  • T420 (4236) - Lenovo Update Retreiver is missing the Intel Wireless Driver Package

    Hi,
I'm using Lenovo Update Retreiver with ThinInstaller. We got our new model T420 and got everything except the driver for Intel Wireless Driver.
The new version Power Manager 3.62 is also fail. Missing information and won't install.
    Could you please add it!

After seeing the above comment, I again tried to update Power Manager on my 3 ThinkPads, without success.
On my R500 running Windows 7 professional with SP1, Update Retriever (version 4.02.0011) still fails to download the package for Power Manager version 3.62. Of interest here is that when you try to list the details for this package, you still get a blank screen. If you try to bypass Update retriever, and go with System Update (version 4.01.0015) directly,  the update still fails with message "1 package did not download".
On an R500, running Windows XP SP3, Power Manager (version 1.99j) still fails with similar messages. Update Retriever (version 4.02.0011) still reports "1 update failed to be downloaded" and System Update (version 3.15.0017) still reports "1 package did not download".
On an R61, running Windows XP SP3, Power Manager (version 1.99j) still fails with similar messages. Update Retriever (version 4.02.0011) still reports "1 update failed to be downloaded" and System Update (version 3.15.0017) still reports "1 package did not download".
I know that I can update these packages manually, but the point is that System Update and Update Retriever still cannot process this update. I use the update logs within System Update to keep track of what has been installed. Doing the update manually defeats that purpose.

  • How can I save Illustrator CC files onto my external hard drive - Free Agent Go Flex Drive? Nothing works, can't even drag files over. Is the drive not compatible?

Nothing seems to work, not even dragging files over. Is the drive not compatible? Am working on a new Mac Book, its not a problem on my older IMAC?

There are two scenarios in which GoFlex drives are supported for use with a Mac. When you connect a GoFlex drive to a Mac, you will be presented with a utility to configure the drive for use. First, if you want to use your GoFlex drive solely with a Mac, the utility will reformat the drive into the HFS+ format, which allows you to use the drive with Time Machine or the included Memeo Premium backup software for Mac. If you would like to be able to "shuttle" data back and forth between a Mac and a PC, a special driver needs to be installed onto the Mac that allows it to access a Windows-formatted drive (i.e. NTFS). Time Machine will not work in this case, nor will Memeo Premium software for Mac. However, if you want your GoFlex solution to also work with TimeMachine, the drive will need to be reformatted to HFS+ journaled.

  • Intel Wireless Display not installing on W530

I noticed recently that Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) was not installed on my W530, despite my recollection of installing it via Lenovo Update.  So I tried downloading the latest version both from Lenovo (3.5) and directly from Intel (4.0), but neither will install on my system.  During the install, I get a message saying "This platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi or the application is in use. Please see the log for more details."  Now, since I have an Intel i7 CPU with HD 4000 integrated graphics and an Intel wireless card (Centrino Ultimate 6300), my system meets the system requirements for WiDi.  i have also updated the Intel PROSet wireless software to the most recent version, as recommended by Intel's website.
Kaso suggested on the Notebook Review forums that this could happen if I clean installed Windows instead of booting from the Lenovo-supplied OEM image, since there may be specific registry keys or values that signify the system supports WiDi.  As i did clean-install Windows, I'm wondering if anyone knows what those specific registry keys or values might be, so I can add them in.
And if anyone has a different idea why WiDi won't install on my system, I'd appreaciate your input as well.  Thank you.
Thinkpad W530, i7-3720QM, 1920x1080 screen, 32GB RAM, dual SSDs (Samsung 830, Crucial M4 mSATA), Quadro K2000M, 9-cell battery, DVD burner, backlit keyboard, Bluetooth, Intel 6300 wireless card

I have had a number of difficulties with Intel WIDI aswell on my W530. And I will give you a few recommendations.
I recently clean installed my windows and used the Lenovo update tool to install and update all drivers. Then I installed the WIDI app from the lenovo page (3.5 something). Then it works like a charm. My windows reinstall is some coorporate reinstall. So it is not Lenovo generic windows.
You cannot install WIDI for some reason if you have your computer connected to any monitors or in the dock. I think it has something to do with the installer having difficulties with recognizing the Intel HD 4000 when you are at the same time using the NVIDIA GPU.
I have tried a lot of different combinations/versions of WIDI, Intel proset and HD4000 drivers before the reinstall and not all of them work. First I updated all the drivers and it did not work, then I rolled back the drivers and it still did not work. Finally I got it to work after hours of work. But I do not remember what versions I used when it did finally work. After the windows reinstall everything works.
    I am using:
    Intel WIDI 3.5.40
    Intel HD 4000: 9.17.10.2843
    Intel Proset: 15.6.1.0
I am very hesitant upgrading any of the drivers/apps because I fear it will cause problems with WIDI.
Let me know if you have any questions. Perhaps I am able to answer those.
I should perhaps mention that WIDI is not exactly the perfect technology. I have a brand new LG TV with WIDI, but I still encounter pixelations and other stuff once in a while, but I think it has something to do with my router (which is in another room) and a lot of WIFI noise in my apartement building with a lot of different WIFI connections.
A moment ago I launched WIDI to look for the version number and this is what I saw. So perhaps I need to update something today. I will look into it when I get home where my TV is.

  • Ts-L633a DVD drive not compatible with Windows 7 64bit upgrade

Ts-L633a DVD drive on my Pavilion Dv7 1232nr is not compatible with Windows 7 64bit upgrade but will work fine if I downgrade back to Vista 64bit so what DVD drive is there other then the TS-L633a drive that I already have that is compatible with the Windows 7 64 upgrade so that I can buy and install on my laptop.

Here's one out of nowhere:  do you have CD/DVD software that includes Sonic DLA or something like it?  I've seen that take over drives and prevent normal operation.
If you right click on the drive and hit properties, are there any suspicious looking tabs?
Total WAG, and about 1% likely, but there you go.

  • ITunes & Apple Mobile Device Driver Not Compatible w/ Windows 64bit Systems

In short, I spent over 2 hours on the phone tonight with Apple Support. The call was elevated to a software engineer. After several minutes he apologigized and state the Apple Mobile Device Driver is not compatible with Windows 64Bit systems.
Therefore I can't activate or do anything for that matter. I effectivly have a $600 paper weight. I asked the engineer if they have any intention fixing it and never received a direct response.
None of the documentation that I have found states 64bit Operating Systems are not supported. The support rep stated nor he or his collegues were unware the mobile device driver didn't support 64 bit OSs either. I consider this to be really misleading and a huge oversight on Apple's part.
I wrapped up the call by asking him how I go about returning the device without being struck by the 10% restocking fee. He didn't know.
Anyone have Steve's number? I sure would be nice to get at the minimum a full refund.
I just thought everyone else should know so you don't tie up support lines and waste your time trying to find a resolution.
    Regards,
    KSPad

OMG same thing here; rather annoyed and now have set up accounts on 2 comps(both 64 vista ultimate); about to try my 32 bit vista on my lappy; we'll see... i don;t have high hopes thoush.
What i knew about iPhone before buying it:
    What You Need
    To use iPhone, you need:
A new two-year wireless service plan with AT&T
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
    An iTunes Store account
    An Internet connection
You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a
major credit card to open a new iTunes Store account.
    Yeahyeah check all that stuff;
Oh well; just when i thought i'd finally cross over to the beautiful packaging of APPLE. I remember in design school that form follows function. Thanks.

I just purchased a WD My Book 500gb drive to store home videos I'm editing in iMovie. The drive shows up in the event library with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the center. If I try to drag events to the drive I get the following message "volume is not compatible with iMovie." I have searched the discussion board, but have only succeeded in totally confusing myself. I'm sure this is probably a simple matter, but I can't seem to untangle it... Please help.

  • ThinkPad W530 Wireless Driver Not Available for Download

    I have a ThinkPad W530 laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.  Machine type and model = 2438-4CU
When I go to the driver list on Lenovo's website and click on it to download...it's unavailable...you can't download it.  The release date shows 3/28/13
Intel Wireless LAN (11abgn, abg, bg) for Windows 7 (64-bit)  version 15.03.1000.1637
    g1w216ww_64.exe
    78.8 MB
I have also installed Lenovo's System Update and it doesn't list the wireless driver as a download option either.  I have installed all the other drivers found by the System Update tool.
Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue with this particular driver download.
    Thanks for your help...
    Bill

Hi .  Welcome to the HP Forums! It is a wonderful  place to find answers and information!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide. Learn How to Post and More  When I looked at the specifications for your notebook, I noted it came with FreeDOS 2.0.HP 15-r203TX Notebook PC Product Specifications  I see you have formatted the drive and installed Windows 8.1. You have installed drivers but the Intel  chipset drive produced the error saying "saying "please plug the device : device not found", and no driver was located for the network adapter. Where did you acquire your drivers from? As you are unable to access the network from your notebook I suggest you try to download and save the driver files  from the official HP page,to USB stick or CD/DVD to be able to install them. Here is  link to the HP Notebook - 15-r203tx   page, follow the links to display the drivers.  To say thanks for replying please click the thumbs up button below. If this resolved your difficulty, please let other people know by choosing solution provided.  Good Luck!

  • Drive not compatible

I have a drive that is connected to my airport extreme. However I cannot move my events or projects while in iMovie. It tells me the drive is not compatible. When I formated the drive it was to the apple format. Does I movie not allow remote storage of events and projects?

One more thing how do I tell how the drive is formatted, it works great with time machine, and I had to format it at that time with disk utility.
Open the Disk Utility application and select the drive/volume. The utility will tell you how the drive is currently formatted.

  • Wireless driver not found.

Hey.i have to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop but i cant find any wireless driver compatible.i forgot to back up the recovery.i tried many drivers that are found in this web.i also tried the hp support but it also can't find any driver for the wireless adapter.please help.Thank you.

Hi: There is no info available online regarding what model wireless card your notebook has. Please do the following so I can figure that out, and then I will post the links to the drivers you need. Go to the device manager.  There should be an Other Devices category with a list of devices needing drivers under that category. The wireless card is labeled as a Network Controller. Click on the Network Controller device, and then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller device window. Now you should see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description. Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters you see in the window.
