Intel iris pro on windows 8

I have mbpr 15" mid 2014 and my macbook has 2 graphics card. I use windows with bootcamp but I cant use intel grapics I must use gt750m. Usually I dont need high performance so ı want to use intel card these times. Is it possible?

As far as I know you can't but if you don't need the nvidia then don't use boot camp use a virtual machine oracles virtual box is free and easier to to work with than bootcamp

  • Performance of AIR Windows desktop app on Intel i7 4770R & integrated Intel Iris Pro 5200 128MB

I'm developing a Full HD AIR desktop application to run on Windows, and it is likely to use the classic display list, rather than Starling. There will be quite a bit of animation on screen, mostly using GSAP Tween engine.
I usually spec a fast i5 / i7 CPU, with a decent NVidia card such as a Geforce GTX 560. My hardware supplier has advised they cannot provide my requested CPU & GPU combination, and have instead recommended an Intel Core i7 4770R (quad-core, 3.2 GHz) (Turbo up to 3.9 GHz), with integrated graphics Intel Iris Pro 5200 w/128MB eDRAM. The specification of the CPU & GPU look ok, but I wondered if anyone has any experience of using either this CPU or GPU with AIR desktop applications, and what they think to the performance? Should the low amount of 128MB RAM on the integrated graphics be a concern?

1.Make sure you understand the big differences between video and stagevideo, its tempting to think that stagevideo is the better videosoultion in any case, but its not.
The best Article (however a little outdated) on the subject is imo: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/stage_video.html
2.In a performance heavy environment the combination stageVideo+greensock might not be the optimal solution, if you have time to reprogram Starling/feathers will probably give you a much better performing combination:
    http://forum.starling-framework.org/topic/stagevideo-with-starling-example
3.I don`t know how you encode your Backgroundvideo, there are literally dozens of viable codecs that should differ extremly in how they stress the gpu/cpu. Maybe you have to experiment with a lower than HD resoultion and see if scaling up the background is a good compromise.

  • Is the Intel Iris Pro in the new 15" rMBP sufficient for my needs?

Greetings all! Long time reader, first time poster here
I've been holding off purchasing a new machine until the new rMBP models were released, and...here they are finally!
My goal here is to find out if the integrated GPU (15" rMBP) is going to be good enough for my usage pattern, versus spending the extra money and getting the model with the GeForce GT 750m GPU. I work as a Web Developer primarily; with some iOS/Android dev on the side (xCode & Eclipse mainly). Photoshop use is a daily occurance, but I don't do anything overly technical with it...mainly just chopping up PSD's for front-end web dev.
The reason i'm curious about the GPU is because of the light gaming I plan on doing. I plan on selling off my current MBP(2010) and also getting rid of my windows desktop that is used solely for gaming. The only games I play, and the only ones I will be playing for the forseeable future are World of Warcraft and some Diablo 3 perhaps. I'm not expecting top tier performance, i'm not expecting it rival the graphics performance of my desktop. Will I lose graphics power if I choose the entry level model that was just released today, when compared to the entry level 15" rMBP that has been on the market up until now? If so, is the difference negligible? I'm 100% on board for the Crystalwell processor, so I need to make sure that I get enough GPU power for my WoW addiction ^_^
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks a ton!
    ~Steve

WoW and D3 should run very well with the integrated Intel Iris Pro 5200 (rMBP 15")...:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Intel Iris Pro Graphics in Macs

    Hey everyone,
Does anyone know if Premiere Pro CC supports GPU acceleration with Intel Iris Pro Graphics from the new Macbook Pros? This video from Intel clearly shows that it's possible for Windows but what about Macs?
    http://software.intel.com/en-us/videos/accelerating-video-production-with-opencl-and-intel -iris-graphics
I'm interested because I know OpenCl performance with Iris Pro should be stellar compared to Nvidia 650m and 750m.
    Thanks!

Good question. I'm also trying to figure that out. The 15" Macbook Pro has the Intel Iris Pro Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB. Whereas the 13" has the Intel Iris Graphics 6100. I prefer the smaller size laptop but am concerned about the Gfx.

  • Integrated Intel Iris Pro graphics adapter in boot camp

    Hello
How can I use integrated Intel Iris Pro graphics adapter in boot camp on my new Haswell Macbook pro?
It is really important in order to get decent battery time.
    Best regards
    Jesper

For some odd reason Apple has restricted Mac computer from using that graphics adapter when you are using Windows and your Mac has a add-on, discrete, graphics card installed.
If you do a google search on it no one has been able to make it work on a Mac.

  • Intel Iris Pro and Boot Camp Gaming?

So I'm just wondering how the Intel Iris Pro, and Boot Camp Gaming go together? I just got a 15inch Mac Book Pro with:
    2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
    Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
    8GB 1600MHz memory
    256GB PCIe-based flash storage
    Intel Iris Pro Graphics
My question is, can this Macbook run games, (or just Star Wars the Old Republic), in max settings in Boot Camp?

I am assuming this is a custom-built dust prevention solution, yes?
Anyways, I received my replacement SuperDrive and just realized that due to Windows and Mac's limitations in regards to hard drives larger than 2.2 TB, I can't have any of my 3TB drives with both OS X and Windows without having at least two separate HFS partitions on them since the Windows partition must be in the fourth partition, requiring OS X to be in partition 2, Recovery in partition 3, and the combined size of these first four partitions must be under 2.2 TB.
At least that's my understanding.  I currently have three 3 TB drives and one 1 TB drive (which contains Windows XP and 7 only).
I'm not really not sure if Windows has to be in the fourth partition because as I mentioned, my 1 TB drive has EFI in partition 1, Windows XP in partition 2, and Windows 7 in partition 3.  I have OS 10.9 on one 3 TB drive, OS 10.7 on the second 3 TB drive, and no OS on the third 3 TB drive.  I would prefer to install Windows 8 on that third 3 TB drive and yet have only one HFS partition because my desktop is already seemingly over-crowded with all the internal drives and partitions it has (I also have a 500GB SSD drive which is my 10.10 boot volume, plugged into one of the two unused SATA motherboard ports).
My plan is to first determine if I can now break the 1 TB drive barrier I ran into before and install two Windows OSs on a 2 TB drive (technically, I am going to clone my 1 TB Windows partitions onto the 2 TB drive).  Next, I will attempt to partition a 3 TB drive with Windows 8 in partition 2 and HFS in partition 3.

  • Which graphic card is best for running illustrator (an Intel Iris Pro or Nvedia)?

I am thinking on buying a new machine for carrying on my job. Uptill now i was working on windows with an iGPU and i was facing problems in rendering effects or generating previews in Adobe Illustrator. Now i am looking for a good dedicated GPU which can easily take its load. I do moderately heavy works (average file size 150mb).

No, its not a dedicated GPU. But still will it able to do the job? i am thinking of buying a 15" macbook.
The 15"retina version has these three options for graphics
    -Intel iris graphics
    -intel Iris pro graphics
-intel iris pro graphics + nvidia GeForce GT750m
The later two are kinda out of budget and i also think that these are way more than what i be actually needing. So, will Intel iris graphic be fine or i should look for some other machine (Dell or ASUS) with NVIDIA graphics since apple has no options for NVIDIA in lower versions.

  • Intel Iris Pro on a mac mini?

    Hello to everyone,
well I suppose that Apple is going to replace all intel 4000 GPU with the Intel Iris Pro. Is there any information about using this hardware in mac mini too? Is there any official anouncement about that? This Iris Pro is sharing the CPU or is it a part of it? Does this GPU has any GDDR5 VRAM or it is using the DDR3 main system RAM? Does this Iris Pro gives better results than a seperately GPU with even 512MB GDDR5 memory?

Iris and Iris Pro are the integrated graphics that come with
the Haswell series processors.  It is not a "seperate" option.
As far as the performance and architecture of Iris or Iris Pro,
Google and after the first few hits you should understand how it
    works.
As to what will be in the next gen Mini and when it will be released,
only the insiders at Apple know that and they can't talk.
I will say that the Mini has had the same form factor for quite a
while, so maybe there will be a complete make over.

  • Intel Iris Pro GPU in new Macbook Pros supported by the Mercury Playback Engine?

Is the Intel Iris Pro GPU in the new Macbook Pros supported by the Mercury Playback Engine?

    Hi,
I've been wondering the same thing. I watched this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATKDuQOQw9k
if you jump to 07:50 the dude clearly shows that it IS supported in PPRo CC (which I have), but when I go to the project settings on my new MBP 15" with identical specs, the area where I can select gpu support is greyed out with no options to change from software only. Did the expert guy in the video accidentally show the settings from his old NVIDIA MBP? Very confusing!! Also, there's a lot of publicity around the Intel Iris Pro's great ability to render Open CL with Adobe PPRo. And even a video about it here:
    http://software.intel.com/en-us/videos/accelerating-video-production-with-opencl-and-intel -iris-graphics
Is this only for PC?? If so I imagine Adobe can get this going on Mac pretty damn fast, no?
    Please advise Adobe folk!
    Thanks!

  • What is the difference between the Intel HD Graphics 5000 and the Intel Iris Pro Graphics in  the current iMacs

What is the difference between the Intel HD Graphics 5000 and the Intel Iris Pro Graphics in  the current iMacs?

I am assuming you are talking about PPC Macs? Those haven't been manufactured or sold in years (since early 2006 I believe) when Apple started using Intel processors. There are still some apps which run on PPC code only which makes them incompatible with the last three Mac operating systems.
There are different Applecare products depending on which Mac product you buy, although the coverage is about the same (except for iOS devices).

Yes that will be plenty of machine. If you can afford 27" iMac I'd  upgrade the RAM beyond 16GBm. You don't have to purchase RAM from Apple on the 27" models, you can save money by upgrading the RAM yourself on the 27", doing so is a 10 minute job and doesn't require any tools.
