Integration of SPM & E-Sourcing

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to activate the option of creating an auction from the SPM reports. There is very little help available for the same. As per the link I had obtained from help.sap, I had done some settings. But, the integration is not done correctly since the system gets freezed at the screen of connection.
The setting in E-Sourcing for maintaining the URL etc has been done.
Can someone pls explain me how are the templates to be created(as they have been mentioned in the link, but no steps are provided).
Any other help is also very welcome.

1. What versions of SPM and E-sourcing are you using for this integration?
2. Have the SSO configurations been done? This should be documented in the SPM installation guide and the E-sourcing user guide
3. How does your E-sourcing URL look like as configured in related applications?
4. Can you send a screen shot of related apps screen itself?
Please refer to E-Sourcing manuals for documentation on template creation.

Hi Pankaj,
There are no limitations of external data you can bring into BW and visualise in the SPM UI - you can expose custom bex queries as "datasources" in the user interface, and these can show anything you like. Its just a question about what makes sense to show in SPM.

Integration with Chinese data source.

Gurus,
We have a very unique requirement to integrate to Oracle Database which is in Chinese Language(chinese data). Actually one of our integration point will be a Chinese source and rest will be English sources.
How to implement such kind of integration scenario using SOA.Any pointers will be of great help.

Purchase Order Integration Model Activation Error "Source Invalid"

Hi Experts,
When I try to activate Purchase Order CIF integration model for a specific plant, I am getting an error
"SOURCE_INVALID" r XC 014
When I checked failed LUW, found one product which is Subcontracted.
These a Subcon PO exist at this plant and Vendor is Subcon Vendor.
Before IM activation, I have CIFed Subcon vendor and T-lane between Vendor to plant exists in APO.
Any idea how can I resolve this issue?

I hope you have created subcontracting purchasing info record and connected with the productuon version.
Secondly whether it is valid.
A purchasing info record of the category subcontracting which documents the subcontractor as the source of supply of the end product.

Integration SAP ERP & SAP Sourcing through Oracle ESB

Hello,
Currently I am working on architecture design for new implementation of SAP Sourcing 10.
Obviously we are going to face integration aspects between SAP ERP & SAP Sourcing (Material, Vendor Master etc..).
As the the main integration platform in client's architecture is Oracle ESB, I wonder if we can use it instead of SAP PI. Client is not even considering new installation of SAP PI for integrating ERP & Sourcing, although the SAP documentation clearly states SAP PI is a mandatory component.
Do you think we can do it with Oracle ESB? Obviously assuming a greater effort than it would take with SAP PI.
As ERP <-> Sourcing scenarios base on RFC, IDOC, File, HTTP - I would say yes at first thought (as Oracle ESB is capable of communication in these protocols). But is anyone with such experience? Are there any other limitations that should be considered?

Hi Tomasz,
All of the Integration Content is built for PI. Hopefully someone that has done this with Oracle ESB will respond but I think there will be significantly more work as the integration that is delivered is all done with PI in mind. Some customers have decided to go ahead with PI so that they could take advantage of the standard integration.

I have found some information about this, it relates with HResults.DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTNOEOR Field. I would like to know why this happens, and how to fix it. Also I can run CDC Source in another

MSDN’s explantion: This error does not indicate that an argument is missing. It means that the start or end LSN values in the CDC state variable are invalid.
But why is '0x0000006A000002620003' and '0x0000008A0000008B0001' invalid?

XCode Integration With VSS (Visual Source Safe)

We have recently start developing for iPhone using XCode. We already have Visual Source Safe in place as our source control and I want to give it a try (integrate with XCode) before thinking of using CVS or SVN.
Sometime back TheSilverHammer talk about VSS integration with XCode in his post "Two questions: Xcode 2.4 (reloading a source file) and endianness ...", however it was not clear how he did that? This post is now archived and is no longer available for replies. TheSilverHammer can you, or anyone else please tell how is it possible?

I don't really know about VSS/XCode integration but I have to make a comment. Dump VSS. Pour gasoline on it, light a match and run.
There are so many issues with VSS I'm not sure where to begin. No scalability, terrible stability, proprietary, etc.
You mentioned CVS and SVN. In the long run you'll be way better off with either of those. Personally I prefer SVN.

Robohelp 8 integration via the Microsoft Source Control API (Perforce/Subversion)

Robohelp 8 claims to support the Micorsoft Source Control API, which allows third party source control systems to be used with it. Unfortunately, it seems to work great with Subversion (third party plug-in required) and Perforce until we rename a file. Then it fails. For Perforce, it fails with no error. The file just doesn't get renamed. For Subversion, we get an ugly error from the plug-in, but after consulting with the plug-in's developers (PushOK) and given the same problem in Perforce, I think this is an RH8 bug.
Has anyone else seen this, or does anyone else have experience with this?

Outlook Integration SBO Mailer Email source

Hi,
I'm wondering where SBO gets information when you push the email button.
For purchase orders, sales quotes, etc. it's easy, just pulls from the business partner's primary contact.
BUT, now I need to use the mailer for sending service calls to remote technicians. I have tested bringing up the service call, filling it out as usual, assigning a technician, etc. I go to click the email button, i say attach file, then it says that I am the recipient (ie, it is always the person who is logged in that is the email recipient).
I have tried every email field there is from the technician to the customer equipment card, etc. Is there any way to have the technicians email input as the recipient by default? Or has anyone used a formatted search related to the email window?

Hello,
By default it pulls up email information for whomever is listed in the 'handled by' field.
At least that is what it is supposed to do.
If it isn't, there may be a larger issue.

Create error and integration tables o source

Hi,
I would like to perform all the integration steps on the source schema and then just put the data on my target table. This means that I want to create I$ and E$ tables on the source schema. How can I handle this? Shall I write a new CKM? I'm working with Oracle as source and target databases...

Mistake from me, I do not think this is entirely possible.
Using CKMs and most of the incremental update IKMs suppose that objects are created on the target (Error tables are always created on the target server).
The configuration that would work is with no control and an "IKM SQL to SQL Append" used from the source to the target.

SPM and P-Cards integration

Hi Experts,
We have SPM application implemented in our company and now we are trying to integrate data from P-Cards (data sent by one of the banks we operate with).
Could you please reference us to some documentation regarding the integration between SPM and P-Cards. Which data do we have to load?. Which are the alternatives we have to load this data? Do we need to write custom code to re-format the bank files to accomodate SPM requirements? BOBJ-IM is the recommended tool for this?
Does anyone have any experience integrating data from P-Cards?.

Bank/PCard, T&E expenses are all types of spend and will go into the invoice cube.
Customers have loaded bank/pcard information into SPM. If the format is simple then you actually might not need any pre processing of the file. If the file format is straight forward and one is to one then you could simply use the templates in SPM data mgmt to create appropriate mapping and load the file in.

Best practice on integration message augmentation via user exit or rfc call

I am looking for documentation that would provide best practices on whether to use user exits to augment the data on an IDOC or to forward the standard SAP produced IDOC to PI where rfc calls are made to augment the data as required for the specific target system.
I am sure there are pros and cons for both solutions, but I am hesitant to use user exits since we now have moved the knowledge of what a target system wants from the integration layer to the source layer. If a second target system comes along in the future, the user exit becomes more complicated with additional target specific requirements.
Any links to best practice documentation on this subject is greatly appreciated.

Might be trying for solution for a long time, If i understood your question clear let me clarify you few points.
You are trying to access the bex query which is designed with the exit's in the background based on the logic and trying to call the entire dimensions and key-figures in a single connection. Then you are trying to map those data in the charts.
Steve, try to make more connections based upon the logic and split them. use the same query but split them by sales per customer group, sales per day, sales per week by making three different connections and try. You can merge the prompts from all connections.

Transformation step in Integration Process

Hello Everybody,
I have used a transformation step in Integration process to transform source structure to target structure. In the same block i have used control step to cancel the process if there is any error found in transformation. I am handling this by raising exception.
Now my problem is, i found my message got failed in PE and it is showing that there is error in mapping, i took the copy of corresponding message from SXM_MONITOR and tested the mapping program, It executed successfully but the Integration process is showing that there is an error in mapaping.
Please let me know your thoughts, urgent.

make sure that in bpm u r using exactly the same message mapping.
could be due to cache refresh problem. activate the message mapping again. also check the cache notifications.
if it still do not works then do a full cache refresh.

pipeline is a set of services that process XML messages
on the integration engine
When a source message reaches the Integration server, it performs 6 steps before the message reaches the destination. The steps are:
1) Receiver Determination: This steps determines the system that participates in the exchange of the message.
2) Interface Detremination: For each receiver determine which interface will should receieve the message.
3) Message Split: If more than one receievers are found, Xi will instantiate new message for each receiver.
4) Message Mapping: Mapping to transform the source message to destination message format.
5) Technical Routing: Bind a specific destination and protocol to the message.
6) Call outbound Adapter: Send the transformed message to the adapter or a proxy.
One can examine these steps in Runtime Workbench using the Transaction: SXMB_MONI.
XI pipleine steps are-
Sender Agreement->Reciever Determination->Interface Determination->Interface Mapping->Reciever Agreement.
1) Sender adapter will poll the data into XI . This is carried out by Adapter Engine
Once it reached XI, it will in XI Message pipeline in the integration engine.
2) Reciever Determination is executed - to look into who is the reciever
3) Then Interface determination- Sender Interface and Reciever Interface Mapping
4) reciever Agreement- with adapter or proxy structure.
