Intel HD 4400 install error Windows 10
Hello all, I have updated to Windows 10 just a few hours ago and I noticed that I the text in general is a bit fuzzy which got me thinking if something is wrong. I tried opening Intel HD graphics control panel from the icon on the taskbar but it's greyed out. I went online to http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Spectre-13-3000-Ultrabook/5401166/model/6709285#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1 to download the latest Intel Graphic drivers for Windows 10 but I receive an error when trying to install it: " This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." Tried uninstalling the drivers from Device Manager and then reinstall. Did not solve it. I'm stuck.Any ideas? Please help. Thanks.

Install error Windows 8.1 0xC1900101-0x20017
Hello,
I'm in charge of the PCs of a medical office, in France (sorry for my English).
Computers were under Windows 8 without any problems.
I made the migration to Windows 8.1 without bug for all computers except one.
This is a laptop Asus X50VL which was updated from Vista to Seven and then Windows 8 which
works perfectly on it.
I've tried almost 20 times to upgrade to Windows 8.1 after many tests : clean boot, deactivation of many services, uninstallation
of all programs and devices, etc... The procedure for upgrading to Windows 8.1 through the store always gives the same result: 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 error.
I've tried all the solutions described here : Fix 0xC1900101-0×20017 Windows 8.1 Setup Error
I even formatted the hard drive , and made a new installation "clean install" of Windows 8, based on the original DVD (with no problem), without installing third
party software, but still the same result.
I give you access to report files here :
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=DA5CC4923798CC18!24815&authkey=!AF_Rgqo3FD9DPFs&ithint=folder%2c.log
I 've asked the question on answers.microsoft.com, here is the answer I got :
"These are the errors in the log

I asked the same question in social.technet.microsoft.com in Frenche here :

I tried the solution proposed :
1. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

2. Run -> wsreset.exe ->
3. Clean boot
But the installation still fail with same error code.
That's why I turn to you .
Hope you find the solution.
Cordially.
Dominique GAUTHIERHi,
According to the setuperr.log, In fact, the error message should locate the location as below:
2014-01-14 11:40:26, Error [0x0808fe] MIG Plugin {0b23c863-4410-4153-8733-a60c9b1990fb}: LoadLibraryEx error (C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\ReplacementManifests\Microsoft-Windows-TextServicesFramework-Migration\TableTextServiceMig.dll)

Please check the location and its logs. In addition, as your computer is too old, may be the hardware is the problem that caused installing Windows 8.1 failed.

Photoshop CS6 EXTENDED Install Error [WINDOWS] *error report included*
Greetz,
I uninstalled Photoshop CS5.1 ME (Middle Eastern) version from my 64bit operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium) and went on to install CS6 EXTENDED after a fresh restart (I also deleted remaining CS5 folders in "Program Files' Adobe directory"). The setup went fine. But, when it finished, it gave an error message saying that Adobe Photoshop CS6 didn't install or didn't install correctly. From there, I copied the error report/log it gave out:
Exit Code: 6

Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.
Thanks in advance.Thank you for the reply. I will try the steps listed in the document you linked me to. In case any of the procedures works, I will mark your post as "Correct".
Thank you, once again. -
The installation of FMS 3.5.1 r516 Development fatally failed on our Windows 2008 R2 Server. We tried an R1 server and that one installed with no issues.

Mike WilcoxHi,
FMS 3.5.1 supports Windows 2008 R2.
Regarding the error message that you get it can also be caused due to some files getting corrupt in Windows registry.
The corruption in registry can occur due to several reasons such as existense of invalid entries caused due to software you are no longer using, or an improper software installation or removal.
You can try the installation on another machine with a fresh installation of Windows 2008 or re-install the OS if possible. You can also try some registry repair tool in case you don't wish to re-install the OS.
Look into windows 2008 support forums for more information on this error message.
Thanks,

Any ideas?
Thanks
PatrickHi Pieter,
Thanks for the hints. However, the installation still fails with the same symptom.
I also tried it on a virtual machine that was set up with Windows XP (SP3) with no luck. Setup.exe fails to run and I cannot find anything useful in the log files that I can find.
The virtual machines that I am using are basic installs. I install the OS, JDK 32 bit and then BI Publisher. I just want a "basic" installation. Is there something missing?
By the way, I installed BI Publisher several years ago on a Windows XP 32 bit computer with no problems. I am trying to install this on a 64 bit computer, could this be the problem?
Any thoughts?
Cheers,

Intel 3000 Graphics driver from windows update failing to install. Error 800F0244
Hi all, So an update has come through windows update for my embedded graphics which is an Intel HD 3000. Problem is the update keeps failing. Tried restarting and nothing changed. I ended up jumping on to the Windows Forums and seems like this problem has just started to pop up for quite alot of users and no solution yet. This is what the windows website says for the Error : SPAPI_E_SIGNATURE_OSATTRIBUTE_MISMATCH0x800F0244 The software was tested for compliance with Windows Logo requirements on a different version of Windows, and may not be compatible with this version. So was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if anyone found a solution?
Hi Everyone , So after a few minutes of digging around this is what I found. This is the driver version that is failing for intel HD 3000. ( 9.17.10.4229 ) So I thought I'd check the driver on the Intel site, to see if it was the latest, which it was .. (9.17.10.4229) And this is the driver currently installed for my HD 3000... and as noted its ( 9.17.10.4229 ) SO its seems this problm is a windows update issue and the most current driver is available through intels website. No need to stress, jump onto the intel downloads page and download the latest one if you havent already, This is a link to the 32Bit Driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24970/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit Heres the link for the 64Bit https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit As for the windows update one, hide that update as clearly something isnt right and surely MS will patch it soon enough! Hoped this helped

Windows Updates won't install - Error 0x80072EFD
Question
Windows Updates won’t install. I’m receiving Error 0x80072EFD. What can I do to solve this?
Answer
This particular error means that your computer was not able to connect to the Internet when it tried to install updates. First, check your Internet connection and then try again. If that doesn’t work, try the methods below.
Method A: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on, and temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
To complete this method, follow these steps.
Step 1: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on
To open Windows Firewall, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Click On (recommended), and then click OK.
Step 2: Temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
Under Firewall, read the firewall status note. This information will indicate which, if any, firewall is installed and whether the firewall is turned on. For example, for ZoneAlarm, the notice will say ZoneAlarm Firewall is currently ON.
Open the third-party firewall application that is listed in the firewall status note, and temporarily disable the firewall. If necessary, refer to the firewall application documentation, or contact the application vendor for more information about how to temporarily disable the application.
Step 3: Try to install the updates again
If this method resolved your issue, follow the steps in Method B, step 2 to re-enable your third-party firewall. You might want to also check for and install any necessary updates to your third-party firewall.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method B.
Method B: Temporarily disable third-party antivirus software
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Locate and temporarily disable your third-party antivirus software
Note Windows does not detect all antivirus software, and some antivirus software doesn't report its status to Windows. If your antivirus software is not displayed in Windows Security Center, and you're not sure how to find it, try any of the following:
Look for the antivirus software in the list of programs on the Start menu.
Type the name of the software or the publisher in the Search box on the Start menu.
Look for the software in Action Center:
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
If Windows can detect your antivirus software, it will be listed under Virus protection.
If the software is turned on, check the Help documentation that was included with the software for information about how to disable it.
Note You may have to look in the application documentation to determine how to do this.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
As soon as the antivirus software is temporarily disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, and you were able to install the updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party antivirus software.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method C.
Method C: Disable software accelerator programs
Disable any software accelerator programs that may be running. Some examples of these programs are file download accelerators and Internet speed accelerators.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method B, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Disable software accelerator programs
To do this, select from the following options:
See the documentation that was included with the program.
View the Help files for your program.
Contact the program vendor. For information about how to contact the program vendor, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/vendors
Step 2: Install Updates
As soon as the software accelerator program is disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, you should enable the software accelerator programs that you disabled in Step 1.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method E.
Method D: Add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
To add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list, follow these steps:
Start Windows Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Note If you are using Internet Explorer 7, and the menu is not available, press the ALT key on your keyboard to access the Internet Explorer Menu.
Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites.
Click Sites, and then click to clear the Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone check box.
In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the following addresses, and then click Add after you type each address:
http://update.microsoft.com
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Click OK two times.
Try to install the updates again.
If this method resolved your issue and you were able to install updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party firewall if it is still disabled. To do this, see step 2 in Method A.
For more methods and advanced troubleshooting techniques, see You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates.Mark, I've just been through this update issue with two installations. In my case, it seemed intertwined with authentification and indexing not working, either. Upon a transfer of my system disk to new hardware I got hit with the issue and couldn't fix it. Which is why I did a clean install of Win7 ultimate 64bit on my T61p. The install (including update) worked great until I ran the intel matrix storage manager update. This broke windows update. If you surf the web, and include "intel rapid storage manager" or "intel matrix storage manager" and "Windows update fails", you'll see that a lot of folks feel that the intel driver (or how windows handles it) is what breaks update. I tracked this down to a driver, iastor.sys, in windows\system32\drivers. I was able to fix my Window Update by copying an iastor.sys from another recently built machine (should be exactly the same, but this was my wife's T510, but still Win 7 Pro 64) to overwrite the iastor.sys that the intel update changed. To be clear: I couldn't get windows update or indexing to work. I overwrote* the "bad" iastor.sys with one that worked on another computer. Rebooted. Update worked. I just wanted to point out that instead of blindly installing updates to fix problems, folks should be aware that sometimes the update is the problem. Especially as these systems are off warranty and the drivers are not being updated. I've asked elsewhere, so let me ask here: Where is the System Interface Driver for t61p? Not listed anywhere on site, links on the web referring to it are all broken. Is the System Interface Driver now part of another driver program? Thanks! Install error #1620 PrPro Windows Vista Home Premium
Install error 1620 when attempting to install CS4 "This installation package could not be opened" (for each component of the software package). Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, Intel i7 processor. Unable to install any components of PrPro. This is after a clean install of Vista Home Premium (part number x12-24171-01)with discs provided by microsoft.
I would never install a new OS over the top of what is there... wipe/format the hard drive and install fresh
Also, if you have a 64bit computer with more than 4Gig of ram, think about the 64bit version of Win7
CS4 can't use more than about 3Gig of ram, but if the OS can use more to run better... that is what I would do
Just be aware that you should still run CS4 in WinXP compatibility mode, as I posted before
Also read the article below... I have NOT done this, but it seems to be an easy process

EBS 12.1.1 Windows x86 Rapid Install Errors
By this point, I am CONVINCED that R12.1.1 is broken for windows x86, in the form that it is delivered at edelivery. I have tried installing it on 2k3 and XP all with the exact same errors. I have also tried the latest rapid install/StartCD version 12.1.1.10 released on 29th June with the EXACT same results. The following are the most common problems:
1) After starting Rapid Install, the first step is to cache the StartCD in the Temp directory under windows. Just as this step is about to complete you get the following error:
Windows cannot find '.\jre\NT\1.5.0\bin\java'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
2) Sooooo, I copied a JRE 1.5.X folder contents into the new \jre\NT\1.5.0 folder under rapidwiz, the absence of which was causing the above error. This allowed me to go past this error only to stumble on this next error. At this point, Rapid Install just stops abruptly. The error as stated in the rapidwiz log is as follows:
Starting from CD area C:\temp\07261549
RW-50010: Error: - script has returned an error: 2
Returning - 0
Funny thing is, one of the bug fixes in 12.1.1.10 is the above error. I dont know what was fixed, but I do not see a difference in the behavior.
NOTE: I tried keeping the 1.6.0 JRE that comes with the startcd in to the newly created 1.5.0 folder with the same results.
I can't help thinking that the two errors are related, ie., my fix for bypassing the first error might be causing the second error.
As most of you are likely to ask some standard questions, I'll just post their answers before you do.
1) My setup is a VM under VMWare Workstation 6.5 with a single network adapter that is a Host Only networked adapter with a static IP.
2) It does not matter if I do a Express Install or otherwise.
3) Errors are repeatable on multiple hardware platforms, my host system is an 8 core opteron server with 16GB RAM. My VMs have 3GB RAM and 2 virtual processors assigned. Errors were repeatable on a laptop with a turion x2 processor and one with an Intel Core 2 Duo.
4) I am using CYGWIN and it was installed using the Metalink note describing how CYGWIN needs to be installed/configured for oracle applications install.
5) R 11.5.10.2 was successfully installed on all VMs/Laptops.
6) There are no spaces in any of the paths.
7) The staging area was created with StageR12 as the root folder under a Local Hard Drive to the VM/Machine.
8) I get ABSOLUTELY no warnings/errors with my Rapid Install during the pre-requisites check phase. Following is a sample log:

Which Java version to install on Windows w/AMD Athlon 4400+?
Hello all,
Until now, I've always run Windows on an Intel Pentium platform. However, I just purchased a new PC with an AMD64 Athlon 4400+ processor (one of those new "dual core" jobs). According to the PC manufacturer, this processor can run at 64-bit or 32-bit, but by default, is set to 32-bit processing.
Here's my question:
Assuming that I'll be running this machine as a 32-bit processor, which version of the JDK should I pick to run on this new system? Windows/Pentium or Windows AMD64?
Thanks for your help.Be careful here.
I went out and bought a nice new AMD64 cpu and
installed the beta Windows XP 64 bit edition and then
tried to install that 64 bit Java for AMD and never
got past the install. Windows kept killing the
installer insisting it was either a virus or
unauthorized or some such nonsense.
After not being able to install other 32 bits apps
(and I had no problems with other 32 bis apps, mind
you) I finally removed windows 64 and installed
Windows XP Pro and Java 1.4.x without issues.
Conclusion: Install the 32 bit Java if your OS is 32
bit, install the 64 bit version of Java if your OS is
64 bit (if you can). Your hardware makes no
difference if it can operate at both 32 and 64 bits.
Then it depends on the OS that you're running
g because it will tell your CPU which mode to operate
in."Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is designed to meet the demands of customers who require large amounts of memory and floating point performance in areas such as mechanical design and analysis, 3-D animation, video editing and composition, and scientific and high-performance computing applications. "
- Microsoft
"If you use only 32-bit applications and work with data sets not larger than 2 GB, you will find that 32-bit, Windows XP Professional is the best desktop system for your applications."
- Microsoft
Are you even doing anything Windows 64 is designed for? Unless you're running in a 64-bit environment you shouldn't be downloading the 64-bit Java, whether or not your processor can support 64-bit environments is irrelevent. If you're a Windows user, then chances are you shouldn't be using Windows 64 because unless you require massive amounts of processor power and memory for things like animation or engineering it's not for you. -
Just installed Firefox 3.6. Firefox will not start and Firefox safemode does not start either. Using Task manager I do not see if started either. If I create a new profile and start from that window, Firefox starts up. I see no error windows/messages. I do have it listed in my Firewall as an exception program with Permit All. What is happening?
