Integration between Oracle BPM and RTD(rule engine)

Hi,
I have Oracle BPM - 10.3.2.0.0 Build 100141
Oracle RTD(rules engine) - 3.0.0.1
Please let me know whether the versions of RTD and Oracle BPM mentioned above can be integrated with each other.
How the interaction between Oracle BPM enterprise and RTD will take place and how the data flow takes place between them.

I have a requirement how to integarte between Oracle BPM and Oracle UCM.
Detailsabout the problem:
Once user start the process and want to upload the document in the same process, the document should be uploaded into UCM and similarly user wants to update some document in the middle of the process , user can check-out the document and check-in the document (Docuemnt present on Oracle UCM).
Please guide me what is the approach for that ?

Integration between Oracle BPM 10.3 and UCM 11g

I need to use UCM to manage documents created during a BPM workflow. Instead of attaching these files to the BPM process instance i must put them into the content repository, organizing the folder structure.
So all i need to use is: Search, GetInfo, and CheckIn functionality.
I was trying importing RIDC jars into BPM but it was a very bad idea because of many errors at the introspection time.
So I read there was a Oracle Content Integration EJB, but didn't fount id anywhere...
The last solution I'm afraid I ought use are Web Services, or a second EJB layer that I should create myself, between BPM and UCM servers.
Since I hope could use WS, is there such guide to use it, some samples using services?

11g relies upon SOA suite components for much of the underlying infrastructure.
Interactive activities are no longer modeled using the simple JSF based ALBPM style screen flows and UI editor. In 11g the human workflow engine is used for this purpose - it handles user routing, notifications, data associations, etc. The actual implementation is done in ADF using task flows. This gives you more flexibility, with the caveat of a bit more complexity.
11g is a "codeless" environment. ALBPM style Automatic activities and PBL code are a thing of the past. Business logic is now performed either using Business Rules, or by calling Web Services. There are also adapters for accessing the database, FTP, and reading/writing files on the filesystem. Data flows through the process in the form of XML, some of which is abstracted away from the developer in the form of Business Objects in the catalog. However, knowing XML and XML related technologies is now much more important (XSD, XPath, XSL, etc.)
The Eclipse style IDE is no longer used for design time. JDeveloper is the new IDE. You can also use BPM composer for some online (it's a web based app) project design and publishing.
The Process Administrator app is now gone - that functionality is replaced by fusion middleware control (Enterprise Manager) and the workspace itself.

Differences between Oracle BPM and Aqualogic BPM 6.0

Hello,
Does anyone know where I can find information that spells out the differences between Aqualogic 6.0 and Oracle BPM (if there are any)? I've searched the Oracle sites, documentation sections, etc. and I cannot find a datasheet that spells out anything related to the differences between the two aside from the name change.

I thought that there no major differences between the versions, only changes in the skin, logo and an improvement in the engine, but I was wrong.
My production enviroment runs BPM Enterprise in version 6, in other words runs Aqualogic BPM Enterprise, not Oracle BPM Enterprise, but in the development enviroment I made the decision to use the version 10 (Oracle BPM Studio 10g), because I thought there were no considerable changes between versions.
So I could not make the deployment of the project in the enterprise version, the log reported that many processes and screenflows of the project were not found, then I tried to open the project that was done in version 10 in version 6 of the BPM Studio and then try to export the ".exp" to try to do the deployment again. When I opened the project in BPM Studio 6 some errors occurred, but no significant errors. I fixed the errors, export the project again and try to do the deployment in the enterprise version and the same problems as before still occurring.
The only solution I found was to make the project in BPM Studio 6.04 (Aqualogic). Now I can make the deployment of the project in the production environment.
Conclusion: always use the same version in BPM studio/enterprise. If you use Oracle BPM Studio in development enviroment, use Oracle BPM Enterprise for production enviroment. The same way if you use Aqualogic BPM Studio in development enviroment, use Aqualogic BPM Enterprise in the production enviroment.

Differnece between Oracle BPM and Aqua Logic BPM

Iam just started readign about Oracle BPM , could anyone answer is there nay difference beteen Orcale BPM and Aqualogic BPM. I am working on other BPM technology ,I am analyzing other BPM tools to get the key differentiators among them. Please brief me the features that are unique to Oracle BPM.It would be helpful if good KB link is provided.

Good question. I'll try to recap a little history of Fuego, AquaLogic and Oracle BPM for you. I worked for Fuego just before it was acquired and rebranded as part of the BEA AquaLogic Suite. I'd like to see what other have to say on this topic as well.
From what I recall, BEA bought Fuego and released version 6.0. This was the first version branded as AquaLogic. The major change it contained was the integration of studio into the Eclipse IDE. It was somewhat integrated with ALUI, which used to be Plumtree before it was bought out by BEA and re-branded AquaLogic. I say somewhat since it wasn't integrated as well as it could. One major issue was the way the directory was integrated. They used a synchronization utility called ITPS (I think) to sync the ALUI directory with BPMs directory. This was very problematic.
Version 6.3 came out that improved the way the workspace integrated with portals and ALUI and integrated the directory more efficiently with ALUI. Mostly it contained many improvements in the workspace functionality. The workspace had configurable panels which made it easier to integrate with dashboard components and widgets.
Version 6.5 was coming out around the same time that Oracle took control of BEA. Version 6.5 is very much the same as OBPM 10g. For more information about OBPM 10g refer to this article:

In a couple of months Oracle will be releasing BPM 11g. There will be many changes to BPM in this release. It will be integrated with JDeveloper and will inherit much of the SOA strategies known for Oracle's Fushion Middleware suite. It also contains a Process Composer web based UI that Business Analysts and Business stakeholders will find useful.

How to do integration between Oracle 11g and SAP Data services

HI All,
i want to load data from Oracle 11g data base to some other data bases. we have installed oracle 11g server in one machine and Data services server in one machine.we installed oracle 11g client in data services server machine . i created data store for oracle and when i was executing job i got the following error.
how to resolve this issue. do i need to do any configuration between two servers (Oracle 11g and data services), and do i need create ODBC for oracle in data services machine.
if any one know the solution please help me out ASAP.

As of today you should install SOA Suite 11g
Fr this you will need to install Database (for development you can use XE)
Run RCU utility to crete DB schemas for SOA Suite.
Install Weblogic server
Install SOA Suite as an option to Weblogic
Create SOA Domain.
It is physically possible to do it in 2GB but is far better on 3 - 4GB
You can consider installing DB on different machine.

Oracle BPM and Oracle SOA Suite

Hi,
Can anyone point me to a reference which details the differences between the BPM and SOA Suites and how they are different.
As well as why BPM is needed while most of the features are available with SOA Suite itself.
Is the runtime env for BPM and SOA suite same?I mean does BPM run over the SOA Suite installation.

Data exchange between Oracle DB and JD Edwards

Hi all,
We have an Oracle 10g EE database which we maintain. The financial system is using JD Edwards. We need to provide them some daily information(payments) Also they need to send us some data( payment reconciliation). My questions are:
1. What kind of interaction is posible between Oracle db and JD Edwards?
2. What database does JD Edwards internally use? Is in an Oracle db?
3. Is there an ODBC driver available for interaction?
4. Does JD Edwards handle credit card payments?
Please, can you give me an answer quick, we need it by the end of today for a proposal..

#2 All the JD Edwards installations I have ever come across were on AS400 (iSeries I believe is the new name) â¦their niche on the application software market was the fact that they were running so well integrated with that particular platform. AS400 comes bundled with [one of the many flavors of] DB2 â¦ that is, no extra license required. Oracle has never had an AS400 port â¦ so I doubt youâll find Oracle underneath your JD Edwards installation.
#1 âsome daily payment informationâ suggests batch type integration and relatively small in scope â¦ all systems/applications have some sort of data loader and there are always ways to get data out into files â¦ so a custom, file-based little integration mechanism could be all that you need. I did work once in such a little project â¦ the JD Edwards specialists in the company did their part of loading and loading on their side â¦ we did the same on the Oracle side â¦ we agreed on file formats, content, schedules, a common/secure drop zone in the network etc. and that was pretty much it. The point is, there must be some JD Edwards people in your company you should get involved in the discussion/proposal.
#3 An ODBC driver for DB2 on AS400 very likely exists â¦ keep in mind though that this means the integration will be at a low level (table level) â¦ many applications expose integration points at the API level (application level). Again, you have to get the JD Edwards people on board.
My last points â¦ if you have Oracle in house then call your Oracle representative â¦ Oracle owns JD Edwards â¦ you may get better answers or re-directs there. Also look if your company has any middleware software already â¦ contact the vendor and see what they have to say

Yes, we have experience with the product Oracle9iAS InterConnect. Adapters are provided to integrate with iProcurement and legacy systems. If your legacy system is non-standard either partners might already have adapters or you can use the adapter development kit to build your own specialized adapter. Setup between Oracle streams and MQ

I m trying to create the setup between oracle streams and Messing Queue(MQ).i have already install MQClient on my machine and messing gateways is also working fine,but accoring to setup docs i have created one user having all the granst they provide in docs and created queuetable,queue,dml handler,tables rules and starting queue after that we have done Capture and Apply process on that user, in other word u have say the entire setup but our data is not propagating that messaage to MQ.
So if anyone has specific setup code then pl provide or any suggestion u want can give.

Diference Between Oracle ProcessConnect and Oracle Interconnect

Does anyone knows the difference between Oracle ProcessConnect and Oracle Interconnect?
I have already read the documentation, but I didn�t understand the main difference between them�.
If somebody have experienced one of them, please tell me your opinion about these integration tools because I�m studying the possibility to user one of them in a data integration among several Oracle Databases in my company.

I have a problem using the select query between oracle 7 and oracle 9i I don't have the same result :
ex:
With oracle7
SQL> select 'champ1','champ2' from DUAL;
'CHAMP 'CHAMP
champ1 champ2
With Oracle 9
SQL> select 'champ1','champ2' from DUAL;
'CHAMP1' 'CHAMP2'
champ1 champ2
So Can someone tell me how to solve this problem ? Is there a parameter in oracle 9 to set?

Whenever you are posting anything over internet forums like this - you should be very careful about not just posting the details which requires to solve the problem - also should be sensible about your question.
This is not at all desired when you are posting such question. It may be because - you may not well aware of the fact.
My suggestion is -> First Go through the basics Of SQL in general.
Then go for any specific product like Oracle/ SQL Server/ Sybase etc.
And, finally learn the advanced commands of that DB.
You asked it - may be you thought the difference in output in terms of lines. But, that is not your actual output. That is the graphical display part only.
