Integration to CA Spectrum

Hi all,
Is there an integration for Orchestrator from CA Spectrum 9.3 and up?
We want to push alerts from Spectrum to Service Manager
If there's no integration pack for Spectrum, can the integration kit be used to build one?

Ramesh You are correct,CA Spectrum provides analysys of WAN,NetWork realted info.
Fist understand your requirement that evry day CA Spectrum provindg info at some particulra time in the format of Text file take it as example,If it is the case the text info placing somewhere in File server or some other place,in this you can use file adapter in sender side and receiver side use IDoc.
if it is not your requirement then you want to conenct to CA Specturm then betetr to develop OutBound JAVA Proxy to read info form directly,but put some more efforts to anyyze the requirement.
there is no standard content availble from SAP,my advice is to go for Proxy.

Integrating oracle with NMS? --URGENT

hi all!
this is very urgent!
i have 10g database running on rhel4. it is using the database control. We have Aprisma Spectrum working as the NETWORK MONITORING SYSTEM which uses SNMP POLLS. They are pulling info from all the servers using spectrum.
I am asked to configure the oracle database so that spectrum can pull information from the database.
i have gone through the internet, and the info which i got is that, i need to integrate oracle sub-agent to the agent already running on the server (snmpd).
do i need to install oracle management agent or the em sub-agent is sufficient.to be integrated with the spectrum management agent running on the server?
if so, how do we configure?

My question is, can't we configure the subagent of EM database control to configure with the snmpd daemons running on the host which talk to the management service like aprisma spectrum??
is it necessary that i need to install the grid control in my network and than install the oracle managment agents on all the database host (to be monitored)?
can't i install only the oracle management agent on the host and configure it to work with the aprisma spectrum master agent running on the host (snmpd daemons) (and will not have to install the grid control)??

Time & Payroll Integration

I went through many threads regarding Time & Payroll Integration. I didnt get clear picture of it. Can any one tell me where exactly this integration done. I know it will be done in IT 0007 (If I am not wrong). Can some one explain me in detail.

Dear Raj,
Infotype 0007 does have some influence on 0008, but it is limited to the number of hours defined in the work schedule.
In wide spectrum, the time wage types are used and they are validated through the ZL tables in the time evaluation, and are linked into the payroll schema.
Just by configuring the 7 infotype does not ensure that your Time and Payroll are integrated.

Audio Frequency Spectrum

Hi,
I'm looking for an FCE feature (3.5), or a Soundtrack feature (1.5) that allows to display the audio +frequency spectrum+ of a selection of an audio clip. My purpose is to analyze frequencies for a section of audio (e.g. a voice or a noise), identify a frequency range to fix, and modify its gain by using the standard FCE +3 Band Equalizer+ filter or the +AUGraphic EQ+ filter (or others).
I can already use these 2 filters, but without a preliminary analysis of the spectrum I have to guess the frequency ranges. Of course the best solution would be to have a dynamic real time display, during audio playback... (BTW iTunes has something like that in the top center of the main window: it's just missing precision and details about frequency values, and dBs... - not really useful).
I found something close to my needs in Audacity: the problem is that it is not integrated with FCE and that it is a static display. Or at least this is what it seems to me... I might have missed something.
Does an audio frequency spectrum display exist in FCE HD, or in the bundled Soundtrack ?

Yes, the Fourier Spectrum Analysis is what I need, and Sound Studio is providing it. I'm trying to figure out how to make the best use of it. In fact I hope there is a way to display it in real time, so I can see the frequency picks moving. That would be very helpful.

Spectrum One CCD 3000 GPIB 488.2

I have a JobinYvon Spectrum ONE CCD 3000 and I am controlling it with LabVIEW 5.1 on windows 98. I can run the image acquisition vi but after it takes one image, it freezes the connection to the ccd controller. So if I try to rerun the vi, or any other vi communicating to the ccd, it doesn't work. Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem or has anyone come across it before? Is it a hardware or software problem.
I thought perhaps the vi's were causing a problem with the ccd because it is Liquid Nitrogen cooled and this is not meant to be done unless the ccd is initialized, but there is no way to just initialize the ccd with labview that I can see. Any thoughts?

The initialization of the camera has nothing to do with its cooling. The controller (the big box) has a heater circuit controlling the Temperature (Set to 140K).
There are manuals (1) and (2) which should help you understanding the init process.
Image acquisition (depending on the binning) takes with today's state of the art PCs and the desired (see manual 1) NI GPIB card up to 15 seconds with an integration time of 1000ms.
Sending malformed commands (slightly wrong syntax) can crash the controller easily. Therefore: Go to NI MAX, Open a VISA session with the controller and send a the string "\DE" without "\r".
It is what they call "\<222>" in the manual. This resets the controller to the so called boot-mode.
Actually, all the numbers you will see in the manual that are in those <> brackets should be converted to hex. \<222> will be \DE.
Please use 'Query' to send the command to get a immediate response.
You can probe the state of the controller sending a "\s" (whitespace, again without term(ination) char(acter)). It should reply with "B" for boot mode.
After initialization it will respond with "F". If you get a "b" this means that your command could not be identified. In order to bring the controller from Boot to Main send the command "O2000\00" (now with the term char \00 or \x00). After probing with "\s" you should get "F" now as a response.
Now, use the CCDInit.VI in the LIB\CCD_sup_llb directory and try to init the CCD or the Demo VIs in LIB\CCD_demo_llb. There, the CCD is being initialized before doing anything.
I attached the VIs to control the CCD. I suppose you are not working with that thing after 7 years but maybe somebody else does.

Power spectrum density question: One sided convert

I am using the PSD function. In order to get the RMS noise, I integrated the PSD data and doubled the result because I have two sides in positive frequency range and negative frequency range. Then my result is 1.414 (or Sqrt(2)) times higher than my RMS data measured in time domain.
Then I looked into the PSD fuction and found out that in the function of "Convert to on-sided spectrum", the amplitude was doubled. But it is not meantioned in the help file.
My thinking is: either change the help file of PSD function and mention that it is a doubled one-sided output or do not double the amplitude when convert the spectrum from two-sided to one-sided output.

I know sometimes the help can be hard to navigate, but I think I found the help documentation that address this issue. It can be found here: Power Spectrum.
Under the heading "Converting a Two-Sided Power Spectrum to a Single-Sided Power Spectrum", you can find the following:
"A two-sided power spectrum displays half the energy at the positive frequency and half the energy at the negative frequency. Therefore, to convert a two-sided spectrum to a single-sided spectrum, you discard the second half of the array and multiply every point except for DC by two, as shown in the following equations."
This is why you noticed that the block diagram of "Convert to One-Sided Spectrum" had the output doubled. I hope this helps clear up the issue.

I want to use a labview spectrum analyzer for 2.4GHz anylizer

I am trying to build a 2.4GHz antenna for a class reasearch project. and I want to use a labview Spectrum analizer to test it. But the boards we have in our lab only support frequencies of 2KHz. I was wondering if NI made a DAQ board that would support this frequency and exactly what is it.

The PXI-5660 and associated software (Spectral Measurements Toolkit, Modulation Toolkit) are very tightly integrated with LabVIEW. I might be unclear as to your situation, but I will look at this from two perspectives:
Hardware perspective:
If you are testing a 2.4 GHz antenna, if you wanted a digitizer to simply digitize the output of the antenna, it would have to run at a sampling rate of at least 4.8 GSamples/sec due to the Nyquist Sampling Theorem. Other options include placing an RF downconverter in front of a digitizer. The downconverter then shifts the signal of interest to a lower frequency, which also lowers the Nyquist ctiterion, allowing lower sampling rates to be used.
None of NI's DAQ boards can sample fast enough to captu
re RF signals, unless there is some form of signal conditioning on the front end, like a downconverter. The PXI-5660 RF Signal Analyzer uses this approach.
Software perspective:
Once the data is acquired, it can easily be analyzed with LabVIEW analysis VIs and with the new Modulation and Spectral Measurements Toolkits (both in LabVIEW). Regardless of how you acquire the data, LabVIEW can analyze it.

Integrating a frequency domain signal

I am trying to extract the response of a frequency dependent signal :
1. First, I use the SignalFFT vi to get into the frequency domain.
2. Then I plan to integrate the FFT signal around a certain frequency and take a ratio of that wrt to the integral over the entire frequency spectrum to get a measure of how strong the signal is around that frequency.
I am choosing a range of frequencies above because the physical phenomenon producing the time domain signal produces a certain lifetime width. I need a numerical integration VI that can do step 2 above. The numerical integration VI that I found in Labview (using ver. 7.1) integrates the whole signal, and there is no way to define limits between which the numerical integration should be carried out.
Any ideas ?

This has to do with the sample rate, when you adquire the signal, you get set of samples, that hava a sample rate, and when you do an FFT on those samples, every sample corresponds to frecuency bin (kinda of frecuency samples). Example:
If you get 100 samples at 1kHz, you will get a 100 windows, this is 100 samples to represent 1kHz, however, only the half of the spectrum is valid, because of the Nyquist teorem, so this mean that from 0 to 49, you have a correct representation, from 50 to 99 you have a reflection of the spectrum. So in the first 50 "frequency samples" you have 0-500Hz

I knew from the later PI Version, that there was an option to transfer SLD data to integration directory, but now I can't find it

Tools (or right-click in ID) --> Assign Business System --> follow the wizard...it will assign the business system from SLD to ID

OK, at least 3 is working.
I don't know how you have a Tape Recorder icon on your Home Screen. I cannot add one myself. But, I am running Holo Launcher in replacement of the default LG "Optimus" User Interface. It's much better in my opinion.
Try long pressing the icon and select Edit and maybe you can change some attribute of the icon.
Another thing you could do, is long-press an empty area of your desktop, to add an icon. Select Shortcut, then Select Contact, and scroll through your contact list and choose the contact that you added for *86.
You realize if you have voice mail you haven't heard, there is a tape recorder icon in the notification bar, which you touch and pull down, then press it to dial voicemail.
If that functionality doesn't work, you MIGHT want to consider doing a factory data reset on your device, but that is going to nuke all your personalizations and cause you work to set up again.

PreparedStatement doesn't offer methods for that. You can write your own implementation of PreparedStatement which wraps the originating PreparedStatement and saves the set* values and writes it to the toString().
If needed, myself I just print the sql as well as the values-being-set to the debug statement.Logger.debug(query + " " + values);

Can i use OER to store the data from a excel sheet that pertains to the entire integrations ?

i know that the OER can be used to view the entire landscape for the SOA composites and how they are related with each other. However we have a requirement wherein we need to store the data for the entire integration end systems e.g. ebiz, mfgpro, siebel etc ( that is we need to store data one level up).
Also, we want a customized form in OER wherein user can manually add data regarding the integrations.
So is it possible to do so ? If yes, how ?

ok, let me put it this way,
I tried using the import/export utility available under OER admin tab.
When i export my existing assets it generates the .xml file for each asset. Now as i have hundreds on new assets to be created for each asset type i want to be able to create a new .xml file and want it to create the new asset once i import it using import utility. I tried creating a new .xml file giving it a new UUID but it does not seem to work. Has anyone tried this earlier who can give the steps to do this ?
