Intel HD Graphics issue fix

Just wanted to give an update  an issue.
My Mboard is a MSI H81 P33 Running  2x2gb 1300 corsair ram and a Intel celeron G1820 on windows 8.1 64
The build was fine no issue installed all updates from Microsoft and the msi live update software. I then started to notice that Google Chrome was slow laggy and very unresponsive. So i switched for a moment to internet explorer no issue. So i tried to drill down the issue in chrome. A lot of user's pointed out that in chrome if you switch of hardware acceleration the issue was resolved.
YES....BUT this did solve the issue but now certain things like youtube were not as responsive and the fish bowl test was slow. So i switched hardware acceleration back on. Chrome went back to its old ways long to load slow page opens etc.
As a last resort i went to the intel driver update page and used the auto scan my sytem feature. It found my diplay driver for the igpu to be out of date installed the new version and BOOM THE ISSUE WITH CHROME WAS SOLVED.
SO WHY IS THE MSI UPDATE GIVING ME AN OUT OF DATE DRIVER if you search slow chrome lots of people have this issue who is at fault moard driver man intel windows chrome. The whole situation now makes me dubious about msi's ability to offer the correct driver's as it still shows 10.18.10.3650 for the vga driver yet intel latest is 10.18.10.3958

  • Is the 15,4" MBP graphics issue fixed? (9600M)

    Hi!
Is the graphics issue with the 9600M card fixed on the Macbook Pro 15,4"'s that are being sold now?
I'm planning on upgrading from a white macbook 2,1 (with Intel GMA950 graphics) to get better graphics and a bigger screen, but I don't want it to break down due to some hardware error.
    Thanks

  • Are ATI graphics issues fixed in Leopard 10.5.1 -- ?

I haven't downloaded 10.5.1 yet and installed it on either of my machines. Can anyone with an ATI card (preferably a 9600, X1900 or X800 XT) confirm that the graphics issues we've identified in previous threads, have been fixed?
    Please do tell.

The latest software update Apple Imac Graphics Firmware Update 1.0 has deemed my new Mid 2007 2.8 Ghz 24" iMac does not need updating. Normally I would not worry too much about this, as I have in fairness only suffered a few freezes which required a restart by switching the iMac off. However uncertainty is not good when you're entrusting a lot of important data to your computer.
I have definitely had the occasional freeze as described by others; admittedly this was mainly using 10.4.10. I also had the screen corruption in the area of cover flow within iTunes.
It seems more stable since upgrading to Leopard.
What concerns me is not knowing exactly what the latest firmware is correcting and why this isn't necessary for all new Mid 2007 iMacs?
I'm sure it would be comforting for all new iMac owners to know they can be certain how and why their new iMac is definitely not affected?
Does anyone know why only some particular new iMacs are deemed in need of this firmware update?
Please, please Apple issue a statement to clear up all the confusion about this issue, this will stop your loyal supporters from worrying unnecessarily?

  • Intel (HD) graphics issue when trying to use "Stellarium" on Satellite C660

Stellarium (a free application for astronomie) works w/o any problem on many computers of my astronomie club but impossible to use it on my Toshiba Satellite C660-226. No problem during installation but nothing appends when I launch the program.
I run it in compatibility mode (windows XP Sp2) and Intel HD graphics driver is at level 8.15.10.2189 as recommended on Toshiba support center.
If I install a lower level of this driver( VGA std graphic carte at level 6.1.7600.16385) ,Stellarium works but very slowly and some functions (like zoom) are bugging.
Stellarium support center recommands to install a more recent level of intel HD graphics driver but I don't find a more recent level working with P6100 processor on Intel download site.
    Can you help me?
    Regards

Hi some news about Intel driver install on my Toshiba Satellite C660-226
I've succeded to install Intel HD graphics driver level 8.15.10.2509 and now Stellarium works fine.
Hereunder the method I've applied :
First I've installed an old driver level found on my labtop ( VGA graphics card std level 6.1.7600.16385)
then Uninstalled Stellarium if already installed.
I've download Win7Vista_64_152250.exe from the Intel download center (Pentium P6100 for my computer)
On exec line : I typed the following command : bcedeit /set nointegritychecks ON
After these steps, I executed the downloaded file "Win7Vista_64_152250.exe" from my download directory.
When installation is finished , I reboot my labtop and checked Intel HD graphics driver.
Driver level now : 8.15.10.2509 (not 2189 as last Toshiba recommanded level).
On exec line : I typed the following command : bcedeit /set nointegritychecks OFF
Stellarium 0.10.6 is reinstalled and works w/o error now. Up to now I don't more recent level.......
Try this if you're still on this problem ...........good luck :o)

  • T410s Intel HD Graphics Issue

I am having a weird issue with our new T410s laptops. I install the Graphics Driver that is on the website and it shows that everything is working fine.
If I place it in a series 3 dock with now monitors is works fine. If I try to plug in 1 Lenovo L2251p Monitor via DisplayPort it works fine, it will clone, it will do extended.
However, if I try to plug in 2 L2251p monitors via DisplayPort all 3 monitors go blank! No matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I can do Built in and Monitor 1 fine. I can do Built in and Monitor 2 fine but I cannot do Monitor 1 and monitor 2.
I have tried the drivers from the website, I have tried the ones from Windows updates, neither one works.
I also get an error every so often when doing extended:
"Display Driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

there is a problem with the current Lenovo firmware that for some reason dual DP output is not supported, for the time been you have use the DVI out for the second monitor. Lenovo technician and engineers have already caught on this issue, they are working on a resolution.

  • Intel 4000 graphics failure both windows and linux on thinkpad edge s430

After 5-30 minutes the screen breaks up in flickering (or just black) and system freezes. I need to turn off computer. After restart the error occurs again quickly.
This occurs regardless if I boot to windows or into a linux bootable dvd.
    But
Remote desktop connection to the computer and it works fine for days .
    ->
Thus I believe it is the intel 4000 graphics that has some hardware failure which is not invoked upon remote desktop.
I wonder if this is a known issue?
I wonder if only a replacement of the intel 4000 graphics will fix this (this probably means replacing the main board entirely?)
    Or
If it is in any way likely that it is _only_ because maybe thermal paste between cooler and cpu/graphics is slipping?
    Lenovo Thinkpad Edge S430

Have you tried setting up the connection manually?
    e.g.

    #enable interface
    ifconfig wlan0 up
    #check network visibility
    iwlist wlan0 scanning

  • How Can I Fix The Graphics Issue...?

After having my computer for a few years, it started getting an artifact around the mouse, and when it did that, everything was frozen, key commands didn't work, and I would have to manually shut it down.
I went to the Apple store, and they couldn't get it to boot, even with their external drive. The guy at the Apple store took my computer into the back, and a few minutes later, brought it out. He said he had gotten it to boot, without their external drive, but wouldn't tell me how. He said there was a problem with my video card. He said $400 to fix it.
Not having the money, I left. A friend told me how to safe boot the computer, and now it will turn on, despite the artifacts and graphics problems. Why didn't the guy at the store tell me this? It's obviously the only way he could have booted it. He wanted to charge me $50 to back up my data, when I could do it myself under the safe boot.
The thing is, when using safe boot, I have no audio or video functionality- the camera doesn't work, the speakers don't work, and the disc drive doesn't work. I've read up on this, and it's an issue for a lot of macs, from about the time I bought mine. They say there was too much glue used somewhere in the computer (2 or 3 little chips with too much glue or something), and over time the glue/ adhesive gets too hot, and spreads to other areas and ruins them (ie. my graphics card). That's my simplified understanding of the issue, anyway.
Why won't Apple replace it for me? They won't let me trade it in, because it won't boot right, but this is an issue they were aware of at some point. I spent a lot of money on this laptop and it's really nothing more than a digital typewriter now.
Does anyone know how I can fix the graphics issue? Aside from shelling out the money I don't have for something that's really Apple's fault? It'd be really nice to be able to, I don't know, watch things and listen to things. That was the whole reason I got this thing.
Thanks for any ideas, feedback, sympathy, empathy or other comments.
    <Edited by Moderator>

Ok, you are right, maybe I don't know it for a fact . . . but from all the things I read in various forums, there was a batch (or something similar) of macs (the exact kind I have) that did have too much glue on some parts, and it caused all sorts of problems for different people, most of those problems being with the graphics card. Apparently the excess glue overheats and leaks out of where it's supposed to stay, and whatever it has the misfortune of getting on goes to pot.
I got very brave, thinking my computer was shot- I opened it, and there was, indeed, crusty glue coming out from under some ... things ... three square chip like things ... and it had seeped onto the edges my graphics card. Having seen the inside of other laptops, I know it was not supposed to look like that no matter how old it is.
This whole issue happened just a few months after my (overpriced, unused) AppleCare expired. Irony?
I did backup all my data and files (no thanks to the Apple people; and on safe boot the disc drive won't work, so I had to borrow my friend's external hard drive for backing up), and did a clean install with the original discs. It was a huge hassle, and when it was finally done, I booted my computer normally. It worked for about 10 minutes before it got artifacts all over and froze, at which point I had to force shut it down. I've tried the clean reinstall a few times, but the problem (I think) is that the glue inside already did the damage, and my graphics card is shot. So, I've been running it on safe boot for months. No music. No video. No disc drive. OH- and the best part- on safe boot, the airport won't work. I can't use wi-fi, and I can't take my laptop anywhere because I'm tethered to a modem. It's the worst thing ever. All of it. It's horribly depressing.
I'm just really frustrated and irritated that this happened, and Apple won't do anything. I do realize they don't HAVE to do anything- buyer beware and whatnot- BUT as a reputable company they should at least let me trade in with the discount or whatever. I didn't have to choose Mac, it was the most expensive computer I looked at- but it has so many awesome functions and things . . . that I can't even use . . .
As a poor college student I don't have the option to get a new computer or have Apple replace any parts in this one, so I just kind of feel like Apple screwed me over. Their fault? Maybe not. Their product? Yes, so they should want to keep me as a future customer. At least I think so.
I guess this isn't quite a question. But I would love more feedback, ideas, anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Can I replace my own video card? Will Apple do anything at all? I love macs but I might never get another one, since this could happen again.
And- unrelated- who changed the title of my post, and how, and why?

  • Graphics issue on Intel 915GM

    Hi,
my graphics driver doesn't seem to be working properly as glxgears runs with only half my vsynch rate.
I am running Arch on an IBM Thinkpad X41T, and use the xf86-video-intel driver. I enabled early kms via "i915" in the Modules array of mkinitcpio.conf, but the issue remains weather or not I remove it (I did run mkinitcpio -p linux after changing the file). My Xorg.0.log does not have any (EE) entries, except for "unable to load module 'vesa'". I did uninstall vesa after reading that it might cause graphics issues if one has proper graphics drivers installed.
What I realized is that my Display controller does not seem to have a driver installed. lspci -k returns

  • Satellite C660 - Intel HD Graphics update issue

    Hello,
sorry for my English level, I'm French
I have an issue without solution with my Satellite C660 (for the moment i hope!) I downloaded the software google sketchup 8, dedicated to the architecture drawing, but it doesnt work, I always have a bug message informing that it is necessary to update de drivers of the graphic card (According to google support it seems that OPENGL functions should be implemented in the drivers of my laptop)
    So I have downloaded the last available drivers for the configuration I have ( Intel HD graphics for pentium, windows 7 64 bits) ;
the link ( french website, the one for Intel is not currently available, it is an .exe document)
    http://www.touslesdrivers.com/php/constructeurs/telechargement.php?v_code=37057&v_langue=fr
I have tried to manually update de graphic card driver with the device manager menu (graphics card > update the drivers button> manual file.exe selection ), but at the end there is no update, I only have a very quick message informing that windows has determinated that the drivers are already updated.
Actually there is no changes on the drivers (still the same date of the pilotes 28/07/2010 in the graphics card properties) and sketchup is still out of work
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello
Thank you for the reply, the type of the laptop is the C660 2RG with windows 7.
Regarding the Intel HD graphics I've tried to download it directly in Intel website but the appropriate file (name Intel HD graphics for Intel Pentium and Celeron Processors with Intel HD Graphics) is not available, when you click on itn you have a displayed screen which propose to scan you laptop in order to determinate your needs
But even with this function you have at the end a message telling that the configuration is specifically done by the laptop builder and no action could be taken.
To run the application Sketchup i need, the driver must support the OpenGL components (usually available in the graphics cards driver, but it seems that Toshiba configuation has been done without it)
    Thanks

  • [GUIDE] Update AMD Mobility Radeon drivers to fix graphics issues

I made this small guide because some topics on this forum are about this problem and there is no official step-by-step solution from HP. So, how to fix your laptop's graphics issues by updating drivers for AMD Mobility Radeon HD GPU to latest version from AMD?
    1. Install latest BIOS for your laptop from HP.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/Official-HP-statement-on-Switchable-Graphics-and-Open-GL/td-p/766285
    2. In BIOS set Switchable Graphics Mode to 'Fixed mode'.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/268/79500144.jpg/
    3. Install latest graphics driver for your laptop from HP.http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    4. In Catalyst Control Center make sure that active GPU is 'High-performance GPU'.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/cccv.png/
    5. Download latest version of Mobility Radeon drivers for your operating system from AMD.For now, I recommend version 12.6:- for Windows 7 64-bit:http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/mobile/12-6_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe- for Windows 7 32-bit:http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/mobile/12-6_mobility_vista_win7_32_dd_ccc.exe
    6. Install AMD driver on top of HP driver. This installation will update AMD components to latest version.
    7. Enjoy graphics performance as if it was properly supported by HP.
    Solution for HP:
Release new driver each time AMD makes a new release within 1 week maximum. Hard? But this guy does nearly the same. Alone and for free. http://leshcatlabs.net/ OR simply ask AMD to provide direct links to new drivers like in an example above (see point 5) and sticky these links with a step-by-step instruction on this forum.
Problem solved. With kudos from Russia. Alexander.
    P.S. Does this guide work?

hey there, i ve recently bought the g6-1304sv notebook first things i did when i got it was all the updates, both the windows 7 updates and the HP assistant updates(that basically gave me the new bios and i guess new drivers for graphics) when i got into the bios and actually switched it to fixed mode the notebook gave me a bluescreen (i could only get into the pc in safe mode through which i uninstalled drivers for both the onboard and the amd card in order to actually get back in the pc normal way) the strange thing after that  was that it didnt give me the catalyst center on the right click and when i downloaded and installed the latest it would say that catalyst could not start because it couldnt find the card (or sth like that) updated drivers for amd etc but still nothing. what i did then is creat backup cds and restore pc to factory settings. (does that remove bios update? dont think so)From that point onwards everything works fine and im now using the amd card no problemwhat worries me is the hp assistant messages saying that i need to update urgently. will that mess everything up again?i hope this helps others and i hope you have an answer for me thx in advance and for the guide!!!

  • Does anyone else have display issues with Intel X3100 graphics and OS X Lion?

I took the screenshot below to demonstrate one issue I have had with graphics since upgrading to OS X Lion. I use a Late 2007 MacBook with 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo and the Intel X3100 graphics chipset. I have 4GB RAM. Had to reboot to get this to correct itself. The problem is the menubar (obvious) and the desktop image is missing, replaced by the grey.
I have an external monitor connected (second image) and everything displays properly there.
Some other issues I've noticed are using Mission Control sometimes yields unpredictable results, graphically speaking, and the fullscreen apps don't always allow me to see the menubar. These all seem graphically related. Is this a hardware or software problem? Any solutions?

Here is another display issue with my machine...perhaps software rather than hardware? The icon for the rtf file "Matt Passages" is missing entirely. There is a faint rectangle present instead. The same file has an icon in the first image posted above. No change to the file since then. And two other RTFs have the icon! Odd things with Lion.

  • H67MS-E43 Intel HD Graphics Driver Issue

I recently purchased a H67MS-E43(B3) with a Core i3 3.4Ghz SandyBridge and 4GB or Corsair RAM.  I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and the latest drivers for all the missing devices from either the MSI site or the Intel site.  The problem is that no matter what driver I install for the Intel HD Graphics (MSI, Intel, and Windows Update) as soon as I reboot tons of Windows services crash and it constantly logs page faults in the system log.  MMC stops working and explorer constantly crashes.  If you remove the driver and let it run with just a standard VGA driver it is ok.  Any advice?

Nothing?  I guess I'll just return it and get a quality board from Intel.

  • AMD 5650/Intel switchable graphics setup configuration woes

I was wondering if someone could help me with my POS HP DV7-4100 ATI Radeon 5650/Intel switchable graphics setup.  I'm so annoyed with this and don't know how to proceed but it looks like I'm not completing the configuration properly.
I have tried seemingly everything so far:
    Catalyst w/ Catalyst-utils
    Catalyst-hook
    Catalyst w & w/out utils-pxp
    Catalyst-total-pxp
Anyway, loading catalyst without xorg.conf seems to get me the closest to a working setup but once I log into Cinnamon, I get a message saying that it has loaded in fallback mode and if I would like to try to restart cinnamon (nothing happens).
This leads me to believe that this is a config issue.
This is the dmesg without an xorg.conf file.

  • MSi GE70 Apache Pro w/ nVidia GeForce GTX 860M Graphics Issues

    Hi there,
I recently purchased an MSi gaming notebook with nVidia GTX 860M graphics. However, just recently I've been having game-breaking issues with textures rendering, artifacts and particles as well as the drivers crashing now and again(desktop flashing and flickering).
I've only had this laptop for just over two months and am quite disappointed with issues coming up already.
To get to the specifics; I have recently been playing through the Mass Effect trilogy and, just the other day, started up a file in Skyrim. The following screenshots show my biggest issues aside from the obviously serious driver crashing issues. I believe the issues started maybe a month into owning this laptop and since it has been getting progressively worse. I feel as though I have been all over the internet trying to find a fix to this, I've tried everything suggested, everything that I could think of, and I am just about ready to have it sent back. I was hoping someone may have some other options before I do send it in.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8koa8f8i1z9j3d/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2040%2044%20AM.jpg?dl=0
On the title screen for Mass Effect 3 I get these consistent blue and red glowing orbs, they also occur on several other maps within gameplay.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9c47w320u5xylb/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2043%2016%20AM.jpg?dl=0
Once I get in-game, this occurs everywhere. Textures "expanding" off of characters into random points.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/v37un4vespalosx/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2045%2036%20AM.jpg?dl=0
This happens occassionally on characters; ridiculously shadowed faces to the point where they are barely recognisable.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/8cebgs4t10ghnh0/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2046%2020%20AM.jpg?dl=0
On almost all wall textures there are white glowing particles like the ones behind the character here. In extreme cases, the wall becomes a texture of textures. All of the textures in the game are miniaturized into a wall of textures on certain objects.
I've also had signs and the game's menus and interface stretched and skewed all over the place. If I continue to play it with the above issues, the game eventually hangs and I have to alt+tab out and back in, or close it using the task manager. All of these issues also occur in Skyrim and any game using the same, or similar, engines. The only game I have been able to play almost seamlessly without any issues is Ragnarok Online 2, an online MMORPG.
    I have tried the following:
nVidia's GeForce Control Panel: any and all combination of options.
    Re-installing video drivers.
    Re-installing DirectX and PhysX.
Formatting and a fresh install of Windows and all games and drivers.
Any other troubleshooting other forums have provided.
Removing the pagefile for virtual memory limits.
Using Intel HD graphics to test for other issues.
    PC/nVidia power settings.
The one time I thought it may be fixed, all it took was me plugging in my laptop to cause the issues all over again. I've tried downloading MSi Afterburner to check GPU temperatures and I rarely even go over 65~70. I'm absolutely out of ideas. It was suggested to me by a family member that it may be a hardware issue, hence the consideration for sending it in.
    I'm running Windows 7 64-bit
    nVidia GeForce GTX 860M
    Intel Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz
    12GB of RAM
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. I would really rather not have to send it back. I've also posted this over at the nVidia forums because I'm -hoping- it's a software issue.
    Thanks in advance!

To me it sounds like a hardware issue (especially if you have rolled back to factory default and reinstalled from scratch)
It wouldn't be a hardware issue since you can play other games without problem.
Easiest way to tell if it's a hardware issue or not is to run the benchmark tool for example 3DMark 11 and see if the problem also happens during the benchmark.
For the rendering problem you were talking, please provide not only the problem picture but also the picture without problem to let us make the comparison.
I'm sorry to say, but some of the picture I'm not really getting what the problem you're talking about.
For the shadow face, here are few user provided fix which might be helpful.

    Re-installing DirectX and PhysX.
NVIDIA moderator says some of the games is required to play some older Physx games, but not sure if it works.
If you would like to have a try.

I'd suggest to post the issue on EA, steam or obioware and see if there are people looking into it.

  • Graphics issues with MacBook Pro 15-inch Late 2011 model

I have a MB Pro 15-inch late 2011 (2.4GHz Core i7) and recently I started to get random screen glitches while working on photoshop and illustrator and then eventually the screen went totally blank and so I paid to have the graphics chip replaced (as I was out of warranty).
After 2 weeks, the same glitches have started again so I did some internet research and discovered that that there are thousands of other people around the world who had similar issues in this particular model range that uses the AMD Graphics chipset (Radeon HD 6770M) combined with the Intel HD Graphics 3000 on the same motherboard.
Does anyone know if Apple has announced a recall / replacement programme for this model as it appears to be a widespread issue ?
    Thanks
    Rohit

There is an online campaign at change.org which has crossed 10,000 signatories (or is about to) that should prove that there is an issue.
From my analysis, the problem is the AMC Radeon GPU that is the problem - there is some compatibility issue with the logic board. I just paid to get the problem solved, but it has come back again in less than a a week. I installed gfcCardStatus to control which graphics chips are being used and found that when the Intel HD chipset is used, there is no issue, but when it switches to the AMD chipset, the problem returns.
There is certainly an issue and it's widespread and I am sure that this will come back to bite apple in the ***...
I think their issue is probably that the fault lies in AMD's chips and not their circuitry which is probably why they don't want to bear the cost of a recall program unless AMD contribute to the costs...which they won't because Apple have pretty much stopped using AMD GPUs and use nVidia instead now.
Anyway, I'm going to go back to the repair folks and have them re-fix the issue as it's covered by their warranty. Let me know if you have any more luck on your end.
