Integration Scenarios vs Process Component Modelling

Hi Experts,
Just wanted to know:
1) How theoritically and technically, is 7.0's Integration Scenarios different from 7.1's Process modelling?
2) For what kind of cases we go for Integartion Scenarios and for what kind of cases we model a PCM?
3) What is "Deployment Unit" in PCM?
Thanks
Shailesh

Hi,
>>>1) How theoritically and technically, is 7.0's Integration Scenarios different from 7.1's Process modelling?
Process Component modeling is ment for modeling SOA, where you create a Business Object, Service Interfaces, etc and this help to understand the business semantics of enterprise services in the business process platform. And you will not create Receiver Determination, Interfaces Determination out if that. Where as Integration Scenario is meant only for integration where you define Sender system, receiver system etc...
>>>2) For what kind of cases we go for Integartion Scenarios and for what kind of cases we model a PCM?For normal integration between 2 or more systems you use Integration Scenario. But Process Component Model is for Service Provisioning.
>>>3) What is "Deployment Unit" in PCM?
All the related/dependent Process Components are tied together in one unti and this is called Deployment unit. It also describes the logical boundary of the  Process Component. Apart from this deployment units are the only installable units and this shows what types of interactions are needed between process components.
Thanks,
Prakash

  • Creating a Configuration Scenario from Process Component Interaction Model

    Dear All,
I created a very simple SAP Pro Comp Interaction Model in ESR.
It has two Process Components (PC1, PC2) with a Service Interface (SI1,SI2)
    and Operation (OP1,OP2) each.
There is one message (MT1) flowing between these two Process Components.
I have created and activated all ESR objects.
Now I try to configure the same in ID.
But I get an error in Model Configurator saying
"Process component PC1 does not contain a reference to a process component from the Enterprise Services Repository"
"Process component PC2 does not contain a reference to a process component from the Enterprise Services Repository"
The first step of the Configurator ie. Select Model says "Not Configurable"
What could the issue be? Has anyone configured a Pro Comp Interaction Model successfully?
I am able to configure the SAP delivered Models perfectly well. Just an issue with custom models.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Error in Integration Scenario: No software Component version exists

    Hi Experts,
We have external product and software component like Product "Project Management" we have imported the CIM content for it
Now when we create an Application Component for the same in Integration Scenario in ESR (PI7.1)
while trying to do right click --> Edit Action it gives Error
"" No imported software component version exists for product"
Also note that it allows us to Add new Action there
that is we can right click --> Add action

  • Process Modeling in ESR vs. ccBPM( Integration Scenario & Process )?

    Hi...
I'm very confusing this two type of solution in ESR.
When should we use the modeling like Integration Scenario Model, Process Component Model and Process Component Interaction Model?
    and
When should we use ccBPM like Integration Scenarios & Integration Processes?
What's the differences between Modeling & ccBPM in ESR?
    Thank you.

One needs to go for ccBPM when you have a business logic to implement in PI or you have to communicate with multiple systems sequentially or simultaneously from with in XI.
(In my words..)Integration scenario is nothing but a graphical depiction of the entire integration scenario. It is not a compulsion but good to have. By looking at it one can understand which systems are participating and what are the sequence of actions being executed among them and the type of communication they are using. Also I am not sure but, a properly designed Integration Scenario can imported in to Directory to create the ID configuration objects in  wizard like mode.

  • Multiple component view in integration scenario

    Hi
I have <b>multiple component views</b> defined in my integration scenario.
When i try to configure these component view in Integration directory in integration scenarion configurator, if I select the component view i want to apply then the systems give a message " All configuration settings made in the current component view will be lost".
This means that if i have configured the first component view and then try to configure the second component view then setting of first view get lost.
i want to have all the configure all the component views in the integration scenario.
Please provide some pointers for the issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Amit Deshpande

    Amit,
When you have multiple component views in the Integration scenario, you would ideally want to create separate configuration scenarios for each component view.
So for eg. if you have four component views, 4 different configuration scenarios can be created using the integration scenario configurator. The only thing is that you would have to repeat the integration scenario configurator steps[Tools->Transfer Integration Scenario from Integration Repository] 4 times, once for each component view. If you notice, you can change the name of the configuration scenario each time you start afresh.
The message is a warning that if you go back during the integration scenario configuration process[the first step is the selection of the component view for which you want the configuration scenario] and change the component view then all the changes made thus far would be lost.
For e.g if you are in step 3[Assign Services, I think] and then go back and change the component view, all the changes made for the original component view selected would be lost.
    Hope this helps.

  • Integration Scenario Configurator

    Hello!
I want to generate the receiver determination for an integration process on XI 3.0 SP10 with the Integration Scenario Configurator.
I have created an Integration Scenario in the Integration Repository, there are no errors when checking with F7.
If I open it in the Integration Directory and go to Integration Scenario Configurator -> Check Configurability I get the following error message:
"Component View /Role <my Integration Process>: Only connections with interfaces that belong to the integration process interface are permitted"
What does the error message mean? What do I need to change to eliminate this error message?
The connections point to interfaces I have defined in the same software component as the integration scenario and process. For the integration process I have created abstract interfaces.
    Regards, Tanja

    Hi Simon!
I was able to solve this problem some weeks ago but thanks for your hint anyway.
As you have mentioned the problem was that in the Integration Repository the integration scenario was not consistent with the used integration process as it  contained a wrong interface.
After I have corrected the integration process in the Integration Repository and updated the changes in the Integration Directory the generation with the Integration Scenario Configurator worked without any problems and the status of the process changed to 0 in SXI_CACHE.

  • Create Integration Scenario - Step by Step

    Hi All,
Can anyone guide me the step by step procedure for creating integration scenario in IR. Thanks
    Deno

    Hi Deno,
I think you have got enough idea hw to create a Integration scenaion in the IR itself..any way let me explain my self point ways so you might get atleats one point would give you more advantage.
First you have to finish the Data types,Message Types,Message Interface and Message Mapping and Interface Mapping after you done with all the above things you will be starting of the below steps for start creating the IntegarationScenario.
    1) Click on Integration Scenarios & Integaraton Process in your name space and you will be able to see the three objects..among three select the actions and right click and select new.So enter your action name, here one imoportant point is you need to select two actions one is for sender actiona and another one is receiver action.
2)Give name to the sender action
For sender:select the outbound interface and select the object type as Message Interface if it is the idoc select the idoc correspondingly, and select the Message Interface for the corresponding sender action (outbound) and same do the for the  receiver action also whre you need to select the Inbound interface.
    3) After you done with your actions go to the Integration Scenationand and give name to your Integation Scenation, you will be able to see the one white screen and place the cursor over the white screen and right click and select the Insert Aoppplication Component and select your sender action, select the product  and give name for the role and save it...the process is for sender action and also do the same for the receiver action.
    4) After you done with both sender actiona and receiver actions save it and activate.
5)once you activated your integration scenatio go to ID and select the  Tools drop down list and select teh Transfer Integration Scenatio from IR and select the your Integration Scenatio which you have created and click and finish after you done this you will be abel to see your integation scenario in you ID.
Please feel free to ask any doubts when you are doing the same above..
I will be waiting for your queries..
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Integration Processes within Integration Scenario

The process I need to model is as follows:
SRM XML PO => OAG XML PO => Embeded OAG XML PO in another message.
I have looked at trying to use an integration process to handle the first conversion and then a regular interface mapping for the 2nd. However despite creating the Integration process in the same software component as the Integration Scenario I get nothing in the drop down list when searching for the Integration process in the Application Component definition. Even if I try to create a new integration process from within the Application component I get an error saying that the SCV of the integration process and the SCV of the Application component are not the same
Does any one have any suggestions

    Hi Rajasekar,
           Hope u do fine.
Ur not mentioned any of ur requirement.
In BPM scenarios only we can create the INTEGRATION PROCESS.
In REPOISTERY--> we can design the INTEGRATION PROCESS.
In DIRECTORY--> Service can installed the Directory.

  • What is integration scenario & integration process in IR?

    hi friends
1).  can any one explain me about Integration scenario and Integration processes in "INTEGRATION REPOSITORY"?
2).  why we need to use this IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
3).  what is advantage of using IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
if you have any related links and documents please refer to me..................
    Thanks in Advance
    chinthapatla.bharat

    Hi Bharat,
    Integration Scenario
An integration scenario completely models the exchange of
messages for a collaborative process and provides an overview of the process flow.
It is overview of your whole integration scenario. In Integration Scenario each Swimlane represents a different business system. Mean you will have number of swimlanes as number of business system involved in your integration. Swimlane contains action. Actions are used for mentioning Inbound and outbound interfaces for the corresponding swimlane(business system).
Why we are using Integration Scenario?
We use integration scenario to genearate Integration Directory objects like Receiver Determination, Interface determination, Sender agreeement etc.
All XI content objects must be assigned to one or more integration scenarios (IS). Delivering XI-Content in the framework of an IS has the following advantages:
    1. The IS provides you with a central point of access for all integration objects. This is necessary for semantic and technical integration and facilitates business-driven development.
    2. The IS helps customers to understand the underlying business scenario of XI content objects.
    3. The IS serves as a kick-start for the configuration of the content at the customer site. The aim is to minimize the configuration effort for the customer.

    Integration Processes
An integration process is an executable, cross-system process for processing messages. In an integration process you define all the process steps that are to be executed and the parameters relevant for controlling the process.
You implement integration processes when you want to define, control, and monitor complex integration processes that extend across enterprise and application boundaries. The design and processing of integration processes is also known as cross-component Business Process Management (cross-component BPM, ccBPM).
the following case,u should consider to use integration process.
    1.Control/Monitor the messages in XI
    2. Collect/Merge the messages in XI
    3. Split the messages in XI
    4. To Multicast an Message
    5. Send an Alert based on the very complex business logic
    6. To integrate with cross component business process

  • Integration Scenarios & Integration Processes

Can somebody please explain me what are the "Actions" and "Integration Scenarios" for in Integration Scenarios & Integration Processes? I understand that " Integration Processes" is for creating BPM processes.

    HI Vijay
    Please see the below links.
    For Actions :
An action represents a function within an application component that is not subdivided further. Actions subdivide the process flow of an integration scenario
Internal Actions : Defined for a ‘separate’ software component version.
You can use internal actions in application components (of type Product Version or Main Instance) that (by using the product version) contain the same software component version in which the action is implemented.
External Actions : Defined for a software component version of a partner or for templates. You can use external actions in application components (of type Template or Product Version) that (by using the product version) contain the same software component version in which the integration scenario is implemented.

  • Process Component Interaction Model to Configuration

    Hi,
I've developped several interfaces by using Process integration scenarios . Now I want to use a Process Component Interaction Model as the starting point. The documentation describes how to build the different models but I don't find anything on how to go from your Process Component interaction model all the way to a configured scenario.
I suppose, you drill down all the elements and create the different design objects but I would like to actually have some documentation guiding me through it the first time.
Is there anything out there ???
The help seems to be still geared towards the PIScenario of previous versions.
Also, has anyone found a good book regarding modeling in PI other than interface patterns and the B2B book... everything I find seems to be for older versions .
    Thanks.
