Intel Anti Theft Service with my new T520

Folks,
I  when I went to the Intel site to sign up for the AT service it said I should have got a yellow card
in the box with the laptop with the activation code.
I checked, I did not get that card, does anyone know how to get the code ?
Thanks

The post above by JDay is no longer true. Intel has been distributing activation codes to some of their reseller partners. See my post below on how to acquire the activation codes.

  • Intel Anti Theft Service with my new X1?

Hiya, just ordered & received my new X1 with an i7 core over the last week.
Interesting and educational tracking the laptop all the way from China to UK via UPS...
Anyway, all seems to be in order apart from one small niggle.
I have noticed an "Intel Management Engine" systray icon running on the OS installed, in particular the Intel Anti Theft technology service.
My question is how do I register and enable this? There is NOTHING within the software or the printed documentation which had come with the laptop explaining this. There are no buttons on the systray config screen enabling you to do anything.
When I open the systray icon it says:
    Intel AMT: Enabled
    Intel AT: Enabled
And if i got to Intel AT tab, it says: "Status as of last boot: Not Enrolled"
How the hell do I enroll? I tried going to intel's AT service webpage, and basically you need to register, however for the registration you need some kind of a code. Their website says the code should have come printed on the leaflet with the laptop.  I have the box laptop had come in, in front of me together with all the documentation - there is absolutely nothing mentioning Intel AT, no codes or anything of the kind.
Is this AT service something you have to pay extra for?
I would like to suggest Lenovo includes further information on Intel AT with their laptops supporting Intel AT which have Intel AT software preinstalled. I am an IT professional yet found Intel AT's systray options very confusing.
    What should I do?

  • Intel Anti Theft on X220

    Hi all
i have a brand new X220 i7 that i really like - and would like to keep it to myself! :-)
It is equipped with Intel Anti Theft and i would like to activate it.  As far as i understand, it takes some service provider to activate it and that provider will keep track of the device and send a 'kill-pill' if i request it.
I have contacted Lenovo in Denmark, but they only gave me a link to some company that provide some protection software.
Does anyone know any Intel anti theft service provider in Denmark/Europe??

  • Intel Anti Theft not working properly

I am having problems with Itel Anti Theft keep locking every 7 days as my lap top is not communicating with the Intel server. Intel will not help me with the problem, I can not get past the call center in India, they keep promising to call me back by a "senior techniian" but no call back.
    Help please.

The Intel Anti-Theft technology isnt Toshiba feature
This additional technology is provided by Intel and it looks like the issue is related to Intel server connection.
    By the way:
I found nice instruction created by Toshiba - Intel Anti-Theft Service User Guide
This manual explains how to take advantage of the built-in hardware features, software options, and service benefits of the Intel Anti-Theft Service

    Hello,
    Two thoughts:
Check with your existing vendor(s) of security software to see if they offer an anti-theft module or product as an add-on to your existing license.
The open source Prey Project is another solution to investigate.

  • I have a problem with my motherboard and my battery of my 2010 macbook pro 13". It was just serviced with a new screen, keyboard, and logic board.

I have a problem with my motherboard and my battery of my 2010 macbook pro 13". It was just serviced with a new screen, keyboard, and logic board. How much will a new battery and motherboard cost and would it be worth it or should I just get a new computer. It was about 300 dollars to get it serviced last week. if it adds up to much past 600 dollars I will just get a new one. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
P.S During classes today it began beeping in my bag. Like three kind of long steady beeps then a short pause, and when I opened it I couldn't see anything but it was on so I turned it off and back on.

Depends on what options your Apple store offers - if they can do a depot repair (where they send it out), that's around $300 for all parts & labor.
If the store doesn't have that option, a logicboard is around $600, battery $80-$100, from what I've seen.
If they JUST replaced the logicboard, you absolutely should NOT have to pay for another replacement - the replacement is covered by a warranty. If they want you to pay for it, make sure you have a copy of the receipt for the work that was recently completed so you can show it to them. They have no reason to charge you for another logicboard.

  • Intel Anti-Theft Recovery Screen

Hi, I own an HP 8540w laptop which I no longer have proof of purchase for. Recently, the laptop got wet and no longer booted up so I purchased a used motherboard off of ebay and now after installing I get the following screen.
"This Computer is currently in a Stolen State.
To recover, you must present the correct passphrase"
    ISV id: 2000
I have never set this up on my laptop but it must have been triggered from the replacement motherboard I put in. Can someone tell me how I would go about getting rid of this Intel Anti-Theft Recovery Screen?
    Thanks

    Works perfectly!

  • Intel Anti-Theft Technology: Low cost enterprise options

Working in education, I'm looking for a low cost option for implementing anti-theft tech. All we need is a way to disable stolen computers, in order to deter thieves in the future. We don't expect to recover stolen equipment, so tracking is not needed. Computrace is too expensive. SecureDisable seems like a good option without unnecessary features, but still seems like a lot for a simple service.
Anybody have any experience in this area?
Are pay services absolutely required for this tech? What about writing a custom management plug-in?

  • Intel AMT & Anti Theft

    Hi All,
Anyone using Intel AMT or Anti-Theft? Are they of much use...?
Am I missing much by not using them? Been doing some googling but can't quite find what I need. They seem more aimed at corporate users rather than retail consumers.
    Information appreciated.

If anyone knows how to remove this bloat ware and stop it from slowing down the startup with its service, let me know.
    Eos:
It's easy to remove the software, and easy to disable both of these the functions in the BIOS.
Your computer came with a document entitled "User Guide" pre-installed on it.  To access the User Guide, press the start button, select 'Help and Support', then select the link entitled "User Guide" that will appear in the upper left corner of the window.  There you will find instructions explaining how to disable the feature.  Likewise for the Anti-Theft. There's also about 200 more pages of information explaining how your computer works, what you can do with it, etc.  It makes for fascinating reading.  The document is a PDF, you can save it to your desktop if you wish so that it is available whenever you want it.  You can even use the 'search' feature of Adobe Reader to instantly find topics, such as 'AMT' or 'Anti-Theft'.  This actually enables you to find information on your own in less time than it takes to make a post here in the forum asking others to find the information for you.
The anti-theft does not require or have any software  unless you have taken deliberate action to purchase and download an anti-theft service.  To remove the AMT software (if installed), press the start button, select 'Control Panel', then select 'Programs and Features', find the AMT software entry, select it, right click, and choose 'uninstall'.

  • Invalid endpoint uri with a new protocol (custom protocol)

    Hi!
I've deployed a web service in the OSB console which has an endpoint with http protocol...(f.e. "http://myhost:port/WebService"), importing a jar which contains this files: proxy service, business service, schema and wsdl...
I added to the weblogic server a new custom protocol. The endpoint of this new protocol must be like this: "tcp://host:port"...
I've tried to redeploy the web service with the new protocol in the business service file...but when i redeploy the web service, the osb says that the uri is incorrect, because it's still having the last web service's uri : "http://myhost:port/WebService" and it doesn't match the new protocol's endpoint ( "tcp://...")...
when i do the same change in the business service...(change the business service's protocol)...the osb automatically removes the existing uri and it shows me a new endpoint uri with the new protocol to add...
does exist any way to remove the existing business service's endpoint uri when i redeploy the web service's jar in the osb console????
    Thanks!!
    Ingrid.

Changing URI and transport protocol itself are two different things. If you want to change URI only then that is very much possible using Customization File in OSB -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15867/customization.htm#CACJCAGD
You may execute customization files using WLST as well.
But in your case you want to change the transport protocol itself which may require changes in Transport Protocol Parameters (and other dependent settings), so it may not be possible to do the same using script. I think for changing transport protocol, you have to manually update all the service's configurations on sbconsole or in OEPE.

  • Remove anti theft security

Hello, I installed the Intel anti theft technology I my t420 and it crash, now I have this thing on my bios and I can't take it of.
    Can someone help me?

It is used to block access on one of a group of machines from a central site. If yours is blocked, either it should be blocked or you can talk to the system administrator to unblock it. It does not block access if the system crashes.

  • Accidentally deleted my BBID associated with Anti-theft protection that was still on.

On July 15 I bought $600 BB Passport from a vendor at a popular IT market in Bangkok, Thailand. Currently, Blackberry is completely gone from Thailand, no service provider nor authorized dealer for BB Passport. I accidentally deleted BBID used with Anti-theft protection feature and it was on when this happened. I can't remember exactly how that happened and why it was so easy to delete the BBID without knowing I actually did. I recreated new BBID by using the same email and question for recovery but it did not work as my device won't accept it and kept saying the Anti-theft protection is on. Unfortunately I have tried so many times to put the password associated with the accidentally deleted BBID but it still did not work. Now the BB passport is like an expensive brick to me. I have taken the photo of my old BBID that was deleted. I have my BBM Pin that was set up by using this old BBID. I know the screen name of it, except one thing the password that no matter how I tried it was not accepted to my device. Things got worst when the vendor I bought the device from reformatted my device and i still CANNOT use my new BBID to set up the device. I have no carrier as BB passport is not official to Thailand. Please help i am so desperate. I have been waiting for so long to have this device. I took the risk of knowing that no provider in Thailand. Thank you so much

I might be able to help you some more. If your able to log onto protect.blackberry.comAnd you can see your deviceGo to manage devicesNear the bottom select removeThen log out of Protect web page. Then go back to the device,Enter the password to many times until it wipes clean. If it didn't power off and back on during the wipe then do that first. Now you should be able to log onto the device using your protect.blackberry.com ID and password You should be all set than Unfortunately I don't have an support email for them
