, say, if I click a Menu item? If so, how?
Can I share the data between both B1 and CRM? and how it can be done?
Please help.

Yes, it's possible. Just add a menu entry for you application (I suggest under Menu 43535 - Business Partners Module), catch the Menu Event for your menu entry and open your CRM App.
You can find lots of topics about how to add Menus and handle Menu events here in the forum.
Can I share the data between both B1 and CRM? and how it can be done?
Yes you can, but it can sometimes be limited.
You can catch the B1 FormData events and sincronize data with your CRM or you can use the B1 DI Event Service to notify your CRM when new data has been added/removed/updated in B1 and synchronize both apps then.
I recommend you read this article about the method.
Any specific issues, please let us know.

Authorizations for BPS planning interface with global planning sequence

Hi Experts,
I am creating authorizations for BPS project. I have a web interface with BPS layout (excel) and after users enter data there is a global planning sequence to be triggered. However there is some authorization missing in my concept as I receive "no authorization to display data" message.
I have found authorization objects for BPS and put full access everywhere but it is still happening:

R_PLEVEL
R_PACKAGE
R_METHOD
R_PARAM
R_BUNDLE
R_PROFILE
R_PM_NAME</b>
On different web interface without global planning sequence everything is ok and data is saved. If I use SAP_ALL I am able to save data also with the sequence so obviously I am missing some authorization. RSSM su53 and st01 don't show anything.
If you know something please advise.

How do the new plans affect current Business Plans?

Couple of questions.
1. Do the share everything plans affect business accounts?
2. we have 10 lines. 4 Iphones. I understand that if you upgrade your phone from now on you will loose your unlimited data. So say 1 employee wants to upgrade their iphone when the new one comes out. Does our entire accounts unlimited go away since he upgraded?

With the link Planning Modeler and Planning Wizard should be opened.
I mean if we click on Start Modeler button in transaction RSPLAN, the link should redirect us to Planning Modeler.
And if we click on Start Wizard button in the transaction RSPLAN, the link should redirect us to Planning Wizard.

Build stable business plan

Hi all,
Pls suggest how to build business plan in 4.6c and see the below requirements associated with.
Business plan is prepared at begining of contract depends on the contract period.
say for business plan has to be prpeared for 5 years.
all the costs like material, labour, overhead cost and other cost need to be taken into consideration and in case of future years Esclation rate should be take into consideration say for exp 8% in arriving the business plan.
Once business plan is prepared with all the information, Net present values is calculated with interest rate of 25%. Based on NPV calculation Bidding team determines whether it is feasable to go ahead with the proposal or not by deriving the positive or negative cash flows.
Therfore all these things should be considered in Business plan.
Pls suggest how to meet these req and which module supports it.

I want to upgrade to a smartphone on a small business plan. How much more will it be?

I want to know how much more it will be to upgrade from a basic phone with no data to a smartphone such as an iPhone with 1 or 2 GB of data a month. I'm currently on a plan with my business so I want to know how much a month this will change the overall bill. I want to know before approaching one of the managers about upgrading. I feel its a bad idea not to know exactly how much more it will be and if it will be affordable for me. Thanks!

Currently we are using Invoicing Plan Purchase Orders with Partial Invoicing plans and do a normal Logistics Invoice verification
We would like to set up the Periodic Invoicing Plan scenario with Invoice Plan Settlement via MRIS . Can you please let me know the details of settings to be done for this

Hi Shyam,
Theres no extra customizing to invoicing plans. The steps are quite straight forward as follows:
enter transaction ME21N
enter vendor and material (quantity & amount etc)
ensure you enter an account assignment category
on the delivery tab select GR non-valuated
on the invoice tab deselect GR-Based IV
select the invoice plan button and select periodic plan
On the next screen enter a start date and an end date
The selection settlements should be automatically populated.
After you save the PO you should be able to enter the invoices through transaction MRIS
once the invoice is due in accordance to the selection settlement dated on the invoicing plan
screen.

If you are willing to spend money on professional tool with free support, if the team get's large, I would ask you to look at ConceptDraw Project. If you are dead set on open source and "free" software I would say that Redmine, Bugzilla or any other that has been around a while, and looking for plugins to make it suit your needs is one of your best bets.

How do I integrate SAP R/3 with an external system?

I've run into a problem integrating SAP R/3 with an external system. The external system provides a webservice, and when I try to get WSDL file from that service, I am getting asked of authorization and when I authorize, I get error 500. The access is anonymous, as I'm being told. When I try to get just a response, server requests authorization. No matter what login and password I supply, I always get error 401 saying I'm not authorized.
I think the ICF is somewhat misconfigured, but how do I configure it? Or maybe there's a problem with requests I send. I don't know.

Error regarding plan type in hyperion planning

Hi,
I have created a hyperion planning application with 2 plan types namely Plan1 and Plan2.
Initially i designed my every dimension members in Plan1 alone. Product dimension (User defined dimension) is alone in both the plan type.
Now if i go to the edit properties of all other dimensions except my user defined dimension i could not enable the Plan2 in the plan type.
Can anyone give me suggestions to enable the Plan2 for other dimensions.

Hi ,
You cannot modify in front end if you deployed your application already. You can enable if you have Workforce or Capex cube created in you application.
you cant do it for for the normal cube (Plan1, Plan2, Plan3).

Budget control is one part of Project System. Normally we have two types of Budgets one Budget for CAPEX and Budget for Over Head expnes. Max companies PS will take care by the Budgets. If u need any information let me know.
