Integration Oracle Utilities CC&B w/ non-Oracle bespoke Meter Data Management system

Hello all,
In your opinion, what's the best way to integrate a bespoke (non-Oracle) Meter Data Management system with Oracle CC&B 2.3.1 or 2.4?
I came up with a few possible scenarios and would love to hear your opinion:
1. Use CC&B Meter Read upload (MUP) batch process to upload reads from our bespoke Meter Data system.
2. The bespoke Meter Data Management system adds Meter Reads to CC&B using a CC&B Inbound Service.
3. At Billing time, CC&B invokes a Get Consumption Algorithm (invoked before the Bill Segment Creation Algorithm) which is responsible for requesting the reads from our bespoke Meter Data Management system.
This is the approach used by the Oracle CC&B-Oracle MDM integration when it comes to Usage requests/transactions.
4. Any other idea? Feel free to share.

Oracle Meter Data Management Integration with SAP ISU

Hello Everyone,
I am aware of the fact that Oracle has released a Media pack for the subject integration as discussed here and that media pack works only for SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 5 with ISU_AMI_2.
We have got OU MDM Release 2.1 Media Pack v4 and SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 4 with ISU_AMI_1 and hence Adapter in MDM won't help to achieve integration with SAP as our SAP EHP is lower than what is required for the MDM adapter. We have got SAP PI which would help the SAP End in the integration.
What are the possible work-around(s) to achieve the integration between Oracle MDM and SAP ISU without using the Media Pack/Adapter?
How does MDM exposes its services (inbound/outbound) to be consumed/triggered by External systems (i.e. SAP ISU)?
List of Services (inbound/outbound) exposed by Oracle MDM for integration?

Script to Stop and Start Oracle Meter Data Management

Hi,
This is my first post in Oracle forums so if i open this in the wrong thread please forgive me.
I tried to create a windows batch script to stop and start Oracle Meter Data Management but i can´t.

D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\splenviron.cmd -e MDMDEV
D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\spl.cmd stop
D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\splenviron.cmd -e MDMDEV
D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\spl.cmd stop
The batch exits in the first command and i can´t understand why.
Another thing is if i use spl.cmd stop command it doesn´t do nothing, is this normal?

I had to put a call command in mine. I think it is because you are trying to run a .cmd file within your bat file. You're actually changing shells. Thats why you need the call.

I actually set mine up to use variables so all I had to change from script to script was the environment...

I'm currently running these scripts in the startup/shutdown script section of the local machine policy (gpedit.msc).

CC&B and Meter Data Management Integration Usage Requests

Hello.
We investigating the following issue: Trying to create a Bill in CC&B with getting usage data from Meter Data Management using Usage Requests engine. Help pages of CC&B describe the big picture of Usage Requests and configuration overview. So this information is not enough for correct and complete adjustments. There is no any information about outbound and inbound XML messages formats.
CC&B help contains link to the document: Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Meter Data Management Integration Implementation Guide, but our attempts of searching of this document was ineffectual.
It's interesting to get any information about Usage Requests from CC&B to Meter Data Management or link to the document mentioned above.

P.S. Our current setup of Usage Request gives the next log during bill segment generation (we are using jms queues and xsl transformation of outbound and inbound messages. So MDM sends a response, but something wrong in further processing on CC&B side). As a result we get a bill segment in Error state with remark "Usage Request for Bill Segment is not found.".

Is it possible to deploy Oracle forms in a different non Oracle Mid Tier

Hi guys,
This is just a learning question, and for better understanding purposes.
Is it possible for us to deploy Oracle fmb's into non-Oracle Middle tiers and make them running. I am aware that forms are Oracle developed products and are product dependent and runs when deployed on Oracle Application Servers or Weblogic Servers but still has any one managed or is aware to make them run on Non-Oracle Mid Tiers . Please clarify is it possible in any means to transfer these fmb files to non-Oracle product and make them run.
In addition to that, please share your knowledge is it the same to .rdf as well.
Your contribution is appreciated in advance. Please provide supporting links or any if you have.

It is not possible. The Forms runtime is a C Process; that runtime, that interprets FMX files, only exists in Oracle Application Server, so you need to have OAS or Weblogic to run Forms.

Pre installers for installing Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.0.2

is there any pre installers for installing Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.0.2 for Meter Data Management V2.0.0 Multiplatform??

It would help if you provided osme basic information like what version you are installing, what operating system, 32 bit or 64 bit. We may like to help but we are not mind readers.
If you happen to be installing one of the latest versions of the framework (CC&B FW 2.2 SP 8) there is an issue.
You may have to start off with hibernate 3.2.5 then run the framework installation.
This may not do a full install but you may find that only 1 or patches have not been installed and the issue is that these require hibernate 3.2.7
So go back and install the hibernate 3.2.7 and change the environment variables to point to the new version.
Re-run the framework installer.
You may get errors in that the patches that did not previously install properly cannot be installed.
This is because they have entries in the etc/installed_fixes.txt file.
edit the etc/installed_fixes.txt file and delete the patches that will not install.
re-run the installer now and the rest of the patches should now install
The 2 offending patches may be 9384543 and 9080333.

could any body help me how to install oracle CC&B and meter data management softwares.my doubt is should we install cc&B and MDM in developer mechines and application and web server mechines both.How many servers are required for this.

Best Approach for integrating SAP CRM with Outage Management System

Hi All,
We are moving towards deploying Outage Management System (Oracle Utilities NMS) to help localize the fault, achieve Outage Management and a transparent network with a near-real time stats. We already have SAP ECC 6.0, ISU, SAP PI 7.0 and SAP CRM 7.0. One of the challenges we are facing is to decide how should we go about the integration of SAP CRM with Oracle's Outage Management System.
Here is a sample business scenario,
CSR receives a call from a consumer and inquires about planned outages for a particular area.
This information is contained in the Outage Management System (OMS). OMS is SOA based and is hosted on Oracle Service Bus.
I want to know that is there any ES Bundles available for CRM-OMS integration? Should we go about Service Based Integration? What are the alternatives to Service based integration? Can it be done using BAPIs?
We receive around 1000 consumer complains and against every complain a ticket is generated in CRM. Now If CRM is integrated with OMS using SAP PI, the volume of the data being exchanged via PI is very much high and exceeds our licensed volume for SAP PI. So I do need to know the best practices for either approach that you may recommend.

does anyone have an idea about this one, I've asked this question in a few places and no one really seems clear about it.
Also, I've read here and there that SAP Business One is not a real SAP product. It was bought by SAP and is sold by them but has little do to with SAP's technology (R/3, SAP ERP, Netweaver, SAP CRM, ...), and that therefore they don't support it that much ? Is any of this right ?
I'm just trying to get my vision of the SAP universe clear.

Integrating Oracle Utilities using Oracle SOA

Hi,
I need help on how to proceed to integrate Oracle utilities using Oracle SOA
Our project has around 13 modules like New connection, Disconnection, Dismantle, Billing , Global Information System
Each modiule will interact with different other modules to get few services.
For Example: 1)New Connection module should interact with Billing to generate the invoice in one scenarion
and with Global Information System to identify the location in other scenario
2) Same way Disconnection need to interact with other modules to get some information from other modules.
3) All modules may need a SMS/ Email facility to send to the customers.
I need to integrate this kind of application using Oracle SOA
Please help me on how I should proceed further.
Do i need to create a seperate BPEL process for each request of individual module and give them the endpoint of my WSDL to interact with other modules ?
Can I have a single entry point and then navigate from there ? If so, the input params may vary, how this should be handled ?
Please help me on developing this kind of project. Any sample applications are also helpful ...

DRM is an independent or stand alone application. Even other applications like IBM cognos and SAP apps also uses DRM as their master data management tool.

I have downloaded AWB install exe from oracle eDelivery site. Its a 32 bin exe.
I am trying to install this exe on 64 bit windows 7 platform.
But while installing the exe, installation is halting at a particular point and then the installation is getting rolled back.

Take a look into Plug-ins, there are some none-oracle ones pre built by Oracle and others.

Oracle Heterogeneous Services
Warehouse Builder communicates with non-Oracle systems using Oracle Database Heterogeneous Services and a complementary agent. Heterogeneous Services make a non-Oracle system appear as a remote Oracle Database server. The agent can be an Oracle Transparent Gateway or the generic connectivity agent included with Oracle Database.
A transparent gateway agent is a system-specific source. For example, for a Sybase data source, the agent is a Sybase-specific transparent gateway. You must install and configure this agent to support the communication between the two systems.
Generic connectivity is intended for low-end data integration solutions and the transfer of data is subject to the rules of specific ODBC or OLE DB drivers installed on the client machine. In this case, you do not need to purchase a separate transparent gateway; you can use the generic connectivity agent included with the Oracle Database server. You must still create and customize an initialization file for your generic connectivity agent.

Can SQL*Plus connect via ODBC to NON-Oracle data source?????

I am struggling to understand something. I downloaded Oracle instance client, SQL*Plus and ODBC components with the hopes of being able to connect via SQL*Plus to a non-Oracle/ODBC compliant database.
Is this possible? Or is SQL*Plus ability to connect via ODBC only to an Oracle data source??

sqlplus only connects to oracle. you can use the odbc driver from instant client to allow other applications to access oracle via odbc (e.g. excel). if you need to connect to non-oracle odbc database (ms-access, foxpro, etc.) you need odbc driver for those sources.
you can use sqldeveloper to connect to oracle and non-oracle databases. check otn product info for sqldeveloper for more details.

Error while configuring Eclipse SDK for Oracle Utilities SDK 2.2

Hi.
I'm installing an Enterprise Taxation Management development workstation. I followed the install guide from top to bottom.
The application server is ok, the SDK seems to be OK.
I executed 'configureEclipse.exe' and made manual configurtions -as the install guide reads-. The eclipse project was created, but it has 2 missing libraries.
When I open eclipse, it shows the following errors:
Project EclipseProject220 is missing required library: 'lib/ojdbc5-11.1.0.6.0.jar'
Project EclipseProject220 is missing required library: 'lib/spl-ccb-2.2.0.jar'
My questions is ¿where do I get those jar files?
About the environement:
The develpment workstation is a laptop running Windows 2003 server, with ETM v2.2.0 Application Server installed. 3rd party SW is installed ok (appropiated versions). Web Server is Apache Tomcat v6.0.13. Eclipse v3.2.2. Oracle Utilities SDK v2.2.0.5 installed.
Database is installed on another computer, running Windows XP with Oracle Database 11i, connected on a LAN.

I had these problems too..
I suppouse you're installind TAX (ETM) so the library you need is lib/spl-tax-2.2.0.jar'
On the other hand, the othe 'lib/ojdbc5-11.1.0.6.0.jar' eclipse is asking for. I changed it for 'lib/ojdbc5-11.1.0.7.0.jar'
After change these libs I can run the generator and deploy scripts even when i don't know jet how to develop.
Dou you have some cookbooks for developing (algorithnms, modify native clases, ect) you'd like to share??
