Intelligent dictionary in other languish ???

Hey
Is intelligent dictionary a part of the firmware or is it posible to download and use more then one languish?
Like English, Dutch and Danish.

Very strange but Pages only uses an English dictionary and I can't find a way to change that.
Quite annoing as I write in Dutch.
What to do?

Welcome to Apple discussions.
If you click on the Text inspector > More button, you'll see a language menu. You can switch to the language of your choice, save that as a style, then save the template so that your template will always spell check in Dutch.

How to deploy java dictionary to other scehma/DB

I can't find any way to delpoy java dictionary to customized schema or database.
Because it deploy to SAP Schema like SAPNWTDB.
DO I have to create table with SQL in ohter database?
It's NW 7.3.

You can deploy the .sda file using the SDM interface. On the system where the engine is located, you must run the .bat file.
C:usrsap<sysid>JC01SDMprogramRemoteGui.bat
From here you can deploy.

French dictionary and other dictionaries

Are they available to download from somewhere? I just want a decent french dictionary.

Ahh, ok, that clears that up. What I was referring to there were possible language files inside the Dictionary application resources files.
But you've actually hit the nail on the head, what was really looking for were language options for spelling & grammar correction. I'd assumed these were associated with the Dictionary application.
Which spell checking system are you referring to? there are no relevant options under Edit in the Dictionary, nothing under the Finder and nothing in the System Prefs. What I'm looking for are global settings for Spelling & Grammar, not application specific. i.e. I have English as the base OS language but I frequently write in Swedish. I'd like automatic spelling and grammar correction wherever I type, in both English and Swedish, without having to configure every application.
For example, if I type Swedish here then all the words are underlined in red as not recognised. There is no option in Safari to add Swedish spelling and grammar correction, it takes English as the default since that is the OS language.

Dictionary and other bugs

I launch Dictionary from the Dock. It launches but no window appears. In the File menu, New Window is grayed out. I quit it and launch again and this time it works. Text Edit crashed. Mail crashes sometimes when attaching. And CS3 apps crash sometimes (and posts of Adobe supported CS4 apps crashing too). Nothing like this happened for me in Leopard. I'd go back to it in a flash if it weren't such a big undertaking. Apple really dropped the ball on SL. How soon is 10.6.2 coming out?

How to grant corporate accounts access to the Office store to install the Dictionary in Word 2013 (365)

We are currently migrating from Office 2010 MSI to Office 365 (2013) click to run installation deployed with Configuration Manager. I was curious if there was a way to grant our corporate accounts access to the Office store to pull in the Dictionary
and other tools not baked into Office 2013 (365).
The only way I have been able to do this is to have a separate Microsoft account to install the Dictionary.

With which accounts you set up your Office client, Office 365 subscribe account or your corporation account? Have you set up
directory synchronization for Office 365? Per my experience, if the directory synchronization has been set up, your corporation accounts will be associated with Office, therefore no need extra effort to install apps from Office store,
you can simply insert apps available in Office store to word in your case. If I misunderstood the situation, please let me know, thank you.

Have you ever created a user dictionary? You have to manually create one, AppleWorks won't do for you. The user dictionary & any other dictionaries belong in the AppleWorks Essentials folder which belongs in the AppleWorks 6 folder in Applications.
Deleting & reinstalling AppleWorks from the original disk will not delete your files unless you have saved them in the application folder. The Mac OS creates a separate Documents folder for your files & that is where the documents you created should be.
Unless all of your documents are AppleWorks 6 word processing documents, Pages alone is not sufficient. The iWork applications - Keynote, Pages & Numbers - can only open AppleWorks 6 presentation, word processing & spreadsheet documents, respectively. They will not open any other type of AppleWorks 6 files or any AppleWorks 5 or any version of ClarisWorks files.

Is dictionary cache double buffered (shared pool, buffer cache)

Hi,
I'm trying to get idea about how dictionary cache is buffered .
Let us say we're talking about dc_objects .
It is dba_tables view related so all underlying sys.obj$ sys.user$ ... tables block are cached in buffer cache.
So why we are caching them in dictionary cache space in shared pool additionally ?
Looks like double buffering and wasting SGA .
Please explain .

Dictionary cache will not cache data of tables, rather it will cache the structural information of table (in your case).
If i will do "select ename from emp", during statement compilation, it needs to check whether "ename" is a real column? and for this it needs to query data dictionary information (from using physical read of system data file or from data dictionary cache if information is there). It also need to check whether i have (logged in user) rights to access this table/column and all this information comes from data dictionary.
This is a simple example, otherwise dictionary cache need to store a lot of other information also (but purely the information present in data dictionary)

How do I change my spelling dictionary?

I have accidentally clicked on "add to dictionary" when trying to correct a few misspelled words while using firefox.
So I went to finder/library/application support/firefox/profiles/persdict.dat
There I found a list of the words. So I deleted the misspelled words. Clicked "save" and exited.
However, next time I open finder and open the persdict/dat file again, those stupid words are still in there!!
So how do I edit my "spelling word bank" that has the misspelled words? Thanks.

Is it possible to create a reference(foreign key) to the constraint_name column of user_constraints object or to other table of sys/system which keeps the constraint names created per user...????

No.
To create a referential constraint the column must be unique and guaranteed unique by virtue of a primary key or unique constraint.
You can not do this with the Oracle data dictionary.

is there an upgrade for dictionary 10.1. i'm using snow leopard now and the dictionary will not allow me to check spelling

To see the version of Dictionary open Dictionary and in the Dictionary Menu choose About Dictionary, that is where you will find the current version. Your profile indicates you are OS X 10.6.6, if that is correct then I'd recommend your update your system. Before updating first backup using Time Machine or a Bootable Clone. Then disconnect all peripherals except the keyboard and mouse. Next download 10.6.8 Update Combo from

Then install the Update Combo (it will be in your downloads folder) following the on-screen instructions.
After you have installed the Update Combo you will have the most up-to-date version of OS X which includes Dictionary.

English - english dictionary doesn't work

I have Firefox 32 and Windows 7. My add-ons manager says that English - English Dictionary 1.5 is installed, but it isn't working. There's no "ABC" icon and clicking a word does nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Multi language dictionary...

I am wondering if there is a way to download dictionaries with the extension that mac uses which is ".dict" and this is just because I find great the option of seeing the meaning of the words when you press "apple + ctrl + d" personaly I like and study languages so I would like to have more dictionaries. The mac comes with the oxford dictionary so if someone knows how to get another languages I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Serbian dictionary in InDesign and install dictionary

First question is can I install Serbian dictionary and how? Altought Help provides very good explanation there isnt such topic how to install new dictionary. Second is I want to ask for feature Serbian dictionary. Croatian is very similar but there are so many differences to check spelling and gramatical errors and too much work to add all words to dictionary

That's not a feature in InDesign. You can't choose any arbitrary dictionary and use it. If you had InDesign CS5.5, your choices would expand to include the Hunspell dictionary.
