Intel and Nvidia graphics - set which one support choosen game.

Hello,
On some game forum one guy tell me i can set which one - intel or nvidia graphics support my choosen game, cuz i have intel processor and intel motherboard but also i have nvidia geforce 550ti graphics card, and my question is: Can i choose what graphics intel or nvidia support my choosen game ?

x_user wrote:Yes i have  xf86-video-nouveau and mesa-libgl but performance for game what require only GeForce FX series is really bad, but maybe that model of graphics card is not best for open drivers, maybe this is the point.
There's no reclocking for this card currently.
Nouveau runs it locked at 405 MHz GPU clock, 648 MHz memory clock, 810 MHz processor clock.
Nvidia can run it at 3 perf levels:
GPU Clock    Memory Clock    Processor Clock
0    50 MHz          270 MHz             101 MHz
1    405 MHz        648 MHz             810 MHz
2    900 MHz      4104 MHz           1800 MHz

  • HP Envy 15 Graphics Problem with Windows 8.1 (Intel and NVidia Graphics). Help!

I bought an HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j013ea about 6 months ago and I have had a major problem with the graphics that I cannot seem to solve. I think it started when I updated to Windows 8.1, even though I am not 100% certain.
I have noticed the following three problems, and I think they are related:
Some windows (such as Chrome, Skype, or even Device Manager or other windows) are very blurry compared to others.
The firefox menu window has some deformed black arrows instead of the normal ones.
When playing a game (specifically, Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2), after a while I get an error that the computer has ran out of memory. However, according to task manager, only about 50% is in use, not to mention that I have 8 GB of RAM + 2 GB graphics memory. At the same time, the computer gets rather loud (like a fan working overtime) and hot.
The laptop has both Intel and NVidia graphics, and both are enabled in Device Manager. To be honest, I have no idea which is used when, or how to check that (let me know if there is a way)
I have tried the following without success:
Uninstalling the Intel graphics driver from device manager and installing a version I downloaded from the HP website for my laptop and OS. After that, Windows would NOT BOOT, and I had to do a system restore.
Uninstalling the Intel graphics from Programs and Features, and installing 2 different versions from the Intel website. Nothing changed.
Updating Nvidia driver through GeForce Experience. Nothing changed.
Updating Intel drivers from Windows Update. Nothing changed.
Quite frankly I am not sure what the problem could be, since the graphics versions are supposed to be compatible with WIndows 8.1. I also don't get why some windows are blurry and others are not. I am thinking the computer uses only the Intel graphics and not the Nvidia (at least in the blurry windows), but even if that was the case (and it shouldn't be), I don't think I should be having this problem.
At this point, I really need help. My graphics details are:
Intel HD Graphics 4600: Driver version: 10.18.10.3412
NVidia GeForce GT 740M: Driver version: 335.23
    NVidia GeForce Experience version: 1.8.2
I am attaching screenshots that show driver details and the problems.
    Thank you.
    Blurry Chrome:
    Firefox menu problem:
Device Manager and driver windows are also blurry, both graphics are shown

I had a similar problem with a Dell laptop.  I found the problem was the laptop wanted to switch between the Intel and NYIDIA video cards.  It would switch to the Intel when high graphics was not required then to the NIVIDIA when high graphics was required.  The laptop does this to save power when high graphics is not required but it caused problems with some applications, specifically high graphics games.
For me the solution was to disable the Intel graphics processor.  You can do this by right clicking on your Wallpaper, select the NIVIDIA Control Panel, then select Set Physx Configuration.  You will see a dropdown box labeled Select Physx Processor.  It is set to Auto by default.  This allows the switching I described. Select this dropdown box and select your NIVIDIA processor.  This will prevent the laptop from switching and force it to use your NVIDIA processor exclusively.
    Hope this helps.

  • Intel and nVidia at the same time, with OpenGL

    Hi all,
I'd like to set up a multi-seat Xorg config, with the onboard Intel video powering three monitors connected to that card, and an nVidia card powering two monitors connected to it.
This seems straightforward enough to configure in the Xorg config which I have done, but when the time comes to install the "nvidia" package, it conflicts with the Intel driver.  Specifically I can't have mesa-libgl (Intel) and nvidia-libgl installed at the same time.
I guess this is fair enough as they both want to become the default GL driver, but in my case the actual GL driver will depend on which seat is being used - sitting at the Intel monitors the GL driver should be Intel, and sitting at the nVidia monitors it should be the nvidia GL driver.
Is there a way to install both drivers at the same time, and specify which libGL to use by e.g. changing the library search path?
I have looked at Bumblebee but it seems aimed at duplicating displays across to the other video card, whereas I want the displays to appear on directly attached hardware.

    Short answer: No.
Long answer: Arch wiki NVIDIA (replace nouveau with the intel driver package).
They do not work at the same time, however.

  • Session method and call transaction methos which one is the sap recomonded

    hi
PLease give me the answer to these questions.
session method and call transaction methos which one is the sap recomonded why .
    2) if we want to maintain BDC program in all the systems.wt to d0

    Hi Revethi,
Here is the difference between the Session and Call Transaction method.
         Session
Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
    2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
    3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
    4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
    5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
    6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
in bdc we use FM ... bdc_open_group " for creating Session
bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
    bdc_close_group " for closing Session
          Call Transaction
Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
    2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
    3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
    4) it doesn't support background processing.
    5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
    Syntax:
    Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA
    mode <A/N/E> update <L/A/S>
    messages into BDCMSGCOLL.

  • X3100&NVS140M graphic card, which one can take more quickly in ultiboard Show 3D?

anyone can tell me,X3100&NVS140M graphic card, which one render speed more quickly,in ultiboard show 3D?
Actual,I used nvs140m graphic card more slowly than x3100 graphic card obviously. It's right or not?

I don't think anyone will be able to definitely tell you that one particular graphics card will be better than the other. There are just too many factors. The only way to tell would be to test over and over, and even then, you may not get consistent results.

  • I have a budget of $2,200 and I don't know what to buy; The MacBook Pro 15 inch for $2,199 or the MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display for $2,199. I LOVE playing games but I don't know which one would play games faster.Take note that I wont upgrade anything.

The MBP w/ Retina Display is 2.3GHz but the other without Retina Display is 2.6GHz. So I don't know which one would play games absolutely flawlessly. I wont have the screen resolution so high on the games though. So can someone reply and tell me which one I should get and why?

Mac's are generally not 3D gaming computers and laptops especially are not because 3D games require a upgraded video card to take advantage of newer games and more feature rich updates.
Only the Mac Pro can one change the video card, if one can find a upgrade for it.
If you really love 3D gaming, a Windows 7 3D gaming tower is your machine.
    http://www.cbscores.com/index.php?sort=ogl&order=desc
3D gaming on a Mac is sort of a second hobby, it's rather short lived as one can't replace the video card once a year, only with a new machine purchase.
Most 3D games are for Windows anyway and Apple almost demands OS X be upgraded to newer verisons annually now, so that sort of throws a monkey wrench into a Mac gaming rig with software upgrades and all. On the other hand Windows 7 is supported for a decade.
Mac's just don't work well with 3D gaming, perhaps a Win 7 tower and a iPad or something.

  • Apple MacBook Air 11 inch, 13 inch, or Dell XPS 14 with i7 and nvidia graphics card?

I am a college student looking for either a MacBook Air 11 inch or a MacBook Air 13 inch. I was looking at the Dell XPS 14 with i7 processor and nvidia graphics card. It is similar in price to an Apple MacBook Air 11 inch. I will mainly use the laptop for browsing, a bit of Minecraft, watching videos (netflix/downloading movies), presentations, and documents. I would also need it to be lightweight because I will be carrying it around campus. I cannot choose between these three.....any ideas? I have an iPhone 5 and iPad with retina display (that is what I use currently and it is not working out). I just saw the WWDC14 and I saw how all my devices could connect to the Mac flawlessly.
    Please let me know,
    Thanks

I recommend the macbook 13" retina. Yes, it is expensive, but if you pair it with 8GB of memory, you should be futureproof for the next 5 years minimum. Why not the air.
Currently the air sports thunderbolt 1, This is super outdated. Macbook pro has thunderbolt 2 which allows you to daisy chain monitors via display port 1.2. Macbook Air sports display port 1.1a which only allows daisy chaining amoungst thunderbolt monitors which are expensive. $1000 minimum per a monitor where as you could pickup a daisy chainable displayport 1.2 dell monitor for $200. The only reason I am severely regretting my 13" Air.
The screen, yes, in a few years all screens will sport retina resolutions. It makes a big difference when reading and typing for long periods of time. Text is more clear. Also, 11" is way too small. If you want something that small, get an Ipad Air.
Battery life, 9 hours should still be enough to get you through the day. I go to school and I could only top out at 7 hours usage at most.
Gaming, Although I dont recommend gaming on any laptop because laptops aren't meant so much for gaming. Mostly because the heat generated from it kills the life of your laptop. It is up to 20% faster than the air.
Weight, half a pound off the 13" AIR is not a big deal. Actually the retina is smaller in height and width, so better center of balance when using it on your lap and the black bezel is less distracting.
Processor, its 10% faster in overall processing speeds generally.
Dont forget to purchase 2 year extended warranty. Buy that from bhphoto for 180 bucks. No tax and its way cheaper than apple.
If you still want the air after that, consider getting the 13". It comes with sd card slot, it is handy when you run out of space. And its 10% faster than the 11" even though they have the same processor. The processor's performance is based on the thermal threshold of the computer. The hotter it gets, the slower the computer gets to cool the processor down.
If you choose the Macbook Pro 13" RETINA(Not the $999 version with the DVD Drive), if you can, wait till late october when they update the computer with better hardware. Well... if you can.

If your budget is unlimited, look at both the retina and non-retina and make a decision based on your preferences.  If funds are tight, explore the options in the refurbished section.  Unless you are dealing with courses that demand specific performance parameters, any one of these options will suffice.

  • T series and P series CPUs, which one to go with.

    Hi there.
I am just wondering what are benefits of P series CPUs over T series one, for example:
     Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) 25W
     Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2)
The above names are from T400 customization page, from my level of experience and knowledge, the second one should be far superior in term of performance, because it has 6 MB of cache and Also 9400 looks higher than 8600. The only benefits of the first item looks to be its level of energy usage.
    Am I correct?
    Thanks.

    Tim,
Is JDeveloper Java EE 5/EJB 3.0 ready? EJB 3.0 seems ok, but I tried creating a JSF Page, and I could only create one in Java EE 1.4 (JDeveloper version 10.1.3.2.0)
JSF support works in Java EE 1.4 and Java EE 5. However, JDeveloper uses JSF 1.1, not JSF 1.2 - which is what we support in JDeveloper 11. In regards to your requirement to create charts, ADF Faces does provide data visualization components in JDeveloper 11 - which currently is in developer preview and freely available on OTN. In JDeveloper 10.1.3 there are no graph components in ADF Faces.
Since you want to use NetBeans and ADF doesn't work within this IDE I suggest you to have a look at Trinidad. Trinidad is an open source JSF component set originated from the ADF Faces code. Trinidad also has charting capabilities
    http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/index.html
In JDeveloper 11, Trinidad is integrated within the JDeveloper IDE for declarative development with ADF. Not sure though if you find the same level of EJB /JPA support in Netbeans as you do in JDeveloper. However, you pick.

  • RADEON X1650 vs nvidia GT8500. Which one to buy?

    Hi,
Im planning to build a new computer. I found these two cards, but im not sure which one is better to buy. I mean, will ati open source drivers work on x1650? And how about nvidia, is its closed source driver good? The reason why i cant choose, is that i dont know which ones driver will work better. I currently have computer with radeon 9600 and ati open source driver works with no problems, but maybe nvidia drivers will work even better than ati's?
I dont play games at all, so the performance difference is not very important, i just need compiz or kwin eyecandy which would work with no lag. Also how about kde4 performance with nvidia? Mine radeon 9600 works very fast with kde4, and i saw some people who have problems with nvidia and slow kde4.
Also, i chose motherboard foxconn Foxconn A690GM2MA-RS2H and amd athlon 64 x2 6000+. Will this motherboard work with this cpu and will it be fully compatible with linux?
    Thank you
    EDIT: fixed the motherboard type

For now, just go with Nvidia. You won't regret it.
I've just recently switched to Nvidia from an ATI card (an X700), and after almost 2 years of suffering with poor quality of the ATI driver and waiting for the ATI open/close source driver to mature, it's really an eye opener. The quality of Nvidia driver is very, very good (especially compared to that of ATI). In short, the Nvidia card just work (and work very well) with Linux and provides additional features such as twinview or VDPAU, while with ATI you only get a "mostly" working driver (no/poor 3D support, for example), which is really sad when you see your ATI card that can play Half Life 2 on Windows just fine is struggling hard just to render Nexuiz/Google Earth because of poor driver support.
Sure, the ATI open source driver is rapidly improving, but to be honest, it wasn't quite ready yet to justify buying an ATI card right now. Just look at the news item on the problem with new kernel and ATI KMS. If I were you, I would just go with the card that have a working driver right now, instead of buying a card that required me to wait for a driver to mature in order to use full performance of the card.

  • GPU acceleration fix for Dell Intel and Nvidia chipsets with external monitor?

I have a Dell XPS laptop with both integrated Intel chips and Nvidia chips and I can only get the GPU acceleration to work when I don't have any external monitors plugged in.
Is there some way I can get Illustrator to enable the Nvidia GPU and stop being confused by multiple chipsets on external monitors? I really like the live zoom.

    same problem here,
'm getting a little frustrated trying to get my laptop working with my LG DLP 3D ready projector to display in 3D. The projector itself will work in 3D as long as the resolution is 1024x768@120hz and the laptop's NVidia GTX 770M should have no issues driving the projector with this resolution.
Where it seems like the problems occur is Intel HD 4600 graphics driver gets in the way every time i try to run anything 3D, the software Im using to run any 3D type files do not recognize the projector as a 3D capable device because all the laptop is using is the Intel HD 4600 graphics.
If I could somehow turn off the Intel graphics and just force the laptop to just use the NVidia card I think all my issues will go away. I just am not having success in doing this.
I have tried to go into the NVidia control panel and under 3D settings pick the software program that runs my 3D files and tell it to use the NVidia card...but it never works.
I think everything is sent through the Intel graphics card regardless if the laptop is using the NVidia card (just guessing here)?
I also tried to simply uninstall the drivers but that did not work,
I also tried to disable the Intel graphics but it then went into some type of generic display driver mode and still would not work.
I also went into the BIOS to look for any settings that would allow me to disable the Intel graphics card ..no luck, could not find any settings for this.
Can someone help me with this? how can I disable the Intel graphics and force the laptop to just use the NVidia card all the time?
    Thanks!!
