Integration Kit for BOE XI 3.1 - unsupported.aix.release

We have installed BOE XI 3.1 SP2. Now we are insalling BOE SAP Integration kit (for XI 3.1)
The OS Version is AIX 6.1
The system is throwing following error during installation of integration kit
<.........>/patches/patchlevel.sh: invalid patch name: unsupported.aix.release
AIX: Your system is missing required components (STU00120):
<.........>/setup/patches/patchlevel.sh: invalid patch name: unsupported.aix.release
If you continue your installation may not work correctly. (STU00109)
Can you please let me know if Integration Kit 3.1 is not supported for AIX 6.1 OR
Is it recommended to use another version of Integration Kit for AIX 6.1 ?

I did comment on "oscheck.$distrOS.sh" from install.sh and could finish the integration kit installation successfully (with BOE XI 3.1 SP2 aleady installed)
Is it ok to keep this installation ? Will SAP be able to support this in future if required?

no "integration kit" in version 4 - its all nicely embedded into the core product.
you are correct - webi can direct connect (using BICS) and also can source from an Analysis View (which is an output of either Analysis Services OLAP edition or the Microsoft edition (excel plugin). you also get a new universe layer (.UNX) which gives you a much better view of your underlying BEx queries/Cubes and allows you to combine with aother data sources.

We are trying to set up Bobj environment with SAP BOE 4.0 and integrate it with SAP BW . For doing that we need to install Integration Kit for SAP. Could anyone please let me know what is the latest version of the integration kit that can be used along with the installation of SAP BOE XI 4.0

I can confirm that in SAP BusinessObjects 4.0 the Integration Kit is integrated in the main product and that there is no separate install for it.
I believe you should be able to access the manuals for SAP BusinessObjects 4.0 on service.sap.com.

SAP Integration kit for BO XIR2 with Crystal XI for BI 7.0 Front end

Hello Team,
We are in a little fix.
We have BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and working with old version of BI front-end 3.5.
We are upgrading to BI 7.0 frontend, but I am not able to trace out the SAP Integration kit for combination of BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and BI7.0.
Is such a thing available, If yes can someone send a link to that.

I could trace this document. "BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 SP3 for Windows"
I checked in "Supported Data Sources for Crystal Rep" section, extract below
SAP BW Server 3.0b SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.1c SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.5 SAP GUI 640.
But we are using BW Server 7.0 with GUI 7.1 and that working fine even with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with Old Front End for BI 3.X.
But when we are testing with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with BI New Front End 7.0 its missing components from the query output.
So the SAP Integration kIt seems old & we need a new Kit which would work with BI New Front End 7.0.
Any suggestions on that

What do I need to install the Integration Kit for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007? It gives me an SP3 needed error but does not tell me what SP3. Has any one sucessfully installed this kit? Please help.

Hi,
The sharepoint PIK is available for BO enterprise only. SP3 is refering to BO enterprise XIR2 SP3. This Service Pack is not available for CR 2008. In order to integrate CR 2008 in BO enterprise XIR3 you need to install SP0 on top of CR 2008. But as I said above without BO enterprise you won't be able to use the PIK.
I copied the following system requirements from our Install Guide for BOE XiR3 PIK:
System requirements
For a list of system requirements, consult the Platforms.txt file included
with your product distribution. For additional important information that may
pertain to your deployment, it is also strongly recommended that you consult
the Release Notes included with your product distribution.
In general, the following components must be installed and configured
correctly before you install the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 Portal
Integration Kit:
u2022 Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services or Office SharePoint Portal
Server 2003.
u2022 BusinessObjects Enterprise XI .NET SDK (on your SharePoint machine
or machines).
u2022 Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (any edition).
u2022 BusinessObjects Enterprise and Crystal Reports (on either the same
machine and/or on a different machine).

Install-error "BO Integration KIT -for SAP " STW00152

Hi,
In that installation "BO Integration KIT - for SAP" in the phase "CMS-connecting to CMS" I get a errormessage
"Connect to CMS is not possible. STW00152"
(Befor them, I installed "BO Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3" successfully)
I check the central configuration manager and I see BOE120Tomcat and Server Intelligence Agent was in the status "uncompletedly" and WWW Publishing Service was in status "it is explained". I started boht but I got a errormessage "The system cannot find the path specified"
I open the qualities for the "Server Intelligence Agent" and klick OK - I got a errormessage "the startparameter can't opposed. Error 87. The parameter is incorrect"

Hi,
it looks like that even your BOE installation isnt working properly.
Try to reboot the Server and check if your BOE Server starts. After it starts successfull try to install the SAP ITK.
If it doesnt start, i would recommend you re- install BOE first.

on Client workstation,
BOE XI3.x SP3 Client Tools
Crystal Reports 2008 SP3
LiveOffice SP3 (you might as well install LiveOffice before SAP KIT, although its not mandatory)

Publishing Reports with BO Integration Kit for SAP

I have the BO Integration Kit for SAP installed locally and have been able to publish the reports to the Enterprise Server. I'm also able to Open Reports from the SAP tab. However, I've created a lot of "test" reports which I no longer want to see in the list of reports. I've removed the reports from BO CMC but the Open Reports tab (SAP) still displays the ones I've removed from CMC. Where is this list stored? Are the report definitions stored within SAP? I've heard that the report definition is stored in SAP and the physical report is saved to the BO Enterprise Server. But no one within our SAP team has any idea and claim these are stored on the BO server.
(Someone tell me I'm not the only one in the universe trying to use Crystal Reports with SAP)

You can use the "Crystal Content Admin workbench" (transaction /crystal/rptadmin) and delete the reports from SAP BW and BOE ins a single step
its part of the Transports of the SAP Integration Kit. You need to import the transports into the BW System

Integration Kit for SAP - Open SQL access to tables. List incomplete.

After we install the BO integration kit for SAP and CR 2008 we were able to connect to SAP and open SAP Data Dictionnary tables (Open SQL access).
I have a problem however:
when I display the list of available tables, the is not showing all the tables in the SAP system. I believe it stops at some point.
I see all tables with low letters or starting with /BIC...
I have custom tables with names ranging from ZR1 to ZR5.
Of these I only see tables up to ZR2*.
My guess is :
either that the table list displayed is limited to a certain mumber of tables
or that there are some authorisations issues to be solved to view all tables (but the same SAP User sees all tables in SE11)
or there is a table related setting in the Data dictionnary that makes some tables visible by CR and other not

correct - it stops at one point because showing you more than 30.000 tables doesn't really help. Right click on your connection (server entry), select the menu options, there is an entry called Table name like. in your case enter Z% and hit F5 for a refresh and you will only get tables shown starting with Z

After selecting the option Yes, automatically deploy the web application(Step 20), i get one screen for Configuring web application Server. It is asking Sever instance and Service Name.
What is Server Instance and Service Name? Can you tell any example for Sever instance and Service Name ?

Hi Hemalatha,
You wouldn't necessarily need the Web application to be installed on the client machine, and unless you want the user to access your Business Objects environment using SAP security, you wouldn't necessarily need the Web Application that comes with the SAP Integration Kit.
I agree that the documentation is not great in explaining what you would need if you want to do what you describe.
Are you looking to have connected Xcelsius models which use QAaWS over a Universe which is built over SAP BI content (Cube/Query)
If so, you may find that you only need the data connectivity components of the SAP integration kit.
Can you further explain what you are trying to do....I may be able to add more assistance.
