iMac will not complete booting up or even safe boot after I dragged a folder full of fonts into my library/fonts folder. Is there any way to access the fonts folder and remove them?

What you need is Time Machine. It will solve this problem. Just go back "in time" and correct the problem. You will need to reboot from your install disks.
If you don't use Time Machine, then thats another problem all together...

Is there any way of fixing this? I've tried the usual: triple checked all vga cables & devices through trial & error. Bought a new DVI-VGA adapter. Reset PRAM, PMU, etc. Nothing works. Something is probably damaged, because my KVM switch was not working unless I hot-reseated the vga cable into it, leading to this DVI port, and that is pretty rough stuff.

This dovetails into this: Can I drive a VGA monitor with the s-video output port on this computer. It would take an s-video (male)-to-15-pin-VGA adapter. Has anyone does this? So far, I haven't even found the adapter mentioned anywhere.

Thanks for the useful feedback, Knucklesmac. I agree. I must have blown something on the logic board -- because I had a faulty old KVM switch that would not switch between computers without some nasty hot-plugging/unplugging the VGA video cables. (wince!). It's like when Dizzy Dean ruined his arm because a line drive hit him in the foot and he readjusted his mechanics around the injury. I take the blame because this has been a great computer, and does not deserve any blame.

My password only works to log into the computer, but not to make admin changes, even though I am the admin account on the computer. This happened after I tried to change the computer's name. Is there any way to fix this?

Bought my laptop off my room mate and he had master reset it to default. This still left his name as the computer name and I wanted to change that. Tried to rename it under the advanced changes section, and now it isn't recognizing my password for anything more than logging in. Jailbroken phones often cannot be fixed. Apple released a warning about this years ago:

Trying to download mountain lion but not impressed first time didnt load all and now trying to download again and it just freezes for days and never commits it in full can you help or is there any way to revers back to snow leopard

I have tryed to load mountain lion several times and it just freezes for days on end is ther any way of reversing my dession back to snow leopard as i think it too muctch to dowload and when it does parts are missing and my epson scanner 3170 photo does not work as effeciant as it did i am not to pleased with it at all and think this download should be on a disk.

If you don't have a backup make one now of all your own data, you can just drag your Documents folder to another disk, assuming that is where you keep your own data. Then erase the disk with Disk Utility by booting up holding cmd-r. Choose Disk Utility > Erase tab from the screen that is presented. Then install from your SL disk.

Mac Mini fan on high, UI frozen. Had to shut it off. Any way to tell what the problem was when I boot it back up?

I leave my Mac Mini on constantly as a HTPC. I came home after being at work all day to find the fan on high and the lock screen incredibly sluggish. I have no idea how long it was like that, it's never done anything like it before. I couldn't login because it was too slow, I had to force it to shut off. Is there any way to see what it could've been when I boot it up, such as log files or something like that? I did run the hardware test of the original installer disc and no trouble was found and I am out of options. Does anybody have any advice what to do next

If the drive shows errors then repair, if after the 3rd pass of Repair Disk in Disk Utility it still shows errors it's telling you it's time to be replaced. Take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for repair, when it comes back use your backup (either Time Machine or bootable clone) to restore so you can pick up where you left off.

In Finder, just drag the divider bar further to the right while holding down the option key to see the full label (using the 'option' key will make the width preference stick).
On the desktop icon, hold down 'contro'l and click on the icon. Choose 'Show view options' then make the grid spacing larger.
