Integration Oracle Portal 10g and PeopleSoft 9

Hi all,
I need to accomplish the integration of Oracle Portal 10g with features of PeopleSoft 9, where some functions of PeopleSoft 9 will be accessed via Oracle Portal 10g, and to access them the users must be authenticated.
Anyone have any clue or idea how can I do this?

I just met this problem too,and I found there are http server both under ASinfrasture and portal home,I guess they confused each other.I wonder the solution too.

Does OEM Grid Control 10g support monitoring Oracle Portal 10g?

Dear expert,
It seems OEM GC 10g could monitor WebCenter, Weblogic portal and even Websphere portal, but I could not find any info for Oracle Portal. So,
1. Does OEM GC support to monitor Oracle Portal 10g? If not, does it support Oracle Portal 11g?
2. If does not support Oracle Portal, then is there any workaround for it? E.g. if it’s feasible through “web appliation”?
Any comment and docs are welcome.

Do you mean OEM AS Console or OEM GC? Boz I only find these metrics from OEM AS Console, which mentioned in this doc. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/b25987/oracle_portal.htm#CHDFJHDD
If these metrics only available in AS Console, then how to let the OEM send out email notification if critical threshold is over?

Oracle University has released two new classes for OracleAS Portal 10g: OracleAS Portal 10g: Build Corporate Portals and OracleAS Portal 10g: Build Portlets with PL/SQL. The first sessions are in February in the US in Reston, VA. These are the very first hand-on classes on Oracle Application Server 10g.
A third class, OracleAS Portal 10g: Build Portlets with Java, will be released soon too.

This is a worthwhile course, but not for learning about Oracle Instant Portal (which was released after the Build Corporate Portals course was written). The best place to start finding out about Oracle Instant Portal is the self-paced Oracle By Example (OBE) tutorial, Building Instant Portals with Oracle Instant Portal. The tutorial also has links to a couple of viewlets, which you should find helpful.

Integrating Oracle Portal & Microsoft Active Directory

Dear friends
I Integrated Oracle Portal & Microsoft Active Directory without any error or problems but it just integrate the users under Users Container in active directory, I have some OU,Groups and policies and I categorized my users under them, so when I run "sh oidspadi.sh" and set "cn=...." with other values except "Users" it can not add all of the users under specific groups or policies.
Please let me know how can I add all of my users in active directory to OID?

I'm not familiar with iPlanet, but if it can allow basic
authentication and connect to AD, it should be possible to do what
you want.
Personally, I would rather that the browser did not
automatically log me in. For example, if someone was having
problems with their "view" on the intranet web site, if they
visited your office, you would have to log off, let them log on
(and wait while their profile was created) just to let them open a
browser.
Is it really asking too much for them to enter their
username/password into a browser prompt once each day? Heck, most
browsers will remember usernames and passwords so you don't have to
type it. You just click OK.
That's just my perspective.

Difference in select for update of - in Oracle Database 10g and 11g

Hi, I found out that Oracle Database 10g and 11g treat the following PL/SQL block differently (I am using scott schema for convenience):
DECLARE
  v_ename bonus.ename%TYPE;
BEGIN
  SELECT b.ename
    INTO v_ename
    FROM bonus b
    JOIN emp e ON b.ename = e.ename
    JOIN dept d ON d.deptno = e.deptno
   WHERE b.ename = 'Scott'
     FOR UPDATE OF b.ename;
END;
/While in 10g (10.2) this code ends successfully (well NO_DATA_FOUND exception is raised but that is expected), in 11g (11.2) it raises exception "column ambiguously defined". And that is definitely not expected. It seems like it does not take into account table alias because I found out that when I change the column in FOR UPDATE OF e.empno (also does not work) to e.mgr (which is unique) it starts working. So is this some error in 11g? Any thoughts?

The behaviour seems like it really is a bug and can be avoided using non-ANSI syntax. (It makes me wonder why Oracle maintains two query languages while dumb me thinks that this is just a preprocessor matter and query engine could be the same).

What are the differences between oracle adf 10g and adf 11g

Running Oracle database 10g and 11g on same 5 RAC nodes

Hello Gurus,
Could any body throw light if I can install and sucessfully run Oracle database 10g and 11g on the same Oracle RAC installation setup.My setup is below
Number of nodes-5
OS- windows 2003 or RHEL5
storage- DELL EMC SAN
Clusterware- oracle version11g
File system-Automatic storage management(ASM)
After I successfully setup clusterware,ASM on the nodes,I would want to install 11g database on all 5 nodes .
Then Install 10g database on only 3 of the nodes using the same clusterware.
What are your views on the same.
Also FYI... as per metalink node 220970.1(RAC: Frequently Asked Questions) one can do such a setup.
what iam looking for is practical experience if anyone has implemented this in production system,if yes any issues faced and how tough it is to support.

You could run an 11g database and 10g database on the same cluster as long as you use Clusterware 11g.
The administration aspect will drastically change according to the platform you run on. As of now, it appears you don't know whether it will be Linux or Windows.
It would be practical to support the same database release.

You can find in knowledge exchange a script to create an flash file item type. With this installed you can add a flash file to an item region on a page.
