Integrating Siebel and OBIA 7.9.6.3

Hi wizards,
I try to understand the steps required to set up the integration of OBIA 7.9.6.3 and Siebel.
The OBIA dashboards are embedded in Siebel via a Symbolic URL which passes the Siebel login credentials (UseSiebelLoginPassword, UseSiebelLoginId) to OBIA/OBIEE.
I have now a lack of understanding what I have to set up on the OBIEE 11g side. With OBI 10g I set up a USER session variable/session initialization block which was used to authenticate the user (thus the user did not have to type in its login credentials when accessing an OBI dashboard in Siebel).
With 11g and Weblogic (and assuming that I want to use LDAP/Active Directory authentication) is this still valid or does Weblogic require different steps?
The Oracle Fusion Middleware - Security Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise guide includes a chapter "Alternative Authentication Options".
Do I have to follow the steps explained in this chapter to make the integration via Symbolic URL work?
Thanks,
Jan

    Hi All,
    I really need help of you guys.
    The scene is, I need to automise soemthing like my exisiting appliation runs on AquaLogicDSP which interacts with Siebel and PeopleSoft DB.
    I need to automize one thing say,
    1. To send mail through AquaLogic [Preferrably using BEA Messaging API] else Java API.
    2. Getting connected to DB, fire some queries and again send out a mail.
    3. I need this everything to be done in existing aqualogicc code.
    Can you please lemme know how to proceed with this.
    I will be highly thankful to you.

  • Custom Build AIA PIP between Siebel and eBS

    Hi,
    I have a project where in I am integrating Siebel and eBS systems.There are different process flow integrations that I need to integrate between these 2 systems.I know there is O2C PIP for integrating between these systems.But due to some reasons my company doesnt want to pursue using O2C PIP for integrations.So I would like to know
    -> if there is any other PIP for this purpose OR
    ->If we can build a custom AIA PIP for this and what are the pros and cons of it and tasks we would need to do for successful integrations of different process flows? OR
    ->if there is any way in SOA suite that we can use to integrate between these systems for different process flows?I wanted to know how OracleASadapters (packaged based adapters) for Siebel can work in this case and pros and cons for using this adapters?
    ->if there is any other way,please let me know!
    Thanks,
    S

    Hi,
    I don't think we have any PIP other than O2C to integrate Siebel with Ebiz.
    It is the matter of evaluating to what extent the out of the box PIP answers the integration requirement. As per my understanding no PIP suits 100% for any given business integration, it has to be tweaked for sure. It should be the architect decision comparing the effort of scratch development vs using PIP.
    One has to understand the best practices for building AIA integration otherwise we end up making tightly coupled integration which make no sense of using AIA foundation pack. Read best practices of AIA development.
    The core advantage of using AIA foundation pack is that enables the central hub of integration between any systems leaving a room for integration of other business applications. You can also build simple composites to integrate without following AIA principles but it is as simple as making P2P integration.

  • Integrating obiee and siebel crm environments

    I want to change context in siebel screen by clicking on obiee dashboard that is embedded in a view in siebel . i understand that we can do this using action link but i am not getting the option for action link in column properties because their environments are not integrated so can anyone suggest me the steps that are needed to be done ???
    Any help is highly appreciable
    ps: siebel swse and obiee server are installed on same machine and siebel server and gateway are installed on a different machine

    Hope this helps....
    "Action Link" dropdown does not appear under Value Interactions in Column Format tab. This is because OBI and SWSE are not hosted on the same webserver.
    So you need to perform additional steps to configure a VIP that will in turn route the requests to the corresponding crm or analytics servers based on the request received. Please refer to the following posting which explains this requirement in more detail :
    Requirements for Web Server Setup in an Integrated Siebel Analytics Environment (Doc ID 477579.1)
    There are different products/routers available to setup VIP - this part should be setup by your network team.
    Once crm and analytics can be sucessfully accessed using same VIP, change the NQHOST value to VIP value.
    Please retest and now you should see "Action Link" dropdown in column format tab where you can set viewname and applet name.

  • Siebel 8.1.1.5 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1 Integration - Siebel server goes down

    Hi Gurus,
    I followed the steps as per the Siebel Reports Guide Rev. C and I can see the BIP Screens , views and the standard template. Also if I upload any custom template to in the siebel I can view those reports in BIP SiebelCRMReports folder.
    But my issue is if I click any any screens in Siebel and then the list applet or form applet and then if I click the "Reports Button" in the top menu then the Siebel server goes down or sometimes the application hangs up. I don't know exactly the error is on Siebel side or BIP side and one thing I didn't check is the Integration Objects in Siebel tools for the standard report templates.
    I'm on windows environment.
    Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Jing Jang
    if you click the report menu button, I guess Siebel checks which reports are associated with this particular view. If the while OM crashes at this point, it looks as if some of the repository changes in 8.1.1.5 were not successfully applied. Did you import the provided .sif file which came with the 8115 BIP ACR?

  • Siebel and Avaya IC 7.1 integration

    Hi guys. Do you have some document that explain step by step the integration with siebel 7.x and avaya ic 7.x ?? Tks a lot.

    CTI integration has its official documentation.
    To sum it up:
    General architecture "User oriented" /
    -An Application Object Manager (AOM) display a Communication toolbar (a Tools "customizable" java applet)
    -A user having a Communication profile will see this toolbar
    -Clicking on the toolbar will usually just send a CTI event to the CTI server
    -Sending an event means starting a short CommSessionMgr task
    -The CommSessionMgr is where the Avaya DLL/EXE got executed
    -It's able to RECEIVE CTI events from the server and dispatch those to the AOM
    Installing the Avaya drivers should be ok /
    Parameterization of the connection between SIEBEL and the CTI server stands at the Configuration /
    Customization of the CTI behaviour means Tools for the toolbar and the WebClient to manage (a .DEF file allows to delivers these configurations) how SIEBEL reacts to CTI events
    You need specific experts for:
    -CTI architecture (even alone it may hurts)
    -SIEBEL to CTI server driver's parameter sizing and validation (very rare...I am one ;-)
    -SIEBEL Configuration of the events (Oracle got some and some consulting or service companies as well)

  • Using OBA for 2 sources (Siebel and EBS)

    Hi,
    We have OBIA for EBS - Supply chain implemented (with some custom) and it's already on Production. Now we are implementing OBIA for Siebel.
    So, for the first time, we are planning run a FULL extract from Siebel. Then we noticed that both system uses some commom table (like W_PRODUCT_D). Unfortunally, we have on EBS all price list and products. On Siebel we have same information, replicated.
    If we run a FULL extract, we'll lose the data from EBS products, I guess. But if we run a Incremental extract, I think we will have duplicate products on W_PRODUCT_D. Is it correct?
    How is the best way to work it?
    Any help will be great!
    Regards,

    Hi Ohara,
    Regarding the RPD:
    I am not completely sure if you need to change the RPD..
    If you can guarantee that users will always report on a combination of dimensions with facts, there is no need to filter on datasource_num. This is because all facts loaded from Siebel will be related to dimension values loaded from Siebel and all facts loaded from eBS will be related to dimension values loaded from eBS. At least, this is how it is supposed to work, please allocate enough time to test this really good.
    However, 'just to be sure' you can create business model filters in the security groups in such a way that all 'Siebel-users' will only see the Siebel data and vice versa.
    Regarding the DAC:
    I think the most ideal way would be to combine all the to-be-loaded Subject Areas in one Execution Plan. This can be done if extraction from both eBS and Siebel can be performed in the same timeslot. This way, the staging tables will be populated from 1 or 2 sources, but the SILOS mappings will only have to be run once.
    Regarding the most interesting stuff (scenario 1 ;) ):
    You will require an unique identifier of a Product/other that is present in both source systems to be able to match them in the BAW. Please do not resort to literal comparissons on names etc. Once you have this identifier, you can modify the LKP operators in the fact mapplets and/or reusable LKP operators to use this identifier to retrieve the wid from the dimension, instead of the integration_id and datasource_num.
    Good luck!

    Marco

  • HOWTO: Create a Boot Configuration That Has No Driver Signature Checks. Disable Driver Integrity Checks and Install a Custom Non-Signed Driver

    Hello,
    Recently, I had a task where I needed to install a custom non-signed driver onto my Windows 8 64-bit setup. As it is known, Windows has driver enforcement policies that, as a security measure, do not allow you to install non-signed drivers.
    I did not want to alter my current boot configuration so I decided to create a separate boot entry that would have driver signing policies disabled. For some reason I did not find any good source that would contain a step-by-step instruction on completing
    this task, so I decided that I'd better share my experience here.
    Lastly, there are multiple ways how you could turn off driver enforcement policies, but I find the way to do this via boot manager.
    Here's how you can do that.
    1. Press WindowsKey and type 'cmd' (without quotes) to find Command prompt, then click Command prompt icon. If you have User Account Control turned on, hold Ctrl+Shift keys pressed when clicking the icon.
    This will force Windows to ask you for elevation of command prompt. Elevation is necessary for editing Boot Configuration Database (BCD), the database used by Windows boot manager to store boot settings.
    2. In the User Account Control window click Yes to confirm elevation of command shell.
    3. At the command prompt type
    bcdedit
    to list your BCD entries.
    This will give you an output like:
    Windows Boot Manager
    identifier {bootmgr}
    device partition=\Device\HarddiskVolume2
    path \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi

    The section that starts with Windows Boot Manager lists current settings for the boot menu. Here you find what boot entry is chosen by default, this is the one what you will boot into if you do not select any boot entry in the
    boot menu.
    The following record
    default {current}
    indicates that by default my Windows boots into configuration which I use at the moment (currently booted Windows configuration).
    To find out what exactly is current configuration, look into the list of boot entries, records that contain boot loader configuration and are titled as Windows Boot Loader in the bcdedit output.
    For example, the entry shown above is one of my boot configurations. This is one of the boot entries listed on the boot manager screen when I start my PC and it looks like:
    Windows Boot Loader
    identifier {a329b5d0-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    device vhd=[D:]\win8prowmc01.vhdx

    This record has a unique GUID identifier that can be used to reference this boot entry, which is:
    identifier {a329b5d0-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    If we look at the Windows Boot Manager settings, we'll see this entry is the first in order to be displayed in the boot menu on OS start (I marked the unique bits):
    displayorder {a329b5d0-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    {a329b5cc-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    It references my VHD drive, a virtual hard drive where my Windwos 8 setup is residing:
    device vhd=[D:]\win8prowmc01.vhdx
    And it also specifies that the boot manager must use UEFI BIOS extension code to access my Windows boot partition:
    path \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi
    3. Now locate the current boot entry.
    Current boot entry contains boot settings used to boot into Windows configuration to which you are currently booted. It is referenced in the list of boot entries as a Windows Boot Loader record that has the {current} keyword inside and may
    look like:
    Windows Boot Loader
    identifier {current}
    device vhd=[D:]\win8rtm.vhdx
    path \Windows\system32\winload.efi
    description Windows 8 Enterprise RTM
    locale en-US
    inherit {bootloadersettings}
    recoverysequence {a329b5c3-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}

    recoveryenabled Yes
    isolatedcontext Yes
    allowedinmemorysettings 0x15000075

    nx OptIn
    bootmenupolicy Standard
    hypervisorlaunchtype Auto
    Because we are more than happy with current configuration and want to base our new boot configuration on these settings, we need to copy this boot entry ({current}) to a new boot entry.
    This is done by running the following command:
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit /copy {current} /d "No Driver Signature Check"
    Parameter /d here indicates that the following sequence of characters specifies the display name for the new boot entry that we are creating. The name inside the double quotes will be displayed in the boot menu when you boot your Windows.
    In other words, if you know restart your system, you'll see the new No Driver Signature Check in the boot menu.
    When copied, the entry is automatically given a new GUID identifier, so upon running the command above, you'll see the following line returned (you'll have an other GUID since these are unique identifiers):
    The entry was successfully copied to {a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}.
    4. Make sure the entry has been successfully created.
    Run the same bcdedit. (You may specify /enum or /v, or both /enum /v parameters at the prompt to get more detail about boot entries, but simple bcdedit is just enough to see the new entry):
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit

    The entry has been created and given a unique a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240 ID. It now has exactly same boot settings as the boot entry we used to boot into current configuration of Windows.
    5. Modify created  No Driver Signature Check entry and specify that Windows must have driver integrity checks disabled when booted using this boot entry.
    Any modifications to boot entries are made using /set parameter. To indicate that we modify a specific boot entry, we must specify the GUID for the No Driver Signature Check record, which is:
    identifier {a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    In other words, to edit (add or change) an option for the boot entry, we need to use the following command syntax:
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit /set GUID <boot_option> [<option_value>]
    First, we must specify that we don't want integrity checks be made. This is done by adding the loadoptions option and setting it to DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS value:
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit /set {a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240} loadopti
    ons DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    The operation completed successfully.
    6. Verify that load option has been added.
    Run the bcdedit command:
    Windows Boot Loader
    identifier {current}
    device vhd=[D:]\win8rtm.vhdx
    path \Windows\system32\winload.efi
    description Windows 8 Enterprise RTM
    locale en-US
    inherit {bootloadersettings}

    device vhd=[D:]\win8rtm.vhdx
    path \Windows\system32\winload.efi

    inherit {bootloadersettings}

    7. Add the option that turns on test signing mode and disables checks of driver signature.
    Adding the testsigning option and setting it to ON does the trick for us:
    C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit /set {a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240} TESTSIGNING ON
    8. Now we have a boot entry that enables Windows not to do integrity checks and digital signature validation.
    We check it by running bcdedit:
    Windows Boot Loader
    identifier {a329b5d8-fb29-11e1-a74d-f2c962d62240}
    device vhd=[D:]\win8rtm.vhdx

    locale en-US
    loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

    9. Type 'exit' without quotes to exit from command prompt, and restart Windows.
    Upon booting you will be present with a new boot option to start Windows in configuration that allows you to install custom non-signed drivers.
    Hope this will help anybody to create their own custom boot configurations.

    I had to uninstall SharePoint Foundation 2013 and reinstall it.
    What I have done:
    I uninstalled SharePoint and after that I removed all databases.
    I reinstalled SharePoint Foundation 2013 and it completed without errors.
    Everything else is working, except SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode.
    If I check Central Administration - Manage services on server, I can found out that SQL Server Reporting Service Service is
    "Started". But if I try to create new service application (SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application), it gives me an error message:
    "Key not valid for use in specified state. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009000B)"
    I uninstalled SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode and I reinstalled it but problems exists.
    It seems that "Encryption Keys" cause this problem.
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/955757
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156010%28v=sql.110%29.aspx
    I tried to Re-create Encryption Keys and Delete keys, but its not working either. It gives me only error message that:
    "Unable to locate the Reporting Server Windows service for instance MSSQLSERVER."
    I don't have any reporting server databases, because I removed all
    databases when I uninstalled SharePoint. Also I don't have Encryption
    Keys backups.
    I have found several similar question but no answer, example here:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/df02dc05-5ce8-499d-9ba3-ab392a5fc3af/sharepoint-2013-ssrs-application-error-key-not-valid-for-use-in-specified-state-exception?forum=sharepointdevelopment
    Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

    Hi,
    From the Reporting Server Configuration Manager you have to restore the encryption key.
    Please try to delete databases(reportserver & reportservertempdb) and delete the reportserver and reports site on IIS. Then you have to start over the configuration again.
    If the issue still exists, Please check ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log locates in
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS"

    I'm new to SQL Server Integration Services and I need help on how to begin learning SSIS. Is there any training for it besides msdn?

    Check this thread where people have already given their suggestion on learning SSIS
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/f2cc1cf3-204d-454a-a189-47df87a3aa23/i-want-to-learn-ssis?forum=sqlintegrationservices
    I would suggest to go for You tube videos (type learn SSIS or begin SSIS step by step) you will get lot of good tutorials to start with.
    Happy Learning!!

    Apple does make these, but they are not sold everywhere.  Where are you located?
    Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store, so to find out whether you can buy a particular product you will need to contact stores directly yourself.  In the US you can sometimes get unusual keyboards by talking to an apple retail store and asking for a special order.

    While accessing Integration Repository and Directory, I am getting the error "No Authorization for this action". I am trying to login with user J2EE_ADMIN, have following roles :
    SAP_J2EE_ADMIN
    SAP_J2EE_ADMIN

    hi,
    go to http://<host>:<port>/index.html -->User Management log in using j2ee_admin
    When you go into one of the tabs, there will a client entry . Just change.
    You should able to do the same thing with UME provider service in the visual admin.
    Please check Note 938980 if you are using VPN.
    This is probably a Java Web-Start issue. Please check logon with other JWS versions. Also check if you have any conflicting JWS versions installed.
    This is a checklist for logon errors:
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/02/13/unable-to-open-iresrid-xipipi-71-updated-for-pi-71-support
    Also check the methods in these threads:
    Authorization error; unknown user name or incorrect password
    Authorization error in Integration Repository.
    Note: reward points if solution found helpfull

    fault message type

    Hi Spring,
    If u give an exception step along with your Transformation Step, whenever some error occurs in your message mapping, this exception block wil be triggered.
    You can configure your exception block to do all exception processing that you want. This exception handling is like any other java Exceptio n Handler. You can do anything that you want in your exception handler block on the basis of your requirements.
    <i>If an exception is triggered at runtime, the system first searches for the relevant exception handler in surrounding blocks. If it does not find the correct exception handler, it continues the search in the next block in the block hierarchy.
    When the system finds the correct system handler, it stops all active steps in the block in which the exception handler is defined and then continues processing in the exception handler branch. Once the exception handler has finished processing, the process is continued after the block.
    If the system fails to find an exception handler, it terminates the integration process with an error.</i>

  • Difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process

    Hi Experts,
    What is the difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process available in PI7.1?
    SAP says that Monitoring process is a special kind of integration process that receives the event messages.
    My doubt is even integration process can receive the event messages.
    Why these two different type of entities are created for the same purpose?
    And what is the technical difference between the two in terms of PI perspective?
    Regards,
    Sami.

    My question is now answered.
    [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70a25d3a-e4fa-2a10-43b5-b4169ba3eb17]
    On page 17 of this pdf following sentence is mentioned :-
    From technical perspective, there is no difference between monitoring process and integration process.
    Though logically those are two deifferent things.
    Monitoring porcesses are used to receive only event messages that is comprises of event data only.
    Like Purchase order creation is a event and its event message will have the event data like Order Id, Created on, Created by, Quantity etc., instead of whole purchase order.
    Where as Integration Process is a way to provide solution in some specific circummtances like where we have to automate our process or where we need something in between for the course of communication.
    Guys thanks for your precious time.
    Regards,
    Sami.
