Integration Visual Composer and BPM (netwearver CE7.11)

Hi Guys.
System: netwearver CE7.11
We have a problem with the process of integration between Visual Composer and BPM. We have found a message  |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2011e628-b317-2c10-9fa7-952155e10705] explaining the step by step to join my visual compeser with BPM.
The steps from guide(the guide includes a video) already have been implemented and the final result looks fine, but it is in this moment, when we want to create and deploy the BPM process with the result from guide(Web dynpro wrapp with the visual composer), when the error happens, the BPM process is created OK but not properly deployed.
Could anyone help us?, thank you in advanced.
The message error is:

Hi,
Is 'tcvcglx~bridgecomp' already deployed or part of the deployment? There is a deploy time dependency specified. Thus without this DC the other DC won't deploy.

  • Last Data Update in Visual Composer and Web App Designer

    Hello,
We want to show the last data update in query result and we used 2
differents ways to do it: throught Web Application Designer (SP 12) and
    Visual Composer (SP 10).
In query result of Web Application Designer, the last data update came
in GMT0 and in visual composer came ok (GMT - 3, that's our time zone).
This value (ROLLUPTIME) is taken out of the RSMDATASTATE table and this is used in SAPLRSMDATASTATE program, that is called by Web App Designer.
Why does the difference exist between: Web App Designer and Visual Composer for last data update?
So, I need more information how the Visual Composer brings the correct value (in our time zone) and Web App Designer in GMT0.
    Best Regards,
    Pablo Moraes

    Hi Mario,
Yes, i used the same user and the same query to access the information. But, how can i check the mapping from my VC user to the BI user?

  • Which one is the latest version of Visual Composer and where is available?

    Hi guys!
Can you answer me the question? Send pls also information, where it is available to download..
    Thanx!
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
Latest version of Visual Composer (Version 7.0, based on NetWeaver release NW04S) can be obtained from the SAP Service Marketplace (you will need a SAP customer ID for this).
    1. Visit service.sap.com
    2. Goto software download (ie.,--> https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/swdc)
    3. Download SAP NW04 SR1 VISUAL COMPOSER 6.0
The only other way of getting a trial version is to download the NW04S "Sneak Preview" edition from the SDN Downloads area and install it.Follow this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/77317c8d-0701-0010-f093-ed35a427f559">link</a>
Also check out this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/profile?userID=162382">thread</a> which gives steps to download VC and the documentation links and installation guides for the same.

  • Visual Composer and System

I am trying to use a Visual Composer on portal NW ’04.
The installation was successfully but I am not able to find the BAPI on the backend system, when I select the system and type BAPI as a search term I get the error message “failed to connect to backend system”, but I am sure about the system in the EP (because it works with several iView and I am sure also with the user mapping.
Someone knows if there is something special in the system definition?
    Thanks for the help
    g

I have exactly the same problem, I'm trying to connect to a R/3 4.6c system, it works fine in the portal but in VC I'm getting the same error message.
Alias and user mapping are ok.
I'd really appreciate if someone could give a clue.

  • Visual Composer and BI

    Hi,
I have worked on Visual Composer but not with BI system.
This time the requirement is to query data from BI system and display it in Visual Composer. The two options i could think of are as follows
    1. Using BI Kit - Which i dont know how to install in CE 7.1. Do we have any documentation on how to get this enviornment ready for this development ?
    2. Exposing Bex queries as Web Services - Which i am not sure is possible or not ? And also how much effort it will take if compared to the 1st approach.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ashutosh

    Hai ,

    BI XMLA Connector
    Use
Microsoft's XMLA (XML for Analysis) facilitates Web services-based, platform-independent access to OLAP providers. The BI XMLA Connector enables the exchange of analytical data between a client application and a data provider working over the Web, using a SOAP-based XML communication API. The XMLA Connector sends commands to an XMLA-compliant OLAP data source in order to retrieve the schema rowsets and obtain a result set.
The BI XMLA Connector allows you to connect applications built with the BI Java SDK to data sources such as Microsoft Analysis Services, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, MIS, and BW 3.x. This connector is fully compliant with the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA).
You can also use the BI XMLA Connector to make these data sources available in SAP BI Systems via UD Connect, or you can create systems in the portal based on this connector.
The BI XMLA Connector implements the BI Java SDK's IBIOlap interface.
    Prerequisites
XMLA-compliant OLAP data sources, such as SAP BI (BW) system release 3.0A or greater
    Connector Properties
Refer to the table below for the required and optional properties to configure for your connector:
    BI XMLA Connector Properties
    Property     Description     Examples
    UserName     Data source user name.
User must have at least read access to the data source.     (your user name)
Password     Data source password.     (your password)

  • Visual Composer and Pocket PC

    Hi forum,
we have just try to develop a nice model with a bapi for sales order list. We have just deply it and it works fine in Windows PC with IE or Mozzilla.
We have also try with a Microsoft Pocket PC device (Windows Pocket PC 2003 ver 4.21.1088 in EN Language). Into this device we have already installed Adobe Flash Player 8.0.
We try in Pocket PC but...
"I-View is not compatible with your browser, opereting system or device"
    (or something like that)
Does SAP support Pocket PC (or other mobile device) with Visual Composer ?
    - I think no
    Other way ? ... Web SAPconsole ? WebDympro ? other ?
    Regards.
    Ganimede Dignan.

At least, you can check if the flash file works. Open the iView on an usual PC, right click the iView, open the source code and search for an HTML Tag "Object". in its property "data", you will find the URL for your flash. This URL you can use on your mobile device to access the flash application.
If you want to use your flash application without portal, you can do it this way. But if you can use the Portal or anything in an iView on a mobile device, i don't know.
    Best regards,
    Christian

  • Visual Composer and BI Consumer Services questions

    Hi experts,
Does anybody know if, with VC 7.1 EhP1, it is possible to use the BICS service on a separate BI java instance? The reason I am asking is that we have the following systems:
    BI (ABAP) 7.0 EhP1
    BI (java) 7.0 EhP1
    CE 7.1 EhP1
and most probably, both BI java & ABAP systems will evolve together at a different pace than de CE system. With that in mind, maybe it is recommanded to use the BICS services hosted on the BI java instead of CE.
If you have any opinions or recommandations on the subject, I will be more than happy to hear about them.
    Nathalie

    Hey Grace,
It is very much possible... to access BI Java (7.0 ehp1) you create a system in your CE 7.1 portal (system administration) and in query wizard of VC select this system... In this way you can access all queries of BI in VC CE 7.1.
to access BI ABAP system... you can create RFC destinations in your CE -> netweaver administration -> RFC destinations / Jco destinations.
we are also following same landscape.... let me know if you have anymore questions...

  • BPM TOOL, what is Visual Composer Vs  any other BPM Tool

Could you please share information regarding using a modeling tool to author business process [as-is/to-be]
ours is new implemantation and we already own sap business suite software, and our implementation /configuration Team is considering of using a bpm tool to do capture the processes.
my question is what leverage can we take of Visual Composer ? when compared with other BPM Tool.

If you have license for SAP Suite, then there is lot of things you can leverage with VC than it being useless if otherwise.
    1. You can combine the output from the quick design and code free modeling environment of Visual Composer with the output from a full coding environment like Web Dynpro ABAP or BSP? Actually you can do just such a thing thanks to Portal Eventing. You can trigger event from VC. Yes, you can combine ABAP and VC
    2. You can extend Visual Composer through Web Services
    3. You can do an MDM integration in VC - combining data from varied sources
    4. You can build a Web Services Based Visual Composer Application. Visual Composer has the capability to easily link to and consume a web service from within the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer storyboard.
Also, if you are using BSP, these applications can be linked  into a Visual Composer application. The linking is done via portal eventing. Linking these two technologies into a single application with receiving and parsing the Visual Composer event string from within ABAP.
    5. SAP has released 300+ Enterprise Services and there are many ways to consume these. A BPX can use Visual Composer and the Composite Application Framework (CAF) to consume SAP Enterprise Services using MDD - Model drived development.
    6. SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer users can develop rich graphical interfaces that extend current investments in their SAP NetWeaver infrastructure by using Flex technology (colloboration with Macromdeia) , and businesses can gain credible, clear and comprehensive business insights through new analytics solutions. There are 100+ IS specific Analytic Applications.
With the new improvements in VC 7.0 it is very clear that the future benefits align and will be much more leveraged with Visual composer
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • Integrating Adobe Flex in Visual Composer

    Hi,
I want to display a list in a tree structure and based on what was chosen on the structure, a detailed information of the item is displayed in a separate window.  If you can imagine:  left hand side is the tree structure and on the right is the detailed information.
I'm going to use Visual Composer to show the detail information and I did some research and it seems there's no way to set up so that a tree structure is shown if I use Visual Composer.  So, now I'm thinking of using Adobe Flex for doing that.
My problem is now understanding how I can incorporate Adobe Flex during the design in Visual Composer and use eventing to pass on the information on what the user chose to the BAPI that will show the detailed information.  I also found out that the Flex Server should be configured in the Visual Composer.  Can anyone advice?
Also, does anyone know if modeling tree structure in Visual Composer is possible?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
You can do this by first embedding Flex into a Web Dynpro application and then consuming this WebDynpro application in a VC model.
    Here are some resources:
    1. Embedding a Flash island in a WD application:

    2. Consuming a WebDynpro component in a VC model:

  • Visual Composer 7.0 roadmap

    Hello experts,
We have NetWeaver EP 7.0 installed with Visual Composer in our C&B and DEV environment. We haven't started developing with it yet.
    My questions to you is:
What is the future of Visual Composer 7.0?
My understanding is that SAP has put a lot of energy integrating Visual Composer into CE 7.1. This new version has significant changes compare to it's predecessor. Visual Composer for CE 7.1 seems to be the way to go if one needs to create applications based on existing data services. In short terms, both versions will coexist. Bbut in long terms...?
Can anyone help me find the Visual Composer roadmap?
Thanks a lot for your help,
    Nathalie

    Hi,
This is a quote from the Visual Composer main page on SDN: (/people/jarrod.williams/blog/2009/09/14/whats-new-in-visual-composer)
    "_Visual Composer 7.0_
In light of the progress made relating to parity between Visual Composer 7.0 and Visual Composer CE, our investment in Visual Composer 7.0 will be limited to maintenance after the release of enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0. We are confident that with the provisions made for migration to Visual Composer 7.1 enhancement package 1 or Visual Composer 7.2 and the great feature set in Visual Composer for enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0, our existing customers running Visual Composer 7.0 will enjoy the best of both worlds: the option to upgrade to Visual Composer 7.2 or to stay with the latest release of Visual Composer 7.0."
I'll stress the last part, though VC on CE is a great version, staying with the latest release of Visual Composer 7.0 is also good, depending on your needs of course, for instance - the attractive Flash runtime which is currently exclisive for VC 7.0, the "Flash Components" feature that was entered on SP5 of 7.01 (and in 7.02) , which enables you to consume custom 3rd party flash components or Xcelsius controls inside Visual Composer,, which makes flash black-boxes easier to consume than in CE, .. etc..
still - VC on CE of course has it's own advantages - the ability to consume clustered services, life-cycle management, it's intergration with the other CE components etc..
and so if you'll find that VC 7.0 is not enough, you could always upgrade and migrate to the CE versions (7.1 or 7.2).
bottom line - it's a win win situation.

  • Tree in Visual Composer WebView

    Hi All,
Is it possible to create a tree in VC Webview? I know this can be done in VC in NWDS. However, I believe this is not possible in the webview since I have not seen any integration with webdynpro components in webview. I am forced to use webview since I have to work on some BI data sources.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ritesh

    Hi Kirun,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am using the Webview of Visual composer and not using the integrated feature of VC in NWDS. I am using the webview since some of the BI data sources that I am using is available only in webview and not in the NWDS integrated VC.
In Webview, I do not see any feature wherein I can build a tree. Can you please help?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ritesh

  • Data Source CE in Visual Composer

    Hello Experts,
we are running on CE 7.2.
I wanted to read BPM  task details into a custom application or generate a report of who has claimed the task, currently being processed by whom  and the history of this information relating to every task in uwl.
I know that CE 7.3 offers BPM API's using which thiscan be accomplished.
However I have also read that Visual Composer can provide this solution.
    I have the following queries:
1)what data source should be selectedif i choose to go with vc
jdbc BI template?  or BI....we do not have a Bw system in our landscape and our datasource is portal DB.
2)Does that mean BI usage type will  have to be installed alongwith BI jdbc connector..
3)what would be a more feasible solution ...upgrading  to 7.3 or installing the BI component. ( we need to perform only reporting activity as to with whom the task is currently pending  and ho had processed it in the past)

    Hello Jun,
Thanks for the reply, however i still have some queries.
1)I could not find the standard BPM datasource in the dropdown of select providers.
I therefore selected BI Data sources even though we do not have a BW system .
2)I  tried selecting  standard BPM tables to fetch the data.
viz; BPM_MYTASKS_DS..I want to know if there is any standard table which stores information about who had and who is currently proceesing tasks , if yes can you please provide the name of table  or how can i make it available in visual composer's  "search for table" field while creating new model.
3)we are also trying to upgrade to 7.3
Now BPM & CE are on same instance.
Can only BPM 7.2 be upgraded to BPM 7.3 instead of entire CE portal from 7.2 to 7.3?
4)Also i read somewhere that it would be an entire upgrade to netweaver 7.3 and in usage type we will have to select the usage type of what we want to upgrade like CAF to 7.3, BPM to 7.3 and so and and so forth. Is this right?
5)Can also you please let me know in which situation we should use visual composer and when BPM  api is suitable?
    Thanks

  • Three questions about visual composer?

    Hi all,
    1. what is the relationship between "visual composer and "visual composer BI kit"? what else elements do we need to add on top of visual composer in order to make visual composer BI kit?
    2. If we only do visual composer, the only thing we can't accomplish is the BI query wizard in visual compuser menu, right?
    3. After creating backend SAP BW system connection via BI JAVA CONNECTOR, why do we still need to create backend SAP BW system connection via SAP BI CONNECTOR?
I went through Scott Cairncross' PDF file "Know how network call SAP Visual Composer & BI kit" and have the three questions above.
    George

ad 1) BI Kit is a kind of plugin to VC (like the plugins in Eclipse). Today VC and BI Kit are shipped together. Once you have VC, you also have the BI Kit.
    ad 2) BI Kit offers:
    - connectivity to JDBC, ODBO, XMLA, SAP Query and SAP BI directly
    - BI Integration Wizard (to create models in a wizard style)
    - MDX, SQL Editors
ad 3) The "direct" BI connection uses RFC-calls to BI and offers you more features, like Variables, Queries, query-views, infoobjects, favourites, history, URL port, etc. You can also connect to a SAP BI system via the XMLA-connector. A relational connector (like it is done in the portal) would only give you access to masterdata (infoobjects), but not infocube data.
