Intel 7260 compatibility before buying a new Envy laptop

Does anyone know if the new envy 17t or 15t laptops with i7 processors are compatible with the intel 7260 ac wireless card or are the new laptops still whitelisted? Looking for laptop that is able to use this card.

The current Envy 17t and 15t models have no BIOS whitelist so you can add an ac card with no issues.

I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money?
Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound?
Will I need adaptors and an interface?
Also, I am guessing as Logic only runs on MAC surely then they would not the best spec to recommend to run it?
I see all the upgrades as additional memory or a faster process?
Is a retina screen necessary, and why flash based storage against a 1TB hard drive, and a i5 instead of an i7
The main reason for this purchase is to play live and use backing tracks and record found sounds and make creative songs.
I hope you can provide some valuable feedback, as I am a longtime MAC user and see upgrades and changes happen regularly but the most important thing is the songs not the equipment.
I have £500 already and willing to add another 500 to 700 pounds, then software extra.

  • Need Photoshop advice before buying a new computer

    Hi Folks ....
My computer is 6 years old.  I'm starting to get the "blue screen of death" periodically so I am buying a new computer.
    I currently own Photoshop CS2.
    Here are my options.
I can buy a new computer and make sure I have Windows 7 Ultimate so I can use CS2 on it (in XP mode).
Or I can buy a new computer without Windows 7 Ultimate and upgrade to CS5.
My real question is, when I buy a new computer, is it okay for it to have integrated graphics?
Will Photoshop run okay on ingrated graphics, or should a buy a machine that comes with a graphics card installed?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards and many thanks,
    Mark

That's ggod news that I can run CS2 on Windows 7.
Yes, it will be a desktop PC so I will make sure I configure my new PC with a graphics card.
    Thank you.

  • I want to buy a new Sony laptop computer

I have 1,600 songs on iTunes, some bought on iTunes others imported from my CD collection but all are backed up on CD-R discs. I want to buy a new computer and transfer all these songs to it. Should I open a new iTune account in a new name and import them one at a time, or what? Unfortunately I am not a computer person who can do complicated things on my laptop!!!!!!!!!!!! So please keep it simple. Very many thanks.

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one. Take a look here:

  • If i have a macbook pro from 2008 should i buy a new apple laptop?

I need help should i buy a new laptop or should i just stick with my apple macbook from 2008?

if you're happy with your Mac, and it's running like it should, keep using it.
On the other hand, the new Mac OS X Mavericks is due out sometime this fall. If you're thinking of a new Mac you may want to wait until you can purchase one with Mavericks pre installed.

  • New Envy Laptop 05/01/2015 saying the Windows I'm using is invalid for activation

I've only had this Laptop for two days I've already had to do a recovery
And now it's telling me that
The Windows product key you typed is invalid for activation
Buy a new product key online
    Type a different product key
Contact Microsoft to help resolve this problem
I've already phoned HP that was a wast of time so i will not be doing that again.
First I have never typed in any product key for any software I also have powerDVD telling me that it
can only run on authorized hardware.
Am I best to call my bank and start a Chargeback or to keep trying HP in hope of getting a product key
to use the £500+ laptop I just got of them.
I only have two days left till this laptop is useless on that day it will be sent back for a full refund
(if they like it or not)

  • New Envy laptop, color seems off and very ugly

Hello, I just got a new Envy 17t Touchscreen. The new style of it, that comes with the B&O Audio.  It is so beautiful. However the color is just beyond ugly. The computer takes on a brown hue across the whole screen. I've tried to find the RGB values but I think they are all 255. As when I was looking into the subject that might have been the case that one of the values was lowered. I went through the Windows recalibration tool but didn't change anything. Below are some pictures. This picture shows a plain white. The newer one (left) has the tint to it while the right (older model) has a bright and clear white. The brightness is set to max on both computers. And no, it's not my camera that's making them look different. It appears just as it does in the picture. Picture number two has a picture with color in it. It should look like a blue. While the newer one looks blue green and looks terrible in my opinon.  Does anyone else have the newer model and can confirm this is how it looks for them? Is this a touchscreen thing? Or do I need to edit the settings? Thanks

Hi I am having the same problem with my new 17 inch smarttouch HP envy, it took me a while to understand what is going wrong with my ENVY the cause of color distorsion is a defective hardware ( video cable) in the articulation of the screen here you a link to youtube with the same problem the solution posted by many mine is there in a comment posted by qaisalhajji https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kybH1iJhDdQ&index=21&list=WL  please give me ur feedback

  • Breaking the trend : help before buying...

    Hey guys,
I am so glad that I decided to do some reading up before buying my new computer.
It is my first upgrade in years, and last time I just bought a package and never put it together myself. So yes, I am a newbie, tho I have spent awhile reading up stuff on the net regarding what I want.
I live in Hong Kong, so certain brands availble to you lot are not availble to me.
However, I have decided to get the K7N2 Delta-L. One reason - it looks fantastic. Another reason - the price is very good and acceptable to me. There are many who say this board is great, other saying it is a loss cause. I am willing to take my chances here.
    Anyways, I should stop talking.
Here are the specs I have planned to buy next week.
    MSI K7N2-L Delta
    Corsair TwinX CMX512-3200LL (256 X 2)
    Western Digital  80GB / 7200rpm /UDMA100
    SamSung CDRW522452 Internal  52x / 24x / 52x  (8mb)
    SamSung DVD-ROM 16X
    Aero 7+ (CPU FAN)
    ATHLON XP 1700+ (0.13) (TRAY) SOCKET-A / 1467MHz / 256KB (Already bought)
Sapphire ATI 9700 pro (Already bought)
So the main problem that I have after readin this board is the ram. I am totally confused. Some people say a certain memory works, some say it doesn't. Now I am willing to shell out the bucks, but I just don't want a nightmare after I buy the stuff. I don't think I'll handle the computer rage very well.
Oh and another thing, I don't have all the brands availble to me here like I said earlier. However, the company that I am gonna buy it from has a webpage to state thier products.
Herez a link to their ram section
    http://www.jumbo-computer.com/ram_c.asp
Well, I am really hoping that the tech greats here could give me a hand and guide me through this buying process. And perhaps even enlighten me on any faults or incompatibilities I may have in my specs. Thanks alot!
    Your words are wisdom.
    Inkubus

hmm, yeh, I plan to buy Audigy 2 probably a couple of months down when I have some more cash. Plus I asked around and we don't get the ILSR model here. SUX Eh?
But is there something horrible wrong with the k7n2 delta-L's onboard audio??
As for the PSU, I plan to use the one that will come with my new case, till I get money to buy an Enermax or something along those lines..
My case is going to be an ICute model and it comes with a GTR model 350 watts PSU. Those brands probably mean nothing to you as they are Hong Kong based.
Herez a pic of my case (just for amusement)

    Thanx for your reply.

  • Shall I buy a new imac sometime?

I have one of the 2006 imac's that had a problem with the vertical.  That is fixed now and I am minus 600 dollars.  But at least it works.
Because of the new Mountain Lion operating system and because the Tiger I have on this one will not take the newer browsers and newer software, I am considering at some point getting a new iMac.  But I was wondering if Apple has made the screens on the new 2012 iMac's  so they do not have that problem with the screens.

Keeps coming up, those vertical lines.  One more problem Apple have failed to solve.
I think you should wait before buying the new iMac.  In fact if you must have a new machine i would advise buying the recent one or at least let the new one bed down and prove itself via the experience of others.
Even Mountain Lion has not received general plaudits, it has almost a resigned acceptance.   Wait and see, Gloria.

  • Buying a new T400s

    Hi,
I'm interested to buy a new customize Lenovo Thinkpad T400s (2801CTO model). The problem is that I need an online store who can ship this T400s to a PO Box. Unfortunately Lenovo USA don't ship to PO Box.
Does anyone knows or can recommend me a reliable re-seller in USA which i can contact in order to get this new customize laptop? Or any other way to buy this new customize laptop?
    Please help!!!!!!
    BR.

Upgrade RAM yourself through macsales.com for $60.  Use the remaining $140 of Apple's mmeory price and upgrade for $150 to hi-res (1680x1050) and anti-glare.  I never regretted that upgrade on mine.
    My humble opinion.
Sorry ... I just did the math and that puts you $10 out of pocket ...

    TIA

so, once i have moved the office to mac OS i basically have to buy mac computers from here on out? or is there some way to buy something else?
i am uber unhappy with the laptop i have now and i cannot see dropping 2500 on a new top of the line without hearing some major, major, major endorsements on these machines as it relates to battery power and no hangs and reasonable wake from sleep times etc.

  • Want to make a USB Win 8.1 backup just in case my Envy laptop model M6-k125DX HD fails

    Hi
I just purchased my new Envy laptop  M6-k125DX which has the recovery on the HD. This laptop doesn't have a DVD or CD and it says I can make a Win 8.1 install USB for the laptop.
My question is has anyone done this before?
What size USB thumb drive is needed. I suspect a 3.0 version.
I have read most the the online manuals but it doesn't say how big it has to be for the OS.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Please see HP PCs - Creating a Recovery Image on Discs or Saving a Recovery Image to a USB Flash Drive (Windows... for instructions on creating a USB Recovery Flash Drive.
    1) Use a blank, high-quality USB flash drive no greater than 32GB and one that is NOT branded as Windows 8 compatible.
    2) The recovery image creation software allows only one recovery image to be created. If you created a recovery image on other media, you can not create a recovery image on a USB drive.
    3) The recovery image creation software requires an uncorrupted recovery partition (FACTORY_IMAGE D.
    4) Uncorrupted means that the recovery partition has not been modified or removed.
    5) The recovery image creation process takes about 30 minutes.
I have successfully created a half-a-dozen recovery USB Recovery Flash Drives using USB 2.0 32GB Patriot Axle Flash Drives... they work like a champ. It is most likely best to use USB 2.0 Flash Drives that aren't listed as Windows 8 compatible, however many USB 3.0 Flash Drive should also work. You may just have to try a few.

will Toshiba release a new gaming latop anytime soon? I heard about the new 3D laptop but i don't want a 3D laptop at least now!

  • Needing to check compatibility of a MicroSD card with my Stream Notebook before buying card

Would a SanDisk Ultra 16GB UHS-I/Class 10 Micro SDHC Memory Card be compatible with an HP Stream Notebook - 11-d010wm (ENERGY STAR)?  I already have a couple of Micro SD cards, but they're older and not being acknowledged when I put them in the card reader slot, so I guess they're not compatible.  I'm looking to buy a new SD card, but don't want to run into the same issue, so want to verify compatibility before purchasing...any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi.  This computer is new - I just got it last week - and as far as I know, everything seems to work well on it.  When I put my two old micro SD cards in, though, nothing happens at all.  I did try them in a different laptop, as well, and they weren't acknowledged there, either.  But both cards, although older, have never been used in a computer before, I've only ever used them in my phone.  I would think that at least one of them would work in at least one of my laptops...I don't know why neither of them is working in either laptop, but it doesn't really matter, because the size on them is too small for what I need for this computer anyway - they're only 8GB and I need a minimum of 16GB and preferably more - so I just want to buy a new, larger size card.  I'm just concerned about running into the same problem yet again.   I tried to do a little researching on the internet, but the best I came up with is that not all cards are compatible with all OS, which could explain why the older cards don't work, but doesn't help with any specifics on what type of new card would work.   But from what you know, the Stream should accept pretty much any SD card?
