Intel's Quick Sync transcode support in Flash Encoder?

Intel just released their generation 2 Sandybridge Processors. Initial reviews are showing amazing encoding performance. Apparantly applications have to support this new technology to take advantage of the performance gains.
Any word on if Adobe is going to support Intel Quick Sync technology in Flash Media encoder?

I'm also very interested in seeing FMLE incorporate this functionality. I understand that there is an Intel Quick Sync plugin for Premiere Pro/Premiere Elements, so I would think and hope that this is a relatively simple feature to add.

No virtu support in msi z77a gd55: how to use quick sync then?

Hello there,
Being unaware at purchase time, i wonder how can i use quick sync of intel when in d-mode with z77A GD55? I ask this because no lucid hydra/virtu from msi download page. I know the cd contains it but it is not offered to be installed since the board is not lucid signed. If i force install it, the software runs in trial mode which is because of no license from the board. Are the virtu and virtu mvp actually different program? If no virtu support so whats the deal with bios settings to control lucid virtu?
Please help, it is with this issue that i have lost confidence using msi board (based on the fact that overclocking sucks too since the latest bios 1.3 vdroop control is useless and no offset voltage). So if this can be solved, i have some positive point to at least retain the board as my own. Thanks.

Quick sync is not a replacement for Virtu. They are two different products.
Quick sync transcodes movies using the Intel IGPU.

Z77A-GD65 Quick Sync with Virtu MVP Issue

Hi everyone! My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but my searching didn't find anything conclusive. I'm a very happy convert from an EVGA P67 SLI board (ugh) to an MSI Z77A-GD65 (YAY!) So far, I absolutely love this board but I'm having an issue I hope someone can answer. I run a YouTube channel and render a lot of video using Sony Movie Studio Platinum. This product is supposed to support Intel's Quick Sync technology to greatly speed up processing times. Normally, you need to have a monitor running off the IGP for this to be available but Virtu MVP is supposed to get around this. I have a GTX770 as my main video card and a Core i7-2600K which is confirmed to support Quick Sync. However, I've had no luck getting Quick Sync to appear as available to Movie Studio Platinum. Here's what I've done:
1. Enabled IGP in the BIOS (also tried making it the primary display adapter, didn't change anything.)
2. Installed latest drivers for both Intel HD 3000 and my GTX770. Both are available to the system.
3. Set Virtu MVP as D-Mode (either mode supposedly enables Quick Sync and D-Mode's obviously better for gaming.)
4. Installed the Virtu MVP software and created a profile for Movie Studio Platinum. Tried it in both D-Mode and I-Mode through the software.
The short of it is that Movie Studio Platinum does not recognise Quick Sync as being available. It's just not selectable which means it can't detect it. I've also tried plugging my secondary monitor directly into the IGP. This isn't supposed to be necessary with Virtu MVP but I don't game on my second monitor so whatever. Still nothing. I'm kind of at a loss for what to do now. I've been told that most mainboards require you to enable Quick Sync specifically in the BIOS but I don't see that option. Is it just always enabled when the IGP is on this board or does it have to be toggled elsewhere?
If anyone has advice on this, I would really appreciate it. My purchase of this board wasn't contingent on Quick Sync but given the amount of video rendering I'm doing right now, having that acceleration would be a massive boon to me. This feels like I'm just missing something simple. Any advice people can offer? Thanks a ton everyone!

I'm pleased to report that my Quick Sync issue has been resolved and well, it was pretty much my fault. Turns out only certain rendering profiles in Movie Studio Platinum are able to use Quick Sync. Their documentation didn't make this clear but I stumbled over the solution and it's working like a charm. Thanks!

You can use those plugins for 32-bit versions of Premiere Elements 10. PrE10 also has a 64-bit version and that will not support 3rd party 32-bit plugins.

QuickTime Player version 7 was released in April, 2005 and has had modest updates since but Windows development has ended and soon the Mac version will be completely replaced by QuickTime X.

All the developers are under NDA so I didn't say anything before but it is apparent from public domain sources that OSX lion has the APIs for this (which were not available before) so this functionality will be available as soon as Lion is released. Pretty awesome, eh!

Intel Quick Sync disabled when discrete card installed on IB and z77a-g45 board

Hi all I have an msi z77a-g45 motherboard with an intel IB 3570K CPU. Recently I install an AMD 7770 graphics card and the on board-graphics is switched off. Now I can't use the intel quick sync to encode my videos. The GPU acceleration for the AMD 7770 is there but the quality is terrible compared to the quick sync and the file is huge ie 46MB for the IB encode and 140MB for the AMD 7770 encode with same settings and output, don't know why. I have read about the lucid virtu software but it does not work or detects my IB 3570K CPU. I have also tried plugging in the HDMI monitor cable to the motherboard instead of the video card but the screen display a no signal message. The problem is I want to use the intel quick sync to encode my videos and my AMD 7770 graphics card to play games, is there a good way to do this instead of plugging and unplugging the video card. Thanks in advance for your help.

You can only use QuickSync without a dedicated graphics. As soon as a VGA card is inserted, it will override the IGP and thus QuickSync is not available.
Only way is to turn off dedicated in windows and reconnect the monitor to the IGP and reboot, or completely remove the dedicated.
I have the same issue with my setup.

Cannot activate Quick Sync in H61MU-E33-B3

I purchased an H61MU-E33-B3 at Micro Center in Santa Clara, California, installed an second generation core i3 and I only get Standard VGA Graphics.
I updated the BIOS using the Live Update Online today, so it has the latest.
Tried booting to DVI-D, HDMI and I cannot get the Intel Integrated HD Graphics to work, only standard VGA (up to 1280x1024 but not the full capabilities of the 2nd generation core i3, Sandy Bridge).
The only thing I have not tried is the CD that came with the card as my set-up does not have a CD player.
Has anybody been able to make the H61MU-E33-B3 run the Intel Integrated HD Graphics?

Yes you could but that also displays the debug movie console which is uneccessary if you just want to quickly test your movie.
I find myself using Test Movie hundreds of times a day and I just want a clean, quick, uncluttered view of how my work will look.
I do use Debug Movie but only occasionally.
More importantly though is that I'm not sure FP11 is ready yet. Its got a pretty horrible bug that really affects my work:

Using iGPU and Quick Sync on Core i5-2500K with Premiere Elements

I've downloaded the prototype plugin from Intel for Premiere Elements to make use of the iGPU built into the new 2500K Intel chip and has successfully following the install instructions.

From the description on the page you linked to you select the plug-in as an encoder when Sharing. If you select it and successfully create a Share then it must be working.
For Adobe Premiere Elements: The new encoder is exposed
via the "Share" tab, by selecting “Personal Computer” then “Others –
Third Party Plug-ins”. The encoding parameters can be explored and
modified by clicking on the “Advanced…” button. After installing the
plug-in (see below) only one encoder preset is available. The user can
create their own presets by modifying default preset and then saving new
preset.

There isn’t anything in the UI to let you select all the sizes, that will come in the next update hopefully (which won’t be for a few months). But, you can edit the app descriptor XML to add the missing sizes, and Flash CC will not delete those new lines.
For what it’s worth, when you switch between iOS and Android publishing of the same app, all the icons are deleted from the XML, so you need to find a solution to that problem. I keep a text file like this:

and I just copy and paste the right block of icons into the XML. That way with a new app I don’t even have to select a single size in Flash, let alone 18 of them.
If you’re seeing the new sizes be deleted from the XML, either you’re using something earlier than the release version of AIR 3.9, or you haven’t done the Flash CC update from last week.
