Integration of Cisco Fax Server with CUCM

Need some help with regards to the setup of Cisco Fax Server. I have Cisco Fax Server 9.4 Enterprise Suite which will be installed on Cisco 7816 server. Now my concern is with the integration of Fax server with CUCM. I have CUCM Ver 7. Could anyone tell me what configuration is required on CUCM and I believe we need to have dial-peer on the Voice gateway as well pointing to the Fax server. If anyone has deployed then please let me know the configuration on CUCM & the voice gateway.

Hi..
Thank u so much guys. I was mostly looking out for the integration of Fax server with CUCM, so i think this document should help. I has this document with me but had few doubts. Hopefully it should be cleared now. I will be doing the implementation later next week so i will keep you updated. Anyway thank u so much once again.

  • Configuring utilies on the Cisco Fax Server 9.4

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure the cisco fax server 9.4, but I can't find any documentacion that explain how to configure, exntesions, dialing rules etc. Somebody knows where can I find the documentation?
    Regards,

    Hi Marco,
Now I can navigate at the CFS.
Sorry my question got a little confusing. Now they are working.
Yesdarday I did the re-installation of the Windows 2003 Server and CFS.
Today I went to activite the license of Broothrout (SR140-4-R3), at the end of the activation show me the message that the license is invalid.
Do you know if the problem with the license , because a uninstall the CFS and after I install again, once that I already actived the license ?
More one question. Do you have some documentation that explain how to configure CFS. How to configure user's and extension inside of CFS ?
I open the TAC and I sent the e-mail for license to try solve that problem with the invalid license.

  • Cisco Fax Server

I have a new install running Cisco Fax Server (Captaris 9.0) and I'm having the issue enabling the OCR converter. Fax Server is up, receiving faxes and sending to exchange if OCR is disabled on the user's mailbox. If I enable the OCR option on the user's Default Receive Settings then the faxes just sit in the OCR queue and never get serviced. Here are the steps I've done.
    * Enabled the OCR service on the Workserver
    * Validated my licensed features have the OCR converter option (assuming it does cause it's listed in licensed features)
    * Given my user OCR permissions
    * Configured automatic OCR conversion on the user's fax/mailbox.
These are all the steps referenced in the docs.

Anyone know if the Event Viewer is the only logging for this application. Turned up both system and database logging to verbose and still no luck.
    Thanks
    Fred

The problem was fixed by deleting the Workserver and re-adding it. All the configuration was correct but the work server was just not functioning correctly.
Debugging can be turned on by issuing this command when the workserver service is stopped.
    worksrv d -1 -sworksvr1 > debug.txt
(worksvr# is the number of your workserver)
    Thanks

  • Make your own Fax Server with Automator! (Pagesender solution for Mavericks)

I have been scouring these discussion boards for some time now looking for a suitable substitute to PageSender, an awesome fax solution for the Mac from SmileOnMyMac LLC, which for some inexplicable reason stopped development and updates after OS 10.6.8. The result is that many small business office users who still rely on fax (and yes...no matter what they tell you, most of the business world DOES still use fax because it's legally binding and more secure than email for the transmission of legal documents or healthcare records, and does not rely on database integration accross different systems, which is sadly but very realistically still a long ways off), and no longer have a way to integrate faxes into a paperless or digital workflow office system.
I suspect like many folks who receive faxes, those who used PageSender, used a very powerful feature to forward faxes by email, thereby turning your Mac into a Fax server that could distribute your faxes to other workstations and staff throughout the business via email. Presumably, if you have your own email server (Exchange, Kerio, AppleMail server, PostFix enabler etc.) you could distribute faxes on your own internal network, securely behind a firewall, and effectively create a digitial/paperless workflow for your faxes.
Even if you have a USB modem or multifunction printer that allows you to recieve a Fax to your desktop (Apple's internal fax via printer preferences, and some HP models like the HP MFP 127fw) for example will allow you to recieve a Fax to a desktop folder or forward to a single email address. But the former is of limited functionaliy and the later only lets you send to an email address out over the internet with a registered public domain, which means you give up all control of privacy and means you can't process it through a private mail server to create a digital workflow for your office...
    ...Until now!!!
I am happy to report that I have finally discovered a very easy and useable feature that will save a lot of time, money, and headaches for those looking to create a digital workflow and fax server system for a small office system. (I don't think there is any limit to scale here, but I suspect offices with more than 10 employees probably have a BizHub, or HP MFP/digital sender that can create the same process directly from the printer, but of course these come with a price tag of $2000 and up...).
To accomplish this however, you will need some basic requirements which are as follows:
    1) A USB modem from either US Robotics or Zoom Modem. These are readily available from Amazon, MacMall or any number of other online vendors and work very well and seemlessly with all Macs running OSX right up through Mavericks
    OR
A Multifunction printer that is capable of receiving faxes to a desktop Mac like the HP 127 fw. Other models exist from other manufacturers as well, but you will have to do a bit of research and probably check with the vendor or user manual directly to confirm that Fax to desktop is supported for Mac and OS 10.9.
    2) A dedicated Mail Server (MSFT Exchange, Kerio, MacOSX server with mail server enabled, or PostFix enalber or MailServe from Cutedge Systems)
You will need to set up an email account on your server that is the parent for all incoming faxes from which the faxes will be sent out as part of your digital workflow. This is beyond the scope of this discussion but if you've come this far and you're still reading, you probably know  how to do this already. I recommend setting this up as a POP account, not IMAP. This way, the attatchments (your faxes) will always remain on your server as a back up, until you delete them from the server.
    3) Now simply go to System preferences and select "Printers and Scanners". Select either the Fax printer for your multifunction printer, or add a fax printer/reviever using the + button and select "Fax" if you are using a USB modem. You must have the USB modem attatched to the computer in order to use the built-in Apple Fax feature for the latter option.
    4) Now click on the receive options. Select "Recieve faxes to this computer" and set your ring answer settings. Check "Save to" and select the designated folder (either Faxes or Shared Faxes on your computer) or create a new folder. Depending on the volume of faxes, and your back up systems, you may want to designate a separate folder on a separate drive, exclusively for your Faxes. This is where all your faxes will be stored.
    5) Now launch "Automator" in your applications folder and create a new workflow. You will be presented with several options. Select "Folder Action".
    6) At the top right of the window space you will see "Folder Action receives files and folders added to" . Select the Fax folder you created in step 4.
7)On the left hand side of the "Actions" menu select "Mail"
    8) From the list of actions select "New Mail Message" this will take the latest Fax added to your Fax folder and attach it as a PDF to a new outgoing mail. In the "TO" address put the email address that belongs to the parent account your created for the Faxes on your mail server eg. [email protected].  In the subject field you can put "Fax Workflow" or any other generic subject that will identify to all reciptients that this is an email that contains a Fax/PDF attatchment.
Under "account" use the SMTP account you set up on your mail server to handle the routing of internal emails. In most cases, this will be the same as the parent account created above. (Effectively, this account is sending and receiving emails to itself).
    9) From the list of actions, select "Send outgoing messages".
    10) Save the Automator workflow with a name like "FaxDistribution" or "FaxFlow".
    11) Go back to the Fax folder you created in step 4. Right click or option click on the folder and scroll down the options menu and select "Folder Actions Setup". You will see a list of scripts including the Automator workflow you just created. Choose it.
That's it!! From now on, when you get a fax, it will get dumped into the designated fax folder, and this will automatically trigger the workflow to atttach and send it as an email to anyone in your office that is set up to receive emails with the "faxserver" address. You now have a paperless fax digital workflow server system for distributing your faxes digitally to anyone in your office who needs to review your faxes. Good luck!

Thank you for this interesting posting.

  • Cisco Fax Server 9.4 - Available Space for Fax DB per SQL

We have two Cisco Fax Servers 9.4, using an SQL cluster. On the RightFax Enterprise Fax Manager, we have "Available Space for Fax DB per SQL" with only 4%, even though we have 200GB free on the SQL cluster.
    Any ideas?
I think this is keeping all outbound faxes on the "Waiting for Phone Expansion" state...

    Hi Sir,
My fax server has the SAME status. Is it normal? What is the condition of your FAX server? Are the FAX servers running smooth even it indicate the space for DB per SQL have 4%?

  • Integrating Sun Java Directory Server with Sun Java Application Server 7

    Hi,
My basic goal is to implement Single Sign On within the network i,e if the user is inside the company's network and tries to access any application, then he should not be required for Username/password again becuase he is in the network.
My question is Is this possible with Sun Java System DIrectory server. If yes how can we integrate Directory Server with Sun Java System Application Server 7 2004Q2.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Directory Server in itself doesn't provide any kind of SSO functions. Basically it is a high performing data repository accessible via LDAP and DSML. It is, however, a key component used by SSO applications like Access Manager. If your applications are web applications then take a look at Access Manager for your SSO needs.

  • Second fax server with SAP-connect

    Hello,
I'm able to send faxes from my SAP-server to the SMTP host. This host
send the faxes to the receiver.
Now we have two purchase companies in our client who want to send faxes
to their suppliers. In our company we use two fax-servers for each
company and the users of this company could only send faxes by their own fax server. But from out SAP Iu2019m only able to create one SMTP connection
to a fax-server. Is it possible to create a second SMTP fax server in the

  • Cisco Terminal Server with Meditech lab analyzers

We are having trouble configuring a Cisco 2610XM router (with an NM-16A) for use with various Lab blood gas analyzers that send data via rs-232 to our Meditech C/S health information system. We were hoping to replace our existing Annex and 3Com term servers with the more familiar Cisco term servers but we cannot get it to work quite right.
We do have the Lab analyzer sending date to Meditech, but in the data stream there is a null character (ASCII 0) following the CR character (ASCII 13) when we are expecting ONLY the CR.
Any ideas on what we can do to fix this?

  • Integration of Web Logic Server with OAM 11g

    Hi all

    <principal-name>Administrators</principal-name>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </security-role-assignment>
When i try to acces my application http://<weblogic host>:<port>/<sample application>/<sample welcome.jsp> with the user credentials present in the AD group (Administrators).,i'm getting the Basic pop-up but getting an Error-403 forbidden.
I'm able to access the application if i create a user named Administrator but not with the Users under Administrators group.
can anyone please help me and tell me whether it a valid behaviour or not?

  • On demand call recording on QM server with CUCM

    Hi ,
I have a customer who wants to enable on-demand call recording on QM server .
Is there a plugin that needs to be installed on Cisco side to make it happen .
    QM Server 9.0.1.57
    Calabrio Call Recording: 8.8.1.57
    Calabrio Quality Management: 8.8.1.57
    Call Manager 9.1.1
    UCCX 9.0.2
or any infomation regarding that would be helpful
    Thank you

This is something I have not done before, but I recall seeing the feature for IP Phones.  It was an IP Phone Service which showed a menu for starting and stopping recordings for workers without a PC.
On the QM 9.0 Data sheet, the feature is mentioned in the following bullet point:
    - The ability to control recording for manual start,  pause, and add metadata through Cisco Agent Desktop or Calabrio recording control browser or IP phone applications
    Source: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/custcosw/ps5693/ps8293/data_sheet_c78-710576.html#wp9000180
I'm looking for the documentation to configure this feature.  Unfortunately, Calabrio has their own documentation and support site @ portal.calabrio.com which only Cisco partners can access (something I am not).  The answer may reside there.  I'll post back if I find the IP Phone Service URL to use.

  • Configuring Cisco TFTP Server for CUCM

    Hi,
I currently have a Publisher and two Subscriber (v 6.1.3), I have now gone over the magical 1250 devices where Cisco recommend a standalone TFTP server.
I understand to deploy it I need to add it to the Publisher as a Server and then once up and running enable the Cisco TFTP service, then update the Option 150 address in my DHCP scope to point towards the new TFTP server.
A couple of questions, does the TFTP server need the following installed at the same level as the Publisher/Subscribers:
    Dial Plans
    Device Packs
    Locales
Thanks and any other comments appreciated.

    Hi Ian,
    - By architecture, the TFTP server would be the one pushing out the firmware load and  to the phones - so you would need your device packs, containing the bundle of firmware loads, to be on your standalone TFTP server.
    - locales install files which the phones get from the TFTP server, such as their dictionary - so you would need locales on the standalone TFTP server
    - Dial plans are files used by the CCM binary file. If you are not planning on running CCM service on the server ever, you don't need to install dial plans on that server.  However, as best practice, it is good to have dial plans, locales and device packs uploaded on this standalone TFTP server, in case the server roles were adjusted at a later point in time.

  • Fax server database

    Hi,
We are installing a Cisco fax server and there's a question that we could not find answer from Cisco documents:
If we install the Cisco Fax server using SQL Server 2005 Express directly on the server, could we lately change to other database server types? (such as MS SQL 2000/2005 Enterprise)
Anyone has experiences on this pls help.
    Thanks,
    hoanghiep

    Hello -
I have installed the Cisco Fax Server with either SQL 2005 Express, SQL Standard 2005 or Standard 2008, but not changed the version after install.  The following versions are supported (copied from the 9.4 installation guide):
    SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition
    SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
    SQL Server 2005 Express
    SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
    SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition
    SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition
    SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition
As you can see by the included web link - there are many vendors that do not recommend the Express version if you are installing a fax server that will exceed the records number capacity of Express or has heavy fax loads.  That load or record storage may depend upon your user historical requirements. One installation I worked with deleted the faxes after successful transmission since they were stored in Exchange instead, thereby keeping the RightFax DB clean and only needed Express locally for this purpose.  http://www.dsgi.net/Downloads/RightFax%209.3%20System%20Requirements.pdf
Note:  With subsequent versions of SQL, RightFax upgrades typically address local SQL installed during the fax server install.  For example, local copies of MSDE were upgraded to SQL 2005 Express.  If you provide a version other than the Express version, you are responsible for the upgrades to keep it current with fax server requirements.
    Hope this helps!  Ginger
