Intel chipset drivers installation under Win2000 IMPOSSIBLE!!

Hello,
I want to use my Toshiba Satellite P10-792 with Windows 2000 Professional, but I have a big, big problem: It is impossible to install the Intel chipset drivers!
I've tried both the newest version and the "Toshiba download"(5.0) version of the intel drivers, but anything change: The installation utility doesn't recognize the chipset and/or the OS (Win2k SP 4).
What can I do? It isn't a good thing at all that Toshiba doesn't explain the detailed chipset of the notebook's motherboard...
Please answer me, I can't use the notebook now!
Thanks,
Marco

Hello dieresi,
It is not simple to help you because you did not write exactly what happened. Is there some Massage? What happens after installation? Which Drivers did you install first?
As fair I know the installation hierarchy is sometimes very important. After you install OS (with or without SP) you must install Intel chipset driver and then other drivers.

  • Gaming 5 Intel Chipset Drivers

    Hey friends!
I'm currently trying to setup my new build and running into some issues when I install the Intel Chip-set drivers.
With the system in the current state, it only has the drivers dated back from Microsoft 2006.
If I install the chip-set drivers (either from Intel or direct from motherboard driver download page) they install just fine, but all my USB ports become disabled upon reboot. Both my keyboard and mouse are USB.
Even managed to try to boot into safe mode, but it doesn't recognize either.  My only option was to rollback to "Last known working system" to get it working again.
Should I even bother trying to install these drivers or is there another work around??
    My current build is:
    i7-4970k
    Msi Gaming 5
    Hyper x 16 Gig (1600)
    Windows 7 64
    Samsung SSD - 840 Pro
    Thanks!
    -A

    Hi,
On product driver download page are usually drivers versions that work perfectly or are least buggy. Try to uninstall all USB based drivers, then install those from product page. Also make sure to have Intel Management Engine (latest one) installed.

  • Intel INF Drivers

    Hi
In MSI'sr site I saw that Intel INF Drivers are supported by win9x (I use WIN98SE).
After  downloading and extracting I read, in the readme.txt file, the following:
One of the following operating systems must be
fully installed and running on the system
        before installing this software:
        Windows* 2000     5.00.2195  (Original Release)
        Windows* XP       5.10.2600  (Original Release)
Windows Server* 2003  5.20.3790  (Original Release)
    Please help,
    Thanks in advance
    xyoavx

    http://developer.intel.com/products/chipsets/index.htm
select the chipset, then select Product support tab, and click Download under Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility, then select the operating system you use
MSI only provide support for Windows XP
EDIT: the download provides drivers for all versions of Windows, so the MSI download will work on W98SE too

  • 845 EMax Series - Intel Chipset

I have recently purchased and installed a 845 EMax w/Intel Chipset.  Installation is more or less complete, however, in Device Manager, I have the big yellow (?) question mark for the PCI Universal Serial Bus.  The OS is Win98SE.  I have searched for a driver for this on both the driver disk provided as well as the W98 disk, but to no avail.  I would appreciate any light someone could shed on this problem.

Seems you have not installed the USB 2.0 drivers yet?
If you haven't, download and install these:
    http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/intelusb47.exe
Win98 does not natively support the 845E chipset.  Also, make sure you install the chipset drivers, here:

  • System & Chipset drivers for Mainboard MS-6743?

    Hi,
I have recently purchased a new MSI Mainboard MS-6743  from ebay, but it did not include the System & chipset driver software.
I was told I could download the drivers from the MSI website, but when I search for MS-6743 it returns a result , item not found?

This chart states that it is an 865 GM2 board ( look for it  under " micro Atx)
    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/products/mainboard/mb_htm/mb_comparison.htm
But it does not have a hyperlink
It does look to be that all the 865 G boards use the same system and chipset drivers . Pick your board from this list and download
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_list.php?kind=1&CHIP=1&NAME=Socket%20478%20(Intel%20P4)
( just be careful and double check to make sure that this is your board before you download and install )

  • G500 drivers installation order on Windows 7

    Hello,
I just bought this laptop, a G500, model name: 20236 and model number CB03103187.
    LENOVO ESSENTIAL G500H 59-395372 15.6'' INTEL CORE I3-3120M 4GB 1TB AMD RADEON HD8570M 1GB FREE DOS
    With no windows.
It came with free dos on it. Which is just fine.
I would like to use my own new copy of windows 7 64-bit.
I will download the drivers from here:
Drivers and software - Lenovo G500 Notebook
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035531
Is there a particular driver installation order ?
I am thinking of doing it in thisorder:
    -Windows 7
    -windows 7 SP1
    -BIOS
    -chipset
    -amd video
    -audio
    -usb device
    -blue tooth
    -atheros LAN
    -WLAN
    -camera
    -card reader
    -touch pad
    -power mgmt
    Do i need these drivers?
    -intel video drivers
    -intel mgmt engine
    -intel rapid storage
    Thank you in advance,
    Gus
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Gus,
There is no particular driver installation order. I personally firstly install Chipset then Display/Video drivers and after that everything else. Since you have AMD RADEON HD8570M in your machine, you do not have to install the three additional Intel drivers.

  • Satellite L850 - Win8.1 won't let me install the chipset drivers

    Hi,
After i upgraded to windows 8.1 pro 64 bit from windows 8 64 bit (pre-installed), i figured that windows won't let me install the chipset drivers (downloaded from "toshiba site" for windows 8.1 pro 64 bit), but they remain with the windows drivers installed for them.
The device manager shows everything installed and properly using. Also, when the set up was running to install the chipset driver, it skipped most of them, to install only a missing driver (sadly haven't kept any screen to show). I tried to install using the device manager (either auto search or manually browsing in the pc the downloaded files from site), but it keeps saying that drivers are up to date (having drivers with version of 2006, when the latest on site are 2014). Any suggestion of what to do?
    Model name: Satellite L850-1MK
OS version: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM cpu @ 2.4GHz
    GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7600M

Problem solved, after even a deeper google search, i found that if y make a shortcut and add to it a command (-OVERALL), it forcefully installs all components.

  • Chipset drivers and dxdiag question

I have an athlon xp 3200+ on an MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR with one meg of Mushkin PC3200 ddr running in dual channel, and a Radeon 9800XT. After installing the newest chipset drivers after downloading them from the nvidia website (nforce2), I noticed that under the System Devices heading in my dxdiag file some of the components show n/a. Does this mean the driver for each of these components showing n/a did not get installed? If so, how do I correct this?

Sorry. It was late and I should have been in bed.

  • Can I run adobe master collection in a windows partition on a basic mbp 13" with only the intel chipset?

can I run adobe master collection in a windows partition on a basic mbp 13" with only the intel chipset?
I want to install 16 gb ram but I don't think I can change the lack of video card. I wanted this basic machine because it has fairly long battery life. I don't need or want retina at this time. My model is the mid 2012 model. I am running the adobe collection for mac, I want to run the windows versions. Is it possible? What is the most ram I could access using something like fusion 5, assuming I could get fusion 5 to work? would it refuse to run because of the intel chipset and lack of video card?
If I'm wrong and there is a way to add a video card to this model, could some version of fusion and windows 7 access more than 2 gb operating ram?
What  cost would I be incurring, and would it be cheaper to buy a windows laptop with more ram than I could access via a virtual machine?
I want to work on a client's work in the windows versions of the creative suite, with occasional usage of after effects for windows, and to use some web plug-ins only available in windows versions, and to try some windows-only video and audio software.
thanks for any suggestions. While many people have told me I can run everything on my macbook, I am concerned about what I think is a limited amount of ram that can be accessed over the virtual machine partition softwares, and I don't know if what I want to attempt is actually possible.
My mbp os is 10.8.2 on a 2.5 GHz intel core i5 4 gb 1600MHz DDR3 with 500 hard drive. the basic 13" mid 2012 machine.
I'm hoping to install 16 G of opertating ram to allow more adobe programs to run concurrently- just when I am working on the mac side.
also, off track but, for years I have wanted a small  machine that is more easily portable than my 15" machines. I have only had this used machine for a few weeks, but already I have been very satisfied and used it for presentations at clients. I don't want an air because I really want the dvd burner and player. No matter what apple says about wireless, there are decades of legacy work stored on optical discs all over the world, and I don't want to be unable to open something at a client's office because I don't have a dvd drive. Additionally, I have very large files I want to transfer via ethernet or firewire so that the transfer will take less time and be more secure than wifi. I resist apple's trend to make every machine a disposable toy that is viable only a year or so. I have read reviews that label the mbp it a poor value compared to the air. If all you need to do is text and communicate via wifi, many devices will sufice, and an air is certainly the most elegant. But what about the cost of large ssd's and protecting the drive against damage from shock? I want to be able to move this thing around and the small size is much safer inside my padded bag when I sit in narrow airplane seats, crowded trains and other congested spaces. I am much more likely to be able to borrow a large screen in a client's office ( with the use of one of the three adapters I had to buy) than to be able to borrow a dvd drive that has drivers for mac os 10.8.2. I suspect this may be the last generation of machines that have optical drives and ethernet, and that was why I purchased it so that I could continue to do work into the next few years. I am impressed by the retina display, but I need long battery life. And as beautiful as the retina display is, it is even more of a problem when trying to cross platform with the windows world. I wish I could infuence apple to do a trial product flow for a machine designed to work with 80% of the business world that uses windows. How spectacular that would be. With all their expertise and adept hardware design, to create a machine that cross platforms better than a windows machine itself works? Now that would be an accomplishment.  Instead of 8 or 9 percent of the total computer sales, why not aim for a higher percentage? Smart devices will keep moving toward portable computers in power, anyway.

Fusion should work on your machine and if you put 16 GB of RAM in (see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM), Fusion can access a good portion of that. Also, in a Virtual Machine, the guest OS is presented with Fusion's video card emulation, not what's in hardware on your Mac. Of course, finding Windows 7 now that Win 8 has been released could take some doing and the Win 8 Pro upgrade price is supposed to jump to $200 the end of the month. Add that to the price of Fusion and the extra RAM and you're beginning to get into the realm of low end real PC's.
As to cross platform, I assume you're aware of BootCamp (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461).

  • Bootcamp 2.0 freezes on install with intel chipset problem solved.

After Days of pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my Windows XP SP2 32 bit would never complete its bootcamp install on Windows. I found the solution to my issue. It may help you. So I decided to post this because I looked everywhere and could not find any solutions that worked. It would freeze on the step where intel chipset would install. You get the blue screen and if you tried to start windows you would get a missing file report and would have to repair. system32\drivers\pci.sys Well nothing worked but one thing. I have a HD protool system that uses 3 PCI-e cards in my Mac Pro. You have to remove any extraneaous cards in your Mac Pro (PCI-e) first then you may install bootcamp 2.0 without any issues.
Hope this helps someone. Because I wish I would have had this info before struggling for 72 hours trying to figure out my issues.
Also, don't have any extra usb , firewall connections during install. And if you have 2 drives. Either disable one. Or put another Windows Xp disc on the 2nd drive. Then the Windows install will work fine. And for me. I had to format NTSF. FAT32 wouldn't work. Not the "QUICK" normal NTSF.
    Cheers.

Okay, I've half-solved the issue - I turned off the radeon card, and my idle temperature dropped by about 10 degrees. I'm idling at about 18 W now, so I get about an extra hour of battery life (~3 hours). That said, since I could get about 5 in Windows on this computer, I think there's still some room for improvement, especially since the fan is still a bit noisy. (I can't measure it exactly, but to my ear, it sounds like it's running too high given my low temperature of ~45 degrees).
I'm assuming the fan is the number one power draw at this point, so is there any other way that I can get it down without pwm?

Read the ReleaseNotes_9.4.0.1026.htm file inside of the ZIP package.
Just install the driver and don't worry about other things.
It's a "generic" one and includes the libraries for most of the chipsets (including yours).

  • M93p SFF "missing driver" for &DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA; needed Intel chipset utility 10.0.24

A new M93p SFF machine arrived Thursday, which I'm preparing for shipment to a friend in Virginia whose current 7-year old desktop machine has finally reached its own end-of-life.  Win7 Pro x64 pre-installed (via downgrade rights from Win8.1).
I've bought four M93p machines now (one tower and three SFF) and they've all been standard CPU... i5-4570.  This time I thought I'd spend the extra $30 and go for one step up, to the i5-4670.  Cheap enough.  Aside from the Win7 downgrade the rest of the machine is standard.
And then I do my own "after market hardware upgrade", purchasing my own parts: adding another 4GB of memory from Crucial, adding a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD, and adding a low-profile 1GB DDR5 Sapphire R7 250 video card.  The existing two pre-installed Win7 boot partitions were easily migrated over to the SSD from the stock 500GB SATA spinner, and the original 500GB spinner was then fully repurposed to be a second "data" drive.  All went without a hitch... almost.
In the process of doing Windows Updates, driver updates, Lenovo/Norton bloatware removal, Lenovo software updates, etc., I noticed that there was a device showing a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager.  This was of course totally unexpected, and I was very curious as to its cause.  Was it due to the i5-4670 CPU?  Was it due to a BIOS update which now made use of a hardware feature that had previously been disabled?  Didn't know.
The device was "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller".  And its Hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA.  The mystery was why this didn't have a suitable Lenovo-provided driver specifically available on the download site for the M93p.  And if it was actually an Intel hardware item and should have been supported by the Intel Chipset Utility (latest version for Haswell from Lenovo being 10.0.13), why did it not have the proper driver?  And why didn't "update driver automatically" through Windows Update not find the proper driver on the MS Update Catalog site?
    All very interesting.
Well, turns out support for this device is related to Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver.  And it turns out that it IS actually supported by the latest Chipset Utility from Intel (v10.0.24), available directly from the Intel download center.  Unfortunately it is NOT present in the older 10.0.13 available from Lenovo on their own download site for the M93p drivers and software.
Once that most current 10.0.24 version of the Intel Chipset Utility was run, now sure enough the device is now correctly supported by its driver and no longer appears as "other" with a yellow exclamation mark.  Instead, it now appears properly labeled as "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series Thermal - 8C24".
So, problem now resolved.  No more "other" unknown device with yellow exclamation mark.
But the question still remains as to what has only newly triggered this in my brand new just manufactured (10A9CT01WW, with its special order i5-4670 CPU instead of standard i5-4570) and delivered Lenovo-provided M93p?  How is it that Lenovo didn't observe this?  Is it something new from Intel now present in the Q87 chipset used on the motherboard?  Why didn't it appear in any of the other three M93p machines I've purchased over the past year?
If it was tied to the i5-4670 CPU, you'd still think Lenovo would have noticed this issue before now.
Anyway, for anybody else who comes along behind me and has this same hardware problem, the solution is easy: just grab at least the latest 10.0.24 Chipset Utility from Intel.  Until Lenovo updates things, this appears to be the fix.
    Solved!

Lenovo tech showed up as scheduled, although I was baffled because yesterday I was told the replacement board was "back ordered" and still in China (or maybe on a boat in a container, waiting to be unloaded).  With the longshoreman's problem on the west coast and specifically affecting the Port of LA, it's not clear when items shipped this way will arrive.
Anyway, today I get a phone call that the tech is 30 minutes out!  Great, although I'm baffled as to how he has a motherboard today if yesterday it was supposed "back ordered". Also, he does have the replacement case front fan, in the event it wasn't the original motherboard sensor which that was responsible for the reporting the "system fan" as "not operating" even though it was plugged into the fan header on the motherboard and was spinning properly.
Well, turns out the system board he arrived with was NOT the same 00K277 board delivered from the factory in my M93p as it arrived last Thursday.  Instead, it was a presumably acceptable substitute 3T7183 board.  And in fact, once installed it DID work.
However... still "not operating" for the front case fan.  Disappointing.
Also, the "motherboard temp" of 212F degrees now was no longer even presented at all!  It simply was not reported by the sensor to the software.  This actually agrees with another M93p, which also fails to report "motherboard temp", while yet another M93p reports it as 72F degrees (instead of the 212F degrees from my original Thursday board).  So maybe this particular issue should just be entirely forgotten about, although it certainly doesn't seem at all correct.
Next step, try to replace the case fan.  With "not operating" from two boards (and thus two fan headers), it obviously would seem to be the fan itself that's probably responsible.
Well, unfortunately they sent the wrong fan part.  It's cable was 4-wire (i.e. PWM?) rather than 3-wire of the original.  also the 4-wire cable on the new fan was far too short to be able to reach over to the fan header connector on the motherboard.  It's quite simply the wrong fan part.
So, the tech re-ordered the correct replacement fan.  Presumably when available I'll get another call and another tech will come out to swap it.  Hopefully that will finally resolve the "not operating" system fan issue and I will finally see its RPM.
Bottom line: today's service call accomplished nothing productive.  The new board did no harm but it also did no good.  And the new fan was unusable, since it was the wrong fan part.
    I await the next visit.

  • Installing OSX 10.4 on intel chipsets

I'm thinking about building a desktop and I was wondering if anyone knows any type of way to install Mac OS X 10.4 on it. I figured now that Apple's been using intel chipsets it wouldn't be too hard would it? Has anyone tried to do it or knows ways to do it? Is it as simple as installing it on a regular intel chipset mac?

Attempting to install it on anything else is a violation of the license agreement, as well as impossible.
Nonsense! All you have to do is get a motherboard with an Intel chipset that supports OS X. Since the only source for these is Apple, & the only way they will sell you one is in a Mac that comes with a license to use the OS, just buy a Mac, pull out the motherboard, mount it in the PC enclosure of your choice, & you are good to go.
What? You say that would cost more than a Mac & involve pointless extra work? Picky, picky, picky!
