Integration of oracle datawarehouse to enterprise portal

Hi,
is it possible to connect/integrate an oracle datawarehouse to the enterprise portal? Has someone made this or has a reference of a client/company which made this integration?
Thanks,
Best regards,
Christine

Hello again,
Yes its very much possible. You will have to create a RFC / BAPI what ever you call it. And import it into  WD Java project.

  • Integrating Oracle 10GAS with Enterprise Portal

Has anyone ever hooked up Oracle 10GAS to the Enterprise Portal as a portlet?
We are looking into integrating a warehousing application into our EP 6.0 SP2 portal. This is a custom warehousing application based on Oracle forms using Oracle Application Server that we use in concert with our core R/3 system. We are considering use of the portal as a "front door" and are looking for some information / guidance on whether there might be existing content or frameworks to enable this integration. We are also interested in how single sign-on might be accomplished with this product.

We still have a few openings for talks directed towards DBAs.
Please email me directly if you are interested in participation.

  • Error after Integrating of Xcelsius SWF into Enterprise Portal

    Hi all,
I integrated Xcelsius SWF file into portal using Business Objects Integration Kit - iView Template. I can see dashboard in Portal. Its working fine. I have Refresh Button in the Dashboard.  If I refresh the dashboard , it shows cannot access External Data. Failed to get the document information(LO26315).
How can I resolve? Help me in this regard.
I am using BOE 3.1 and LO 3.1.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hemalatha J

With a Live Office connection, you would typically use the URL iView and the opendocument URL to integrate the dashboard into the Enterprise Portal. There are existing posts on this forum about opendocument and Xcelsius dashboards.
Obviously you need to make sure the dashboard refreshes fine outside of the portal, for instance from Infoview.
Then, you need to look at the cross domain constraints : have both Infoview and Enterprise Portal in the same domain or use crossdomain.xml. They are lots of posts on this forum about that too.

  • Integration of Adobe forms in Enterprise Portal

    <i>Manager Self Service:</i>
Say suppose i want to integrate "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area" into Portal:
I can deploy the MSS Business Package in Portal & with the appropriate iviews installed i can access "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area" in Portal.
The above thing works without any issues.
I have ads configured, acf & adobe lifecycle designer installed -- config tests are successfull for some sample webdynpro applications.
    <i>
    NEW Requirement:</i>
Users want to see the same "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area (ISR_FORM_SPPA, ISR_IF_SPPA) " in Portal as adobe interactive forms.
Can you tell me where i have to start to accomplish the above task?
Any insight on the below stuff would be higly appreciated and rewarded.
    1)?backend tcode sfp?
    2)?web dynpro java?
    3)?business package Enterprise Portals?
    Thanks in Advance,
    RK.

you can edit anything you like to .
If you want to modify any ESS / MSS Application, you need to have the source code of these XSS DC's as well in your Design Time, else it will give you build errors.
For this you need to have a JDI setup since the MSS and XSS are provided in two different tracks of DTR.
As far as I know because of the used dependency of ESS/MSS Applications, using JDI is the best (and only) option to modify the ESS/MSS WebDynpro Applications.
And then implementing the JDI, helps in version management .The only way to unpack ESS/MSS / PCUI_GP components properly for development is through NWDI. So NWDI is mandatory.
For further information please go through the link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b0/ee3441d95dd92be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Since you are interested in adding the adobe forms you need to have adobe server setup and then you can modify the existing webdynpro application to point to adobe forms.
In SDN tutorials tehre is a link for adobe applications, which you can try on your own. This has been asked many times in the forums and you will get the details with a simple search.
    Hope this helps!

  • Integration of Oracle RDF and Enterprise Search

    Hi,
Has anyone tried integrating Enterprise Search with the new RDF feature to enable true semantic search?

It would be interesting to hear from people who have tried this in an application.
As an FYI, using RDF query capabilities in Oracle, simple PL/SQL code can be written to do this. Consider search based on a query term X. SDO_RDF_MATCH can be used to find all terms related to X in a given ontology/RDF data set. All these terms can then be used in the 'Contains' operator that is part of Oracle Text, to find all documents in a table that contain any of those terms. We have some sample code to do this, if you are interested write to me at melliyal <dot> annamalai <at> oracle <dot> com. Tighter integration is being planned in a future release as well.
RDF queries can be also combined with other relational queries. An example in Oracle of simple SQL to combine querying RDF with a relational query is as follows:
    SELECT emp1.name, emp1.salary
    FROM emp1, TABLE(SDO_RDF_MATCH(
    '(?name :fatherOf :Matt)',
    SDO_RDF_Models('family'),
    null,
    SDO_RDF_Aliases(SDO_RDF_Alias('','http://www.example.org/family/')),
    null)) t where emp1.name=t.name;
The father of Matt is found by querying the family model (represented using RDF) using SDO_RDF_MATCH, and his salary is found out by doing a join with the table emp. Since the output of SDO_RDF_MATCH is a table, it can be easily joined with other relational data.

9iAS comes with an Email Server, if that is what you are asking.

  • Performance issue of BI Reports in SAP Enterprise portal -in SAPNW2004s

    Dear friends,
We are integrating BI Reports in SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 ( SAP NW- 2004s).The reports are running properly .But the issue here is reports are taking long time to open and leading it to performance effect.
Reports in BEX( Bi side) working lilttle better than EP platform.
And Even BI team is looking for ways to improve the performance.
Could you please share your ideas to implement in portal side to increase the performance.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ratnakar Reddy

    Hello Mr. Reddy,
There are two possibilities for slow performance in BW reports, so we need to look into wether its slow in the BW system or at the frontend.
If the problem resides in the BW system then we should be able to trace the reports
and you can go for a SAP EW or GV sessin and SAP will provide recommendations.
If the problem resides at the frontend
Update the frontend servers to the latest frontend release.
    Recommended Frontend Release 700
    Recommended Frontend Patch      18
Update the frontend servers to the lates SAP GUI release as soon as possible.
Minimum Recommended SAP GUI Release 6.40
Your frontend PCs should fulfill the following requirements:
Each frontend PC should have 500 MHz and 128 MB main memory.
Because of a limit in the addressable memory, Windows 95 is not supported as Frontend OS for 3.X BW Systems. Please refer to SAP Notes 161993, 321973 and 366626 for details.
Please also check SAP Note 147519 "Maintenance strategy/ deadlines 'SAPGUI'".
If you still require any assistance from SAP support then raise a message under component ( probably BW-BEX-ET-WEB).
Provide your input, if you have any.
    Thank you,
    Tilak

  • Performance issue of BI reports in SAP Enterprise portal

    Dear Friends,
We have  integrated BI reports with SAP Enterprise portal 7.0.Reports are running properly But the issue is reports are taking more time to dispsaly its content and leading it to  performance effect.
In Bex ( BI side) reports  performance is little better than  SAP EP platform. BI Team also looking for ways to improve performance  at BI side.
Could you please share your valuable ideas to improve  the performance at SAP EP side also ..
    Thanks and Regards
    Ratnakar Reddy

    Hi ratnakar,
The first step is to identify which component is causing the performance problem. Run your report in the portal but try appending the string &PROFILING=X in the end of the URL. This will generate BI statistics which you can use to see which component (Java stack, ABAP stack, Database) is causing the performance issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • BEx Web Application or Query as iView in the Enterprise Portal

    Hi,
I am integrating BW System in to Enterprise Portal. the following link shows

    Sequence of Steps
We recommend that you execute the necessary steps in the following order:
           1.      Create an RFC destination in the J2EE-Engine in SAP EP 6.0
           2.      Create an RFC destination for SAP EP 6.0 in SAP BW
           3.      Maintain the portal server settings for SAP EP 6.0 in SAP BW
           4.      Maintain Single Sign-On in SAP BW
           5.      Export the BW certificate in SAP BW
           6.      Import the BW certificate in SAP EP 6.0
           7.      Create BW system in SAP EP 6.0
           8.      Configure user management in SAP EP 6.0
           9.      Export the portal certificate in SAP EP 6.0
       10.      Import the portal certificate in SAP BW
       11.      Set up repository manager for BW in SAP EP 6.0
       12.      Maintain user assignment in SAP EP 6.0
       13.      Import SAP Basis Plug-In in SAP BW
is it required to follow all these steps?
what are the prerequisites to integrate BW system in to Enterprise portal, i would like to work on all the scenarios mentioned in this link

  • Integrating BOE in the NW CE portal

    Hi experts,
I have watched this webinar subjecting "Integrating BOE in the SAP Enterprise Portal Pros and Cons"
    FEATURED EVENTS
It is very informative and this is exactly what we need to implement in our shop. However, in our shop, it is mandatory to use the NW CE portal, not NW BI portal, because the CE portal is required for the SAP PBF application.
I believe the solution outlined in the webinar was for the BI portal. Has anyone have experience with implementing KM and iiView templates in the NW CE environment?  Is this supported? Is there an alternative to achieve such integration?
Thanks in advance for your advices.

Thank you, John, for the response.
Has anyone ever tried to configure CE to SSO into Infoview home page or a folder level page? If so, would appreciate if you can shed some light on the approach used.

  • Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms

    Hi
Can anyone help me on this .
"Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms".
I want to integrate oracle forms to EP .I am trying to work with app Integrator but I am not able to make any headway.Do you have any documents pertaining to this or any place where I can look for details.
    Thanks
    Alok

    Hi,
i'm not aware of special integration feature with Oracle forms, but if as you said we are talking about a web application available via url then i see no problem doing so. the way you can implement the SSO is using something called Application Integrator which helps you build smart URL iView's that can use the portal framework (like systems, user profile , etc) , so you can build your oracle forms integration iView that will take the user password data from the portal (via system) using user mapping or sap logon tickets.
for more details on Application Integrator see
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/70/5a3842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
regarding to the java applet, i don't really know what you mean by "jinitiator" but if your regular browser can do it then i see no reason for problems.
    i hope it helps
