Intel usb 3.0 driver fails

Installed Windows 7 x64 on my Mac Mini.
Everything went fine.
Rebooting and so is ok.
Then I installed the Boot Camp Drivers which I downloaded via Boot Camp.
Problem:  My USB is completely gone. I can't use my keyboard or my mouse.
When I boot Windows Safe Mode and deinstall just the intel usb driver and reboot USB works again.
But the speed via USB is horrible. While using keyboard and mouse it doesn't matter.
But copying any sort of file takes ages.
Speed is like USB 1.0.
Installing Boot Camp again same result.
So what should I do?
I need the USB ports.

  • Driver Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series doesn't work with a specific Kingston USB

Hello guys, just the other problem I'm facing with the 840 G2
I'm working in the MDT image for the HP 840 G2 and I would like to comment you one problem that I found with the USB 3.0 drivers. Based in your webpage, the last HP USB 3.0 official drivers are:
Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series Products
    3.0.1.41 A from 15 dic 2014
I have found that those drivers doesn't work properly; if you insert a Kingston DTSE9 (32GB) the content of the usb will not be accessible randomly. The event viewer will display:
The driver detected a controller error on \device\harddisk1\DR13
To solve this problem you have to obtain the last version of the drivers from the Intel webpage:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/USB-3-0-Driver-Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Control...
I have all the drivers properly installed and it seems that the computer is working fine, however I'm a little worry thinking if I should update all the driver to avoid possible problem like this one.
If you have found similar problems it would be nice to share it.
    Thank you very much.

  • USB Console (Serial) Driver fails to install on Windows 8.1 x64

The USB console cable driver v3.1 will not install on Windows 8.1 x64.  Had a similar problem with Windows 7 x64 but this was fixed using Greg's (greggar25) excellent step-by-step procedure (see post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing).
I am using the driver from this link: http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282774228&flowid=7442&softwareid=282855122&release=3.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
I followed the same procedures I did for Windows 7 and the install goes without a hitch.  Reboot and connect the USB cable, opened Device Manager and now I have a COM Port randomly appearing and disappearing with its number incrementing well above 1,000.
A few times while it appeared for a few seconds, I was able to right click on the properties, update the driver and chose Cisco Serial and it settled down but it did not assign a COM port.  Then a few seconds later, it starts the disappearing/reappearing thing again.
Anyone have luck getting this to work with Windows 8.1 x64?

     Hi,
open Device Manager by simply typing the words on the Windows 8.1 Start Screen. The Search Charm opens and click Device Manager in the displayed list.
In Device Manager a new hardware category, CiscoUsbConsoleWindowsDriver, is displayed. It has two components: the Cisco Bus enumerator and the Cisco USB to Serial adapter. Expanding the Ports hardware category shows a new Cisco Serial port.
     or
    Look into below
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing
    1) Install the usb console driver\windows 64\setup(x64)
    2) Follow the wizard and accept the defaults
    3) Restart the computer (the installer usually says it needs a restart)
    4) After restarting the computer, plug in the usb cable
    5) The computer should say installing Device driver software and fail at the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00
    6) Click the Windows button, right click computer, manage
    7) Under Computer Management, Click Device Management
    8) Go to Ports (COM & LPT)
    9) You should see the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 with a Yellow Exclamation point on it
    10) Right Click on the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 and select Properties
    11) Click the Driver Tab
    12) Click Update Driver
    13) Select Browse my computer for driver software
    14) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    15) Choose the Cisco Serial Driver
    16) Device Driver is installed successfully, take note of the com port it is using and enjoy.

  • USB CDC-ECM driver failed to load on 10.5 & 10.6

    Hi,
I'm using a device with ECM.
On 10.7 and up the AppleUSBCDCECM driver loads automatically and I have tethering.
But on 10.5 & 10.6 the driver fails to load and the tetheing doesn't work.
    Someone have an idea?
    Thanks,
    Yaniv

Hmmm, in 10.5.8 PPC Mac I have version 3.2.13 of /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBCDCECMData .kext
And the same version of /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBCDCECMCont rol.kext
Is that what you have in 10.5?
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.

  • X99 Intel USB 3.0 Driver update

The latest on MSI's global site reads v3.0.0.34
The latest on Intel's site listed for series 8 (which I assume Haswell is), is v3.0.1.41
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22824
Given the host of USB problems I've been having:
    1) any external USB 2.0 audio interface either fails, stops working randomly or gets stuck
    2) my USB 2.0 Impulse 49 Midi Keyboard Controller occasionally gets stuck on a note
    3) My keyboard resets randomly turning numlock off
... Both 1&2 are plugged into the USB 2.0 ports next to the PS2 mouse jack.
I figured maybe this is worth installing.
Why is it not hosted on MSI's site?
Is there a compatibility issue? Am I looking at the correct driver for X99?
I have tried all manner of things. Went through 3 different audio interfaces now. That industry does not intend to upgrade to USB 3.0 for a very long time if at all from what I understand. I also ordered an PCIe USB 2.0 card to give that a shot from newegg, but I don't have high hopes. The next step is to drop $1000 just to get a PCIe Audio Interface, which is ludicrous.

  • G50-30 Intel USB 3.0 driver Windows 8.1 64bit

    Hello everyone,
I have just re-installed (after formatting) win 8.1 64bit on my lenovo G50-30.
After downloading every driver from support.lenovo.com, I noticed that there are no USB drivers available for Win 8.1.
The only driver I found on the website is for Win 7 64 bit. I actually tried to install it but the setup gets stuck with the following error:
"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".
I also tried to install everything  on administrator mode but without success, same error.
Is it possible that there are no drivers for Win 8.1? Frankly, this sounds quite embarassing.

    hi unifaun,
Under Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers, don't you see any USB 3.0 host controller? If not, what are the items there?
If you've already installed the Intel Chipset Driver, the USB 2.0-CRW is likely the Realtek Card Reader and the Unknown Device is likely the Lenovo Energy Management.
If the above drivers doesn't work, can you follow this guide on how to identify them via their Hardware ID.

The G500 does not find an updated driver online. I have deleted the ports in hardware mgr and it keeps re-instaling a bad driver. Ports work durring boot up, unill win 8.1 is loaded.

    Hi Clyder,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that the USB ports are not working as expected after computer boots to Windows, Hence I suggest you to install the driver from Inbox in administrator mode, while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error, please let me know the findings.

  • Error corrected import from USB drive fails

When I try to import CD tracks using an external USB CD/DVD drive, it fails if I have error correction turned on.

As it says in the flyer that comes with the program, you do not capture video from a DVD. You rip it from disc.
Place the finalized DVD in your computer's DVD player and then use Premiere Elements' Get Media/From DVD Camcorder or DVD Drive to open the Video Importer. Locate the DVD drive and rip the files to your computer and into your project. (Of course you'll need to ensure your project is set up for Hard Disk Camcorder/720x480 before you begin or you'll have problems with your project later.)
I detail, step by step, how to do all this in my books, if you're interested.

  • Slave drive, CDs, USB drives, Disk Images and FW drives fail to mount

Hi. I have two Maxtor internal hard drives (6Y160P0 and 6Y120P0), the second of which (6Y120P0) all of a sudden will not mount on the desktop. When I reboot my Mac, I get two identical error windows that state, “The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer”, with options to initialize, ignore, or eject. (There are no other drives of any type connected to the computer).
Within Disk Utility (when run from the primary hard drive), the slave drive shows up, but its icon is dimmed. Clicking the “Mount” button does nothing. Disk First Aid does not allow one to “Repair Permissions” nor “Repair Disk”, presumably since it won’t mount (eg, these options are dimmed). One odd aspect about Disk Utility is that the master and slave drive are listed as “disk0s10” and “disk1s10”, respectively, rather than the way they usually show up with the names I’ve given them. Yet on the desktop the working master drive shows up with its given name.
When I run Disk Itility from a CD, both internal drives look fine, accept repairs, and the drives are listed by their proper names.
As another interesting clue, all of the Disk Images (stored on the working master internal hard drive) that I have attempted to mount fail to open as well. When I doubleclick them, I get an error that reads, “The following disk images failed to mount: Reason: No mountable file systems”.
Two different USB keychains fail to mount; my FW drive fails to mount.
I’ve run Applejack Auto Restart without any difficulty several times.
Apple's Hardware check CD says all is AOK.
I’ve rebuilt this problematic disk (and the master) several times with Disk Warrior 3.03 and all is supposedly AOK.
SmartReporter says both disks are fine.
TechTool Pro 4.1.2 has run the following checks on the problem disk and these are AOK: Disk Controller, SMART, Read/Write.
All of this makes me wonder if the issue is with my system software, rather than the slave disk??? Interestingly, CDs refuse to mount as well when I've booted from the primary hard drive (but I don't think it is the CD drive itself since I can boot from the CD drive). This, coupled with the fact that disk images won't mount, makes me now think it is an OS issue rather than hardware.
Any suggestions about what I can do to salvage and fix this problem would be greatly appreciated!
    G4/867MHz running OS 10.4.8

If anyone else is having this problem, check out the totally awesome post by GNJ to my similar query on the MacFixIt forums:
Drives and Disk Images refuse to mount
    http://www.macfixitforums.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=tiger&Number=791320&Forum= &Words=CharPatton&Match=Username&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=6months&Main=791320&S earch=true#Post791320
His suggestion to run the 10.4.8 combined PPC update worked like a charm and solved the problem perfectly!
PS If you are having the same issue, there is the problem that one can't use a USB/FW drive to get the combo updater onto the problematic hard drive, and even if you can, the faulty software won't allow one to mount a .dmg image. This can be solved by using "Target" mode, eg connect the problematic CPU to a working CPU (in this case, my PowerBook) via a FW cable, then boot up the problem CPU while holding down the letter "t". One can then drag the combined updater unstuffed file (eg, not the .dmg) directly to the problematic disk from the working CPU. Then, when I booted in the problematic disk/CPU, all it took was a doubleclick on the unstuffed updater and all was fine.

  • X1 Carbon USB 3.0 port failed on Hitachi TOURO drive

I bought a portable USB drive TOURO Mobile MX3 1TB last night.  It failed to work with the USB 3.0 port on my X1C.  It works fine with the normal USB 2.0 port, slower of course.
I checked the USB controller driver is the lastest.  Just don't know how to solve this issue.

I borrowed a WD USB 3.0 drive from a friend, and plugged into my X1C USB3.0 port.  It works like magic.  So I bought one WD drive myself.
Conclusion is the X1C USB 3.0 port is not compatible with the Hitachi TOURO drive.  Strange thing does happen sometimes.

  • MDT 2012 deploy OS from USB external drive failed - need to unplug and plug it once again

We are using MDT 2012 and deploying Windows 7 using media (USB external hard drive). We can successfully deploy Windows 7 32 bit using this method but there is a problem with deploying Windows 7 64bit. This problem appears only on HP EliteBook 840. We can
boot into WinPE 64 bit and can start proper task sequence, all image is applied then after restart, before logon screen appears there is an error saying that cannot find litetouch.vbs script. After clicking ok, I can logon to Windows and there is no usb external
drive recognized. But when I unplug and plug usb drive once again it is recognized by Windows and can be used. I can see that Windows install some drivers just after plug it again
I checked BIOS looking for some USB power options - there is no such settings. And 32 bit deployment works ok. So this is not a case. Looks for me like a problem with proper usb drivers for 64 bit. I download all drivers from HP website (driver pack and
drivers only for USB 3.0). We are using make and model matching in MDT - works ok for all the rest hardware models. Any idea how to troubleshoot it?

Not sure what's going on here. Is this a USB "Flash" drive or a USB "Hard Drive". There *Is* a distinction.
I *thought* that MDT would copy itself to the c:\minint\scripts folder to continue installation.
Next time, when you see this error, Press Shift-F10 to get into a cmd.exe prompt. Can you find litetouch.vbs on any of the drives? Does the USB Drive appear?
IF in fact, the USB Drive is not appearing after the 1st reboot, then you have a problem. Why did the USB 3.0 driver not install. Check the Driver Installation Logs to verify.

  • I have a 27" imac (intel) my hard drive failed and I installed a new one. This is my first time dealing with this so I am having trouble re-installing the OS. Install disc spits out and ? mark with folder appears what am I missing?

Like the title says. My 1 TB drive failed and unfortunately my computer isn't covered on the replacement program even though my hard drive is the one they are claiming to replace. So that is not a solution just to get that out of the way. So I replaced the hard drive. What I am having trouble with is re-installing my OS. I have 10.6. When I load it and restart it just spits it out and I get the question mark folder. What am I doing wrong is there a step I'm missing? I did do a back up to my Time Machine before the crash. Can I plug it into it and reload format? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.

  • ATV + USB 2.0 Drive + Airport Extreme Wireless-n + Intel iMac = BROKEN!!!

I have just dumped a sh*tload of money into getting an Apple TV. I purchased:
    1. Airport Extreme @ $180 + tax
    2. Apple TV @ $300 + tax
    3. 2 - 500 GB hard drives @ $218 + tax
    4. 1 - dual drive enclosure to make drives 1 TB @ $80 + tax
My first problem is that I can't use the airport extreme with WEP. It just won't connect to the internet, I have to use it without security.
I plugged in my Apple TV connected to my iMac. I can stream video without any problems with this config. BUT I don't have ANY local hard drive space so I got the external drive.
I started noticing that there is a 15% white flicker on the screen, VERY ANNOYING.
I transferred my iTunes library to the external 1 TB drive, plugged it into my Airport Extreme, setup the drive to display on my desktop, pointed my iTunes library to it across the network. This works ok on the compter.
My ATV would not connect to my iMac anymore. I spent hours trying to get it to work. I finally hit RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS and was able to connect and stream. After about 20 minutes of streaming it stopped and ATV no longer was connected to my iMac. I spent another few hours trying to get it to connect again, but it won't.
I moved my 1 TB USB 2.0 drive and plugged it directly into the iMac, I re-pointed my iTunes library to get it from the local USB drive. The ATV now connects just fine.
I started streaming a movie to watch and I can only watch it in 30 second chunks! Every 30 seconds it spends another 30 seconds buffering. Then it starts playing again for 30 seconds and then buffers again. It does this for all video content, BUT when it was connected through the network it was streaming just fine.
So I said, "fine, just for tonight I will sync this movie so I can at least watch it since I have wasted hours upon hours struggling to get this to work." I synced the movie but it just spins and never transfers over.
How can something so expensive work sooooooo poorly????????????? Was an $800 investment not enough? Not to mention all the money I spend at the iTunes store.
    WHAAAAT THEEEEEEE F******************K IS WRONG!?!?!?!?!?!?

Network problems can be difficult to diagnose, but there are a couple of problem areas I can see with your set up.
Network drives are notoriously slow, moving your drive to a direct connection to your mac will speed up access to it between 15 and 70 times depending on the type of connection you use.
I note you have combined two drives in a single enclosure, RAID drives are not supported as airdisks although certain RAID levels have been seen to work but others haven't.
Loading the drive attached to your mac and moving it can be problematic. It is possible that you can load files with certain characters in their filename that are not acceptable when loaded over a network.
If you have a flicker on your video, my first thought would be a poor or damaged connection/lead.

  • Edge E531 Intel USB 3.0 problem Windows XP

    Hello,
I am having problems using the two usb 3.0 ports on my e531 in windows xp.
Basically all devices which use generic usb drivers like ext hardrive, usb stick, etc don't work at all when plugged into the USB 3.0 slots. (on the USB 2.0 slot everything works fine- but its only one slot).
I looked for Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver but it;s not available for windows XP.
    What they say is this:
The Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver is not supported in Windows* XP or Windows* Vista. For these operating systems, make sure your BIOS settings have the xHCI Mode set to Auto or Smart Auto. This step reconfigures the USB 3.0 ports to function as USB 2.0 ports using the native Windows* EHCI driver
I went into my bios and i don't have that option.
The Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver is not supported on Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista. For these operating systems,
the USB 3.0 ports will be functional as USB 2.0 ports using the native
    Microsoft Windows EHCI driver.
So it seems that the two USB3.0 ports do not function as USB2.0 ports. I don't really care that I cant use USB3.0 all I really want is to be able to use those extra ports. I know XP is a dynosaur now but there are some programs I use which only work in XP. If everything fails I will have to buy a usb splitter and connect it to the 2.0 port.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thank you
