Intel Software Starter Pack?

I bought a HP Split x2 13-g110dx Ultrabook from the store and I would like to know where to get the Intel Software Starter Pack. Acording to http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat12178&type=page&contentId=1219080273245&h=287 it says that "the master key is printed on the store receipt." but where is it?

Should be 3/4 the way down your receipt. Did u provide an email address at time of purchase?
I used to work for Best Buy as an Apple Specialist, but all my comments, posts and opinions are my own and do not in anyway reflect Best Buy. Mostly because I think the exact opposite as Best Buy anyway

Im trying to update my zen stone(which im so glad i bought)with the update software app(new starter pack) that was released oct 22 07 ut am getting string errors.First i tried using the update software in media lite and i get string errors.
i quote : string id 2225 not found plus string id 2208 not found.
I tried installing a couple of time with no apps open and i get the same error. I also tried dloading the app from creative support site myself and when i try install it i get the same error.
The q Is there a problem with the new update or is it my pc.
I am using XP professional:52 Ram.
My current software version is .06.0.
The file im trying to update is ZENStone_PCApp_CLE_ L6_0_08(4.64 MB)
Id appreciate anyones feedback on this as id like to keep my player uptodate when it comes to critical updates like this.

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

  • How to use Intel Rapid Start technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531 computer?

I have a Thinkpad Edge 531 (model 6885-73G) preloaded with Windows 7 64bit. According to the appropriate user guide (see Thinkpad E531 User Guide - page 108) and chipset specifications Mobile Intel® HM77 Express this ThinkPad model supports Intel Rapid Start Technology with a special partition on the SSD M.2.Such an SSD with the specification M.2 (see MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2) I bought it and installed successfully on my ThinkPad, which can run a cache software FNet HybriDisk on.
However, even if I proceed exactly according to the installation script by Intel, see (Intel Rapid Start Technology User Guide) or by the installation script by Lenovo community, (see Edge E330 and Intel Rapid Start), I can not put into operation Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad, although I use the installed SSD disk with an alone partition of appropriate type (with ID type 84 on MBR) with more allocated space than the size of RAM for my ThinkPad and with the currently deployed version of BIOS (1.29) and current drivers, such is Intel (R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver version 11.1.5.1001 downloaded from the webiste of Lenovo support for this model ThinkPad Edge 531.
Since, in my opinion, based on the above specifications declared by the manufacturer Lenovo and Intel, this ThinkPad model should support Intel Rapid Start Technology, I would like therefore to know how this technology on my ThinkPad to put into operation, because of which I also bought this ThinkPad model. Does exist for this model ThinkPad Edge 531 some specific deployment scenario of Intel Rapid Start Technology? Does anyone have any practical experience with the launch of this technology on those ThinkPad models? Can it be expected that the full support of Intel Rapid Start Technology for the ThinkPad Edge 531 will occur after the release of a new version of the BIOS or a new version of Solid State Drive Firmware Update Utility with support for MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2 published on the website of Lenovo support?
Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance with the launch of Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531.

  • Intel Rapid Start (30 Day Standby) with 32 GB RAM

Recently I bought new W540 with 8 GB RAM. Intel Rapid Start operated normally in this configuration. But when I upgraded RAM to 32 GB it hangs the laptop on second resuming from S4. I've done all the procedures to set it up properly: hibernation partition (35 GB) with id=84, latest drivers and so on.
So first time it goes to S3 (sleep), then S4 (hibernation by Intel Rapid Start) and successfully resumes from S4. Second time it goes to S3 and S4 too, but on resuming I see just black screen and blinking power button. This goes infinitely so I have to power off the laptop pressing power button for about 5-10 seconds. In case "Automatically restart" option is enabled in "Startup and Recovery" options, the laptop is just turns off.
So it is a system failure. When I boot the laptop after the failure, I see something like this in the system event log:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: D:\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 080114-229025-01.
I reproduced this behaviour in the factory installation, installed all Windows updates, updated Lenovo Power Manager, updated BIOS firmware, disabled all non-Microsoft services in msconfig, uninstall Lenovo Power Manager and install original Intel Rapid Start software (to test pure Intel technology). I reproduced the bug after every change described above. Next, I try two another RAM configurations: 16 GB and 24 GB. With 16 GB it operates normally, with 24 GB the problem reproduces.
    Model: 20BG0035RT
    OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1
    RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR-III SODIMM 16Gb KIT 2*8Gb PC3-12800 CL9 (KHX16LS9P1K2/16), successfully passed full test by F10

Sorry if this thread is too old, but this keeps bugging me so I'm bumping and responding.  I have the same issue with 32GB of RAM where I can resume once after a reboot, then the system won't quite power on on the second resume cycle. I've noticed that if I hibernate the system, I can also use Rapid Start once again.  So I can alternate between a (slightly slower) hibernate resume and a (slightly faster) Rapid Start resume Of course, it seems like a pretty silly use of HD space to maintain both a 16gb hiberfil.sys and a 32GB hibernation partition.
The problem doesn't exactly seem like it should be RAM related, but rather something about the system powering up again following a successful IRSRT resume cycle.
I can't figure out what's causing it but it keeps frustrating me!  There do seem to be other systems that handle the 32GB of RAM so there must be something with the BIOS implementation in the W series. I don't think it's a limitation of the software.

  • Your system does not appear to have intel rapid start technology

I have a Lenovo U310 with windows 8 and wish I could take it back. Problem after problem with this computer, both hardware and software related. I started getting this message about the Intel rapid start a couple of days ago. I went into this forum and one of the specilists suggested going into BIOS and change the SATA controller working mode to RAID and to enable IRST which I did. Now the computer can not start. It tries to load and it says that the recovery system failed. I can get to the BIOS menu again but I wont let me get to configuration screen. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks

    hi yzarate,
I'm sorry to hear what happened,
If the system is giving you a failed to start Option,  Restarting it May sometime give you option Like Safe mode,
If you're getting that, select that option and it should be able to start you system while in RAID then restart the system again once booted back up.
If you're not getting that message I would suggest go back to BIOS
go to the Exit TAB, Select Load optimized default or press F9 to load defaults, F10 to save and Exit and hit enter,
Try loading BIOS again and see if the configuration tab will be available,
    Best Regards

  • (Re)activate Intel Rapid start technolgy (RST) & RAID @U310

    Dear community,
I have been frustrated about this for long time. Got U310 with win8(24GB SSD+500GB HDD).
People says I should set RAID in BIOS. But I got only error and cannot do recovery. So I set back to ACHI mode and system restored. Then error: "Your system does not apear to have Intel Rapid Start technology enabled".
    - Yes, I have tried to set BIOS ACHI to RAID, no start.
    - SSD 24GB is in device manager, not paritioned.
    - intel RAID software installed
    - So the point is: I have to activate in BIOS ACHI to RAID, but then Pc will not start.
       So whats is the problem?
Now the partitions looks as this:
Could anyone help me, how to reactivate the RAID/ fast caching technolgy of RST?
Another frustration is: how to backup my system(win8) to USB media, so that I could restore factory state?
appreciate any advices, thanks in advance!

    Hi,  bradlutz1
thanks for your reply! How do you identify it is defective?  You have now a RAID enabled U310 or U410?
My SSD HD can be manually partitioned and use as a normal R/W HDD. Just it cannot set to RAID I think, which should be set to before install windows 8. checking into BIOS, the Intel Rapid Storage technolgy (iRST) is enabled. But I still have problem( see screenshot): How does it look like for yours?
On the other side, I use windows 8 recovery programm created a USB drive as recovery media. I want to use it to reset /recovery my PC to factory default with RAID eanbale.
First I set BOIS to RAID. Boot from HDD, but still failed, it says (I think AHCI could go thru):
Seeing from the partition picture in my first post, I think the last 20G partition is Lenovo recovery, but how to backup it and restore?
Very annoying also, the Lenovo program OneKey Recovery program 8.0(for win8) gives no option to create factory DVD/USB media, while its ver. 7 did:

BTW: my PC starts within 30s to login screen (w/o iRST), is it OK?

  • 9470m Intel Rapid Start, Intel Rapid Storage. Is it working?

When we image our Elitebook Folio 9470m SSD notebooks with Windows 7, part of the imaging process is to install Intel Rapid Storage and Rapid Start on all these notebooks.  We download the drivers from the support.hp.com driver download page for Windows 7 Profession 64-bit.
The software/drivers installs successfully with no errors, but as far as I can tell, the laptops are not booting or shutting down faster than other model laptops with SSDs that do not have this software installed.  May even be slower, because it seems like the Rapid Start Technology is hanging and delaying the the shut down process when we shut down the laptops.
We have verbose status messages enabled, so when shutting down the laptops, we often see a message saying something that roughly says in other words  "waiting for Intel Rapid Start Technology to shut down."
What is installing this software really accomplishing and is it effective on SSD disks and disks that have full disk encryption installed?
How can I tell if this software is doing the job it is supposed to be doing or maybe we should stop installing it on our notebooks all together?

Are these using regular 2.5 inch SSDs or mSATA mSSDs? I suspect the issue is with Intel Rapid Start. That is solely for the purpose of hibernating and recovering from hibernation faster. It really serves no other purpose and works optimally with an mSATA cache drive (which your model does not have) but does improve resume from sleep on any SSD. Intel Rapid Storage enables native command queing but that is in place anyway if the storage controller is set to ahci. I would also suspect that if your drives are encrypted fully, then Intel Rapid Start is having a problem trying to write startup information to the drive and that accounts for the hang at shutdown. Do you configure the laptops to use hibernation?
I would get two otherwise identical machines and configure one with and one without Intel Rapid Start and see if you notice any difference in bootup and shutdown time. Even on those where you have already installed Rapid Start, it can be turned off in the BIOS, thus disabling it. Personally I do not use hibernation so I do not enable Rapid Start in the BIOS and do not install the software. Rapid Storage should not cause a problem.

    2. I've update my bios
    3. When I've try reinstall the driver I got this error "this computer does not meet the min requirements for installing the software"
    I need help.
    tnx.

    hi O_hei,
If you're running on the 66cn52ww BIOS or above, I'm afraid the BIOS is limitting you from enabling the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.  For now, try to  uninstall the Intel Rapid Start Technology under Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs and Features to get rid of the "Your system does not appear to have Intel rapid start technology enable" error on startup.
Upon checking, the Yoga 13 here in the lab runs on the 66cn51ww BIOS and has the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
I recommend you visit the lenovo website once an updated BIOS is released that enable this feature.
    Best regards,

  • Intel Rapid Start Technology does not appear to be installed

How do I get rid of this message?
    It's an HP Envy dv7 Notebook, D0X38EA#ABU
I haven't upgraded any part of the hardware - it's  configured as it came out of the box. It's running Win 8.1
I have looked through the forum and downloaded manuals and it all gets extremely technical very quickly.  So I downloaded a driver from intel and it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".
I am just a simple user. I can guess that the Intel thing will make the computer boot faster. That would be nice but I'm not qualified to start faffing around in the BIOS. Nor do I want to be.
Please just tell me how to make the message go away. It's annoying.

  • Toshiba Satellite E55t-A5320 Intel Rapid Start Tech driver

After completely clearing my hard drive and reinstalling windows 8.1 I have had trouble installing the Intel Rapid Start Tech drivers. The error reads:
    Error: File not found
    Code: 800A0035
    Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
no idea what to do anyone else had this problem?

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday Feb 5!!!
During normal use of windows 7 the computer crashed and went through the same boot procedure as described by the previous poster.
Now I can't do anything with my hard drive. I tired everything. I even tried restoring it from the backup image that I have, but it said that it cannot find hard drive!
I do not have Toshiba Recovery. Can I download it from somewhere?
Does anyone have any suggestions? After booting from Win 7 Recovery Disk, I even tried fixing the MBR and partitions, but I would always get an error message that the system doesn't support the software I tried using (guessing because it's 64bit?)
Please, any suggestion is most welcome and appreciated!!!
    Thanks,

They fixed a bug that could have prevented the proper playback with some files. No more video types are supported by this firmware.
This firmware also once again enhanced the X-Fi Crystalizer feature (although it is not stated in the official description by Creative). It unfolds its full potential now IMO. The Creative Zen X-Fi has perfect sound quality.
@ Creative staff: Why is there no possibility to move a single track up/down in my playback list?
Even the old "Jukebox Zen Xtra" had this important feature.
Also why is the Zen X-Fi missing the ability to record from radio? The predecessor - the Zen - can do it (and the devices have many technical specifactions in common).
Also, I hope we'll get a T9 support for the nine buttons in the near future because the input method Creative technicians suggested is very uncomfortable.
